Armande M. Rousseau - Burrillville
Armande M. Rousseau, 95, of South Main Street, Pascoag, died March 24 at Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket.
She was the wife of the late Alfred Rousseau. Born in Canada, she was a daughter of the late Casimir and Artimise (Robert) Gibeau. She was a homemaker. She leaves eight children, Theresa R. Hebert of Blackstone, Leo R. Rousseau and Wilfred R. Rousseau, both of Woonsocket, Alfred R. Rousseau, Robert R. Rousseau and Albert R. Rousseau, all of Bellingham, Mass., Irene R. Labrie of Sarasota, Fla., and Claire R. Theroux of Pascoag; 34 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Edgar R. Rousseau and Alice R. Brin.
Her funeral will be held Friday, March 28, at 9 a.m. from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in All Saints Church, Rathbun Street, Woonsocket. Burial will be held in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham, Mass. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
Bonnie Jean Alotta - Cumberland
Bonnie Jean (Baker) Alotta, 47, of Cumberland died March 24 at home.
Born in Providence, the daughter of Francis K. and Marilynn J. (Noonan) Baker, she had lived in Cumberland for most of her life. She graduated from Cumberland High School in 1978 and Newbury Junior College in 1980. An invaluable employee of the Lackmann Culinary Services in Cumberland for the past two years, she will be dearly missed. She previously had worked for the Diamond Hill Animal Hospital for more than 20 years. She leaves two daughters, Sarah L. McKenney of Bellingham, Mass., and Katherine F. Alotta of Blackstone; two sons, Arnold F. McKenney of Westminster, Mass., and Peter J. Alotta of Blackstone; a brother, Michael S. Baker of Sudbury, Mass.; and a sister, Lori A. Swenson of Athens, Maine. She was the sister of the late Kevin F. Baker.
Her family will receive guests Thursday, March 27, at 9 a.m. with funeral services at 10 a.m. in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Calling hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cumberland Animal Shelter, Martin Street, Cumberland, RI 02864.
Carol F. Mondoux - North Smithfield
Carol F. (Kennedy) Mondoux of North Smithfield, formerly of Woonsocket, died Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at home.
She was the wife of the late Joseph Mondoux Sr. Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Rose (Parent) Kennedy. She worked for the former McCarthy’s Department Store in Woonsocket for many years and was the talking Christmas tree at the store. She was the treasurer of Gatewood Association, a former Girl Scout leader and past president of the Bernon Heights PTA. Survivors include three sons, Charles Mondoux and his wife Dotti and John Mondoux and his wife Gail, all of North Smithfield, and Joseph Mondoux Jr and his wife Reney-Ann of Glocester; five grandchildren, Allyson Harper-Nixon, Michelle, Casey and Ashleigh Mondoux and Lauren Williams; a brother, Charles V. Kennedy Jr. of Woonsocket; a sister, Velma Maynard of Warwick; and many special friends.
Her funeral will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from the Keene-Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Road, North Smithfield, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church, Slatersville. Burial will follow in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours are Thursday from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
Caroline B. D’Amico - Glocester
Caroline B. D’Amico, 65, of Blackinton Drive, Glocester, died Friday, April 18, at Kent Hospital in Warwick.
She was the beloved wife of Peter J. D’Amico. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late John and Carolina (Hopp) Cullinane, she had lived in Chepachet for the past 42 years, previously living in Providence. She loved to travel and explore the world with her husband. She was an avid gardener. Mrs. D’Amico had been a teacher at North Providence High School where she had taught astronomy and physics before retiring in 2005. Her enthusiasm for her students to learn in the classroom was what excited and energized her to come to school and teach each and every day. Besides her husband she leaves two daughters, Ellen Fox of West Warwick and Beth D’Amico of North Port, Fla.; a sister, Peg Williams of North Scituate; and a granddaughter, Hannah Rose Fox and a grandson who is expected shortly. She was the sister of the late Ann Powers.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Smithfield. Charles R. Hebblewaite - Scituate
Charles R. Hebblewaite, 78, of North Scituate, died Friday, April 11, 2008, at the Nancy Ann Nursing Home in Foster.
He was the beloved husband for 51 years of E. Gail (Ballou) Hebblewaite. Born in Providence, a son of the late Charles Jr. and Gladys H. (Gardner) Hebblewaite, he was a Johnston resident for 10 years before moving to Scituate 39 years ago. Mr. Hebblewaite worked for Narragansett Electric Company for 40 years and was foreman of the transportation department, retiring in 1992. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in North Scituate and served as vestry person for several years. He also was a member and past president of the Rhode Island Clodhopper Square Dancing Group, the former assistant treasurer of St. James Episcopal Church in North Providence, a 50-year member of Roger Williams Lodge #32 F. & A.M. and a charter member of Sunshine Wheelers Camping Group. Besides his wife he leaves three daughters, Lianne Hebblewaite, Dianne Auld and Betty A. Mohr; a son, Thomas D. Hebblewaite; a brother, Harry Walter Hebblewaite; and seven grandchildren.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Trinity Episcopal Church, 249 Danielson Pike, Scituate. Visiting hours are Monday from 4-7 p.m. in the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Ave., Route 44, Greenville. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Charles W. Forcier - Woonsocket
Charles W. Forcier, 79, of Park Avenue, Woonsocket, died Monday, April 14, at Oakland Grove Health Center.
Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Adelard and Angelina (Bibeault) Forcier. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Forcier was a real estate broker and residential homebuilder for more than 25 years. Mr. Forcier leaves a brother, Paul E. Forcier of Bellingham, Mass. He was the brother of the late Joseph and Eugene Forcier.
