WILLIAM R. GARY - Warwick
WILLIAM R. GARY, 72, of Warwick Avenue, a building superintendent for Granoff Associates, Providence, for 10 years, died Wednesday at home. He was the husband of Barbara Smiley-Gary.
Born in Frenchtown, N.J., a son of the late Frank L. Gary Jr. and Ruth (Gaskill) Gary, he lived in Toms River, N.J., for 37 years before moving to Warwick in 1987.
Mr. Gary had been an antiques dealer in New Jersey for 30 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving with the 54th Portable Surgical Hospital as a surgical technician and embalmer in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater on the ships Mercy and Hope. He was a graduate of the Eckels School of Mortuary Science, Philadelphia, Pa.
Besides his wife, he leaves four daughters, Cynthia Murray and Claudia Gary, both of Bayville, N.J., Marcia Percival of Berlin, N.J., and Barta Gary of Gulfport, Fla.; a son, William R. Gary Jr. of Houston, Texas; a brother, Alan Gary of Columbus, N.J.; a sister, Patricia Stout of Cinnaminson, N.J.; and 10 grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Frank L. Gary III.
A memorial service will be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. at the Swan Point Cemetery chapel, Blackstone Boulevard, Providence. Burial will be in North Crosswicks Cemetery, Crosswicks, N.J.

JENNY L. (SWANSON) HUNTER - Warwick
JENNY L. (SWANSON) HUNTER, 97, of the Brentwood Nursing Home, a bookkeeper/secretary for the former Morrow Color Plate Company, Cranston, for 17 years before retiring in 1967, and an employee for T.D. Brown for 10 years until retiring in 1982, died Wednesday. She was the wife of the late James E. Hunter Sr.
Born in Warwick, a daughter of the late Carl E. and Karin A. (Hedberg) Swanson, she lived in Cranston most of her life before moving to Warwick seven years ago.
Mrs. Hunter was a member of Phillips Memorial Baptist Church, Cranston.
She leaves three sons, J. Edward Hunter Jr. of Warwick, Lowell S. Hunter of Clinton, Conn., and Marshall C. Hunter of Ayer, Mass.; two brothers, Helmer G. Swanson of Warwick and Wallace E. Swanson of Cranston; a sister, Elena V. Nelson of Warwick; 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Alfred W. Swanson.
Funeral services will be private.

MARK W. DOVE - Westerly
MARK W. DOVE, 64, of 38 Canal St., a machinist at the former GAF Co., now American Felt and Filter, died Wednesday at Westerly Health Center. He was the husband of Lotte (Roschlau) Dove.
A lifelong Westerly resident, he was a son of the late Walter and Minnie (Babcock) Dove.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Besides his wife he leaves two sons, Bruce D. Dove of Oakland, Ore., and Anton R. Dove of Westerly; a daughter, Hedwig P. Roderick of Westerly; a brother, Philip Dove in Arizona; two sisters, Hope Morse of Coventry and Priscilla Garner of Baltimore, Md.; and six grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Ferris Dove, Ruth McFarland, Marjorie Guild and Norma Potter.
The funeral will be tomorrow at 10 a.m. in the Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. Burial will be in the R.I. Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.

ARMAND G. BOUCHER - West Warwick
ARMAND G. BOUCHER, 93, of Crossland Road, a driver for the state for 30 years, died yesterday at Cedar Crest Nursing Center in Cranston. He was the husband of the late Lucinda (McMahon) Boucher.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Jeremie and Lucie (Conde) Boucher. He had lived in West Warwick for the past 40 years.
He served as head driver for Dr. William Rice when Rice served as director of the former R.I. Medical Center in Cranston. Mr. Boucher retired in 1967.
He was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons.
He is survived by one sister, IreneValin of Ocala, Fla., and three nieces. He was the brother of the late Renee, Fernand and Arthur Boucher, and Violet Carlson.
Mr. Boucher's funeral will be held Monday at 8:15 a.m. from the R. Potvin & Son Funeral Home, 45 Curson St., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:15 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Providence Street. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.

OMER A. BRIEN - Woonsocket
OMER A. BRIEN, 66, of 169 Burnside Ave., a forklift operator at the former General Dynamics shipyard in Quincy, Mass., for many years, retiring in 1985, died Wednesday at the Camp Erin Camp Grounds in Douglas, Mass., after being stricken. He was the husband of Claire T. (Plante) Brien.
A lifelong Woonsocket resident, he was a son of the late Herve "Pete" and Medora (Masse) Brien.
Mr. Brien, an avid bowler, was a member of the Memory Lanes and Happy Rollers leagues in Woonsocket.
Besides his wife he leaves three sons, Donald Brien of Eugene, Ore., Russell and Kenneth Brien, both of Woonsocket; three daughters, Gayle DelSelva, Patricia Lavallee and Amy St. Lawrence, all of Woonsocket; two brothers, Rene Brien of Woonsocket and Marcel Brien of Daytona Beach, Fla.; three sisters, Rita Nosieux,, Doris Krupski and Annie Gill, all of Woonsocket; 10 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated tomorrow at 10 a.m. in St. Louis Church, Rathbun St., Woonsocket. Burial will be in St. Jean the Baptist Cemetery, Bellingham, Mass.

