Donald L. Murphy, 65, of Castle Shannon, formerly of White hall. "The Coach". Beloved Father of seven children, Mark of Baltimore, MD., Michael (Edie) of Bear, DE, Robert (Karen) of White hall, Dean (Lori) of Alvin, TX, James (Kathy) of Bethel Park, Donna Haley (Chuck) of Lancaster, PA, and Holly Tuite (Aidan) of Dublin, OH. Son of Harriett Murphy and the late Delmar Murphy. Brother of Sue Hankowsky, grandfather of 21 grandchildren, and beloved companion of Loretta Gonzales. Friends will be received at the JOHN F. SLATER FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Funeral prayer on Wednesday morning at 9:30. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church at 10 a.m. He retired from LTV Railroad in January, 2000, while fighting a courageous battle and beating the odds (a philosophy he used and taught throughout his life.) Mr. Murphy coached basketball at St. Gabriel School, St. Francis Academy, Duquesne University, and Thomas Jefferson High School for over 30 years. Though retired from coaching for some time, he never lost his love for sports. With the love and encouragement of family and friends, he coached himself into overtime. Kathryn A. Yezek Pravlik
East Huntingdon Township

Kathryn A. Yezek Pravlik, 77, of East Huntingdon Township, Mt. Pleasant, died at the Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant, Saturday afternoon, Sept. 9, 2000. Kathryn was born Jan. 10, 1923, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of the late William P. Sr. and Minnie Gerhke Yezek. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Scottdale; was a student of the former East Huntingdon High School; and was a member of the Slovak Club Ladies Auxiliary and the C.S.A., the former Lodge Westmoreland 171. Kathryn was a homemaker and also had a catering service. Her memories will be cherished by her family: daughters , Carol Kauffman and husband, Alton, of Mt. Pleasant and Doris Jean Butts and husband, Kenneth, of Connellsville; four grandchildren, Richard Kauffman, Kendra Golden, Kathy Butts and Adam Butts; two great-grandchildren, Jacob Matthew Golden and Jesse Lee Golden; an adoptive grandson, Andrew Buchta; and her brother, William Yezek and wife, Eleanor, of Mt. Pleasant. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Francis "Kayo" Pravlik, on Jan. 31, 1988; and an infant brother, Carl Yezek. Friends will be received in the EUGENE G. SALOOM FUNERAL HOME INC., Main Street, Mt. Pleasant, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Her funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Andrew F. Dougherty officiating. Her interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

Audrey L. Ruccio
Darragh

Audrey L. Ruccio, 69, our "precious mother " of Darragh, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, in Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. She was born Feb. 1, 1931, in Havaco, W.Va., a daughter of the late Horace and Reta (Harclerode) Jones. Mrs. Ruccio, Audrey, had just retired in October, 1999, from Jeannette District Memorial Hospital, where she had worked for many years as an R.N. supervisor. She also attended the Word of Life Ministries, Greensburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Ruccio, in 1982; and an infant son, Gregory DiBagno. Audrey is survived by two daughters , Mrs. Tona McCallister and her husband, David, and Mrs. Dona Lynn Reinsmith and her husband, Douglas, both of Darragh; and a son, Mr. Paul Ruccio and wife, Margaret, of Darragh; two stepsons, James and George Ruccio; a stepdaughter, Nancy Ruccio; seven grandchildren, Denyel, David, Justin, Aaron, Alexandra, Rachel and Vanessa; a great-grandson, Michael; four stepgrandchildren, Sherry, Jennifer, George and Sarah; a sister, Mrs. Ruby Timblin and husband, Joseph, of Allison Park; a nephew, Kirk Timblin; and a niece, Karen Tyler. She will also be sadly missed by her beloved cat, Maxwell. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., Herminie, where a funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. with Pastor Thomas A. Walters of the Word of Life Ministries officiating. Interment will follow in Madison Union Cemetery.

Samuel (Severno) Scataglia
Jefferson Hills Borough

Samuel (Severno) Scataglia, 73, of Jefferson Hills Borough, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, in Jefferson Center Hospital. He was born April 28, 1927, in Permo, Italy. He was retired after 50 years of service as a union carpenter, Local 230. Also a Korean War veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Catherine (DiSaverio) Scataglia. Surviving are four children, a daughter, Annette of Elizabeth Township; three sons , Pat, of Jefferson Hills Borough, Samuel Jr. of Chicago, Ill., and Anthony of Houston, Texas ; and four grandchildren. Friends will be received in the A.J. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME, 555 Fifth St., Clairton, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Paulinus Church, Clairton. Interment Jefferson Memorial Park.

James Shamey
Richland Township

James Shamey, 65, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000. He was born Feb. 26, 1935, in Farrell, Pa. Mr. Shamey retired from Pine-Richland High School after 32 years of great dedication and service. He served in the Air Force and graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor of science degree and master's degree. He was a member of the Penn State Alumni Association, PSEA and NEA. Survivors include his wife and best friend for 40 years, Lois Ann (McClellan) Shamey; his Father , Aziz Shamey of Arnold; four daughters , Janine Shamey Lindsey and her husband George of Greenville, S.C., Kelly Shamey Sanguigni and her husband Bob of Allison Park, Heather Shamey Juzwick and her husband Philip of Robinson Township, and Kimrlee Ann Shamey and her special friend Larry of McCandless; two sisters , Jennie Shamey of Washington , D.C., and Marianne Shamey Prather and her husband Dirk of Sun City, Ariz.; a brother, Joe Shamey and his wife JoLee of New Kensington; four grandchildren, Noah and Atticus Lindsey, and Amanda and Elana Sanguigni; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother , Afduke (Toney) Shamey. His family, friends, community, and the many people whose lives he touched will immensely miss him. Friends will be received from noon to 3 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME LTD., 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown, with the Rev. Dr. David McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Allegheny County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to the Donovan Sarvis Neurosurgical Research Fund, West Penn Hospital, 4800 Friendship Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15224.

