Armand E. Roy
July 20, 2008

Armand E. Roy 87 of Bloodgood Street died Sunday at home. He was the husband of Marie Y. (Picard) Roy. Mr & Mrs Roy celebrated their 59th Wedding Anniversary last April.

Born in St. Hughes, Canada he was the son of the late Aime and Aldea (Van Dale) Roy. Mr. Roy and his wife owned and operated the former Blue Bonnet Cafe on Broadway Pawtucket for over 35 years retiring in 1985.

Mr. Roy was a Staff Sgt. for the US Army serving during WWll and received the Silver Star for gallantry in action at Pasay Rizal in the Philippine Islands.He held membership in the Elks Club of Pawtucket, Garfield Social Club of Central Falls and the Dip Club. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Consolation Church and a resident of Pawtucket since 1925.

Surviving besides his wife are four sons; Dennis A Roy of Budd Lake NJ Alan M Roy of Princeton ME Robert C Roy of Cumberland and David P Roy of Pawtucket. One daughter Doreen M. Roy of Pawtucket. Two sisters Aline Roberts and Theresa Morin both of Pawtucket.. Three grandsons and five granddaughters. One Great grandson and one Great granddaughter.Mr. Roy was the brother of the late Henry, Ange, Charles and Maurice Roy. Louise Phaneuf, Marie Lacaille, Rose Jutras amd Constance Dumont.

The Funeral will be held Thursday at 9:00am from the CHEETHAM MORTUARY 1012 Newport Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am in Our Lady of Consolation Church Sabin Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Wednesday 4 -8pm. In lieu of flowers donations are requested to be made to Hospice 169 Groege Street Pawtucket in Mr. Roy's memory.

J. Regina Kaveny

J. Regina Kaveny, 92 of Booth Avenue, a retired School Teacher, died Saturday surrounded by her loving family at her home.

Born in Pawtucket and a lifelong resident of the city, she was the daughter of the late Patrick J. and Julia (McCabe) Kaveny.

Ms. Kaveny graduated from Rhode Island College Class of 1939 and taught at the former Middle St and Grove St Schools and later Henry J. Winters School all of Pawtucket retiring in 1980. She was a Charter Member of the Pawtucket Teachers Alliance and Sacred Heart Guild.

Ms Kaveny held membership in the All Breed Cat Club of RI and was Past Treasurer as well as the Amer Federation of Teachers, Retired Blackstone Valley and RI Amer Federation of Teachers, the Leisure Club of St Margaret's and enjoyed her many trips especially to Hawaii. An avid sports fan following the Red Sox and Patriots.

Surviving are one daughter Susan E. Davies,one brother John P and his wife Mary Ann Kaveny, one sister Margaret Kelly and one grandson Alex and his wife Lori Davies and two nephews all of Pawtucket. Ms Kaveny was the sister of the late Francis and Rita Kaveny.

A Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 in Sacred Heart Church Park Street. Burial will be in Mt St Mary Cemetery.

Rita J. (Morgan) Johnson
August 8, 2008

Rita J. (Morgan) Johnson 91 formerly of Wood Haven Road died Friday at the Oak Hill Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Edward L. Johnson.

Born in Pawtucket and a lifelong resident of the cilty, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Carney) Morgan.

She was a volunteer at Memorial Hospital for many years and gardening was her hobby.

Mrs. Johnson was pre-deceased by her brother Thomas Morgan and two sisters Gertrude Helm and Elizabeth Flannery and a cousin Mary C. Morgan.

A Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:00am in St Teresa Church 358 Newport Avenue. Burial will be in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery.

Terrence H. Anderson
August 13, 2008

Terrence H. Anderson, 21, of Clifford Circle, Pleasanton, CA died suddenly at home on Aug. 13, 2008. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs.Walter G Anderson, Jr. of North Kingstown and Meg and Raymond Shideler of Cranston. He was the grandson of Walter Anderson of North Kingstown and the late Barbara (Barnes) Anderson and also of Thomas and Dorothea (Nary) Heston of Cranston. He attended Cranston West High School.

Besides his parents and grandparents he is survived by seven brothers, Brendan, Michael, Patrick, Richard, Jonathan, Walter and Jared and two sisters, Abigail and Cassidy. He leaves several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Memorial Mass to which relatives and friends are invited will be celebrated in Holy Apostle Church, 800 Pippin Orchard Road, Cranston on Saturday at 10 am. Donations may be made to The Terry Anderson Scholarship Fund, P. O. 8744, Cranston, RI 02920.

