PAWTUCKET - Pablo Ordonez, 65 passed February 9th. He was the husband of Janire C. (Cumplido) Ordonez.
Pablo was Born in Barranquilla, Colombia, arriving in the United States in 1980.
He had been employed in the Webbing Industry till taking ill.
Besides his wife he is survived by 4 daughters, Sandra Greco, Liliana Silva, Regina Ordonez and Melinda Ordonez, 3 brothers, Salomon, Jose and Ruben Ordonez all of Barranquilla, Colombia, a sister, Blanca Ordonez of Carolina, 6 grandchildren, Efrain, Cassandra, Brandon, Mariana, Antonio and Jocelyn, 2 nephews, Giovanny and Newton and a niece, Pao Perez.
His funeral will be held Monday at 8:45am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in St John the Baptist Church, Capitol St, Pawtucket at 10am. Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 5 to 8pm. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA, 02241.

Vincenza J. Duranleau
February 27, 2012

PAWTUCKET- Vincenza J. (Cioe) Duranleau, 89, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 25, 2012. She was the beloved wife of the late Henry J. Duranleau.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Adeline (Tomei) Cioe.
Vincenza worked as a cashier at The Fair in Cumberland for many years before her retirement. She was a former member of LeFoyer Club, Pawtucket and a member of Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
She leaves two children, Adele L. Barnatowicz of Harrisville and Henry J. Duranleau of Warwick; two brothers, George and Mario Cioe; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Rev. Anthony Cioe, O.F.M. and Hugo Cioe.
Her funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Church of St. Leo the Great, 697 Central Ave., Pawtucket. Interment will follow at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITATION Wednesday 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, gifts to the Franciscan Missionary Union, 135 West 31st St., New York, NY 10001-3403 will be appreciated.

Lillian Joyce

PAWTUCKET- Lillian Joyce, 89, died on Saturday at home. She was the wife of the late Robert J. Joyce Sr.
Born in Pawtucket, and a lifelong resident of the city, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Alice Rushton.
Prior to retirement, she had been employed as a spinner at the former Lebanon Knitting Mills. She loved her family and was devoted especially to her grandchildren.
Survivors are three daughters: Linda Joyce of Pawtucket, Deborah Trepannier of Assonet, Mass. and Kathleen Huber o Lakeville, Minn; two sons, James Joyce of Pawtucket and Robert Joyce Jr. of Lincoln; one sister Annie Clement of Twinsburg, Ohio; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Darlington Mortuary of L. Heroux & Son, 1042 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Calling hours in the funeral home will be on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.

Gerald L. Dusablon
February 27, 2012

CUMBERLAND- Gerald L. Dusablon, 85, of Canning St. passed away Thursday in the Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was the husband of the late Lucille (Gasse) Smith.
Born in Woonsocket he was the son of the late Leo and Alice (Menard) Dusablon. He resided in Cumberland for the past 21 years previously living in Pawtucket.
He owned the former Stanley's Bar, Dexter St. for 18 years retiring in 1997.
Mr. Dusablon was also a WW II, U. S. Navy veteran serving with Seabees in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre. He was also a member of the former VFW, Lefebvre Post Central Falls.
He leaves two daughters, Sharon Paulin and her husband Jeffrey of Seekonk and Gail Thomas and her husband Steve Adams of Burrillville. One sister, Claire Bart of Cumberland and four grandchildren and five great grand children. He was also the brother of the late Norman Dusablon and Vivian Hoover.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rte. 122, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Calling hours Wednesday evening from 5 to 8 pm.

Elizabeth M. Diggett
February 27, 2012

PAWTUCKET- Elizabeth M. "Betty" Diggett 81 of Brook Court, Pawtucket, died Friday, February 24, 2012. She was the wife of the late Ronald C. Diggett Sr.
Mrs. Diggett was born in Stonington CT, the daughter of the late Orrin and Elizabeth (Needham) Spencer.
She was a Bus Monitor for the City of Pawtucket for many years, working until she was 80 years old. Betty had the amazing ability to make all those she met feel as if they were a part of her family and belonged to her.
Mrs. Diggett is survived by her children, Ronald C. Diggett Jr. and his wife Mavis of Ozark Missouri, Colleen Harwood and her husband Richard of Norwich Ct, and Bruce W. Diggett of Overland Park, Kansas and his former wife Dianne Diggett of Pawtucket. She also leaves her sister Kathleen Handley of Pawcatuk CT and her grandchildren, Amy Demelo, Ronald C. Diggett III, Brian Diggett, Leanne Diggett, and Bethany Diggett and her three great grandchildren, Aiden Demelo, Addison Demelo and Ian Demelo.
The funeral for Mrs. Diggett will be Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. from the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Teresa's Church, 358 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket at 10:00 a.m. Her burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Daysville CT. The calling hours for Mrs. Diggett will be Tuesday 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Make a Wish Foundation, 1010 Warwick Avenue Warwick RI in Betty's memory.

