PAWTUCKET - Jeannette Fugere Perron, 84, passed away on December 8th 2011 with her family at her side. She was the wife of the late Donald J. Perron Sr.
Jeannette "Jan" lived in Pawtucket all her life. She was the daughter of the late Philias & Beatrice Fugere. She is survived by her children, Donna Couturier of Vancouver, British Columbia, Donald J. Perron Jr. of Smithfield, the late James David Perron and Douglas Perron of East Providence, and 8 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Henry, Rene, Armand and Leo Fugere and her sisters, Connie LaBranche, Theresa Hills and Irene Charrette and several nieces and nephews and many friends and neighbors. She will be missed by many.
Calling hours will be held Monday from 4 to 7pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a service at 7pm. Burial will be private. In Lieu of flowers please make a donation to the American Heart & Stroke Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA, 02241.

PROVIDENCE - Michael R. Cipriano, 95 of Providence passed away December 7, 2011 at Roger Williams Hospital.
He was the beloved
husband of the late Theresa (Albanese). Father of Joyce Cipriano, Roberta Tomao, and the late Michael Cipriano Jr., and companion of Rita Jordan.
Mike was a strong, gentle, tender-hearted man who will be missed by all. Funeral and burial will be private.

SPC Christopher L. Mendonca
December 7, 2011

PAWTUCKET – SPC Christopher L. Mendonca, 20, a beloved son of Domingas G. (DePina) Mendonca and Luis Mendonca, passed away in New York on Sunday, December 4, 2011 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident while on leave from the U.S. Army. He was an Operation Enduring Freedom veteran of the United States Army, Company B, 2-8 Infantry, 2nd BCT, 4th ID, Fort Carson, Colorado.
Christopher was born in Pawtucket and had resided in Holbrook, Massachusetts. He enjoyed dancing and cooking. Christopher was a graduate of Holbrook High School, and aspired to become a State Trooper after completing his service with the United States Army.
Besides his parents, he leaves his wife, Kasey (Tapper) Mendonca; a brother, Joseph G. Pires; maternal grandmother, Ana Gomes and his paternal grandmother, Justina Mendonca.
Services with Full Military Honors will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Temple of Restoration, 40 Walcott St., Pawtucket. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Wampanoag Trail, East Providence. VISITATION will be Sunday 2 to 5 p.m. at the WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.

Elizabeth Hunter Wells
December 7, 2011

ROCHESTER, MINNESOTA-Elizabeth Hunter Wells, 91, died Tuesday December 6, 2011 in Rochester, Minnesota, where she had lived for the past five years. She was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, the daughter of the late James Whyte and Margaret Whyte. She married Lloyd Alvin Wells, and they had a 56-year marriage. She was an insurance executive, serving as vice-president of Starkweather and Shepley for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sister, Jean MacLaren Young.
She is survived by her son, Lloyd, his wife, Denise, a granddaughter, Aynslee (Jorge) Velarde, a grandson, Llyd Wells, a grandson Ethan (Wei-Wei Liu) Wells, and a great-grandson, Luca Velarde. Services will be held at a later date. The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer Association.

John James Reilly

CUMBERLAND - John James Reilly, 85, of Amherst Street, passed away Tuesday at home. He was the husband of Rosemary (Hogue) Reilly. They had recently celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Francis and Mary (Burns) Reilly. He resided in Cumberland for over 50 years, previously residing in Providence.
Mr. Reilly was employed as a jewelry toolmaker for the B.A. Ballou Company for 40 years, until his retirement.
He was a United States Navy Seabee, World War II veteran. He was awarded the WWII Victory Medal, and the American Theatre Medal.
Mr. Reilly was a communicant of St. Patrick Church, and was a trustee for over 40 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Thomas Council, and a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion Post 14.
Besides his wife, he leaves four sons, John J. Reilly Jr. and his wife Joanna of Bedford Hills, NY, Daniel P. Reilly and his wife Ann of Warwick and Michael J. Reilly and his wife Jeanne and Kieran T. Reilly and his wife Kerri, all of Cumberland; two daughters, Rosemary Reilly-Chammat and her husband Issam of Cumberland, Susan M. Canavan and her husband Robert of Cumberland; eleven grand- children, Caitlin and John Chammat, Matthew and Zachary Reilly, Patrick, Killian,and Kayleigh Canavan, Colby and Quinn Reilly, Courtney and Nicholas Reilly; he was also the grandfather of the late Nicolas Valois. He leaves his best friend and brother-in-law, Bill Marceau. He leaves two sisters, Mary and Eileen Reilly, and three brothers, Bishop Daniel P. Reilly, Thomas and Raymond Reilly. He was the brother of the late Joseph and Francis Reilly, and Rita Marceau.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday at 10 AM from J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM in St. Patrick Church, Broad Street, Cumberland. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting Hours will be held Friday, 4-8 PM.

