Mary J. Wagner

LINCOLN - Mary J. (Sacchetti) Wagner, 84, of Lincoln, RI passed away into the arms of our Lord on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at her home with her family, after a long illness.
She leaves her loving husband of 63 years Leo J. Wagner and is also survived by her daughters Jean Armstrong and her husband Dennis of Northbridge MA, Patti Wagner-Miller and her husband Walter Miller of N. Attleboro MA and Donna Herbrand and her husband John of Santa Fe, NM, two grandsons Michael Armstrong of Carbondale Il, and Miles Miller of North Attleboro MA. She is also predeceased by John Sacchetti her brother and Agelina Wilcox her sister. She is survived by Lena Trudeau and her husband Norman of Missouri TX and her sister Rose Martinelli of Pawtucket RI and her brother Richard Sacchetti and his wife Patricia of North Providence RI and also many nieces and nephews.
Mary was born in Pawtucket RI on October 28, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Pietro and Josephine (DiFillippo) Sacchetti. She enjoyed growing up with her large family. She was educated in the Pawtucket School system. Her first place of employment was with the Shartenbergs Department Store in Pawtucket. After marrying the love of her life Leo in 1948 she began to have her family of 3 daughters. Their move to their home in Lincoln RI in the 1950s would be a place of love and excitement with many celebrations of life's events. She was a very loving mother, wife and grandmother. She loved her home which exhibited her talents in cooking, decorating, gardening and sewing. Later in her life she was employed by the Peerless Department Store in Pawtucket and Lincoln RI as a leading salesperson and as a cosmetologist.
Mary was a member of the Women’s Guild at St. Jude Church and also had been active on the Democratic Town Committee as well. She had enjoyed traveling around the United States and Europe until her health started to decline.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 8:45 am from the Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Jude Church, Front St., Lincoln. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Church Food Pantry, 301 Front St., Lincoln, RI 02865 would be appreciated.
John P. Duffin Jr.

CENTRAL FALLS - John P. Duffin Jr. 67, of Jenks Avenue passed away Monday November 28, 2011 at Rhode Island Hospital.
Born in Pawtucket he was the beloved son of the late John P. and Sophie A. (Rzepiela) Duffin Sr. He lived in Central Falls for the past 22 years and was formerly of Pawtucket.
John was a self employed Mason and also owned and operated several local businesses.
He leaves his devoted family 3 sons John P. Duffin III and his wife Marie of Pawtucket, Craig Duffin and his wife Belinda also of Pawtucket and Thomas Duffin of Colorado, 1 sister Angela Jannitto of Pawtucket, 3 grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was the former husband of Janice (Pellegrini) Duffin.
A celebration of John's life will be held Thursday December 1, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.,relatives and friends are invited to attend in the Karol A. Romenski & Sons Funeral Home 342 High Street Central Falls, RI. PLEASE OMIT FLOWERS.

PAWTUCKET - Lionel "Uncle Pint" E. Roy, 96, of Celebration, Florida, formerly of Pawtucket, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2011. He was the beloved husband of the late Stella M. (Lemieux) Roy.
Born in Central Falls, a son of the late Emery H. and Regina A. (Juaire) Roy, he resided in Pawtucket most of his life before moving to Florida in 2008. A highly decorated World War II U. S. Army veteran, he was a recipient of the Purple Heart, Silver Star and the French Legion of Honor award. Pint was employed by the Joseph M. P. Ott Company, Pawtucket, for thirty-three years before retiring in 1980. He was a member of the Celebration Veterans Club and a life member of the AMVETS and DAV. The Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins and Celtics lost a diehard fan and his friends lost a man that can never be replaced. A votre sant! Uncle Pint leaves nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was the brother of the late Ella Y. Parfitt, Doris J. Sanville, Wilfred E. and George L. Roy.
His funeral with Military Honors will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, 195 Walcott St., Pawtucket. Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery. Elizabeth A. Quinn

