PAWTUCKET - Roberta Almeida, 80, of Clayton St. died Sunday in the Pawtucket Skilled Nursing Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert Almeida.
Born in Central Falls she was the daughter of the late Robert and Donalda (Dalpe) Mercure. She resided in Pawtucket for the past 65 years.
She was employed by the Woodlawn Federal Credit Union, Pawtucket for 41 years until her retirement in 1990.
She leaves a loving daughter, Michelle Reis and granddaughter Marissa Bisson both of Pawtucket. Mrs. Almeida also leaves a brother in law Edward and his wife Blanche Almeida of South Attleboro, several nieces and nephews and many cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rd. Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Walcott St., Pawtucket. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. John S. Kasulewicz

PAWTUCKET - John S. Kasulewicz, 96, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2010. He was the beloved husband of the late Helen M. (Meers) Kasulewicz.
A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Michael and Mary(Dobnovski) Karsulavitch.
John was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.
He was employed by various textile mills in the Pawtucket area for many years until retiring.
He was the brother of the late Jennie C. Przybyla, Kate Brennan, Charlie, Billy and Bobby Karsulavitch. Services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Historic Swan Point Chapel, 585 Blackstone Blvd., Providence. Interment will follow. Visitation is omitted. Arrangements are with WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, Pawtucket.
Denis M. Gravel

CUMBERLAND - Denis M. Gravel, 66, of Roland St. died Friday in the Memorial Hospital, Pawtucket. He was the beloved husband of Jean M. (Hipolito) Gravel.
Born in Pawtucket he was the son of the late Rolland and Lea (Berthelette) Gravel. He resided in Cumberland for the 37 years previously residing in Pawtucket.
He was employed at the Miriam Hospital as a Respiratory Technician for over 15 years until his retirement. He was previously employed by the Health Tex Corp., Central Falls for over 20 years.
He was a communicant of St. Aidan Church, Cumberland.
Besides his wife he leaves two children, Michelle Lomastro and Michael Gravel both of Pawtucket. Mr. Gravel also leaves four grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Aidan Church, Diamond Hill Rd., Cumberland. Burial will be private. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
Amadeu "Aime" Pereira

CUMBERLAND - Aime Pereira, known in area for years in the auto and racing community died Saturday.
Amadeu "Aime" Pereira of Cumberland, Rhode Island,devoted husband of Marion(McCarthy) Pereira with whom he shared 57 years of marriage. Born in 1927, Aime died peacefully on November 13 at age 83 surrounded by his loving family.
Brother of Eva Valentine and Laura Kelleher and the late Augustus "Gus" Pereira of Cumberland, RI. Dedicated father of John F. Pereira and fiance Debbie Silva of Pawtucket, RI, Peter A. Pereira and wife Pamela of Cranston, RI, Paul A. Pereira of Brighton, MA, Anthony Tony M. Pereira and wife Lenore of Ocala, FL and James M. Pereira and wife Brenda of Cumberland, RI. Loving grandfather of 11 grandchildren and great-grandfather of 5 great-grandchildren.
Aime was a lifelong resident of Cumberland, RI who spent 50 plus years working as an automotive machinist in and around the Blackstone Valley. As recently as September of this year, Aime worked as a driver for Anchor Subaru of Smithfield.
A veteran of WWII, Aime greatly enjoyed his garden and yard and was a huge fan of NASCAR and the Boston Red Sox. All who came to know Aime could only speak highly of him and considered him a friend that they could rely on.
A celebration of his life will take place Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Aidan Church, Diamond Hill Rd., Cumberland. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. CUMBERLAND - Fernando Lourenco Sr., 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday. Fernando was born in the Valley Falls section of Cumberland on June 26, 1920. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Piedade (Freitas) Lourenco. He was the son of the late Jose and Maria (daPatrocino) Lourenco of Lamegal, Portugal.
Fernando was a machinist at the former Standard Nut & Bolt, Cumberland for many years retiring 27 years ago. He was an avid gardener, loved carpentry work, music and soccer. He was a proud member of the Club Juventude Lusitana and Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cumberland. He was also a member of the Uniao Beneficente, Pawtucket.
Beside his wife, he leaves two sons, Fernando Lourenco Jr., and his wife Mickey of Warwick; Joseph Lourenco and his wife Jeanne of Cumberland. One daughter Alice Sproviero and her husband Steve of Scottsdale, AZ. He also leaves one sister Ines Sarmento; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Leonidio, Amelia Silva, Aurora Silva and Gracinda Fonseco. His devotion to family included all nieces, nephews and cousins which were always dear to him.
A Celebration of his Life will be held Monday at 9 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland. LINCOLN - Joseph E. Ryan, 73, of Lincoln, died Thursday at Miriam Hospital. He was the husband of Jennifer M. (Schabowski) Ryan. They had been married 50 years. Born in Woonsocket, a son of the late William J. and Gertrude C.(Garrett) Ryan, he had lived in Lincoln most of his life. Mr. Ryan had been employed by the State of RI Dept. of Labor. He was an Army veteran of the Viet Nam War. His brother Kenneth F. Ryan of Seekonk and numerous nieces and nephews survive him. He was the brother of the late William J. Ryan Jr. and Edwin Ryan.
His funeral will be held on Monday at 9:15 am from the Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Jude Church, Front St., Lincoln. Burial with full Military Honors will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland. Calling hours are from 7:45 to 9:15 am Monday morning. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society N.E. FLORIDA - Shirley Starsiak 82, formerly of EP passed away November 8 at Hope Hospice in Fort Myers FL.She leaves her Beloved daughter Gail and son-in law Jerry Blain of Ft. Myers Beach with whom she made her home for the past 3 years.
Born in Central Falls to the late Irene and Thomas Flaxington, she was also a stepdaughter to the late James Hindle. She was the mother of the late Gary Starsiak. Shirley also leaves a sister, June Schricker in California.
Before retiring she worked for the Fram Corp.in East Providence for 32 years. She loved bowling and the Red Sox. She was also a member of the Emblem Club of Pawtucket and a ticket seller for Pawtucket Community Players. Donations in her memory may be made to Hospice House, Fort Myers FL. A memorial service will be held at a later date in RI.

