Betty Ann Drezek

CUMBERLAND - Betty Ann (O'Leary) Drezek, 68, of Abbey Dr. died Sunday, surrounded by loved ones at the Miriam Hospital, Providence. She was the wife of the late Frank P. Drezek Jr.
Born in Pawtucket she was the daughter of Doris A. (Paquette) Bourassa of Cumberland and the late Frank O'Leary and Norman Bourassa. She resided in Cumberland for the past 44 years.
Mrs. Drezek was a devoted wife, mother and friend. She was a communicant of St. John Vianney Church where she was a Pastoral Care Minister for over 20 years. She was also a Pastoral Care Minister at the Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket for the past 27 years.
She leaves four beloved children, F. Peter Drezek III and Erin Blais both of Cumberland, Stefvan Drezek of Lincoln and KaraBeth Houle of Woonsocket. She was also the adoring grandmother of 11 beautiful grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Robert Bourassa.
A celebration of her life and funeral will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rd. Rte. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. John Vianney Church, Diamond Hill Rd., Cumberland. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. PAWTUCKET - Paul Marczyk, 56, of Pawtucket, passed away unexpectedly at home on December 1, 2011. He was the son of Agnes and Antoni Marczyk and the brother of Angela Mueller. Private family arrangements were made.
Captain Frank A. Reddington, Jr.

Lincoln - Providence Fire Department Captain Frank A. Reddington, Jr., 53, of Whipple Road died Monday, December 19, 2011 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Margaret (McKeon) Reddington. Mr. and Mrs. Reddington were married for 23 years.
Born in Providence, he was a son of retired Pawtucket Police Officer Frank A. Reddington and Ann (Burns) Reddington of Pawtucket. He had lived in Providence for 7 years before moving to Lincoln 16 years ago.
Captain Reddington was a member of the Providence Fire Department for the past 23 years. He had previously worked as a nurse in the Trauma Center at Rhode Island Hospital for 7 years.
He was a member of the International Association of Firefighters, and the Providence Permanent Fireman's Relief Association. He was awarded 3 Department Commendations for Extraordinary Heroism, proudly served on the Fire Department's Honor Guard and served on the Department's entertainment committee.
He was a baseball coach for the Lincoln Little League. He had a love for animals and nature in general.
He was a graduate of Rhode Island College with Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.
Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by two sons, Daniel F. Reddington and Brendan M. Reddington, both of Lincoln; two sisters, Anne E. Kelly and her husband, Joseph of North Attleboro, MA and Mary F. O'Reilly and her husband, John of Lincoln; one brother, John F. Reddington and his wife, Jeanne of Edgewater, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held FRIDAY, DECEMBER 23 at 10 A.M. in the Cathedral of SS. Peter & Paul, Cathedral Square, Providence. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at BELLOWS-FALSO FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln THURSDAY 4-8 P.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Frank's memory to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation, 3962 S. Delaware Street, Englewood, CO 80110 would be appreciated.

CUMBERLAND - Roger N. Brochu, 66, of Marshall Avenue Cumberland, died Sunday at the Home and Hospice Care of RI.
He was born in Attleboro a son of the late Gaetan N. & Dorothy (Robinson) Brochu.
Roger was the owner of the Home Town Reality, and also the Remax Executives, he was also a Real Estate Salesman for many years.
He has lived in Cumberland for over 10 years.
Mr. Brochu was a parishioner of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus, Church in South Attleboro.
He was a sports enthusiast, who liked the New England Patriots, the Boston Red Sox, and Boston Celtics.
Roger also liked spending time with his family.
He is survived by a dear friend Brian Potter and his wife Jen, of Pawtucket, RI, their children, Roger's Godson Nicholas Potter, and also Noah Potter , a brother Mark and his wife Darlene Brochu of Lincoln RI, twin sisters Catherine and her husband Frank Cote of South Attleboro, and Carolyn and her husband Fred Wyatt of South Attleboro.
He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Brochu's funeral will be held Thursday at 8:30am from the Foley - Hathaway Funeral Home, 126 South Main Street, Attleboro, Massachusetts, followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church, 18 Baltic Street, South Attleboro, burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, North Attleboro.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours Wednesday from 4:00pm - 7:00pm.

Edward Zielinski

PAWTUCKET - Edward Zielinski, 86, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2011. He was the beloved husband of the late Marion T. (Comstock) Zielinski.
Born in Central Falls, a son of the late Andrew and Johanna (Nindas) Zielinski, he resided in Pawtucket most of his life. Ed was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran. He was a lab technician at Teknor-Apex until retiring in 1990.
Ed leaves two sons, Edward A. Zielinski, Sr. of Pawtucket and Robert T. Zielinski of Barrington; three grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. He was the brother of Anne Parente of No. Providence, Laura Matonis of Seekonk Mary Viegard of No. Attleboro and the late Sophie Heon, Frank and Stanley Zielinski.
Services with Military Honors at Spring Vale Cemetery, East Providence will be private. Visitation is omitted. Arrangements are with WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home.