Lionel O. Palin

CENTRAL FALLS- Lionel "Leo" O. Palin, 86, passed away Friday. He was the former husband of the late Claire M. (Morrisey) Palin with whom he will be laid to rest in eternal peace.
Born in Central Falls he was the son of the late Oscar and Louise (Charpentier) Palin. He was a Central Falls resident for most of his life but had also lived in Cumberland.
Mr. Palin was a truck driver employed by the former Law Trucking Co., Lincoln for 25 years until his retirement. After his retirement his mission in life was to serve and spread the Word of The Lord.
He was a WW II, U. S. Marine Corps veterans serving in the Asiatic Pacific
Theatre and participated in action on Okinawa from April to July 1945. He was also a member of Teamsters Local 251.
He was the beloved father of four daughters, Carole H. Borek of Cumberland, RI; Nancy R. Latimer of Riverside, RI; Candice M. Lescoe of Windsor, CT and Lori A. Ouellette of Attleboro, MA. Mr. Palin also leaves six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A celebration of his life and funeral with military honors will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rd. Rte. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St.. John Vianney Church, Diamond Hill Rd., Cumberland. Burial will follow in Resurrections Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Calling hours Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Irene A. Rhodes

EAST PROVIDENCE - Irene "Irish" A. (Whalen) Rhodes, 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 24, 2012. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph H. Rhodes, Sr.
Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Captain Joseph V. Whalen, Pawt. Fire Dept., Hose Co. #6 and Florence A. (Cournoyer) Whalen. Irene was a member of St. Teresa's Seniors, The Royal Travelers and the Attleboro Lodge of Elks # 1014.
She leaves a daughter, Elaine T. DiAngelo and her husband, Don of Seekonk; two grandchildren, Christine Noel Simao and her husband, George of East Providence and Robert J. Tweedly deployed to Iraq; two great-grandchildren, Jarrid R. and Barbara E. Tweedly; two sisters-in-law, Lorraine Whalen and Alice Maloney and several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Irene was the mother of the late Joseph H. Rhodes, Jr. and sister of the late Vincent E. Whalen.
VISITATION will begin Wednesday at 11 a.m. followed by Services at Noon at WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Interment will follow at Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, gifts to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005 will be appreciated.

Edwardo C. Barbeiro
February 27, 2012

PAWTUCKET- Edwardo C. Barbeiro, of Beverage Hill Avenue, Pawtucket died Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the husband of Zelia (Machado) Barbeiro.
Mr. Barbeiro was born in the Azores, the son of the late Jose I. Barbeiro and Maria J. (Sousa) Carreiro. He was employed at American Insulated Wire for many years.
Besides his wife Mr. Barbeiro is survived by his children, Joseph Carreiro of North Providence, Edith Costa of East Providence, Mario Barbeiro and Richard Barbeiro, of Sterling CT, Maria M. Mota, Arnold Barbeiro and Zelia Teves, all of Pawtucket, . He also had fourteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
The funeral for Mr. Barbeiro will be Thursday at 9:00 a.m. from the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket. There will be a
Mass of Christian Burial in St. Teresa's Church, 358 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in Mt. St. Mary's Cemetery, Pawtucket
The calling hours for Mr. Barbeiro will be Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home.

Richard R. Fournier
February 24, 2012

CUMBERLAND- Richard R. Fournier, 55 of Cumberland died Tuesday at home.
Born in Central Falls he was the son of Raoul Fournier and the late Janette (Pelletier) Fournier.
Richard worked as a shuttle operator at Anchor Subaru of North Smithfield. He was an avid sports fan and history enthusiast.
Beside his father he is survived by two brothers, Ronald Fournier of Lincoln and Peter Fournier of Cumberland; four sisters, Jeanne Nava of Hope Valley, Ann Fournier of Pawtucket, Elaine Laliberte of Burrillville and Michelle Labossiere of Lincoln; he is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
His funeral will be held on Monday 9:00 a.m. at the LACHAPELLE FUNERAL HOME, 643 Main St., Pawtucket with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John the Baptist Church, Slater Street, Pawtucket at 10:00 a.m. Richard's life will be celebrated with calling hours on Sunday from 2:00 -- 5:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.

Sgt. Donald James Stevens (ret)
April 12, 1923 - August 4, 2004
Sgt. Donald James Stevens (ret) of New York, passed away late in the evening of August 4, 2004 at his home on the lower east side, surrounded by family and friends.
A former councilman and elder at the First Baptist Church, Donald was always active in the community whether it be working on a political campaign, volunteering at the homeless shelter, or through the local Lyons Club.
Donald leaves behind a daughter Stephanie Stevens, a son Donald A. Stevens, and 6 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife of 42 years Norma Whitfield Stevens.
Donald was born in Salem Oregon on April 12, 1923 to Emma Jane Stevens and Alfred Stevens. Donald's father Alfred was a Captain in the Navy and Donald spent much of his youth overseas. The family returned to Salem in when Donald was 16, where he graduated from Salem High School in 1941.
Donald enlisted in the Marines in 1941 and served Honorably in WWII and was a veteran of the Normandy invasion. Donald Retired from the Marine Corps in 1960 and opened a hardware/hobby shop in New York City. It was in New York where Donald met his wife Norma, and where they raised their family.