IDA RAPKO - Woonsocket
IDA RAPKO, 84, of 16 Greene St., an inspector for the former Finklestein's Co. for many years, retiring in 1975, died yesterday at the Rehabilitation Hosptial of Rhode Island, North Smithfield. She was the wife of the late Stephen Rapko.
Born in Natick, R.I., a daughter of the late Sylvio and Angelina (DeLeo) Rossi, she had lived in Woonsocket since 1923.
She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Senior Citizens Club.
She leaves three sons, Stephen A. Rapko of Franklin, Mass., Michael Rapko of North Smithfield, Dennis J. Rapko of Woonsocket; two sisters, Hilda Rainone of Woonsocket, Lida Vitale of Greenville; and five grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Thomas, Aldo, Plinio, Pio, Onorio and Gasper Rossi, Barbara Crisifulli, Ethel Nault and Viola Minchillo.
The funeral will be tomorrow at 10 a.m. from the Kubaska Funeral Home, 35 Harris Ave., with a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Michael Ukranian Catholic Church, Blackstone Street. Burial will be in the parish cemetery, in Blackstone, Mass.

EMMANUEL E. VEVISH - Coventry
EMMANUEL E. VEVISH, 78, of Long Pond Road, died Wednesday at Kent County Memorial Hospital. He was a calibration technician at the former naval air station at Quonset Point for 20 years before retiring in 1973. He was the husband of the late Doris M. (Lemoine).
He was born in West Warwick, the son of the late Emmanuel and Sylvania (Fratus) Vevish.
Mr. Vevish was an Army veteran of World War II, and a 32nd-degree member of the Masons. He was a member of the Manchester Lodge AF & AM in Coventry.
He is survived by two daughters, Sheila A. Byrne and Deborah A. Falodquist, both of Coventry; three sisters, Angelina Vinagro of Johnstown, Mary Perry of Warwick and Constance Marabella of Anaheim, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday at 10 a.m. from the R. Potvin and Son Funeral Home, West Warwick. Burial with military honors will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, West Warwick.

EMMA REHFUSS - Cranston
EMMA REHFUSS, 94, formerly of Keith Avenue, died Wednesday in the Scadinavian Home, where she had lived for the past two years. She was the wife of the late Louis G. Rehfuss.
Born in Halland, Sweden, a daughter of the late Birger and Pernilla (Anderson) Larson, she had lived in Cranston for the past 70 years.
She was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church, and had been a volunteer at the Hattie Ide Chaffee nursing home in East Providence for many years.
She leaves two daughters, Marion R. Kullberg of Warwick and Corinne R. Languedoc of Hamilton, Mass.; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be tomorrow at 2 p.m. in Bethany Lutheran Church, 116 Rolfe St., Cranston. Burial will be in the Grace Church Cemetery, Providence.

THOMAS F. KELLY - Cumberland
THOMAS F. KELLY, 82, of 1 Matthew Rd., personnel manager at the former Owens Corning Fiberglas Co. and employed there for more than 40 years before he retired in 1980, died Wednesday in the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the husband of the late Edna A. (Taraska) Kelly.
A lifelong Cumberland resident, he was a son of the late James and Mary (Callahan) Kelly.
Mr. Kelly was a Eucharistic minister at St. John Vianney Church and also at the Woonsocket Health Center and the Diamond Hill Nursing Center.
He was a member of the Fiberglas Retirees Club, the Fraternal Order of Police Associates, Lodge 14, and the ARC of Northern Rhode Island.
He leaves a daughter, Maureen Parmenter, with whom he lived; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Kelly was the father of the late Janice DeStefano and the brother of the late John and James Kelly and Virginia Wreeden and Mary Carr.
The funeral will be tomorrow at 9 a.m. from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rd., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. John Vianney Church, Diamond Hill Road. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

ALPHONSE J. "MISTER DEE" DANDENEAU - East Providence
ALPHONSE J. "MISTER DEE" DANDENEAU, 83, of 120 Fort St., a store manager at the former Nyanza Discount Store in Bristol for 10 years, retiring in 1975, died Wednesday at home. He was the husband of the late Margaret (Spagnoli) Dandeneau.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Joseph and Marie Louise (Alarie) Dandeneau, he had lived in East Providence for the past 59 years.
Mr. Dandeneau had previously managed the former Broadway Mill Outlet in East Providence. He had also worked at the former Boston Store in Providence.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of Loretto Church and a life member of the East Providence Council Knights of Columbus.
He leaves two daughters Carol-Ann Vincent of East Providence, with whom he lived, Jean M. Kirouac of Blue Point, Long Island, N.Y.; a son, Robert J. Dandeneau of Warwick, N.Y.; a sister, Ida M. Dandeneau of East Providence, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Eva Remillard, Louise, Arthur, Albert, Alfred, Wilfred and George Dandeneau.
The funeral will be tomorrow at 8 a.m. from the Perry-McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m in Our Lady of Loretto Church, Waterman Avenue. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
