Benjamin Deregla
November 14, 2011

CUMBERLAND - Benjamin Deregla, 35, passed away Wednesday at the Memorial Hospital, Pawtucket.
Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Benjamin Deregla and Eileen(McDermott) Haney of Cumberland. He was a life-long resident of Cumberland.
Ben was a Cumberland High School Class of 1994 Graduate.
Besides his mother, he leaves his companion, Shannon Cox of Cumberland; his beloved daugher Cali Ann Deregla; three brothers, Gary Morin of Cumberland, David Dreibholz and his wife Lynn, of Stafford Springs, CT, and Donald Morin of Central Falls, two nephews Jonah Dreibholz of Connecticut and Aaron Corbett of New Hampshire. He also leaves his extended family, Thomas and Anne (Quinn) Cox of Cumberland, Gregory Cox of Narragansett, and Harriet Quinn of Pawtucket.
A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday at 10 am from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. John Vianney Church, Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting Hours wil be held on Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a scholarship to be created for Ben's daughter Cali. Donation envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Jennie T. Tripp
November 14, 2011

CUMBERLAND - Jennie T. Tripp, 81, of Middle St, passed November 9th.
She was the wife of the late Harry J. Walsh.
Jennie was the daughter of the late George R. and Elizabeth (Beckwith) Webster.
She is survived by 3 sons, George and John Tripp and Norman Kiley, 2 daughters, Brenda Holderman and Wanda Gieger, a brother, George Webster, 13 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. A service will be held Monday in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter at 1:30pm. Attendees are to meet at the Administration Parking area of the cemetery no later than 1:15pm. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the family c/o Brenda Holderman, 19 Meadow St, Cumberland RI 02864.

Walter E. Arnold Jr
November 14, 2011

CENTRAL FALLS -Walter E. Arnold Jr, 72, passed November 10th.
Born in Attleboro, he was a son of the late Walter and Helen (Carpenter) Arnold Sr.
Walter served our country for 20 years and was Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was the father of five, Cheryl Figueira of Pawtucket, Walter E. Arnold III of Pawtucket, Nancy F. Girouard of Lincoln, Kevin E. Arnold of Woonsocket and Dawn M. Arnold of Central Falls, four brothers, Robert Arnold of Central Falls, Raymond Arnold of Johnston, George Arnold of Rehoboth and Joel Arnold of Hawaii, a sister, Nancy Alix of Pawtucket, 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and Nephews.
He was the husband of Claire (Walters) Arnold. He was the brother of the late Charles and Earl Arnold.
A funeral service with military honors will be held Monday at 10am in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Burial will be private in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited, calling hours will be held Sunday from 4 to 7pm. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St, Providence, RI 02904 or to the American Cancer Society, 30 Spleen St, PO Box 9376, Framingham, MA 01701-9376.

Betty Jane Fewster
November 14, 2011

LEESBURG, Fla. - Betty Jane Fewster, 74, of Lakeview Drive in Leesburg, Fla. Died on Nov. 10, 2011 in Waterman Hospital, Tavares. She was the wife of Carl Fewster.
The daughter of the late Paul and Helen (Bowes) Eve, Mrs. Fewster was an LPN who had worked in various Rhode Island hospitals prior to her retirement 10 years ago.
She is survived by four sons: Jeffrey Currier of Johnson, Mark Currier of Coventry, David Currier of North Carolina, and Jason Fewster of Pawtucket; two sisters: Diana Mulberry of North Smithfield and Linda Yany of North Providence; and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Paul Eve.
Friends and relatives are invited to the funeral service on Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 10 a.m. from the Darlington Mortuary of L. Heroux & Son, 1042 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Calling hours in the funeral home will be on Monday, Nov. 14, from 5 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Oak Knoll Cemetery, Rehoboth, Mass.

Raymond R. Cookson
November 10, 2011

PAWTUCKET - Raymond R. Cookson, 95, of Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket died November 9, 2011. Mr. Cookson was the husband of Ruth (Nelson) Cookson.
Mr. Cookson was born in Pawtucket, the son of the late Thomas and Margaret (Hull) Cookson. He was a WWII veteran of the United States Army Air Corp where he served in the Philippines.
Besides his wife Mr. Cookson leaves a son, David R. Cookson and his wife Lori of Miamisburg, Ohio. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Alyssa Glisson and her husband Rick of Atlanta GA, Rebecca Cookson of Ohio, Hollie Cookson of Queens, New York, Carolyn Cookson of Ohio and his great grandson James Glisson. Mr. Cookson also leaves many nieces and nephews.
He was a longtime member of the Darlington Congregational Church where he served as a Trustee and a member of the choir.
Mr. Cookson was a longtime Boston Red Sox fan.
The funeral service for Mr. Cookson will be Monday, November 14, 2011 at 7:00p.m. in the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket. The visitation will be Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited.

Maurice A. Regan
November 9, 2011

PAWTUCKET - Maurice A. Regan, 94, of Pawtucket died Tuesday, November 8, 2011.
He was the beloved husband of Helen A. (Phillip) Regan.
Mr. Regan was born in Lawrence Massachusetts, the son of the late John and Nora (Donovan) Regan.
He was a WWII Veteran serving in the United States Army Air Corps.
Mr. Regan graduated from Providence College with a Bachelor’s Degree and then earned his Master’s Degree at Boston University.
He was a Teacher and School Psychologist in the Pawtucket School System for over 38 years.
He was an administrator of the Pawtucket Evening School and Johnson and Wales University.
He was a longtime member of the Pawtucket Teachers Alliance.
A daily communicant of St. Leo’s Church, he also served as a commentator.
He was actively involved in many parish activities including CFM, Holy Name Society, Renew, Catholic Charity and St. Leo’s School Board.
Besides his wife he leaves a son Phillip Regan of East Providence.
He also leaves three daughters, Maureen/Mo Orabone and her husband John of Cumberland, Margaret/Meg Battersby and her husband Arnie of Rumford, and Mary/ Maire Beckett and her husband John of Seekonk.
Mr. Regan had eight grandchildren, Dr. Kristin Vaz, Amy Aleksiewicz, Dr. Joshua Orabone, Rachel Orabone, Beth Orabone, Kim Battersby, Mark Battersby and Kate Beckett, four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Fr. Ambrose Regan, O.P. , Anne Hession, Fr. James Regan, O.P., David and John Regan.
The funeral for Mr. Regan will be Saturday, November 12, at 9:00 a.m. from the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket, RI. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial in the Church of Blessed Pope John Paul II (formerly St. Leo) Church, 697 Central Avenue, Pawtucket at 10:00 a.m.
His calling hours will be Friday 4-7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Amos House, 413 Friendship Street, Providence RI, 02907 in Mr. Regan’s memory.

Thomas A. Perron
November 8, 2011

PAWTUCKET - Thomas A. Perron, 56, passed November 7th.
He was the husband of Diane L. (Cardinal) Perron.
He had been employed by Stop and Shop, IGA and Andreoni Market, then retired due to illness from Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter, Cherie Lee Perron of New Britain, CT, a son, Thomas A. Perron of Bellingham, MA, a sister, Joanne Cranshaw of Lincoln, a brother, Rev. Robert P. Perron of Pawtucket and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in honor of Thomas Perron to the Lahey Clinic Nursing Fund (6 Central) at the Philanthropy Office Lahey Clinic, 41 Mall Road, Burlington , MA , 01805
