Alice M. Jones, 72, of Butler, formerly of Robinson, died Tuesday, April 25, 2000, at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. Born June 20, 1927, in Unity Township, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Ida Mae (Stahl) Fetter. Also preceded in death by her husband, Henry N. Jones; a nephew, Robert Brown; six brothers ; and three sisters . Surviving are a niece, Delores "Dolly" (wife of Lynn Busch) of Butler; a nephew, David Brown of Greensburg; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ernestine McMasters of Acme. Friends received from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Friday at the KENNETH A. STUART FUNERAL HOME, New Florence, with the Rev. William Pieringer officiating. CATHERINE ANN KOVAL
Catherine Ann Koval, of Porter Avenue, Scottdale, died Thursday, April 27, 2000, in Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. She was born in Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of the late Andrew and Julianna Madej Papier. Catherine was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Scottdale. Catherine leaves to cherish her memories her loving and devoted children, Richard J. Koval of Connellsville, Sister Barbara Mary Koval, S.C., of Scottdale, Evelyn Farris and her husband, Richard, of Scottdale and Kathleen E. Koval Byble of Scottdale; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters , Helen Golek of Greensburg, Genevieve Sokolsky of Youngstown, Pa., and Julia Makosky of Irwin; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John " White y" Koval, who died Jan. 14, 1987; brothers , Ignatius and Joseph Papier; and sisters , Lucille Papier, who died in infancy, and Frances Papier. Pittsburgh St., Scottdale, Friday from 1 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Scottdale, with the Rev. Gregory Premoshis as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. John R.C. Parish Cemetery, Scottdale. A parish rosary will be recited Friday at 3 p.m. and a parish wake service will be held Friday at 8 p.m., both in the funeral home.

Thelma E. Clugsten Parfitt, 86, of Irwin, died Thursday, April 27, 2000, in the Loyalhanna Care Center, Latrobe. She was born March 1, 1914, in Irwin, a daughter of the late David and Bessie Porter Clugsten. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Irwin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack R. Parfitt Sr., in 1993; a sister, Grace Ward; and three brothers , Robert, Russell, and John Clugsten. She is survived by a son, Jack R. Parfitt Jr. and his wife, Betty; and a daughter, Donna Jean Fulmer and her husband, Daryl, all of Irwin; four grandchildren, Stephen Parfitt, Barbara Ann Lissy, Daryl Fulmer Jr., and David R. Fulmer; three great-grandchildren, Brytni Parfitt, Joseph Lissy, and Amber Rossi; a sister, Eleanor Patrick of Chesapeake, Va.; a brother, James Clugsten of North Huntingdon; also nieces and nephews. Julia E. Foldvary Russo, 46, of Pittsburgh, formerly of North Versailles, died Wednesday, April 26, 2000. She was a daughter of Elvira Lux Foldvary of North Versailles and the late Vincent Foldvary. Also survived by her husband, Samuel V. Russo; a stepson, Jason Russo of Carnegie; a stepdaughter, Brenda Gorley of Washington ; a stepgranddaughter; and two sisters , Eva Mediate of Irwin and Anna Marie Tyburski of North Huntingdon. Mildred Bissett Six, 93, of Warrendale (Marshall Township), on Tuesday, April 25, 2000, at the Wexford House Nursing Center. Preceded in death by her husband, Charles Six; and great-grandson, Kent Geyer. She is survived by sons , R. Eugene Six and his wife, Thelma, of Franklin Park and Charles A. Six and his wife, Carol, of Tionesta; a brother, Herschel Bissett of New Freeport, Pa.; grandchildren, Marjorie Geyer, Linda Hague, Laurie Wild, Kenneth Six and Jeffrey Six; great-grandchildren, Kevin and Keith Geyer, Emily and Jeremy Hague, Katie Wild, and Michele Six; and a great-great-grandson, Bradley Geyer. HAROLD J. STERNER
Harold J. Sterner, 85, of Ruffsdale RD1, died Thursday, April 27, 2000. Born Feb. 28, 1915, in Sutersville, he was a son of the late Lemuel and Zoe Gorsuch Sterner. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a mechanic by the Pittsburgh Consolidated Coal Co. at its Hutchinson Mine. He was a member of the Sewickley Presbyterian Church, South Huntingdon Township, where he held various offices in the church, and was also a former member of the Mt. Pleasant Church of God. He was also a member of the U.M.W.A. Harold's greatest pleasure was to build his children's homes and provide for his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Grayce E. Williams Sterner, in 1998; also by four brothers , Earl, Roy, Richard and James Sterner; and two sisters , Dorothy Hoover and Margie Sterner. Surviving are two daughters , Mrs. Mike (Sharon) Williams of Ruffsdale RD1 and Mrs. Lynne Love of Harrisburg; a son, Marvin Sterner of Ruffsdale; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Frank Sterner of Acme; and two sisters , Yvonne Highberger of Latrobe and Twila Smith of Michigan. Arthur R. Stout, 76, of North Irwin, died Thursday, April 27, 2000, in the Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born March 2, 1924, in Youngwood, a son of the late Roy James and Anna Klingensmith Stout. