JANE L. GOLDSMITH - Pawtucket
JANE L. GOLDSMITH, 86, of Blooming Grove, N.Y., a retired office manager and secretary at William E. Tolman Senior High School in Pawtucket, died yesterday at home. She was the wife of the late George H. Goldsmith Jr.
Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Fred Leptew and Thekla-Nee.
She was a member of the Smithfield Avenue Congregational Church, the United Church of Christ in Pawtucket and the Blooming Grove Congregational Church in Blooming Grove, N.Y.
Mrs. Goldsmith was a member of the Pawtucket Women's Club, and the Blooming Grove Senior Citizens Club. She had been a volunteer at Pawtucket Memorial Hospital and Slater Mill.
She leaves a daughter, Nancy J. Schneider of Blooming Grove, N.Y.; a son, Thomas O. Goldsmith of Apex, N.C.; a sister, Anne Ruggieri of Cranston; and seven grandchildren. She was the mother of the late William A. Goldsmith.
A memorial service will be held June 21 at 1 p.m. in the Swan Point Cemetery Chapel, Providence.

ELIZABETH SURABIAN - Providence
ELIZABETH SURABIAN, 87, of the St. Elizabeth Home, 109 Melrose St., formerly of Arlington, Mass., a secretary at W.T. Grant Co. in the New England regional office, before retiring, died Monday at the home.
Born in Boston, she was a daughter of the late Lazarus and Rose (Kararian) Surabian. Miss Surabian was a former member of Holy Trinity Armenian Church in Cambridge, Mass.
She leaves a sister, Alice Veznaian of Warwick; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Lillian and Vahan Surabian.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Holy Trinity Armenian Church, 1455 Brattie St., Cambridge. Burial will be in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.

MARIA G. "MARY" ANASTASI - Providence
MARIA G. "MARY" ANASTASI, 85, of Grove Street, a jewelry worker for 60 years, retiring 25 years ago, died yesterday at home. She was the wife of Nicholas Anastasi.
A lifelong Providence resident, she was a daughter of the late Nicola and Giovannina (Calise) Capuano.
She was a communicant of Holy Ghost Church in Providence.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Anthony N. Anastasi of Providence; a daughter, Joyce A. Ryan of Cranston; a brother, Frank Capuano of Pawtucket; three sisters, Katherine Laborio, Concetta Schultheis and Josephine Colacone, all of Cranston; and three grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Frank Coppa, Domenic Capuano and Angelina Macchione.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 8 a.m. from the Thomas Gattone & Son Funeral Home, 334 Broadway, Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 in the Holy Ghost Church, Knight Street, Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.

MARY L. SHARP - Providence
MARY L. SHARP, 76, of Judson Avenue, Mystic, Conn., died Tuesday a the Mary Elizabeth Nursing Home in Mystic. She was the wife of Lloyd M. Sharp.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late John and Norma (Hayes) Hutzli.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Donald L. Sharp of Charlotte, Vt.; a sister, Freda V. Sprito of Providence; and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be private.

PETER FIORE SR. - Providence
PETER FIORE SR., 67, of Eastwood Avenue, an installer for Standard Glass Co. of Providence for 26 years, retiring in 1995, died Tuesday at home. He was the husband of Anna (Antonelli) Fiore.
A lifelong Providence resident he was a son of the late Francesco and Antonetta (Sylvestre) Fiore.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Fiore was a communicant of St. Anthony Church in Providence and a member of the church's bowling league.
Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Carolyn Reid of Coventry; three sons, Peter Fiore Jr., Brian Fiore, and Michael Fiore, all of Providence; three sisters, Irene Marotti of Providence, Rose Muccino and Mary Olandi, both of North Providence; and six grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. from the Romano Funeral Home, 627 Union Ave., Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony Church, Plainfield Street, at 11. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.