Raymond Breton Sr.
November 23, 2010

CENTRAL FALLS - Raymond Breton Sr., "Pepere" 99, formerly of Samoset Ave, passed away peacefully at Oakland Grove Health Center on November 20, 2010. He was the husband of Germaine (Daunais) Breton.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Philias and Rosana (Latimer) Breton.
He had been employed as a mechanic for over 30 years.
He is survived by a daughter, Yvette Perrone of Seekonk, Ma, and a son, Raymond Breton Jr, and his wife Lucille of Berkley, MA, three grandchildren, Donna Cabral, Suzanne Therrien and Ken Johnson, four great grandchildren, McKayla, Rebecca, Melina and Alyssa.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are invited, calling hours will be held Monday from 5 until 8pm.

Antoinette M. Smith
November 23, 2010

CUMBERLAND - Antoinette M. Smith, 92 of Cumberland, died Wednesday at Woonsocket Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Edward H. Smith. Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late Peter J. and Hilda (Ladebauche) Cardin,she had lived most of her life in Cumberland.
Mrs. Smith was employed in the marketing department at Ann & Hope Stores. Her sons Edward J. Smith of Cumberland, Peter N. Smith of Clinton, CT, John P. Smith of Portland, OR, and Thomas A. Smith of TN, her daughters Janet M. Taylor of Portland, OR and Paulette M. Kennett of Burrillville, her sister Anita Garon of Cumberland, 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren survive her. She was the sister of the late Norman and Ernest Cardin and Jeannette Myers.
A Mass of Christian Burialwill be celebrated on Monday at 9:00 am at St. Patrick Church, Broad St., Cumberland. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Calling hours are Sunday from 3-7 at Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln.

Anthony J. Oleska

PAWTUCKET - Anthony J. Oleska, 84, of Pawtucket, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2010. He was the husband of Norma (Temple) Oleska. Born in Central Falls, he was the son of the late Frank and Sophie (Nowak) Oleska. Mr. Oleska was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. In World War II he served aboard the destroyer, USS McNulty. In the Korean War he served aboard the Aircraft Carrier, USS Rendover. He had worked for Collyer Wire for many years before retiring. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Carla Oleska of Easthampton, MA, and Deborah Lalime of Pascoag, three sisters, Bertha Szlashta of Lincoln, Pauline Sullivan of Virginia, and Helen Corredora of Cumberland, two grandchildren, Damon and Danielle Lalime, and two great grandchildren, Morgan and Madison Lalime. He was the brother of the late Josephine Cluin, Lucy Kwolek, and Catherine Aylward. Visiting hours will be held Sunday, November 21, 2010 from 2-5pm with a Celebration of his Life at 4pm in the COSTIGAN-O'NEILL Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket. The funeral and burial will be private. Arthur Charles Laperche

CUMBERLAND - Arthur Charles "Art" Laperche, born November 6, 1928, passed away November 18, 2010 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence at the age of 82 years old. Born in Pawtucket on Newport Ave., he lived in Cumberland most of his life. He was the son of the late Honora S. (Blanchette) Laperche-Smith, and Charles H. Laperche and stepson of the late Clarence E. Smith.
He worked for Teknor Apex in Pawtucket as a Plant Supervisor for 36 years. Arthur loved his work and his family.
He leaves his beloved wife of 56 years, Rose C. (Vandal) Laperche. He also leaves a devoted daughter Paulette R. Henry and son in law Michael J. Henry of Pawtucket and his beloved dog Ebony. He also leaves two brothers, Robert W. Laperche Sr. of Cumberland and Ronald N. Laperche of Little Rock, AR. He was the brother of the late Norman S. Laperche Sr of Clearwater FL.
He also leaves three nieces, Beverly A. Mandeville of Cumberland, Rhonda L. Alicchio of Westerly and Jackie M. McLelland of Little Rock, AR. Four nephews, Norman S. Laperche Jr. of New Port Richey, FL, Robert W. Laperche Jr. (God Son) of Cumberland, Allan L. Laperche of Exeter and Paul M. Laperche of Tulsa, OK.
He was a U. S. Army veteran serving as a corporal with the Army Corps of Engineers stationed in Panama.
He was a member of the Arnold Mills Methodist Church, Cumberland, serving on the Board of Trustees and he was also involved with the cemetery association. Arthur enjoyed life after his retirement canoeing, fishing, swimming, woodworking, working around his house, working out at Fore Court Racket and Health Club, Cumberland but most of all enjoyed being with his family. He was also an avid fly fisherman and excelled at fly tying and belonged to many fly fishing organizations.
Arthur's wishes were to be cremated and to be remembered as he was in life. He will be buried at Evergreen Cemetery, Cumberland, next to his church. A private service will be held at his request.

