Bertha Robitaille

PAWTUCKET - Marie L. "Bertha" Robitaille 95, died on Saturday at her home in Pawtucket. She was the wife of the late Joseph H. Robitaille. Born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Alcidas and Emilia (LaRose) Girard, she had been a resident of Pawtucket for several years. Prior to retirement in 1978 she had been employed as a textile worker with the former Bonin Spinning Company. She was an avid bowler with the Walnut Hill Bowling group and a devoted Red Sox fan.
Survivors are one son, Roger Robitaille of Sale Creek, TN and her caregivers: Therese and Walter and Jennifer Wojcik all of Pawtucket and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Roland Girard of Woonsocket and Edward Girard of CA.
The funeral will be held on Friday at 11:30 AM in St. Teresa Church, 358 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket, followed by burial in Precious Blood Cemetery, Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to: Memorial Hospital Home Care, 111 Brewster Street, Pawtucket, RI 02860 or to Beacon Hospice, 1 Catamore Boulevard, East Providence, RI 02914 would be appreciated. LAS VEGAS, NV - Richard S. Cormier 73, formerly of River Road, Lincoln, passed into eternal life December 7, 2011 in Las Vegas after a 5 year battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Dolores (Garcia) Cormier and has lived in Las Vegas for the last 12 years.
He was born in Central Falls, a son of the late Wilfred and Estelle (Giroux) Cormier. Richard worked in the family business, Cormier Sand & Gravel for several years and later with Baccala Corp. at a Ready Mixed Concrete plant as a foreman. He also was a truck driver and a member of the Teamsters Union.
After being stricken with Churg-Strauss Syndrone, he was forced into long term disability where he spent his time helping his older family members. He was a kind man with a big heart, a great laugh and will be greatly missed.
Besides his wife he leaves 2 sons, Michael Cormier of Santa Rosa, CA and Mark Cormier of Las Vegas and 2 grandchildren, Michael and Keri.
His funeral will be held Friday at 9am from the CHARLES COELHO Funeral Home, 151 Cross St. Central Falls with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Teresa of the Child Jesus Church, Newport Ave. Pawtucket at 10am. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Friday morning from 8am, prior to the funeral. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Daggett Ave. Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, would be appreciated.

PAWTUCKET - Esther P. (Roderick) Barber, 83 of Pawtucket, died Sunday after a short illness. She was the wife of the late George Barber. She is survived by her sons, Richard and his wife Darlene, George and Rodney Barber and daughter-in-law Janet Viano-Vessella. She was also the mother of the late Calvin Barber.
She leaves 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM in St. Martha's Church Church, 2595 Pawtucket Ave., East Providence.
Lucienne M. Genereux

CENTRAL FALLS - Lucienne M. Genereux, 95, died surrounded by all her loving children December 10th. She was the wife of the late Donat J. Genereux.
Born in Canada, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Lumina (Perron) Routhier. Lucienne was a loving mother and enjoyed family gatherings most of all.
Lucienne was a Eucharistic Minister at the former Notre Dame Church, a member of their Seniors Club, and a member of the Central Falls Seniors.
She is survived by 6 daughters, Annette Ledoux and Pauline Brousseau, both of Central Falls RI, Jeanne O'Malley of Rehoboth, MA, Madeleine Boie of Hope, RI, Rita Life of Lincoln, RI and Lucille Barrette of Thompson, CT, 2 sons, Maurice "Moe" Genereux of Central Falls, RI and Ronald Genereux of Smithfield, RI. She was the mother of the late Joseph, Roland, and Normand, Genereux. She leaves 16 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. Mrs. Genereux leaves a sister, Mrs. Irene Morel of Pawtucket. She was the sister of the late Donat, Joseph, Arthur, Phillip Routhier, Alice Carrier and Anna Marie Boisvert.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 8:30am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln, RI with a Mass of Christian Burial at The Holy Spirit Parish, 1030 Dexter St, Central Falls at 9:30am. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited, calling hours will be held Tuesday from 4 to 7pm. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the Holy Spirit Parish Capitol Campaign or Sister Bea's Ministry, c/o 1030 Dexter St, Central Falls, RI 02863.

CENTRAL FALLS: Maria N. Hoyos, 84, passed December 11th. She was the wife of the late Libardo Franco.
She is survived by a daughter, Gladys Franco with whom she resided, 5 sons, John, Libardo, Carlos Arturo, Luis Edwardo and Javier Franco Hoyos, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held Thursday from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Spirit Parish, Dexter St, Central Falls at 11am. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends are invited and may visit starting Thursday morning at 8:30am.