CUMBERLAND - Edward J. Carpenter Jr., 57, of Doire Rd. died Saturday in R. I. Hospital, Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Kathleen A. (Doire)Carpenter.
Born in Pawtucket he was the son of Anne (DeCiantis) Carpenter of North Port, FL and Warwick and the late Edward J. Carpenter Sr. He was a life long Cumberland resident.
He was employed in the Engineering Department of Kent Hospital, Warwick for the past 10 years and was previously employed by the former Rizzo Ford Co., North Providence for 17 years.
Besides his mother he leaves four children, Heather L. Carpenter of Pawtucket; Courtney B. Huard, Jonathan E. Carpenter and Jennah R. Carpenter all of Cumberland. Two step sons, Lt. Adam Maziarz U. S. Navy and Andrew Maziarz both of Cumberland. He also leaves a sister Carole Maxwell of North Port, FL; David Carpenter of Lincoln and Scott Carpenter of Cumberland. Mr. Carpenter also leaves three grandchildren, Grant, Blake and Sydney Huard all of Cumberland.

WOONSOCKET - Norman R. Ponton Sr., 48 of 107 Rathbun Street died Sunday at Landmark Medical Center. He was the husband of Debra M. (Worsley) Ponton to whom he was married for 31 years.
Born in Pawtucket, he is a son of Gilbert R. Ponton Sr. of Central Falls and the late Beatrice (Stay) Ponton. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy Fan and a former member of the Sat. Night Mixed Bowling League at East Providence Lanes.
Besides his wife and father, he leaves a son, Norman R. Ponton, Jr. at home, one brother Gilbert R. Ponton, Jr. and a sister Lisa Rawson both of Central Falls and another sister Cheryl Lubbeck of AZ.
Calling hours are from 4-8PM on Wednesday in the CHEETHAM MORTUARY, INC., 1012 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, RI 02861. Cremation will follow.
Freda Thomas

WESTFIELD, MA - Freda Thomas, 92, died Friday, December 16, 2011 in Westfield, MA. She was born in New York City, NY on July 4, 1919 to Saul and Gertie(Goldberg) Wax. Freda lived most of her life in Pawtucket, RI and graduated from Pawtucket East High School.
She was employed as a salesperson at Peerless Department Store in Pawtucket for over forty years, retiring in 1984. Freda enjoyed knitting, reading, and especially her dog Juno.
She leaves her son Tony Stephano of Southwick, MA, a grandson Michael Thomas, nieces Ronnee Wasserman, and Rosalyn Parker, great nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
The funeral and internment will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are omitted. Donations in Freda's memory may be to any Humane Society. Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad St. Westfield, MA 01085 is in charge of arrangements.
Margaret T. Duffy

SEEKONK - Margaret T. Duffy, 84, of Seekonk and formerly of Pawtucket died Saturday, December 17, 2011. She was the former wife of the late Leo Duffy and the longtime companion of the late Benjamin Woz.
Mrs. Duffy was born in Pawtucket, the daughter of the late John T. Holmes and Edith D. (Durand) Holmes. She owned and operated Frances Beauty Salon for many years. Mrs. Duffy was a charter member of the local 830 Theatrical Wardrobe Union. She was employed by the Providence Performing Arts in their wardrobe department.
Mrs. Duffy is survived by her daughters, Frances Duffy and her husband Keavin of Taunton Ma, Helen Ferreira and her husband James of Seekonk Ma. and a son, Fred Duffy of Florida. Mrs. Duffy leaves a sister Frances Howe of North Scituate, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Barbara Healey Pratt and John T. Holmes.
Mrs. Duffy's grandson Sergeant Shane Duffy, United States Army, perished while bravely serving our country in Iraq.
The funeral for Mrs. Duffy will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. from the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Teresa's Church, 358 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket at 11:00 a.m. Her burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. The calling hours for Mrs. Duffy will be Wednesday, December 21, from 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home.

LINCOLN - Jeannette M. Benoit, 65, of Lincoln, died Wednesday at Brigham and Womens Hospital, Boston after a courageous battle. She was the wife of Norman P. Benoit. They had been married 43 years. Born in Montreal, Canada, she was a daughter of Marguerite (Bourbonniere) Blier of Smithfield and the late Albert D. Blier.
She is also survived by her sons Michael Benoit and his wife Laurie of N. Smithfield and Christopher Benoit and his wife Lisa of Cumberland, her sister Debra Blier of Morgan, VT and her grandchildren Kyle and Emily Benoit.
She had been employed by AT Cross Manufacturing Co. prior to her retirement. She loved camping and craft shows, sewing and being with her family.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 8:45 am from the Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Jude Church, Front St., Lincoln. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4-8 pm.
