DOROTHY JANE DUNN - East Providence

DOROTHY JANE DUNN, 69, of Plum Road, a secretary for Narragansett Electric Co. for 10 years, retiring in 1959, died yesterday at Northwood Health Care Center in Bedford, N.H. She was the wife of the late Alvin R. Dunn.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Woodford R. and Barbara (Leavens) Jones, she moved to East Providence 38 years ago.

Mrs. Dunn leaves a son, Steven J. Dunn of Bedford; a brother, George W. Jones of Nahant, Mass.; a sister, Elizabeth Adams of Greenland, N.H.; and two grandsons.

The funeral service will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. at the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home, 350 Willett Ave., Riverside. Burial will be in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.

ROBERT E. "BOBBY" JOHNSON III - East Providence

ROBERT E. "BOBBY" JOHNSON III, 50, of 172 Ferris Ave., a manager for Nynex for 24 years, retiring in 1996, died Sunday at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence. He was the husband of Cheryl L. (Jones) Johnson.

Born in Providence, he was a son of Robert E. Johnson Jr. and Edith L. (Miller) Johnson, both of East Providence. Mr. Johnson was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Gospel Tabernacle Outreach Ministries, where he served as educational instructor, and coordinator of the Dr. Martin Luther King Youth Breakfast. He was a 1990 graduate of Providence College. In 1996 he earned a master's degree in agency counseling from Rhode Island College. He was a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity.

Besides his wife and parents, he leaves a daughter, Tracee L. Johnson, a son, Robert E. Johnson IV, and a brother, William P. Johnson, all of East Providence.

The funeral service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Gospel Tabernacle Outreach Ministries, 145 Oakland Ave., Providence. Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.

MARIA OLIVIA CARVALHO - Fall River

MARIA OLIVIA CARVALHO, 74, of 304 Columbia St., died Sunday at St. Anne's Hospital, after an illness. She was the wife of the late Francisco Carvalho.

Born in Sao Antonio, Sao Miguel, the Azores, a daughter of the late Jose and Clara dos Anjos (Martins) Pimentel, she had lived in Fall River since 1967.

Mrs. Carvalho was a member of Santo Christo Church.

She leaves four daughters, Olivia Camara and Teresa Pereira, both of Fall River, Lucy Estrella of Somerset, and Clara Borges of Swansea; six sons, John F. Carvalho, Jeremias Carvalho and Cesar Carvalho, all of Swansea, Jose M. Carvalho, Boanerges Carvalho and Luis Carvalho, all of Fall River; three sisters, Teresa Oliveira of Fall River, Filomena Pimentel of Toronto, Canada, and Guilhermina Rego of Hudson, Mass.; three brothers, Jose Pimentel and Joao Pimentel, both of Hudson, and Jeremias Pimentel of Sao Miguel; 25 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Antone Carvalho, and sister of the late Maria Anastacio.

The funeral will be held tomorrow at 8 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., with a funeral Mass at 9 at Santo Christo Church, Columbia Street. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Robeson Street.

ALAN J. CRANE - Fall River

ALAN J. CRANE, 33, of Hartwell Street, formerly of New Bedford, a certified nurses' aide with Blaire House, New Bedford, for the last five years, died yesterday at home after an illness.

Born in Fall River, a son of Betty Jane (Bird) Crane of Fall River and the late Joseph F. Crane, he had been a Fall River resident for most of his life, living in New Bedford for three years.

Mr. Crane was an avid dog lover who raised and bred chows until his illness. He had worked at several other nursing homes in the Fall River and New Bedford areas and had also been employed by Lightolier.

Besides his mother, he leaves two brothers, Kevin Jackimocz of Fall River and Frederick "Ricky" Crane of Dartmouth; and a sister, Susan Astle of Fall River.

The funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the O'Rourke Funeral Home, 571 Second St. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

JOSE MATEUS CAMARA - Fall River

JOSE MATEUS CAMARA, 71, of 30 Tecumseh St., a retired general contractor, died Sunday at home after an illness. He was the husband of Marcelina (Gonzalez) Camara.

Born in Sao Miguel, the Azores, a son of the late Antonio Mateus Camara and the late Cecelia (Simoes) Camara, he had lived in Caracas, Venezuela, for 12 years, where he met his wife before moving to Fall River in 1962.

Mr. Camara was a communicant of SS. Peter and Paul Church.

Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Hildegar J. Camara and Fall River City Councilman Joseph D. Camara, both of Fall River; two daughters, Ana Morais of Fall River and Deborah Imbriglio of Rehoboth; a sister, Maria Mercedes Dias of Providence; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Manuel Mateus, Antonio Mateus Camara, Joao Mateus and Maria Conceicao da Silva.