PAWTUCKET - Lillian D. Brousseau is going to spend Christmas with her Lord & Savior, her husband, and her son. She died at the age of 100 on December 9, 2011 at the St. Jeanne Jugan Residence.
She was born in Manville, the oldest of seven children of the late Edward and Alexandrina (Blais) Valois. She was the beloved wife of the late Wilfred E. Brousseau. They were happily married for 69 years.
She was a devoted mother to her late son, Robert E. Brousseau and is survived by her daughter Jeanne G. McDermott of North Smihtfield and her two sisters, Gloria Berard of Cumberland and Theresa Masterson of Central Falls. She was affectionately called Mmre by her 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Monday, December 12, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at The St. Jeanne Jugan Residence, 964 Main Street, Pawtucket. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:30 am in the Chapel of The Residence. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, 683 South Main Street, Attleboro, MA. PAWTUCKET - Stella B. Gawlik 87, passed away Friday December 9, 2011. She was the beloved wife of the late John J. Gawlik who passed away August 1, 2011.
Born in Pawtucket she was a daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Wolodkiewicz) Dzierzyc. She lived in Pawtucket for 35 years and was formerly of Central Falls.
Before retiring Stella was employed as a Secretary for the Mansion Nursing Home. Mrs. Gawlik was a member of St. Joseph's Church Holy Rosary Society.
She leaves her loving family 2 daughters Christine M. Ben of Harrisville, Patricia Baldwin of Lincoln and 1 son Richard J. Gawlik and his wife Donna of Johnston, 5 grandchildren Peter, Stephanie, Justin, Danielle and Anthony, nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Blanche Sobota, Anthony and John Dzierzyc.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday December 13, 2011 from the Karol A. Romenski & Sons Funeral Home 342 High Street Central Falls at 10:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph's Church 391 High Street Central Falls at 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend . PAWTUCKET – Sophie Cunha, 88 died on Friday, Dec. 16, 2011 at the Cornerstone Hospice, The Villages, FL. She was the wife of the late John Cunha. Born in Clinton, MA, a daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Nicienski, she had been a resident of Pawtucket most of her life.
Prior to her retirement several years ago, she had been employed as a spinner at the former Sydney Blumenthol Company. She was a communicant of Blessed Pope John Paul II (formerly known as St. Leo the Great Church) in Pawtucket. Mrs Cunha liked to crochet, knit and play cards with her friends from Colonial Village in North Smithfield and her Villager friends in Florida.
Mrs. Cunha was preceded in death by a daughter, the late Donna Cunha. Survivors are two daughters: Sandra (Lewis) Olson of The Villages, FL and Debra (Donald) Morin of Mesa, AZ; one granddaughter: Jennifer (David) Remieres of Mesa, AZ, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Donna Cunha, four brothers and one sister.
The funeral will be held Thursday (Dec. 22) at 8 a.m. from the DARLINGTON MORTUARY OF L. HEROUX & SON, 1042 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Leo the Great Church, 699 Central Ave., Pawtucket. Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 4to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Dagget Avenue, Pawtucket.

CENTRAL FALLS - Theodore Juczyk 92, of Henry Street passed away Friday December 9, 2011 at Pawtucket Memorial Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Hilda E.(Jarjoura) Juczyk.
Born in Pawtucket he was a son of the late Frank and Julia (Roman) Juszczyk. He lived in Central Falls for most of his life.
Before retiring he was employed as a C V Operator for Carol Cable Co. for 40 years.
Mr. Juczyk was a WWII Army Veteran serving in Europe and a member of the Fierlit-Korzen A.L. Post 79 of Central Falls.
Besides his wife he leaves 1 son James T. Juczyk of Central Falls, nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Jenny Jeepy Monastesse.
His funeral will be held Tuesday December 13, 2011 at 9:00 a.m . from the Karol A. Pawtucket – Therese R. (Lavallee) Tondreau, 81, passed away Friday, December 9, 2011. She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred R. Tondreau, Sr. Born in Central Falls, a daughter of the late Conrad J. and Bertha C. (Despins) Lavallee, she resided in Pawtucket over forty years. Therese was a sales clerk in the Housewares Department at Ann & Hope, Cumberland for over thirty-five years until retiring. She leaves two sons, A. Roger Tondreau and his wife, Carol of Saline, Michigan and Robert C. Tondreau and his wife, Patricia of Chepachet; a daughter, Michelle A. Surowiec and her husband, Ted of Pawtucket; two brothers, Conrad and Gerard Lavallee; a sister, Lucille Landry; seven grandchildren, Eric, Evan, Emily, Ellen and Zachary Tondreau and Danielle and Kathleen Surowiec; a great-grandson, Jacob Tondreau and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late William J. Tondreau and the sister of the late Rose Souve, Eva Trahan, Aime, Rolland and Leo Lavallee. Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. SMITHFIELD - Dr. James G. Paras, Ed.D., of Smith Avenue, Greenville, died Thursday, December 8, 2011 at the Hospice Inpatient Center. He was the husband of Elizabeth J. (Skally) Paras.
Born in Schenectady, NY, a son of the late George and Eva (Desnakou) Paraskevakos, he lived in Smithfield previously living in North Providence.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his sister Virginia Tesseris of Pawtucket. He was the brother of the late Louis Paras.
Funeral Monday at 10:00am in Assumption Church of the Virgin Mary, 97 Walcott Street, Pawtucket. Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery. Visitation respectfully omitted. FLORIDA - Frances A. Plezia 87, formerly of Lincoln passed away November 15, 2011 at her residence Ormond Beach, FL. She was the beloved wife of the late Mathew J. Plezia who passed away April 3, 1996.
Born in Central Falls she was a daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Kratochwil) Klucznik. She lived in Florida for the past 23 years.
Before retiring she was employed as a Weaver for Murdock Webbing Co. Frances was the Editor of the Holiday Village Newsletter in Ormond Beach and was an avid bowler.
She leaves her loving children Nancy Ferioli and her husband Steven and Thomas F. Plezia and his wife Lorraine all of Lincoln, 5 grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial for both Mr. and Mrs. Plezia will be held Monday December 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church 391 High Street Central Falls, RI. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend.