CUMBERLAND - Shirley E. (Drummond) Alix, 90, of Cumberland, died on Tuesday at Mt. St. Rita Health Centre in Cumberland. She was the wife of the late Clifford L. Alix.
Born in Pawtucket on May 10, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Mildred(Cheney) Drummond.
Mrs. Alix was employed by the former Almacs Supermarket as a clerk for several years prior to retiring.
She was a longtime member of the Cumberland Community Methodist Church where she participated in church activities, served as a volunteer on numerous committees and was a member of the church choir.
Her favorite pastimes included taking car trips with her husband to the mountains and Cape Cod and enjoying cruises. In earlier years, she was a volunteer with the Brownie and Girl Scout programs.
She leaves three children: Joyce Francavilla and her husband, Salvatore, of Fairfield, NJ;Jeffrey Alix and his wife, Kerry, of Laguna Hills, CA and Thomas Alix and his wife, Ricki, of Pahrump, Nevada; a son-in-law: George Hamod of Cumberland, husband of her late daughter, Judith C. Hamod; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; a sister: June Stroscia of Pawtucket and several nieces and nephews and extended family members.
She was the maternal grandmother of the late Todd Francavilla. She was the sister of the late Stella Watts, Lois Dawson and Russell Drummond.
Visitation respectfully omitted.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Cumberland Community Methodist Church, 481 Broad Street, Cumberland.
Burial will be private in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
Following church services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments in the church.

Armand E. Lapierre

SARASOTA, Fla. - Armand E. Lapierre, 84, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2010. He was the beloved husband of the late Laura M. (Marcotte) Lapierre.
Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Alfred G. Lapierre, Sr. and Diana M. (Beauchaine) Lapierre. Armand was a longtime resident of Pawtucket before moving to Florida, after retirement he enjoyed spending summers in Rhode Island.
He was a World War II US Army veteran, and a Life member of LeFoyer.
Armand was the proprietor of Darlington Sash and Door Company, Pawtucket for 21 years until retiring in 1983.
He leaves a son, Armand E. Lapierre, Jr. of Warwick; a daughter, Elaine M. Lapierre of Pawtucket; two granddaughters, Nicole and Jamie Lapierre and nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Arthur E. and Alfred G. Lapierre, Jr.
VISITATION will be Sunday 2 to 5 p.m. at WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery. PAWTUCKET - Clara I.Blake, 92, of Ashburne Street, Pawtucket, passed away on Wednesday,November 10, 2010 at The Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket.
She was born in Central Falls, the daughter of the late Eugene and Margaret (Lydon) Poirier and was the beloved wife of Lawrence T. Blake Jr. She was employed as an assembler for the Fram Corporation for 18 years retiring in 1980.
Besides her husband, Clara leaves two sons, Lawrence T. Blake III of Pawtucket and Thomas J. Blake of Denver Colorado and a daughter, Faith Allis of Windsor, Colorado. She also is survived by her four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral for Mrs. Blake will be Monday at 10:00 am from the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Teresa's Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Mt. St. Mary's Cemetery. The calling hours will be Sunday from 3-5 pm in the funeral home. PAWTUCKET - Grover J. McParlin Jr., "Joe", 54, of Saratoga Avenue, Pawtucket died Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at the Miriam Hospital in Providence.
He was born in Providence, the son of Kathleen (Burns) McParlin of Greenville and the late Grover J. McParlin Sr. He was the loving husband of Lise D. (Cousineau) McParlin for 25 years. Joe was employed by Hot Stuff Inc., a food vendor based in Warwick, RI.
Besides his wife, he leaves three children, Michael McParlin of Providence and Brian and Kyle McParlin, both of Pawtucket. He also leaves eight brothers and sisters.
The funeral for Mr. McParlin will be Saturday at 10:00am from the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Cecilia's Church, 1253 Newport Ave., Pawtucket at 11:00 am. The calling hours will be Friday 4-7 pm. Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence, RI.