Robert Anthony Labonte, Jr.
November 18, 2010

WARWICK: Robert Anthony Labonte Jr, age 42, passed November 17, 2010. Born in Pawtucket, RI on April 5, 1968. He was the son of Ann-Marie LePage and Robert A. Labonte. He attended school on the west coast and later in Augusta, Georgia. Robert and his family later returned to Rhode Island. He had a love and natural gift for music at an early age and performed with several bands in New England Clubs and charitable organizations. Prior to his illness, he was employed as a machinist for Standard Mill and Mark Precision Co. Robert was challenged by many medical hardships before passing.
He leaves his saddened mother and grandmother, Rose Babigian both of Warwick. He had become a great brother to Alexander Gold. Bob was the grandson of the late Joseph Aurelio, Bob Babigian, Oscar and Mary Labonte. He was the nephew of Jacqueline Aurelio and the late Fred Aurelio, cousin to Michael Aurelio, Monique Aurelio and their beautiful children. He will be remembered by family for his sensitive caring personality and spiritual strength. His friends will remember him for his admired music and gift for song writing and composition.
Calling hours will be held Saturday, November 20, 2010 from noon until 2 pm followed by a prayer service at 2 pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln, RI. In lieu of flowers please do something special for someone in need.

Manuel Teixeira

PAWTUCKET: Manuel Teixeira, 58, passed away November 17, 2010 at home with his loving family by his side. He was the devoted husband of Shirley Teixeira.
Born in Brava, Cape Verde, a son of the late Manuel Cunha and Aurora Teixeira.
He was the proprietor and head chef of Cantina di Marco Restaurant of Cumberland.
Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, John P. Teixeira and his wife Jill of Cumberland and Manuel Teixeira of Pawtucket, a daughter, Maria Teixeira of Vermont, three brothers, Roberto, Joao and Alberto Teixeira, two sisters, Cynthia Deltano and Celina O’Brien, two grandsons, two granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews including Antonio J. Teixeira. He was brother of the late Antonio Teixeira.
His funeral will be held Monday at 9:30am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in Historic St. Joseph Church, Mendon Rd, Cumberland at 11am. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Relatives and friends are invited, calling hours will be held Sunday 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Alice L. Haworth

Pawtucket- Alice L. (Santos) Haworth, 79, died Tuesday at the Miriam Hospital. She was the wife of the late Richard Haworth Sr. Born in Portsmouth, RI, she was the daughter of the late Antone and Louise (Perry) Santos.
Mrs. Haworth was a communicant of St. Teresa church and had worked for the former Seekonk Lace of Pawtucket and later as a Lunch-aide at the Veteran's Memorial Elementary School in Central Falls.
Surviving are one son Joseph M. Prato of Pawtucket and five daughters; Mary Ann L. Santos and Jeannette M. Fagundes both of East Providence, Tracey A. Prato of Pawtucket, Marianne Gendron of Seekonk, MA and Cynthia Gaboriault of MS., one sister Mary daigneault of Warwick, four grandsons and five granddaughters and one great granddaughter.
The Funeral will be held Friday at 10:00am at the CHEETHAM MORTUARY 1012 Newport Ave. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 in St Teresa Church 358 Newport Ave. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Cumberland. Visitation will be FRIDAY BEGINNING AT 9:00AM.

LINCOLN - Lucille A. Cardosa, 90, died Saturday at The Holiday Retirement Center. Born in Central Falls, she was a daughter of the late Philias A. and RoseAlma (Bellerose) Robert. She had been employed as a classified telemarketer for the Pawtucket Times prior to her retirement.
Her sons, John Cardosa of Atlanta, GA, Robert Cardosa of Cumberland and Thomas Cardosa of Warwick, 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews survive her. She was the sister of the late Edmond Robert and Claire Oakley.
Her funeral will be held on Friday at 10:15 am from the Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Historic St. Joseph Church, Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Calling hours are Friday from 8:30 to 10:15 am. PAWTUCKET. Maria "Julia" Gomes, passed away on Monday after an illness. She was the wife of Joaquim Gomes.
Born in Guarda, Portugal and migrated to the United States in 1970.
She had been employed at Murdock Webbing for several years.
Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Maria Barbosa and a son Manuel Gomes both of Pawtucket and Antonio Gomes of No. Providence; a sister Lucinda DosAnjos and a brother Francisco Martins both of Pawtucket and 6 Grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held Friday at 9 AM from the CHARLES COELHO Funeral Home, 151 Cross S. Central Falls, with a Mass of Christian Burial in the upper church of St. Mary's, Pine Street, Pawtucket at 10 AM. VISITATION, Thursday, 5-8 PM.