DURIES BROWN - Providence
DURIES BROWN, 76, of 160 Benedict St., a tire mechanic for the Goodyear Tire Co. for many years before retiring, died Sunday at Rhode Island Hospital.
Born in Shelby, N.C., a son of the late Zealous and Vastene (Fleck) Brown, he lived in Providence for five years, previously living in North Carolina.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He leaves a brother, Mitchell Jolly of Providence; two sisters, Edith McGill and Daisy Hopper, also of Providence.
The funeral will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the Bright Funeral Home, 290 Public St. Burial will be in the R.I. Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.

CELIA TARTAGLIA - Providence
CELIA TARTAGLIA, 81, of Hagan St., died Tuesday at Miriam Hospital. She was the wife of Vincent Tartaglia.
Born in Cranston, a daughter of the late Stefano and Mariann (Tanzi) Martino, she lived in Providence for 15 years, previously living in Cranston and Pawtucket.
She was a communicant of St. Ann Church. Mrs. Tartaglia was a member of the Hagan Manor Association, Fairlawn Senior Citizens in Pawtucket, the DaVinci Center, and was a former member of the Sons of Italy in Providence.
Besides her husband she leaves two daughters, Betty Parente of Lincoln, and Ann Colannino of Providence; a brother, James Martino of Cranston; a sister, Rose Adamo of Johnston, 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Vincent H. Tartaglia.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Mariani Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Ann Church, Hawkins Street, Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.

ED BUCKLEY - Providence
ED BUCKLEY, 72, of 19th Ave., Phoenix, Ariz., a plumber, died May 29 at home. He was the husband of Marcie (Pruitt) Buckley.
Born in Providence, a son of the late John Buckley and Vera (Gosselin) Buckley, he lived in Arizonia for 44 years.
Mr. Buckley was a Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of the Plumbers Union Local 469.
Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Gail Kuhn of Providence and Melbourne Beach, Fla.; a son, Edward J. Buckley of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Mary Shirtleff of Providence and Dorothy Kenyon of Phoenix, Ariz.; three brothers, Robert Buckley of Johnston, Ray Buckley of Phoenix, Ariz., and Craig Buckley in Idaho; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Phoenix Memorial Mortuary, 200 W. Beardsley Rd., Pheonix, Ariz.

HUGH F. MURRAY - Providence
HUGH F. MURRAY, 79, of Klondike Street, an engineer for Hamel-Dahl Co. before retiring, died Monday at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence.
Born in East Providence, a son of the late Robert J. and Mary E. (Pierce) Murray, he lived in Providence for 45 years.
Mr. Murray was an Army veteran of World War II. He had attended the Rhode Island School of Design, and his hobbies included photography and woodworking
He leaves a sister, Mary Esther Murray of Providence.
The funeral will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Thomas Church, Fruit Hill Avenue, Providence. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Bristol.

PASCO SASSO, 71, of Steuben Street, a retired machine operator, died Saturday at home.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Peter and Maria (Columbo) Sasso, he was a lifelong resident of Providence.
Mr. Sasso was an Army veteran of World War II.
He leaves a brother, Saverio Sasso of Stockton, Calif.
The funeral will be private.

DORIS L. HOAGLAND - Somerset
DORIS L. HOAGLAND, 80, of Putnam Pike, died Tuesday at Miriam Hospital. She was the widow of Robert K. Hoagland.
Born in Plainfield, N.J., a daughter of the late George and Isabelle (Gloak) Lyman, she lived in Smithfield for two years, previously living in Enfield, Conn., Nashua, N.J., and Sommerville, N.J.
She volunteered over 10,000 hours for the American Red Cross in Sommerville, N.J.
She had been a member of the Enfield, Conn. Congregational Church Women's Fellowship, the United Reform Church Women's Fellowship in Sommerville, N.J., and the Chepachet Union Church. She was a member of the Somerset Hospital Auxiliary in Sommerville.
She leaves a son, Peter L. Hoagland of Amherst, Mass.; a daughter, Sandra K. Bicknell of Chepachet; and six grandchildren.
A service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Chepachet Union Church, Putnam Pike, Chepachet. Burial will be in the New Cemetery, Sommerville, N.J.
