BARBARA STURTEVANT - Providence
BARBARA STURTEVANT, 87, of Indian Avenue, a member of the Preservation Society of Newport County and a number of other societies, died Wednesday at home. She was the wife of the late Theodore C. Sturtevant.
Born in Boston, she was a daughter of the late Sohier and Barbara (Hinkley) Welch.
Mrs. Sturtevant was a trustee emeritus of the Naval War College Foundation. She was a member of the Norman Bird Sanctuary, the Middletown Historial Society, the Metropolitan Opera Guild, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Beavertail Lighthouse Museum Association, the Newport Historical Society and the Newport County Church Women United.
She leaves three sons, Ernest B. Dane III of Washington, D.C., Roger Dane of Ridge Spring, S.C., and Benjamin Dane of Monroe, N.H.; a daughter, Eleanor Dane of Center Harbor, N.H.; a stepson, Thomas C. Sturtevant of Newport; two brothers, Francis E. Welch of Salem, Mass., and Sohier Welch of Harvard, Mass.; a sister, Susan W. Dexter of St. Louis, Mo.; 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was sister of the late Holmes H. Welch.
A memorial funeral service will be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. in St. Columba Berkley Memorial Chapel, Indian Avenue, Middletown.

DEINORA REZZA - Providence
DEINORA REZZA, 90, of Waller Street, an assembler at the former Metalized Ceramics Co.for 10 years, retiring in 1965, died yesterday at Berkshire Place. She was the wife of the late Manin Rezza.
Born in Fondi, Latina, Italy, a daughter of the late Ermeto and Concetta (Bertone) Fusco, she had been a resident of Providence since coming to this country in 1920.
She was a member of the Smith Hill Senior Citizens.
She leaves two daughters, Diana Marsland of Providence and Lillian Gioffreda of North Providence; and four grandchildren. She was sister of the late Pasquale Fusco, Emilia Companatico and Osmida Costantino.
The funeral will be held tomorrow at 9 a.m. from the Mariani Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in Holy Ghost Church, Atwells Avenue. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.

ALBENA "ABBY" TURCHETTA - Providence
ALBENA "ABBY" TURCHETTA, 83, of Laurel Hill Avenue, a quality-control inspector at Uniroyal Rubber Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1977, died yesterday at Steere House. She was the wife of the late Louis Turchetta Sr.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Carmino and Lydia (Flori) Pullano, she was a lifelong resident of Silver Lake. She was a communicant of St. Bartholomew Church. She was a member of the Senior Citizens of Hope and a volunteer for the Silver Lake Annex Tutorial Program.
She leaves two sons, Vincent Turchetta and Louis Turchetta Jr., and a daughter, Joanne Connell, all of Cranston; a brother, Joseph "Pips" Pullano of Narragansett; a sister, Gilda Lamantia of Providence; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Eugenia Rossi and Nicholas, Adolph, Archille and Arthur Pullano.
The funeral will be held tomorrow at 9 a.m. from the Romano Funeral Home, 627 Union Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Bartholomew Church, Laurel Hill Avenue. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.

IRENE A. LARKIN - Smithfield
IRENE A. LARKIN, 72, of Riverview Avenue, an assembler for Mine Safety Appliance for 22 years, retiring in 1987, died Wednesday at Cortland Place Health Facility. She was the wife of the late Joseph T. Larkin.
Born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Vincent W. and Susan (Marcinka) Miklusis, she lived in Smithfield for many years. Mrs. Larkin was a member of the Smithfield Emblem Club.
She leaves two sons, Richard J. Larkin of Smithfield and Kenneth P. Larkin of Chepachet; a daughter, Patricia A. Freed of Bradenton, Fla.; a sister, Bertha Burns of Wickford; two brothers, Rock Miklusis of Wickford and Vyto Miklusis of Coventry; and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be held today at 8:30 a.m. from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 in St. Philip Church, Putnam Avenue, Greenville. Burial will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.

VIRGINIA A. CAPETO - Somerset
VIRGINIA A. CAPETO, 74, of Shawomet Gardens, a sewing-machine operator for the Atlas Curtain Co., Fall River, for more than 20 years, retiring in 1970, died yesterday at Charlton Memorial Hospital, Fall River. She was the wife of Joseph Capeto.
A lifelong Somerset resident, she was the daughter of the late John and Cora (Heddy) Benevides.
Mrs. Capeto was a communicant of St. Thomas More Church.
She leaves a brother, James Benevides of Sarasota, Fla.; and two sisters, Veronica Calio and Charlotte Suspiro, both of Somerset.
The funeral will be held tomorrow at 9 a.m. from the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton St., with a funeral Mass at 10 in St. Thomas More Church, Luther Avenue. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery.