Louis H. Paquin
November 17, 2010

CENTRAL FALLS - Louis H. Paquin, 91 of Central Falls, died on Sunday, November 14th at Home & Hospice Care of RI. He was the son of the late Omer J. and Victoria (Goderre) Paquin. He was the beloved husband of Eva (Brule) Paquin to whom he was married in 1947 and who died in 2004.
He attended St. Mathieu's School, Samuel Slater Junior High School and graduated from Central Falls High School in 1937. Subsequently, he took evening classes at Bryant College. He enlisted in the US Army on December 5, 1941, Pearl Harbor Bombing weekend, as a private and remained on duty until May, 1946 when he has reached the rank of 1st Lieutenant. Being recalled to active duty, he served in Korea in 1950-51. He was the first RI State Commander of the Franco-American War Veterans, VFW of Central Falls where he was a member of the Personnel Board for 10 years, and where he was a candidate for mayor in 1946. He was a former member of the Board of Directors of the Dexter Credit Union. He was a member, past secretary and past president of LeFoyer in Pawtucket. Employed by Monet Jewelers in Providence for 45 years, he retired as manager of its distribution facility in 1983.
Survivors are 7 nieces and nephews and 18 great and great-great grand nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Cecile E. Chadwick.
The funeral will be held Saturday (Nov. 20) at 9:00 AM from the DARLINGTON MORTUARY OF L. HEROUX & SON, 1042 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Matthew Church (Holy Spirit Parish) 1030 Dexter Street, Central Falls. Calling hours will be on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Burial with Military Honors will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904 would be appreciated.

Manuel Cardoza III

CENTRAL FALLS - Manuel Cardoza III, 51 of Clay St., died Friday at home. Born in Pawtucket he was the beloved son of Manuel V. and Lucinda (Catarina) Cardoza.
He was a steel worker formerly employed by the Washburn Wire Co., East Providence for a number of years, leaving the company due to a disability.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church. Manuel was an avid outdoorsman and a member of the AARP and the Tropical Fish Society of RI, where he was a breeder. Also he graduated from Central Falls High School in 1977 and was a varsity member of the wrestling team, being chosen as MVP his senior year. One of the greatest joys of his life was spending time with his nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he leaves one brother, Albert Cardoza of Cumberland and three sisters Luci Martins and Bernadette Kelly both of Cumberland and Theresa Moniz of Central Falls. He also leaves aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and great nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held Thursday at 8 a.m. from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rd. Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Dr., Cumberland. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Calling hours Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a favorite charity of your choice.

Elizabeth A. Chartier

PAWTUCKET - Elizabeth A. (McKenna) Chartier, 88, passed away Monday, November 15, 2010. She was the beloved wife of the late Dona N. Chartier. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late George Burrows and Alice McKenna.
Betty was a cashier at Ann & Hope, Cumberland for almost thirty years until retiring. She leaves a son, Robert J. Chartier, Sr. and his wife Grace; three grandsons, Robert, Jr., Scott and Mark Chartier and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Interment will follow at Mt. St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation is omitted. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904 would be appreciated.

LINCOLN - Theresa C. Sneesby, 80, of Lincoln, died Friday at RI Hospital. She was the devoted wife of Edward A. Sneesby for 55 years.
Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Maria (Lanca) OConnor. She is survived by her son Robert Sneesby of Johnston, her daughters Patricia A. Mongeau of Lincoln and Cynthia M. LaRose and her companion David Rebello of Coventry, her sister Patricia Hannan of Daytona Beach, FL, 6 grandchildren, and 2 step grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers Robert and Edward.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:15 am from Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Jude Church, Front St., Lincoln. Burial will be in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours are Thursday from 8:30 to 9:15 am. In lieu of flowers, donations to the National Kidney Foundation, 125 Carlsbad St, Cranston, RI 02920 would be appreciated.
