MARY A. BARRY
Mary A. Barry, 77, of 122 Cross St., Westerly, died Thursday morning, June 10, 2004, at The Westerly Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late James J. Barry.
Mrs. Barry was born in Westerly on July 30, 1926, the daughter of the late John and Minnie (Comforti) Pendola.
Mary worked as a weaver for the George C. Moore, Co. in Westerly for many years before her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Pius X Church in Westerly.
Mrs. Barry will be sadly missed by her two sons, James G. Barry and John D. Barry both of Westerly. She also leaves three sisters, Anna Pendola of Pawcatuck, Jean Pendola of Westerly, and Rose Pendola of Florida.; two brothers, Angelo Pendola and Salvatore Pendola both of Bradford; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Charles Pendola.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, Elm Street, Westerly. There is no procession from the funeral home, and calling hours are respectfully omitted. Burial will be in St. Sebastian Cemetery, Westerly.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St., Westerly.
RONALD J. WILLIAMS
Ronald J. Williams, 63, husband of the late Carol (Burley) Williams of Loudon Avenue, Pawcatuck, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at The Pendleton, June 12, 2004.
He was born Oct. 24, 1940, in Westerly, son of the late Lawrence and Elizabeth (Moosey) Williams.
He was an ESD attendant at Foxwoods Resort and Casino where he enjoyed great friendship with his co-workers. He was an avid boater, and he enjoyed restoring cars.
He is survived by one son, James Williams of Pawcatuck; three daughters, Cathy Vetelino and Penny Hoy, both of Westerly, and Mandy Boudreau of Franklin, N.H.; one brother, Robert Williams of Westerly; one sister, Katherine Sardo of Westerly; five grandchildren; and one very special furry friend, Dakota.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Visiting hours are omitted. Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly, is in charge of arrangements.
BRADLEY S. FRIEL
Bradley S. Friel, 54, beloved husband of Mojie F. (Franklin) Friel, of Hillsdale Road, West Kingston, died as his home, June 14, 2004, following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Wakefield, son of Howard W. Friel of North Sutton, N.H., and Shirley Friel Gadrow of Wakefield. Mr. Friel was president of Suburban Cleaners.
A charter member of the Chariho Rotary Club, having attained perfect attendance at meetings, he was also a three-term president and a Paul Harris Fellow. He had been recognized by the Rhode Island Chapter of the National Society of Fundraising as a Partner of Philanthropy. From 1996 to the present, he had served on the board of directors of Spurwink/RI, a non-profit organization serving the needs of children and adults with developmental and emotional disabilities. Mr. Friel was currently serving as president of the Northeast Fabricare Association and had served as a board member for 18 years. He was a district director of the International Fabricare Institute and past president of the Wood River Health Services where he had served on the board from 1994 through 2003.
In addition to his wife, father and mother, he is survived by a son, Joshua West of Westerly; a daughter, Amy Friel of Richmond; and a brother, Dennis Friel of Richmond.
He was predeceased by a sister, Holly Friel.
Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Church, Church Street, Bradford. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Brad's name be made to Spurwink/RI, One Spurwink Place, Cranston, RI 02910-2012.
JANEY R. DAVEY
Janet R. Davey, 71, the beloved wife of the late Ernest W. Davey and a beloved mother, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on June 14, 2004.
Born in Statesville, N.C., daughter of the late Curtis and Elsie Miner, she spent most of her life in Hopkinton.
Janet was self-employed as a seamstress for over 40 years, specializing in custom-made slipcovers and draperies.
Her business "Jan's Drapery and Fabric" was well known throughout the community. The nature of her business introduced her to many people over the years, and most of those people remained very dear friends.
Some of Janet's hobbies and interests included gardening, antiquing, traveling, taking pictures, and cooking, and entertaining for her family and friends.
She is survived by five children, Carolyn Raichle, Susan Kettlety, and Shirley McLaren, all of Florida, Allen Main and Terry Main of Ashaway; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; stepdaughters, Betty Delude of Massachusetts, Diane Patalino of Rhode Island, Lori Rogers of Connecticut; and seven stepgrandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Davey residence for family and friends on Saturday, June 19, at 11 a.m.

ROSE B. MAIN
Rose B. (Picard) Main, 94, formerly of Main Street, Carolina, died June 15, 2004, in the Westerly Health Center, Westerly. She was the widow of Norman Main.
Mrs. Main was born in Westerly, daughter of the late Eugene and Mary (Gouvin) Picard. She had been employed at the Bradford Dyeing Association, retiring in the mid-1970s, and most recently had been employed at the former Hallmark Card Shop in downtown Westerly.
She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Carolina, and had been very active in the Westerly Emblem Club having served as past president, holding several other offices in the state and local Emblem Club, and at the time of her death, serving as the acting chaplain of the Westerly Emblem Club. She was also a member of the Daughters of Isabella, and she loved to crochet and knit and was a devoted bingo worker at the Westerly Lodge of Elks.
She is survived by two sons, Norman Main Jr. of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and David J. Main of Grain Valley, Mo.; a daughter, Joyce Shawn of Bradford; two sisters, Eleanor Collins and Lydia Gwaltney, both of Westerly; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Lois Pacheco; and several brothers and sisters.
Calling hours will be held Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. There will be no procession from the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Carolina. Interment will be in St. Sebastian Cemetery, Westerly.
PIU NG
Piu Ng, 90, of Byron Drive, Westerly, died Monday, June 14, 2004, at home. He was the husband of the late Hai Chan.
Born in Canton, China, he had been employed as a construction worker in China until retiring.
He is survived by seven children; one sister; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Friday, June 18, from 10 a.m. to noon in the Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. Funeral service and interment will be private.
JOHN EVAN ROSSI
John Evan Rossi, son of Anthony J. and Mary Kathryn (Niles) Rossi, beloved husband of Brenda Medina and loving father of Kathryn and Anna Rossi, died after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's Disease on June 16, 2004.
An avid reader and movie buff, John's quick wit was enjoyed by family and friends.
A memorial service for John will be held on June 21 at the Calabrese Club, 28 Pleasant St., Westerly from 4 to 7 p.m.
