FREDERICK JOSEPH deMELLO - Newport
FREDERICK JOSEPH deMELLO, 60, of 25 Caperton St., an auto mechanic for many years, and manager for Avis Rent A Car on Goat Island, died Saturday at Newport Hospital.
Born in Newport, he was a son of the late Joseph S. and Louise M. (daSilva) deMello.
Mr. deMello was an Army veteran and served in Germany.
He leaves three sons, Peter deMello of Adel, Ga., Paul deMello, USN, of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and Frederick deMello Jr. of Portsmouth; a stepson, Joseph Vincent of Newport; three daughters, Tina Morris and Pamela deMello, both of Newport, and Rebeccah Sidell of Middletown; three stepdaughters, Cheryle Bradley and Gwendolyn Schultz, both of Newport, and Elizabeth Sams of Grand Junction, Colo.; a brother, Joseph S. deMello of San Francisco; four sisters, Mary Lou Spencer of Portsmouth, Mary Little of Littleton, Colo., Ruth deMello of Bristol, and Elizabeth Stratton of Hollywood, Fla.; and 12 grandchildren. He was a brother of the late John deMello.
The funeral service will be held tomorrow at 1 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway. Burial will be held at a later date.

JOHN T. DEGNAN - North Providence
JOHN T. DEGNAN, 86, of Maguire Road, a supervisor at the turnkey branch of the U.S. Postal Service for 22 years, retiring in 1973, died Sunday at home. He was the husband of the late Ellen "Mary" (McLaughlin) Degnan.
A lifelong resident of North Providence, he was a son of the late William and Mary (Looby) Degnan. Mr. Degnan was an Air Force veteran of World War II, and a member of the American Legion, Howard Rogers Post 25 in Pawtucket.
He was a life member of Geneva Volunteer Fire Company, a past member of the Shamrock Club of Providence, and an honorary life member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
He leaves two sons, Raymond Degnan and John F. Degnan, both of North Providence; and five grandchildren. He was the brother of the late James, William and Andrew Degnan.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Corbett-Quirk- Pontarelli Home, 971 Branch Ave., Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, Fourth Avenue. Burial, with military honors, will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.

MARY L. AROUTH - Pawtucket
MARY L. AROUTH, 81, of 301 Main St., who worked in central supply at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island for 17 years before retiring in 1975, died Sunday at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence. She was the wife of the late Charles Arouth.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late John and Beatrice (Camastra) Cavaliere, she lived in Pawtucket for 53 years.
Mrs. Arouth was a member of the Rhode Island Association for the Blind. After retiring, she was a volunteer at Memorial Hospital.
She leaves a daughter, Diane "Ginger" Sylvester of Pawtucket; two sons, Leon C. Arouth of Palm Desert, Calif., and Charles J. Arouth of Cranston; two brothers, John Cavaliere of Cranston, and Ralph Camastra of Baldwin, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was a sister of the late Margaret Ovalles, Anthony and Joseph Cavaliere.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Costigan-O'Neill Funeral Home, 220 Cottage St., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 at Sacred Heart Church, Park Street. Burial will be in Mount St. Mary Cemetery.

HELEN M. KINSELLA - Pawtucket
HELEN M. KINSELLA, 92, formerly of Kennedy Manor, 175 Broad St., a private secretary for the Rhode Island National Guard, U.S. Property and Fiscal Office in Providence, retiring in 1970, died yesterday at the Slater Health Center. She was the wife of the late John J. Kinsella.
Born in Lincoln, a daughter of the late Frank J. and Eliza M. (Williams) Cooney, she lived in Pawtucket most of her life.
Mrs. Kinsella had been a secretary to the state area supervisor and the director of Public Welfare in Pawtucket, for eight years.
She leaves two daughters, Janet E. Lee of Attleboro and Barbara H. Carroll of Riverside; a son, John J. Kinsella with whom she lived; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Joan F. Kinsella, and the sister of the late Frances Conroy, Margaret Odlum, Emma Hopkins, Joseph, John, Stephen, Walter and Lillian Cooney.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Pine Street. Burial will be private.

FLORENCE BRODSKY - Providence
FLORENCE BRODSKY, 88, of the Summit Medical Center, North Main Street, formerly of Cranston, died Sunday at the medical center. She was the wife of the late Max Brodsky.
Born Providence, a daughter of the late Hyman and Elizabeth (Salk) Salk, she lived in Cranston for 20 years before moving to Providence a year ago. She had lived in Providence and Scituate most of her life.
Mrs. Brodsky was a president of the Ladies Association of the Providence Hebrew Day School. She was a member of Temple Emanu-El, Hadassah, and the Womens Rotary in Providence.
She leaves a daughter, Deena Liffmann of Cranston; two sons, Elliott Brodsky of Providence and David Brodsky of Newport and Florida; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Samuel and Louis Salk.
The funeral service was held yesterday at Mount Sinai Memorial Chapel, 825 Hope St. Burial was in Lincoln Park Cemetery, Warwick.