CUMBERLAND - Elizabeth A. Quinn of Connecticut, formerly of Rhode Island, died on November 25, 2011 in New Jersey. Born in Cumberland, R.I., Miss Quinn attended St. Patrick's School, Cumberland High School, and Rhode Island College of Education, at which she received her Bachelor's Degree in Education. When she moved to Connecticut in 195l, she earned her Master's Degree in Education at Fairfield University. Her career in Education, which spanned 55 years, began in Seekonk, Mass., where she was a teacher of science and physical education from 1942 to 1951 at Seekonk Jr. High School. In 1951 Miss Quinn moved to Connecticut to become Asst. Principal and teacher of science and physical education at Saxe Jr. High School, New Canaan. Miss Quinn was very active in her profession, being elected President of the Connecticut Science Teachers Association, and as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Science Teachers Association. With both approval and moral support of the New Canaan Board of Education, she was able to travel across the U.S. assisting teachers with programs to improve their offerings in science education for students of all ages and capabilities. For this effort, Miss Quinn was honored as a Fellow of AAAS (American Assoc. for Advancement of Science), the highest award available.
As a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, a world-wide association that works to improve education for all, she assumed leadership roles in the local chapter.
Besides these activities, she supported the programs of the De La Salle Christian Brothers, an Order to which her brother, Brother B. Jarnes Quinn, belonged. In recognition of her support, she was honored as an Affiliate of the Christian Brothers.
Proud of her Irish heritage, and grateful for the opportunities to fulfill the dreams her mother prayed would be realities, Miss Quinn lived a happy and productive life, grateful to all with whom Miss Quinn had been associated. May she rest in peace!
Visiting Hours will be held Friday at 9 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A graveside service will be held at 10 AM at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland.

NORTH PROVIDENCE - Eric J. Boynton, 30, of Cassisi Street, died unexpectedly Saturday, November 26.
Born in Brockton, MA, he was the son of Nancy (Beekes) Boynton of North Providence and Bradford Boynton, of Brockton.
He was a waiter at Chili's Restaurant, West Bridgewater, MA, a 2001 graduate of Lincoln High School, and a communicant of St. Anthony Church, North Providence.
He loved football, basketball, soccer, food and fine dining. He had an effervescent personality and was very generous. Words cannot express how much he will be missed, and how much all of his family and friends' lives have been changed with his passing.
Besides his parents, he is survived by one sister, Arianne Boynton of Pawtucket; his maternal grandparents, Patricia Beekes of North Providence and the late Frank Beekes; his maternal grandfather Dr. Lewis Lopilato II of Santa Fe, NM; his paternal grandparents, Brant Boynton of Pembroke, MA and the late Diane M. Boynton, one nephew, Oliver Tanasio of Pawtucket, and a very large extended family.
His funeral service will be held Saturday, December 3, at 1:00 p.m. in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Chapel, 185 Lake Street, Peabody, MA. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Thursday, December 1 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. in BELLOWS-FALSO FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln. PAWTUCKET – Lauretta Barriere, 91, of Pawtucket, died Sunday at Oakhill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Sylva Barriere. Born in Central Falls, she was a daughter of the late David and Eva (Sabourin) Nantais.
Mrs. Barriere had been employed as a heat sealer for the former Red Farm Studios until her retirement.
She was a devout Catholic.
She is survived by her son Richard Barriere of Pawtucket, her daughters Pauline Bidwell of Michigan and Linda Trainor of Rehoboth MA, her sister Doris Plouffe of Attleboro MA, 13 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Henry Nantais.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 8:45 am from the Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Mary's Church, Pine St., Pawtucket. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Calling hours are Tuesday 3-7 pm. CUMBERLAND - Leona Mikula, 89, of Maybury Street, passed away Saturday at home. She was the beloved wife of Andrew Matthew Mikula. They had been married for 63 years.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Zygmund and Marion (Gawryc)Nawrocki. She was a Cumberland Resident for over 59 years.
She was a quality control inspector for the Robco Manufacturing Company for many years until her retirement.
She was a communicant of St. Aidan Church.
She was the sister of the late Helen Baron, Joseph Nawrocki, Henry Nawrocki, and Stanley Nawrocki.
A celebration of her life will be Tuesday at 9 AM in the J.J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Burial will follow in the RI Veteran Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting Hours will be held Monday from 5 to 8 PM.