JOSEPH A. KEOGH JR. - Tiverton
JOSEPH A. KEOGH JR., 85, of Randolph Avenue, a pipefitter for Eastern Piping and Engineering, Fall River, died Wednesday at Kimwell Nursing Home, Fall River. He was the husband of the late Bernadette Lilianne (D'Amour) Keogh.
Born in New York, N.Y., a son of the late Joseph A. And Johanna (McGrath) Keogh, he lived in Tiverton for 40 years.
He was a communicant of St. Catherine's Parish, Little Compton, and a Navy veteran of World War II.
He was a fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 86, Fall River, a member of the Third Order of Saint Dominic's and a former member of the Allegro Glee Club.
He leaves a son, Joseph A. Keogh III of Little Compton; a brother, the Rev. James Keogh of Moorsville, N.C.; a sister, Marion Dunn of Westminster, Md.; and a grandson.
The funeral will be held tomorrow at 8 a.m. from the Pocasset Memorial Funeral Home, 462 Main Rd., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 in St. Catherine's Church, Little Compton. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Stafford Road, Fall River.

ELMER G. BROADBENT - Tiverton
ELMER G. BROADBENT, of 106 Durfee Rd., a loan officer at the former Fall River National Bank for 24 years, retiring in 1983, died Saturday at St. Anne Hospital, Fall River. He was the husband of Dorothy (Mello) Broadbent.
Born in Fall River, the son of the late Arthur E. Broadbent and the late Marguerite (Jackson) Broadbent and the stepson of the late Florence (Hunt) Broadbent, he later moved to Tiverton, where he resided for 40 years.
Mr. Broadbent was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church while he lived in Fall River and then became a communicant of Holy Ghost Church when he moved to Tiverton.
He was a graduate of the Williams School of Banking.
He was a B-17 pilot with the 15th Army Air Forces in Italy during World War II, serving in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. He participated in the battles in the Rhineland, the Balkans, the North Apennines and the Po Valley.
After World War II, he remained in the Air Force Reserve and retired as a lieutenant colonel after 21 years of service.
Mr. Broadbent was a member of the Retired Officers Association and the American Association of Retired Persons. He was a former member of the Exchange Club.
Besides his wife, he leaves two nephews and a niece.
The funeral was held Wednesday. Burial was in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.

ARMAND AUSSANT - Attleboro
ARMAND AUSSANT, 72, of Hodges Street, a heavy-equipment operator for the Cavalieri Construction Co., North Smithfield, for 10 years, retiring in 1975, died yesterday in Madonna Manor Nursing Home, North Attleboro.
Born in Attleboro, a son of the late Delphis and Rose (Bedard) Aussant, he was a lifelong resident of Attleboro.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He leaves a daughter, Linda Day in Florida, and a brother, Raymond Aussant of Attleboro. He was a brother of the late Delphis Aussant Jr., George Aussant, Albert Aussant, Irene Livsey and Helen Ladabauche.
The funeral and burial will be private.

HELEN E. McMULLEN - Warwick
HELEN E. McMULLEN, 90, of West Bay Manor, West Short Road, a teacher in the Westerly and Charlestown schools for many years, retiring 25 years ago, died Wednesday at Kent County Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Edwin F. McMullen and the late Samuel Barber.
Born in Bangor, Maine, a daughter of the late Frederick and Mary (Spratt) Baumann, she had lived in the Carolina section of Richmond before moving to Warwick 35 years ago.
She was a graduate of Gorham State College, Maine, and Rhode Island College. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association.
She leaves a sister, Estelle Habenicht of Bangor, and several nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Frederick W. Baumann Jr. and Carl S. Baumann.
The funeral will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from the Peter J. Barrett Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Benedict Church, 135 Beach Ave. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor.

EVELYN M. GERING - Warwick
EVELYN M. GERING, 55, of Post Road died unexpectedly Wednesday at the Columbia Putnam County Hospital, Gainsville, Fla.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Ernest and Ruby (Clark) Miller, she lived in Warwick for seven years, previously living in Providence. She had also been a resident of Interlachin, Fla., from 1992 to 1994.
She leaves four sons, Robert Adams Jr. of Warwick, Steven Adams of Providence, Scott Adams of Pawtucket and Marine Sgt. Edward Adams of Camp Lejeune, N.C.; two daughters, Brenda Sears of Cranston and Tina LeGarie of Warwick; three brothers, Albert Renzi Sr. of Johnston, George Miller of Sacramento, Calif., and Thomas Lambie of North Providence; a sister, Carol Connors of North Providence; and 16 grandchildren. She was sister of the late Ruby Grinnel.
The funeral will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m. in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave. Burial will follow.