The funeral will be held tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. from the Silva-Faria Funeral Home, 730 Bedford St., with a funeral Mass at 9:30 in SS. Peter and Paul Church, Dover Street. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery.

LEO D. TAIVALANTTI - Hopkinton

LEO D. TAIVALANTTI, 70, of Pompano Beach, Fla., an employee of Bostich in East Greenwich for 16 years before retiring, died Thursday at home. He was the husband of Ann (Evans) Taivalantti.

Born in New York, N.Y., a son of the late Kalle K. and Ida (Nokelainen) Taivalantti, he had been a resident of Hopkinton before moving to Florida 10 years ago.

He attended the rapid advancement program in New York Public Schools and graduated from Westerly High School. He studied at The Julliard School in New York.

Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Lea Karen Rockholz of Westerly; a son, Eric Leo Taivalantti of Providence; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a date and time to be announced.

ORRILL S. YOLE - Jamestown

ORRILL S. YOLE, 90, of 3210 Waterside Drive, Englewood, Fla., died Sunday at the home of her son, Alfred N. Yole Jr., in Jamestown. She was the wife of the late Alfred N. Yole Sr.

Born in Rochester, N.Y., a daughter of the late Charles and Franc (Baker) Saunders, she had lived in Florida since 1957.

Mrs. Yole was a volunteer at Englewood Hospital for the last 10 years.

Besides her son, she leaves another son, Charles Yole of Garland, Texas; a daughter, Barbara Farmer of Globe, Ariz.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Betsy Byers.

The funeral will be private.

BEVERLY A. MORIN - Johnston

BEVERLY A. MORIN, 66, of Merino Avenue, the longest surviving dialysis patient in the state, died Friday at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. She was the wife of Charles N. Morin.

A lifelong Johnston resident, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Susan (Brotherton) Doughty. She had worked for Trifari, Cushman and Fishel Co. for five years, retiring because of illness in 1973.

Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Linda J. Meldonian of Cranston and Susan H. McLaughlin, of Killen, Texas; two sons, Robert C. Morin of Johnston and Ralph N. Morin of Providence; a brother, Norris Doughty of Providence; and two grandchildren. She was the half sister of the late Gladys Carl.

The funeral will be held Thursday at 9:15 a.m. from the Elliot M. Robbins Chapel, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Thomas Church, Fruit Hill Avenue, Providence. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.

YVETTE MARCOTTE - Lincoln

YVETTE MARCOTTE, 91, of 303 Rhodes Ave., Woonsocket, died Sunday at the Friendly Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Alphonse Marcotte.

Born in Manville, a daughter of the late Ulysses and Laudia (Noel) Lariviere, she had lived in Manville most of her life.

She leaves three sons, Alphonse U. Marcotte of Hyde Park, N.Y., Robert A. Marcotte of Enfield, Conn., and Bernard P. Marcotte of Pittsfield, Mass.; five sisters, Ann Heroux of Hopatcong, N.J., Lucienne Lavallee of Woonsocket, Azella Rivard, Gertrude Houle and Muriel Masse, all of Manville; a brother, Eugene Lariviere of Manville; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Joseph Lariviere and Ceres Labrecque.

The funeral will be held tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. from the Roy Funeral Home, 1 Bouvier Ave., Manville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 in St. James Church, Division Street, Manville. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Manville.

LLOYD C. PETERS - Lincoln

LLOYD C. PETERS, 81, of Smithfield Avenue, a machinist at Brown & Sharpe Mfg. Co. before he retired in 1981, died Sunday in Miriam Hospital, Providence. He was the husband of the late Edith B. (Anderson) Peters.

Born in Blackwater, Va., he was a son of the late Benjamin and Effie (Lawson) Peters. He had lived in Lincoln for the last 53 years.

Mr. Peters was a World War II Army veteran.

He leaves a daughter, Linda A. Gallagher of Lincoln; a brother, Garney Peters in Virginia; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

The funeral will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m. at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Rd., Lincoln. Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.

WILDA F. TRYON, 97, of 6 O'Donnell Rd., died Saturday at Newport Hospital. She was the wife of William F. Tryon.

Born in St. Guillaume, Quebec, Canada, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Cierina (Gelinas) Forest.

Mrs. Tryon had been a classified advertising and credit manager at the Nashua Telegraph Newspaper Co.

Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Edward A. Beupre of Portsmouth; a daughter, Sr. Wilda Beaupre of Manchester, N.H.; two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. in the Calvary United Methodist Church, Turner and Wyatt Roads.
