Joseph Antunes

CUMBERLAND - Joseph "Boss" Antunes, 74, of Roland Street, passed away Saturday at home. He was the husband of Cristine (Tina Machado) Antunes. They had been married for 42 years.
Born in Cumberland he was the son of the late Luiz and Eliza (Gomes) Antunes.
He was a life long Cumberland resident.
Mr. Antunes was employed as a bolt forger for the former Standard Nut and Bolt Company for many years retiring in 1987.
He was a member of the United States Army during peace time.
Besides his beloved wife he leaves his twin sons, Keith "Tuna" Antunes and Craig Antunes, his wife Michelle; two grandsons, Christopher Joseph Antunes, and Matthew Robert Antunes, all of Cumberland; one sister, Ida Pereira of South Attleboro, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late August Antunes, Frank Antunes, Mary Cabral, and Rose Gregorio.
A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday at 11 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.Visiting Hours will be held Tuesday, 2-4 & 6-8 PM.

PAWTUCKET - Blanche (Lefebvre) Sloan, 98, passed away Thursday, November 4, 2010. She was the beloved wife of the late Irving H. Sloan.
Born in Manchester, New Hampshire, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Cora Lacasse) Lefebvre. Blanche resided in Pawtucket before moving to Hacienda Heights,California in 1948, she returned to Pawtucket in 2004. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Ambassador Nursing Home, West Covina, California for fourteen years until retiring in 1988. Blanche was a member of the Emblem Club No. 299, West Covina Lodge.
She leaves her sister, Gloria C. Leonard and her husband Worthington "Sparky" Leonard of Pawtucket; three grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Robert E. Gallagher and the sister of the late Maurice Lefebvre, Roland “Beansey” Lefebvre and Georgette McKeown. Her funeral will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Church of St. Leo the Great, 697 Central Ave., Pawtucket. Private interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery. VISITATION will be Sunday 2 to 4 p.m.

PAWTUCKET:Joseph Newsham, 88, of Norris Ave died Friday. He was the husband of the late Jeannette (Bouley) Newsham. He was the son of the late Wilfred and Cora (Sawyer) Newsham.
He is survived by three daughters: Mary Vallee of New Hampshire, Louise Leonard of Cumberland, Catherine Scotto of North Providence and two sons, Gerard Newsham of Warwick and Timothy Newsham of Glocester, three sisters, Constance O'Hara,Sandra Gorman, Veronica Ingham and one brother Harry Newsham.
He was the father of the late Joseph W. Newsham and the brother of the late Margaret Dulude, Barbara Dasa, Alice Butler, and Daniel Newsham.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday in the Church of St. Leo the Great, Central Ave., Pawtucket, RI at 10 am. Burial will be private.

PAWTUCKET - Jacinto "Jesse" Alicea Jr., 28, of Hazel St. died Sunday in the Roger William Hospital, Providence.
Born in Detroit, MI, he was the beloved son of Margaret (Hevey) Alicea of Pawtucket and the late Jacinto Alicea Sr. He resided in Pawtucket most of his life.
He was employed at Gillette Stadium, Foxboro.
Besides his mother he leaves a sister, Janelle Alicea-Garcia of Pawtucket, a brother, Keith Campagnone of Providence, a brother-in-law Julio Garcia, two nieces and Jett, whom he loved like a son. He was also the maternal grandson of Robert and Bernice (Bellows) Courtemanche of St. Cloud, FL and paternal grandson of the late Augustino and Maria(Ayala-Flores) Alicea. He also leaves many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday with services at 11 a.m., in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rd. Rt. 122, Cumberland. A Private Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Calling hours Saturday morning from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

CUMBERLAND: Joseph M. Richard, 85, of Diamond Hill Rd, passed away November 3, 2010. He was the husband of Theresa (Robideau) Richard, they would have celebrated their 63rd anniversary on November 27th.
Born in Central Falls,he was a son of the late Raoul and Lillian (Berger) Richard.
He had been employed as an electrician at the Newport Navy Base, and previously Natick Labs and at the Navy base at Quonset Point. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII service as a Chief Petty officer first class from 1942 to 1946
Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter, Janet Birt of Cumberland, a son, Arthur Richard of Woonsocket, four brothers, Normand R, Robert J, Fernand R, and Lionel W. Richard, three grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brother Paul.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 8:45am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Aidan Church, Diamond Hill Rd, Cumberland at 10am. Burial with military Honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are invited, calling hours will be held THIS EVENING from 5-8pm.

PROVIDENCE: Allan V. McCrorie 72, of Luna St, passed on November 3, 2010. He was the husband of Sandra J. McCrorie.
Allan had been employed as a computer programming analyst for many years and was an Army Veteran.
Besides his wife he is survived by 7 children, Valerie, Allan, Rebecca, Jarrod, Erica, Tonia and John, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, two brothers, Charles McCrorie and Dr. Edward McCrorie and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Saturday from 11 to 2pm with a prayer service at 2pm followed by Military Honors at the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Burial will be private in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.

