SANTO TERRANOVA
Santo Terranova, 74, of Acri, Italy, husband of Marianina Turano Terranova, died on Feb. 1, 2004, in Italy, after a lengthy illness.
He was the father of Salvatore Terranova of Westerly and Assunta Terranova, Giuseppe Terranova, Silvana Terranova and Carla Terranova, all of Italy. He is also survived by four brothers, Salvatore Terranova, Camillo Terranova, Angelo Terranova and Francesco Terranova; one sister, Bomina Terranova, all of Italy; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, Lorenzo Terranova; a brother, Vicenzo Terranova; and a sister, Assunta Terranova.
A Memorial Mass was celebrated on Feb. 2 at the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Services and burial are in Italy.
ALBERT ROMANELLA
Albert "Al" Romanella, beloved husband of Kathy Romanella of Orleans Court, Westerly, died Sunday morning, March 14, 2004, at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Sarasota, Fla.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Church of St. Clare, Crandall Avenue, Misquamicut. There will be no visiting hours. A full obituary will appear in Wednesday's edition.
Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly, is in charge of arrangements.
ALBERT ROMANELLA
Albert Romanella, 87, of 4 Orleans Court, Westerly, died on March 14, 2004, in Sarasota Fla.
He was born in Westerly on May 30, 1916, the son of the late James and Fineta (Romei) Romanella.
Al was a man of few words. A kind, generous and charitable man, he lived life to the fullest. One of his biggest joys was spending time at his home in Sarasota. He loved his summers at his Seaside Beach Club Cabana with the "crew" and the "card sharks." He also loved preparing his favorite foods for his many friends.
Recently, Sammy came into his life and brought him many hours of love, laughter and companionship, and as everyone knows, "Sammy is an exception."
Al was the president and co-founder of James Romanella & Sons, Inc. and Al-Jo Realty Co. He was a life member of the Westerly Lodge of Elks B.P.O.E. 678, the Westerly Yacht Club, FOPA, and the Sarasota Opera Club.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy (Edgar) Romanella; his daughter, Jean (Romanella) Sposato; two stepchildren, Damien and John Carson; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Elizabeth "Betty" (Romanella) Pignataro; and four brothers, Augustine, Samuel, Rico and Joseph Romanella.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Clare Church, Crandall Avenue, Westerly, on Thursday at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours are omitted. Entombment will be in St. Sebastian Cemetery. Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly, is in charge of arrangements.

ERNEST S. ALGIERE SR.
Ernest S. Algiere Sr., 90, of Bradford, died April 1, 2004, in the Philip Hulitar Center, Providence. He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Cosgrove) Algiere.
Calling hours will be held Monday from 5-7 p.m. in the Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Church, Church Street, Bradford.
In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to contribute to Home and Hospice Care of Rhode Island, 169 George St., Pawtucket RI 02860, in his memory.
Mark R. Adiletta
Mark R. Adiletta, 37, of Maple Grove, Minn., beloved husband of Natalie (Charambura) Adiletta, died suddenly, April 5, 2004, of natural causes.
Having just relocated to Minnesota from Maine, Mark was vice president of the surgical business unit for Gyrus Medical. He was a graduate of the University of Rhode Island and enjoyed the family's home in Westerly.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Colton J. Adiletta; his parents, Mark T. and Mary L. (Umile) Adiletta of Trumbull, Conn.; maternal grandmother Mary L. Umile of Wallingford, Conn., and several uncles, aunts and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m., direct to Christ the King Church, Trumbull, Conn., with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in River Bend Cemetery, Westerly, R.I., at 1:30 p.m. Friends may call Monday, 4 to 7 p.m., at the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main St. and Gorham Pl., Trumbull, Conn. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mark's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Ernest G. Boumenot
Ernest G. Boumenot, 77, of 9 Dixon St., Westerly, R.I., died Tuesday, April 6, 2004. He was the son of the late Captain Beppo and Frances (Gingerella) Boumenot.
Mr. Boumenot was born in Westerly, R.I., on July 20, 1926.
Ernest was a World War II Army veteran. He owned and operated the former Starlight Motel in Misquamicut for many years and was a life member of the Westerly Elks Club, the Veterans of Foreign War, and the Calabrese Club. He was also a self-employed landscaper for many years before retiring.
He will be sadly missed by his brother, Beppo Boumenot of Westerly, R.I., and his dear companion, Helen Oliverio of Pawcatuck, Conn., and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Pauline Pitts, Irene Janes and Betty Barker; and one brother, John "Chauncy" Boumenot.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2004, at 11 a.m. in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter, R.I. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.

John L. Marcotte
John L. Marcotte, 63, of 19 Quarry Road, Bradford, R.I., died Thursday, April 8, 2004, at The Westerly Hospital. He was the beloved wife of Natalie (Pucci) Marcotte.
Mr. Marcotte was born in Pawcatuck, Conn., on June 2, 1940, the son of the late David and Melanise (Levine) Marcotte.
He was employed for many years as a senior date processor at Computer Sciences Corporation in Groton, Conn., and at Electric Boat in Groton for more than 35 years before his retirement. He served on the executive board of the PIU union and was a member of the National Rifle Association. He was an avid painter, gardener and outdoorsman.
Besides his loving wife of 39 years, he is survived by three children, David F. Marcotte of Bradford, R.I., Michelle R. Kinsey of Charlestown, R.I., and Michael J. Marcotte of Stonington, Conn. He also leaves three sisters, Annetta Kieser of Cromwell, Conn., Elizabeth Fontaine and Janet Servido, both of Westerly, R.I., and five grandchildren, Alyssa Marcotte, Justin Marcotte, Brittany Kinsey, Jonathan Kinsey and Amanda Hutchinson. He was predeceased by three brothers, David Marcotte, Norman "Pete" Marcotte and Louis Marcotte, and two sisters, Rita Cooke and Joan Watrous.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Church, Bradford, R.I. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St., Westerly, R.I. Burial will be private in St. Michael Cemetery, Pawcatuck, Conn.
SUSAN R. PELKEY
Susan R. (Dugas) Pelkey, 59, beloved lifelong companion of and loving father to her children, Everett E. Pelkey Jr., both of West Melbourne, Fla., and Ashaway, died May 3, 2004, in South County Hospital, Wakefield.
She was born in Pascoag, daughter of the late Arthur A. and Evangeline A. (Joyal) Dugas. She retired in 1998 as executive director of SCIRTS.
She is survived by two sons, Bryan M. Pelkey Sr. of Ashaway and Steven E. Pelkey of Weare, N.H., two daughters, Lori M. Murphy of Mequon, Wis., and Gayle L. Boudreau of Hope Valley; two brothers, Francis L. Dugas of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., and Robert A. Dugas of Darlington, S.C.; two sisters, Priscilla A. Heroux of Poland Springs, Maine, and Lynda Patnoad of Griswold, Conn.; and seven grandchildren.
Calling hours are omitted. A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