LILY G. VALLIE - Cranston
LILY G. VALLIE, 103, of South Chatham, Mass., and St. Petersburg, Fla., formerly of Cranston, died unexpectedly at home Sunday in South Chatham. She was the wife of the late Guy C.D. Vallie.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Marcroft, she lived in Cranston before retiring to South Chatham in 1960, where she summered since 1921. She wintered in St. Petersburg for many years.
Mrs. Vallie had been a nurses' aide in Taunton during World War II. She was a member of the Doric Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, in Cranston. She was a member of the East Harwich (Mass.) United Methodist Church.
She leaves a daughter, Doris Genever of Warwick; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at East Harwich United Methodist Church, Church Street, East Harwich, Mass.

PATRICIA K. "PAT" MOSHER - Providence
PATRICIA K. "PAT" MOSHER, 54, of Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of Providence, a jewelry manufacturing supervisor, died Sunday at Columbia Sunrise Hospital, Las Vegas, after a long illness. She was the wife of Harry T. Mosher.
Born in Providence, a daughter of Rose M. (Guertin) Foran of Las Vegas, and the late Thomas E. Foran, she moved to Las Vegas four years ago.
Besides her husband and mother, she leaves her mother-in-law, Lucy F. Ducey of Cranston, and her sister-in-law, Mary E. Guido of West Warwick.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated tomorrow at 10 a.m. at Shrine of the Most Holy Redeemer, Reno Avenue, Las Vegas. Burial will be in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, Las Vegas.

GEORGE A. KREYDATUS - Providence
GEORGE A. KREYDATUS, 71, of Maude Street, a sheet metal fabricator with Prisco Sheet Metal for many years before retiring in 1987, died Sunday at the V.A. Medical Center.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Andrew and Sophie (Jolikounski) Kreydatus. Mr. Kreydatus was an Army veteran of World War II.
He leaves a son, George A. Kreydatus Jr. of Johnston; two sisters, Dorothy Conte of Providence, and Helen Lopez of East Greenwich; and two grandchildren.
The funeral service will be private. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery in Exeter.

CANDIDA P. SILVA - Providence
CANDIDA P. SILVA, 98, of Proctor Place, a spinner for the former Geneva Mills in North Providence for 25 years, retiring in 1964, died Thursday at Edmund Place Health Center in East Providence. She was the wife of the late Robert Silva.
Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Manuel and Maria (Tavares) Pina, she lived in Providence for 60 years. Mrs. Silva was a communicant of Holy Name Church.
She leaves a brother, William Pina of East Providence; and two sisters, Ida Monteiro of Columbus, Ga., and Beatrice P. Andrade of East Providence.
The funeral will be held tomorrow at 11:45 a.m. from the Marino-Prata Home, 375 Branch Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 at Holy Name Church Chapel, Camp Street. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Pawtucket.

GILBERTO RODRIGUEZ - Providence
GILBERTO RODRIGUEZ, 76, of 21 Marvin St., a maintenance worker in the garment industry in New York for 15 years until 23 years ago, died Sunday at Eleanor Slater Hospital, Cranston. He was the husband of Anna (Pererira) Rodriguez.
Born in Puerto Rico, he was a son of the late Leonardo and Antonia (Arizmendis) Rodriguez. Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Raul Arenas of Providence, and Jose Rodriguez of New York City.
He also leaves three daughters, Carmen Arenas and Mirtelina Arenas, both in Puerto Rico, and Abigail Rodriguez of New York City; a sister, Luz Rodriguez of New York City; 29 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was a brother of the late Felix, Maria, Rafaela and Teresa Rodriguez.
The funeral and burial will be in New York City.

CATHERINE M. KELLY - Providence
CATHERINE M. KELLY, 73, of Cass Street, a secretary for the Internal Revenue Service for 12 years, died Sept. 25 at Rhode Island Hospital.
Born in Central Falls, a daughter of the late John E. and Agnes (Duffy) Kelly, she lived in Pawtucket before moving to Providence 25 years ago.
Ms. Kelly leaves a brother, John H. Kelly of Newport, formerly of Pawtucket.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from the McAloon-Kelly Funeral Home, 213 Garden St., Pawtucket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Mary Church, Pine Street. Burial will be in Mount St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket.