HARWICH PORT, MA - Surrounded by her loving family in her Harwich Port, Massachusetts summer home, Helen Christine (Ladd) Luther passed into the hands of her Lord.
Daughter of the late Lloyd A. and Helen (nee Elin) S. (Anderson) Ladd, Helen was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. She and her husband Warren made their home in Pawtucket until retiring in 1989 to Sun City Center, Florida. Helen was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church (later St. Matthew-Trinity) in Pawtucket, St Peter's Lutheran in Harwich, and Redeemer Lutheran in Sun City Center. She is survived by her husband, Charles Warren Luther, Jr., son Charles Alan Luther, daughter Susan L. Luther, brother Lloyd Ladd and his wife Barbara, and granddaughters Elin T. Hersch and Marik E. A Hirsch.
Contributions in her memory may be made to; VNA of Cape Cod Hospice 434, Route 134 D3, South Dennis MA 02660, or to St. Matthew-Trinity Lutheran Church, or St Peter's Lutheran Church, or Redeemer Lutheran Church. A Memorial Service was held on October 27, 2010 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church Route 137 East Harwich MA .

PAWTUCKET: Robert Hanley Jr, 56, of Hunts Ave, passed October 30, 2010. He was the husband of Karen Coyle.
Robert was the loving father of Jamie, Karrie, Joey and Tabitha Coyle and grandfather of twelve. Services were private. Arrangements are by the Keefe Funeral Home, Lincoln.

PAWTUCKET - Lawrence N. Soucy, 77, of Pawtucket, died Monday at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, N. Providence. He was the husband of the late Eva M. (Rivet) Soucy. Born in Sheffield, VT, a son of the late Laurent and Marie (Mathieu) Soucy, he had lived in Lincoln, most of his life. He had been employed by Chase-Butterfly Farm, then Bird & Son and Texas Instrument and most recently as a schoolbus monitor for First Student. Mr. Soucy was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Post #14 of Cumberland for 49 years. He is survived by his daughter Claudette A. Soucy of Cranston, his sons Norman F. Soucy of Pawtucket and Roger L. Soucy of Brimfield, MA, his sisters Theresa Daigle of Grandville, NY, Irene Soucy of Lincoln, Rita Dube of Providence, and Doris Pullano of Cumberland, his grandchildren Alyson LaChapelle, Jay Rushing, Gavin Soucy and Ella Soucy and his companion Lucille Grace of N. Providence. He was the father of the late Richard A. Soucy and the brother of the late Gerard, Leo, Alcide and Robert Soucy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 am in St. Matthew Church, Dexter St., Central Falls. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5-8 at Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln. PAWTUCKET - Hrad H. Zolmian, M.D., 96, of McNeill Street, Carthage, North Carolina and formerly ofPequot Road, Pawtucket died Sunday, October 31, 2010 at home in North Carolina. He was the husband of the late Ruth (Notley) Zolmian and the father of the late Rod S. Zolmian.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late George and Hanoushag (Anderson)Zooloomian.
Dr. Zolmian was a physician in the Blackstone Valley for many years retiring in November 1993. He was a 1936 graduate of Brown University and a 1940 graduate of Harvard University Medical School.
He was a member of the Pawtucket, the Rhode Island, and the American Medical Societies.
A World War II veteran, he served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps in the European Theater.
He is survived by one nephew, Philip Kerrigan of Aliso Viejo, CA; and his caregiver, Carlene Refino of Carthage, NC. He was the brother of the late D. Madeleine Kerrigan.
His funeral will be held WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 3 at 1 P.M. at Historic Swan Point Chapel, 585 Blackstone Boulevard, Providence. Burial will be private.

Born in Pawtucket, a son of Alfredo and Fatima (Fernandes) Barros of Pawtucket. He attended Shea High School.
Besides his parents he is survived by a son, Jahrell, five sisters, Nancy Martins and her fiance Scott Palardy of Pawtucket, Martha Barros and her fiance Adilson Correia of Kissimmee, FL, Charline Barros of Kissimmee, FL, Luana Barros and Paula Barros both of Cape Verde Islands, a brother, Jesse Barros of Roxbury, MA.
His funeral will be heldThursday at 8:30am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John the Baptist Church,Quincy Ave, at 10am. VERMONT - Thelma Hunt, 74 of Fayston, VT, formally of Rumford, RI passed away Thursday, October 28 at Fletcher Allen Hospital with her daughter Brenda and son-in-law Todd by her side.
Thelma was born in Westport, MA on Aug. 2, 1936, the daughter of the late Elmyra Carr and the late Ralph Macomber and wife of the late Robert Hunt. She worked tirelessly her whole life to support her family and to assist with others as a seamstress at Health-Tex Clothing, assembler at Automated Chain, server at Dunkin Donuts, and then after retiring, a Senior Companion at Home Instead and a Foster Grandparent in the Rhode Island elementary school system.
Her strength and determination shined on after her stroke in 2006; she was an inspiration. Thelma touched the lives of many with her smile, care and concern for others. She loved the ocean, feeling her happiest when there.
Thelma leaves behind her daughter, Brenda, son-in-law, Todd, brother Ralph, sister-in-law Marion, several nieces and nephews, along with many friends whose heart she touched.
A memorial service will be held at a future date in Rhode Island. In remembrance of Thelma, donations may be made to Save the Manatee or Paws for Friendship, Inc.