Agatha `Boody' M. Shields
North Side

Agatha "Boody" M. Shields, 78, died on Friday, Sept. 8, 2000, at her residence. Born in Pittsburgh on August 30, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Lucia Dalsallenda Graziano. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward "Ep" Shields. Mrs. Shields is survived by three sisters , Rose Graziano, North Side, Lucy Sambroak, Ross, Camille Sambroak, Ohio, and one brother, Joseph Graziano, Az. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday at SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 707 East Street on the North Side. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Our Lady Queen of Peace Worship Site, St. Peter Parish, with Father Job as celebrant. Interment in North Side Catholic Cememtery.

Anne Marie Rahne Squires
Wendel

Anne Marie Rahne Squires, of Wendel, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, at home. She was born in Herminie, a daughter of the late John and Meri Gaber Rahne. She was a retired registered nurse at Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steven L. Squires, in 1997; three brothers , Emil, Ludwig and John Rahne; and a sister, Mary Schwartz. She is survived by two sons , Stephen J. Squires and his wife, Candace, of Greensburg and Edward W. Squires of Wendel; two grandchildren, Brett and Erin Squires; a sister, Mildred Rahne Briscoe of Wendel; also nieces and nephews. Private viewing and funeral service will be held at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin. Private interment will be in Westmoreland County Memorial Park. Bridget (Simeone) Tamburino

Bridget (Simeone) Tamburino, died on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000. Beloved wife of the late Joseph. mother of Pat (Lillian) and Anthony (Lois); Five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sister of Pasquale Simeone of Spigno, Italy. Visitation Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at CHARLES W. TRENZ FUNERAL HOME, 11110 Frankstown Road, Penn Hills. Funeral mass in Immaculate Conception Church Tuesday at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to a favorite charity.

Dorothy I. Wagner

Dorothy I. Wagner, 76, of Youngwood, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, in Latrobe Area Hospital. She was born Oct. 2, 1923, in Youngwood, a daughter of the late Arnold and Violet Erwin Overholt. She retired as a tax collector for the Borough of Youngwood after 22 years. She was a member of the New Stanton Assembly of God Church. She is survived by her husband, William C. Wagner; and the following children: P. Jeffrey Long and his wife, Paula, of Columbus, Ohio, Marcia Sue Methven of Anaheim, Calif., Mary Beth Jaber and her husband, George, of Pittsburgh, Jonathan Scott Long and his wife, Jennifer, of Colchester, Conn.; stepson, William Calvin Wagner and his wife, Eileen, of Delmont; stepdaughter, Diane N. Dyky and her husband, Walter, of Westminster, Md.; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters , Hazel Wolfe of Carlisle, Ethel Trout of New Stanton and Grace Watson of Palm Harbor, Fla.; brother, Brinton Overholt of Clearwater, Fla.; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul E. Long; and brothers , Harry Overholt and Clayton Overholt. Friends will be received at the C. RICHARD McCAULEY FUNERAL HOME INC., Youngwood, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the New Stanton Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Alice H. Yingling Wawrzyniak
Scottdale

Alice H. Yingling Wawrzyniak, 75, of Scottdale, died Saturday evening, Sept. 9, 2000, in Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. A lifelong resident of Scottdale, Alice was born July 2, 1925, a daughter of the late Harry H. and Myrtle Baum Yingling. She was a life member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Scottdale. Alice was a member and trustee of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Mt. Pleasant VFW Post 3368, and had served as president in 1977. She was also a social member and supporter of the Scottdale Firemen's Club. Alice is survived by her loving husband, Joseph J. Wawrzyniak; a son, Joseph C. Wawrzyniak and his wife, Betty (Farino) of Scottdale; a daughter, Dolores Thomas of Connellsville; six grandchildren, Theresa Prinkey, Patty Skowronek, Jody Duffey, Tina Smetanka and Jeff and Frank Thomas; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by two sisters , Alta Dillon (Feb. 7, 1977) and Gladys E. Pierce (Aug. 31, 1983); and a brother, Allen Yingling (March 12, 1983). Alice's family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., at the FRANK KAPR FUNERAL HOME INC., 417 W. Pittsburgh St., Scottdale, where her funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. with her pastor, the Rev. Andrew F. Dougherty III, officiating. Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville.

Frank A. Wnek
Crabtree

Frank A. Wnek, 72, of Crabtree, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. Born May 23, 1928, in Crabtree, he was a son of the late John and Magdalena Janoski Wnek. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed by Westmoreland Manor. He was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church and the Crabtree Volunteer Fire Department. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary E. Wnek; three brothers , Andy, Charles and Walter Wnek; and a sister, Elizabeth Wnek. He is survived by two sisters , Mary A. Wnek and Josephine Wnek, both of Crabtree; two brothers , Louis Wnek of Pleasant Unity and Joseph Wnek of Poland; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends will be received at the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W.