CENTRAL FALLS - Wendi Torres, 37, passed December 7th. She was the wife of Rene Torres.
Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of Daniel Hardy and the late Claire (St. Jean) Hardy.
Besides her husband, she is survived by 4 children, Jessica Gregory, and Rene Torres Jr., Jordan Torres and Edwin Torres.
Eleven siblings, Glenn, Peter, Susan, Gary, Michael, Daniel, Jennifer and Amy Laramee, Daniel and Scott Hardy and James Feley, 2 grandchildren, Alexandra and Lilliana Barboza, and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held Saturday at 8am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Spirit Parish, Dexter St, Central Falls at 9:30am, Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited, calling hours will be held Friday from 4 to 7pm.

Blanche M. Shorter

CUMBERLAND - Blanche M. (Pineau) Shorter, 79, of Kimberly Court, passed away Tuesday in Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. She was the wife of Guy S. Shorter Sr.
She resided in Cumberland for the past 45 years, previously residing in Pawtucket.
Mrs. Shorter was employed as a quality control operator for the former Crystal Thermal Plastics Company for many years.
She loved her family, and most of all enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Guy S. Shorter Jr. and his wife Judy of Cumberland and David A. Shorter, and his wife Kathy of Woonsocket; one sister, Ruth Rodrigues of Lincoln; five grandchildren Matthew, Brendan, Meaghan, Jared, and Colin, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday at 11 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church, Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Arrangements are under the direction of the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Diabetes Association.

Manuel A. Luis

CUMBERLAND - Manuel A. Luis, 61, of Forest Ave. passed away Tuesday in the Philip Hulitar Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Eva M. (Mendes) Luis.
Born in Porto de Covoes, Portugal he was the son of Maria (Odete) Luis of Cumberland and the late Manuel Dos Santos Luis. He came to this country in 1968 settling in Cumberland.
He was employed by the Stern-Leach Co., Attleboro for the past 16 years. He was previously the owner of CDS Liquors, Providence for 8 years.
Mr. Luis was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cumberland. He was a member of the Clube Juventude Lusitana, Cumberland and manager and member of the club band. He also played for the theatre group at the Amigos da Tercera, Pawtucket. He was also a member of the locally known band, "Os Sombras" playing at weddings and other social events. As one could tell his life revolved around music.
Besides his wife and mother he leaves three daughters, Sara, Diane and Cristina Luis all of Cumberland. He also leaves a sister, Rosa M. Iwuc also of Cumberland.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday and begin at 9 a.m. from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rd. Rte. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Dr., Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. John Miguel

PAWTUCKET - John Miguel, 53, passed unexpectedly December 6th. He was the husband of Consolacion (Loreto) Miguel.
Born in Providence, a son of Shirley (Preston) Miguel and the late Joao Miguel.
He had been employed by Key Container of Pawtucket for 34 years and also served as their Union President.
Besides his wife he is survived by 4 sons, John, James, Shawn and Charles Miguel, 2 step children, Jesse Souza and Samantha Duong, 13 grandchildren and a sister, Janice Clark.
Calling hours will be held Saturday from 4 to 7pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Burial will be private.

George T. Leonard

CENTRAL FALLS - George T. Leonard, 84, passed December 5th at home with his wife by his side. He was the husband of Jeannette Leonard. They were married for 60 years.
George attended Holy Trinity School and Central Falls Trade School. He worked for 30 years at Collyer Wire of Pawtucket and Lincoln as an electrician. George was a Navy veteran of WWII.
Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters, Nancy Leonard of Central Falls and Joanne Greene of Clearwater, FL, a cousin Helen Gilligan of Pawtucket, and nephews. He was the brother of the late Clifton Leonard.
His funeral will be held Friday at 8:30am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Spirit Parish, Dexter St, Central Falls at 9:30am. Burial with military honors will be held in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited, calling hours will be held Thursday from 4 to 7pm. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Sr. Bea's Ministry, c/o 1030 Dexter St, Central Falls RI 02863.

Carmen D. Ribeiro

STERLING, CT - Carmen D. Ribeiro (Gouveia) went to be with the Lord, Friday December 2nd, 2011. She was 89 years old and loved the Lord, loved life, loved her family, church family, friends, and animals. She loved music and to dance and sing, and also had won best dancer at 83 years of age, in a Sterling CT dance contest.
Born in New Bedford MA on January 20th 1922 to the late Maria and Manuel Gouveia. She has a brother Manuel Gouveia of Maryland and a sister the late Mary Perreira. She married June 30th 1945 and was the beloved wife for 59 years to the late Antonio A Ribeiro where they made their home on Macondry Street in Cumberland RI for 53 years. Beloved mother to her daughter Carmen Ribeiro-Girouard and her family with whom she made her home for the past 6 years in Sterling CT. Richard Ribeiro and his family of Cumberland RI. Wonderful grandmother to 5 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was a hard worker in the textile industry for over 50 years. Mrs. Ribeiro was a member of Oasis of Grace Church, Providence RI, the ASPCA the U.S. Humane Society and the World Humane Society. She loved all animals especially her pet dogs, Heidi, Scooby, cat Joey and parrot Ralph.
A celebration of her life will begin on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rd. Rte. 122, Cumberland. Funeral services at 10:30 a.m. in the Oasis of Grace Church, Silver Spring Ave., Providence. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.Calling hours Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
