Rose Simpson, 79, of Watson St, passed Monday. She was the wife of the late William C. Simpson.
She had been employed by Standard Uniform for many years and was an avid bingo player.
Rose is survived by two sons, Robert Brown of Central Falls and Todd Simpson of Pawtucket, Three daughters, Debra Sue Blais of Pawtucket , Gladys A. Dumas of Coventry and Deborah Ann Sirois of East Providence, a brother, Ozzy Warner of Hope. RI, nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be held Friday at 10am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Burial will be in North Burial Ground, Providence. Relatives and friends invited, calling hours Thursday 5-8pm.
Frank A. Brown Jr.
August 20, 2009
Frank A. Brown Jr., 89, passed Thursday. He was the husband of the late Suealine C. Brown.
Born in Providence on August 6th 1920, a son of the late Frank A. Brown Sr. and Bessie May Brown. He had been employed by Brown University for over 35 years and was an Army Veteran of WWII receiving a Bronze Star, Victory medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign and Philippine Liberation Ribbons.
Frank was an usher for over 50 years at the Congdon St. Baptist Church and was a member of the Little Rhody Tennis Club.
He leaves a daughter, Sheila Brown Hughes and her husband Jerome Hughes, 3 grandchildren, Crystal D, Carlton F, and Anthony C. Brown all of Providence, 13 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Joseph F. “Buster” Brown, Bessie Young, Mildred Miller, Dorothy Maire Woodward and Grace Briggs.
A service will be held Monday at 11am in the Congdon St. Baptist Church to which relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held at the Church at 10am. Burial with Military Honors will be in North Burial Ground, Providence.
John K. Gibbons
August 16, 2009
John K. Gibbons, 44 of Wentworth St, passed away unexpectedly at home August 16th.
Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of Kenneth Gibbons of Lincoln and the late Cheryl Ukleja and stepson of the late John Ukleja and Linda Gibbons. He was employed as an automobile mechanic at Uncle’s Transmission in Smithfield.
John is survived by 3 brothers, Scott Gibbons of Central Falls, Todd Ukleja of North Providence and James Gibbons of Lincoln, 2 sisters, Wendy Ukleja of North Providence and Lori Gibbons of Lincoln, a cherished grandmother, Evelyn Hallworth of Central Falls, 2 nephews and a niece, Joseph and Sabrina Dourado and Todd Ukleja. He was the companion of the late Annette Wysong.
His funeral service will be held Friday at 10am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln, followed by burial in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. Relatives and friends invited, calling hours Thursday 5-8pm.
Lawrence E. Monroe(Little Dog)

Lawrence E. Monroe (Little Dog), of the Narragansett Indian Tribe joined the Great Spirit on August 15, 2009. Lawrence was the husband of the late Grace L. Prout Monroe. Lawrence is survived by nine children; Allen and Gail Prout, Carmen Soares, Darlene, Cheryl, Duane, Antone, Domingo, Anthony J., and the late Anthony K. (M’sque Ninu) Monroe. Lawrence also leaves behind twenty-nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was the son of the late Alice and Frank Monroe. He was also brother to the late Norma Frye and Raymond Monroe.
On Monday, August 17th from 6-9p.m, viewing hours are at Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Avenue, Lincoln, RI 02865. After cremation, a graveside ceremony will be held at The Oakdell Cemetery, Wakefield, RI on Wednesday at 11am; where he will join his wife.
William "Wild Bill" Gracia

William "Wild Bill" Gracia, 89, of Applegate Lane, passed. Born in New Bedford, MA, son of the late Isaac and Helena (Magnett) Gracia.
Bill was employed for 32 years by Boliva Watch and was an Army WWII Veteran.
He is survived by a brother, Joseph H. Gracia of New Bedford and a sister, Mary E. Evans of Cranston.
A Memorial Service to which family and friends are invited will be held Sunday, August 23rd, at 3pm in the American Legion Post #69, corner Potters Ave and Salem St. Arrangements by the Keefe Funeral Home, Lincoln.
Richard Turcotte

Richard Turcotte, 71, of Cowesett Rd, passed Wednesday with his family by his side at the West View Health Care Center. He was the husband of Ann Mary (Converse) Turcotte. They had been married for 47 years.
Born in Central Falls, a son of the late Edmond and Cecile (Guilbeault) Turcotte.
He drove Tractor Trailers for over 35 years, and was a member of the Teamsters Local 251.
Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, David Turcotte and his wife Gina, and Steven Turcotte and his wife Linda, Two daughters, Nancy Gaidola and her husband Manuel, and Karen Wentworth and her husband David, A brother, Roger Turcotte, all of Warwick, A sister, Lucienne Ogden of VT, eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Monday at 10am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Burial with military honors will be in Mt St Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Denise Fournier, 77, of Lincoln Ave, passed peacefully Thursday surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Robert Fournier.
Born in Central Falls, a daughter of the late Azarias and Dolores (Rondeau) Turenne.
She is survived by three sons, Garry, Bruce and Brian Fournier, a daughter, Rosemarie Pace. 4 sisters, Noria Contois, Muriel Radcliff, Yvette O’Neil, and Yvonne Faille, 5 brothers, Victor, Marcell, Donald, Andre and Emile Turenne.
Six grandchildren, Jason, Jamie, Matthew, Eric, Derek and Amanda and many nieces and nephews, She was the sister of the late Oneil, Walter and Robert Turenne, and Doris Marcoux.
Her funeral will be held Monday at 8:30am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Matthew Church, Dexter St, Central Falls at 9:30am. Alice V. Gilligan

Alice V. Gilligan, 86, of St. Germain Manor, died Tuesday at the Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. She was the wife of the late Edward J. Gilligan.
Born in Pawtucket. A daughter of the late Manuel and Virginia (Mello) Coelho. She was a lifelong Pawtucket resident.
She had been employed by Kaplin Bakery till retiring five years ago and previously worked for 27 years at the former Korb’s Bakery and
had also worked many years at Lorraine Mills.
She was a member of the St. Germain Tenant Association.
Alice was a recipient of the Volunteer Award from BVCAP signed by President of the United States.
She is survived by her devoted friend and caretaker, Stanley Baker, two nieces, Virginia Fitzhugh and Connie O’Riley, a nephew, Donald Coelho, a cousin, Mary Langevin all of Pawtucket. She was the brother of the late Albert P. Coelho.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10am in St. Anthony Church, Lawn Ave, Pawtucket. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by the Keefe Funeral Home, Lincoln.