Burial in Precious Blood Cemetery was private.
Dorothy M. Edwards - Scituate
Dorothy M. (Wicklund) Edwards, 92, a resident of North Scituate for 61 years before moving to Smithfield in 2004, died peacefully Monday, April 14, 2008, surrounded by her family at Hebert Nursing Home.
She was the beloved wife of the late Ernest A. Edwards. Born in Providence, she was a devoted daughter of the late Axel L. and Margareta (Fiske) Wicklund. Dorothy was a graduate of Central High School and Katherine Gibbs School in Providence. She was first employed as a secretary at Amica Insurance and later worked briefly at the former Bailey-Shippee Funeral Home, but her full-time attention was given to her family. As a young girl she aspired to a career as a home economics teacher and that passion made her a most loving, creative and generous homemaker. She also was a self-taught seamstress and shared her skills and knowledge by teaching both adults and children, as well as making clothes for her daughters, grandchildren and other extended family members. She loved to sew, bake, braid rugs, make home crafts, play Bridge, travel, entertain and spend time with her family and friends. For many years she enjoyed summer vacations camping with the family in Waterville Valley, N.H., and later Dorothy and Ernie hosted family and friends at their vacation home in Morgan Center, Vt.
Dorothy was a former member and past president of the North Scituate American Legion Post #19 Auxiliary, a past Worthy Advisor and member of Rainbow Alumni. She was a former member of the Scituate Preservation Society, a past president, co-clothing project chair and longtime member of the Early Bird Homemakers of Scituate and was a past director of the Northern Rhode Island Co-Operative Extension board of directors. She was a 4-H Club leader of the Village Lane 4-H Club, past president of the Northern Rhode Island 4-H Leaders Association, a recipient of the RI Outstanding 4-H Leader Award and a member of the Rhode Island 4-H All-Stars Honorary Society. She was an active member of the Hamilton House Senior Center, teaching sewing classes, playing bridge and traveling. She was a 56-year member of the North Scituate Baptist Church serving with many programs, the newsletter committee and the May Breakfast. She also was a member of the Scituate Girls Club and the CF'ers, and was active in many programs at the Village at Waterman Lake.
She leaves two daughters, Sherrill D. Hunnibell of Rehoboth, Mass., and Shirley E. Hutchings and her husband Edwin of North Scituate; three grandchildren, Kylee Hitz and her husband Ciril of Rehoboth, Vanessa Moroney and her husband Ray of Malahide, Ireland, and Sara Hutchings-Schwartz and her husband Lenny of North Scituate; three great-grandchildren, Kira and Cailen Hitz and Aidan Moroney; and many beloved friends and extended family members. She was the sister of the late Esther Garland and Helen Smith and the mother-in-law of the late Kenneth Hunnibell. Dorothy treasured her family and friends and she was especially grateful for her family of loving and supportive caregivers at Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island and Hebert Nursing Home.
Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service Sunday, April 27, 2008, at 2 p.m. in the North Scituate Baptist Church, 619 West Greenville Road, North Scituate. In lieu of flowers, donations to Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island, 169 George St., Pawtucket, RI 02860 would be appreciated.
Gloria R. Brackett - Smithfield
Gloria R. Brackett, 79, of Lakeside Drive died April 11 at Elmhurst Extended Care in Providence.
She was the beloved wife of Army Sgt. Carl E. “Buddy” Brackett; Gloria was Buddy’s rock. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Peter D. and Ella (Lancor) Salway, she had lived in Smithfield for the past 32 years. Mrs. Brackett worked as an elevator operator for the former Hospital Trust and had been a gift wrapper for the former Shepard’s Department Store. Her greatest pleasure was taking care of her husband Buddy and she was proud to be a homemaker. Besides her husband she leaves a niece, Kathleen Marcoux of Glendale; and a sister, June Bianes of Cumberland. She was the sister of the late Bernard Salway.
The funeral is private.
Helen A. Hall - Smithfield
Helen A. Hall, 89, of Mann School Road, Smithfield, died Thursday, March 27, 2008, at Fatima Hospital.
She was the wife of the late Ernest J. Hall. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Pasquelina (Cataldi) Cantone. Mrs. Hall was a final inspector at the former Mine Safety and also worked at D’s Cards and Gifts in Wakefield and the former B. A. Ballou Company. She leaves a son, Dr. Ronald J. Hall of Smithfield; a daughter, Cheryl A. Mayher of Raynham, Mass.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a brother, Louis Cantone Jr. of North Providence; and a sister, Gabriella Capobianco of Smithfield. She was the mother of the late Joseph R. and Lois A. Hall.

Josephine J. Landry - Woonsocket
Josephine J. (Elkinson) Landry, 87, of Harrisville, formerly of Earl Street, Woonsocket, died March 21 at home.
She was the beloved wife of Norman Landry. Born Dec. 18, 1920, in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late George and Victoria (Sczyrba) Elkinson, she was a lifelong city resident. She was a creeler for the former Glass Craft in Slatersville for 20 years. She was a member of the St. Aidan’s Senior Club, the P.E.A.L. Club in South Attleboro, Mass., a past president of the Emblem Club #27 and past state president of the Association of Emblem Clubs #8. Besides her husband she leaves a daughter, Phyllis Wilinkiewicz of Harrisville; a sister, Edna Vanleeuwen in Florida; and two granddaughters, Kristin and Aimee Wilinkiewicz. She was the mother of the late Philip J. Belisle and the sister of the late Joseph and Walter Elkinson, Carrie Burns, Mary Pryhaski and Ann Sokolski.