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Stout; and a sister, Jessie Maughn. He is survived by his wife, Carole J. Kennedy Stout; a daughter, Gail Marion, and a son, Robert A. Stout, both of North Irwin; two grandchildren, Emily and Robbie Stout; three sisters , Helen Axton of Webster, Grace Evans of Belle Vernon, and Kathryn Olson of Michigan; a brother, Kenneth Stout of New Stanton; also nieces and nephews. Ruth I. Piel Wennagel, 87, of East McKeesport, died Wednesday, April 26, 2000. She was a member of Linway United Presbyterian Church, North Versailles, and the O.E.S. Corinth Chapter #229, Pitcairn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell A. Wennagel. She is survived by two daughters , Shirley I. Repko of Ohio and Joyce L. Helfrich of East McKeesport; two grandchildren; and a sister, Florence Reither of Stoneboro, Pa. Steve Yazach, of Peckville, died Thursday morning, April 27, 2000, in Mid-Valley Hospital, Peckville. Born in Slickville, he resided in Detroit, Mich., prior to moving to Peckville about 14 years ago. He was a son of the late George and Mary Petrune Yazach. He was a graduate of Bell Township High School. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Ford Motor Co., Michigan. He was a World War II Naval veteran serving in the Asiatic-Pacific area and American area campaigns. He received the National Defense Service Ribbon. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and Holy Name Society, Peckville, and the American Legion, Slickville. Surviving are his wife, Melinda Cicilioni Yazach; a daughter, Josephine Suthers of Peckville; two grandsons; five great-grandchildren; four sisters , Ann Faulk and Pauline Marcelli, both of Jeannette, Margaret Reed of West Virginia and Sophie Yazach of Slickville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Benjamin II; five brothers , Michael, John, Paul, George and Peter; and a sister, Mary. The funeral will be Monday from the JAMES M. George T. Adamson, 72, of Claridge, died Tuesday, April 25, 2000, in Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. He was born Nov. 21, 1927, in Wilkinsburg, a son of the late Abraham L. and Lucy Johnson Adamson. Prior to his retirement, he was a machine inspector for Miller Printing Machine Co. in Pittsburgh. He was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church in Murrysville. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, having served in the Seabees, was a member of the Bushy Run American Legion Post #260 in Claridge, and a former member of the original police force in Churchill Borough. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Faye Jobe Adamson; four sons , George G. and wife, Vicki Adamson, of Boquet, David and wife, Sona Adamson, of Harrison City, Patrick and wife, Rhonda Adamson, of Claridge, and Jeffrey and wife, Karen Adamson, of Jacksonville, N.C.; four daughters , Diane Adamson of Durham, N.C., Debbie and husband, Barry Kistler, Donna and husband, Lester Eakman, and Darlene Adamson, all of Claridge; a sister, June Bair of Palm Harbor, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and a niece and nephew. John Daniel Baker, 67, of New Alexandria, died Tuesday, April 25, 2000, in his residence. He was born March 10, 1933, in Grapeville, a son of the late David and Genevieve Ciccatela Baker. He was an independent steel hauler. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church of New Alexandria. He belonged to the New Alexandria Lions Club, Salem Ukes, Hannastown Firemen's Club, ELIS golf league, National Rifle Association, PGA Tour Patrons Club, and charter member of Chapter U of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association in Delmont. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Barbara Fatora Baker of New Alexandria; three children, Monaca Yothers and husband, Thomas, of Covington, Ky., Brenda Tilley of Augusta, Ga., and Daniel Baker and wife, Elaine, of Trafford; also two other children from a previous marriage, Kathy Baker of Florida and Scott Baker of Virginia. There are five grandchildren; brothers , David, Ronald, Kenneth, Harold and Robert; and a sister, Patricia. Friends received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the P. A memorial service will be held for Marc "Aggie" D'Agostino on Saturday, April 29, 2000. Friends are invited to a memorial service at the Darlington Fire Hall beginning at 4 p.m., followed by a party held in his honor at Cliff and Judi's at the junction of Route 259 and Route 30, Ligonier. This will be a celebration of Aggie's life and a gathering of loved ones and friends who wish him love, peace and joy as his Soul travels the journey on his chosen pathway. Aggie lived every moment here to the fullest and his parting is only a transition. He lives on in our hearts. He shared love and happiness with his family and was a good friend. He will be missed. Aggie wanted us to be happy that his Spirit is set free. He wanted us to toast to his memory and send him on his way with "one hell of a party." Casual dress is requested. Aggie would have it no other way.

Mary Fornal, 93, of Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday morning, April 26, 2000, in Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. She was born Dec. 29, 1906, in Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of the late John and Mary Scoff Havash. She was a member of Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church and the Rosary Society. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Broney Fornal, in 1986; a son, Richard Fornal; five brothers , John, Steve, Sylvester, George, and Felix Havash; and a sister, Ann Havash. She is survived by four sisters , Isabelle McElfresh of Mt. Pleasant, Dolly Lucas of Mt. Pleasant, Eleanor Prevenslik of Youngwood, and Josephine Grosser and husband, Donald, of Greensburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends were received in the EUGENE G.
