Jeannette Rounds

Jeannette Rounds, 74, of Lincoln Ave, passed peacefully Wednesday surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Leonard E. Rounds Jr. They were married 43 years.
Jeannette was born in Central Falls, a daughter of the late George and Leona (Mardo) Fayan. She was a lifelong Central Falls resident.
She had been employed as a supervisor for 15 years by Hasbro Industries.
She was a member of the Aleppian Aid Society, St. Basil Church Altar Sodality and Senior Citizens Group, Cumberland Senior Center and also was a volunteer at the Bread of Life Soup Kitchen at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Pawtucket.
Besides her husband she is survived by a son, Leonard E. Rounds III of Central Falls, two sisters, Victoria Prochniak of Central Falls and Mary DiGregorio of Cumberland, two brothers, Joseph Fayan of Barrington and V. Edward Fayan of Cumberland and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Michael and James Fayan.
Calling hours will be held Thursday from 5-8pm in the Church of St. Basil the Great 15 Skyview Drive, Lincoln with a Liturgy of Christian Burial, Friday at 10am. Burial will be in St. Basil Cemetery, Cumberland. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Church of St. Basil the Great Building Fund, 15 Skyview Dr. Lincoln, RI 02865. Arrangements are by the Keefe Funeral Home, Lincoln.
Paul S. Esielonis

Paul S. Esielonis, 60, of Wake Robin Rd, passed at the RI Hospital, Providence.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Stanley A. and Marcelle (Chausse) Esielonis.
He had been employed by the bookstore at Bryant College for over 20 years. Paul was an avid Red Sox and Patriots Fan and loved music.
A sister, Joan M. Buckley and her husband Timothy J. of Coventry survive him.
He was the brother of the late Michael and Richard Esielonis.
Calling hours will be held Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30pm from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a service at 7:30pm. Burial will be private.
Risa Converse

Risa Converse, 52, of High St, passed Friday at the RI Hospital surrounded by her loving family after a brave long battle with cancer.
She was the wife of John N. Converse; they celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary in November.
Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late Gerald and Lucille (Pelkey) Roy.
Risa had been a dedicated Day Care provider for many years
Besides her husband John, she was a loving mother and is also survived by a stepson, John N. Converse of South Attleboro, Three daughters, Mindy Theroux and her husband Kenneth, Keri Converse and Megan Converse, A son, Kyle Converse all of Cumberland.
A sister, Karen Dickson of Kinston, NC, a brother, Kevin Roy of Somerset, MA and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:30am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Church, Pine St, Pawtucket at 10am. Relatives and friends invited, Calling hours Monday 5-8pm. Burial will be in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Florence Farrar

Florence Farrar, 80, of Watson St, passed Friday at the Pawtucket Health Center surrounded by her loving family.
She was the wife of the late Lester E. Farrar.
Born in Central Falls, a daughter of the late Ernest and Alma (Gendreau) LaPlante.
Florence was an avid Bingo and Card Player.
She is survived by a son, James R. Farrar and his wife Sandra, a step daughter, Elva Mae Borden, a grandson, Travis Farrar and six step grandchildren, eighteen great step-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild, all of Maine. She is also survived by a brother, Oscar E. LaPlante and his wife Mary of Pawtucket, a sister, Rosemarie Spavold of Central Falls, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:30am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Relatives and friends invited, calling hours Monday 4-7pm.

John H. Franco

John H. Franco, 74, of East Barrows St, passed at the Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Maria A. (Denobrega) Franco. They have been married for 50 years.
Born in the Madeira Island, Portugal, a son of the late Henrique and Carolina (Gouveia) Franco.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, John N. Franco and his wife Nicole of North Scituate, two grandchildren, Dominic and Brittany Franco. A sister, Maria luiza Gomes of Sacramento, CA, and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:30am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial In St. Matthew Church, Dexter St, Central Falls at 9:30am. Joseph Leonard Yankee Sr.

Joseph Leonard Yankee Sr., 78 of 22A Victory Street, Cumberland entered into rest on April 8th. He was the widower of Barbara Jean (Swanson) Yankee. Born in Franklin, Ma. He was the son of the late William F. Yankee Sr. and the late Dorothy (McMorrow) Yankee.
He joined the Army at age 19, taking his basic training in Fort Knox, KY in 1950 and served in Korea as part of the Infantry. Joe was a Training Sergeant, was wounded and was subsequently awarded the Purple Heart. Leaving the Army with the rank of Master Sergeant.
Joe was a commercial truck driver for over 20 years with Bakers & Commodities. He was currently employed by CVS as a forklift operator. He was awarded the Outstanding Older Worker of 2007 for the State of RI.
As past president of the Blackstone Valley Community Service, he enjoyed staying active by bowling, playing horseshoes and spending time with his large family. He coached The Fiberglass Girls leading them to a Class B AAA Championship in 1969. He also lead the American Universal Insurance Co girls softball team to the Class B Division Champs in 1988.
He is survived by 9 children, Ginger Soucie, Gerald Yankee Sr. and Francis Yankee of Cumberland, Paul Yankee & Karl Yankee of Lincoln, Joseph Yankee Jr. of Warwick and Jo Ann Clark, Brenda Barrette and Ivy Gray of Augusta, GA. 30 grandchildren and 28 Great grandchildren also survive him. He was the brother of Gerald Yankee of Melbourne; FL. Charles Yankee Sr. of No Attleboro, MA and Betty Rupert of Cumberland, RI and the late William Yankee Sr., Paul Yankee Sr., Francis Yankee and Muriel Falciano.
A Memorial service will be held for Joseph and Barbara on Saturday, April 11th at noon at the Keefe Funeral Home Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, Memorial gifts may be made to The Cumberland Lincoln Boys Club, McKee Way, Cumberland RI 02864 in Joe’s memory.
Rita M. Paiva

Rita M. Paiva, 57, of Baldwin St, passed Monday, March 30, 2009.
Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of William O’Connor of Cumberland and the late Claire (Hebert) O’Connor.
Rita was a loving mother and enjoyed gardening and her pets.
She is survived by two sons, David and Carlos Paiva, a granddaughter Katie Paiva, all of Cumberland. She was the companion of Carlos Gonsalves, also of Cumberland. Rita is also survived by many dear friends.
Calling hours will be held Saturday from 4-7pm followed by a prayer service from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Burial will be private in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