NARRAGANSETT - Joseph J. Day, 78, of Narragansett and formerly of Pawtucket died Saturday, November 26, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. He was the long time companion of Ginny Szymkowicz.
Mr. Day was born in Pawtucket, the son of the late Joseph and Irene (Garrity) Day.
He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Day served two terms as the Exalted Ruler of the Pawtucket Lodge of Elks #920 and was a member of the East Greenwich Fireman's Club.
He was employed by the Pawtucket Times, the Pawtucket Water Board and was a dispatcher for the Pawtucket Police Department.
Besides his companion Ginny, Mr. Day is survived by his sons, Michael and Tommy Day of Tacoma, Washington and his grandchildren, Cameron, Peyton, and Jayne Day. He also leaves his sister Shirley Entwistle and her husband Charles of North Attleboro Ma., his nieces Judy Josephs, Patricia Roberts, and Linda Kayata and a nephew Charles Entwistle. He also leaves several grand nieces and nephews.
The funeral for Mr. Day will be Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. from the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Teresa's Church, 358 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket at 10:00 a.m. His burial will be with full Military Honors in Mt. St. Mary's Cemetery, Pawtucket. The calling hours will be Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home.

EAST PROVIDENCE - Elizabeth Pacheco, of Merrill Street, passed into eternal life on Saturday after an illness. She was the beloved wife of Timothy Pacheco Jr.
She was born in East Providence a daughter of the late Manuel and Annie Mae (Boler) Pike and was a lifelong resident of the city. Elizabeth had been employed for more that 30 years at the former Allendale Insurance Co. and also had been a volunteer at RI Hospital for more than 10 years.
Besides her husband she leaves a daughter Deborah A. DeCataldo of Cumberland and a son Timothy "Tim" Pacheco of Seekonk, a Grandson and 3 Granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 9 siblings.
Her Funeral will be held Tuesday at 9AM from the CHARLES COELHO Funeral Home, 151 Cross St. Central Falls with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis Xavier Church, Orchard St. East Providence at 10AM. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Funeral Home, from 8 until 9AM prior to the funeral.

PAWTUCKET - Hector Castro, 64, of Sea Biscuit Place, passed away Sunday November 20, 2011 after an illness. He was born in Brooklyn, NY a son of the late Braulio and Petra (Irizarry) Castro. Hector moved to Rhode Island in 1981 and settled in Pawtucket. He will be greatly missed by all his friends at the Arc of the Blackstone Valley.
He leaves 2 sisters, Monica Seda Castro of Pawtucket, Josefina Rivera of FL, 2 brothers, Braulio Castro Jr. of Puerto Rico and Jose H. Castro of NY. He also leaves his beloved niece, Denise Seda Castro and other nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held MONDAY at 11 am in the Charles Coelho Funeral Home, 151 Cross St. Central Falls. VISITATION on SUNDAY, 2 until 5 pm. Interment will be in No. Burial Ground, Providence.

PAWTUCKET - Donald D. Dawson, 68, of Florida and formerly of Pawtucket, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2011. He was the husband of Marianne (Rodrigues) Dawson. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Norman and Irene (Richardson) Dawson. Mr. Dawson had worked in the textile industry for many years and also for the Pawtucket Times, retiring in 2005. He was an avid fisherman and was a member of both the Slater Mill Fishing Club and the Southwest Anglers Club, Cape Coral, Florida. Besides his wife, he is survived by four children, Lisa, Tammy, Donald, and Michael Dawson, a brother, Albert Dawson, a sister, Margaret Dumont, ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Mark Dawson. He was the brother of the late Mary Studervant and Norman Dawson. A Service will be held Monday at 10AM in the COSTIGAN-O'NEILL Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Sunday 3-6PM.
