A memorial service will be held for Marc "Aggie" D'Agostino on Saturday, April 29, 2000. Friends are invited to a memorial service at the Darlington Fire Hall beginning at 4 p.m., followed by a party held in his honor at Cliff and Judi's at the junction of Route 259 and Route 30, Ligonier. This will be a celebration of Aggie's life and a gathering of loved ones and friends who wish him love, peace and joy as his Soul travels the journey on his chosen pathway. Aggie lived every moment here to the fullest and his parting is only a transition. He lives on in our hearts. He shared love and happiness with his family and was a good friend. He will be missed. Aggie wanted us to be happy that his Spirit is set free. He wanted us to toast to his memory and send him on his way with "one hell of a party." Casual dress is requested. Aggie would have it no other way.
HERBERT WESLEY HENRY
Herbert Wesley Henry, 90, of Greensburg, formerly of Jeannette, died Tuesday, April 25, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born Aug. 2, 1909, in Jeannette. Prior to retirement, he was employed by the McKeesport Daily Newspaper. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Jeannette, F&AM Lodge 750 of Jeannette, the Shrine and the Tall Cedars of Lebanon. Preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Kifer Henry; his second wife, Dolores A. Caldwell Henry; a daughter, Barbara Henry; a son, Robert L. Caldwell; three brothers , Daniel, Robert, and Edwin Henry; and three sisters , Margaret Thompson, Alice Kohl and Ruth Nelson. He is survived by a son, the Rev. Mark Henry and his wife, Karen, of Salisbury, Md.; a daughter, Joanne Painter and her husband, Jack, of Greensburg; a sister, Betty Detruf of New Jersey; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Jeannette, with the Rev. Theodore I. Bessey officiating. Interment will follow in Brush Creek Cemetery, Hempfield Township.
M. JENNIE MUDGE
M. Jennie Mudge, 91, of Latrobe, formerly of Schenectady, N.Y., died Monday, April 24, 2000, in Loyalhanna Care Center, Derry Township. Jennie moved to the area in 1984 to be close to her family. She was born Feb. 6, 1909, in Ravena, N.Y., a daughter of the late Fred R. and Saletta (Cornwell) Milbank. Prior to her retirement, Jennie was a postal worker in Schenectady and a keypunch operator for the New York State Department of Finance and Taxation. She was a member of the Latrobe United Methodist Church and a former member of and church organist for the Carman United Methodist Church near Schenectady. She also taught piano and organ, and had played for other churches in the Schenectady area including the Mont Pleasant Baptist Church. She was a member of the Latrobe Senior Citizens, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Carman V.F.D., a former member of the Annie Rebakuh Lodge in Schenectady, and was a volunteer at the Latrobe Area Hospital. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time at her vacation home in Florida. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lauren Clyde Mudge Sr. in 1978; an infant daughter, Marlene Joan Mudge; a sister, Winifred Roat; and a nephew, William Roat. She is survived by her son, Lauren C. Mudge Jr. and his wife, Charlotte, of Latrobe; her granddaughter, Erica Mudge; her brother, Walter C. Milbank of Clifton Park, N.Y.; and two nieces, Mary June and Lynn. Friends received at the HARTMAN-GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 1500 Ligonier St., Latrobe, Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in the Latrobe United Methodist Church with her pastor, the Rev. BETTY K. (SOVA) NEHLS
Betty K. (Sova) Nehls, 71, of Lemont Furnace, died Monday, April 24, 2000, at UPMC Presbyterian, Oakland. She was born Jan. 21, 1929, in Connellsville, a daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Stash) Sova. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Nehls Sr., on Aug. 4, 1995; three sisters , Margaret Risner, Anna Mabus and Dorothy Zittney; and a brother, Lawrence Sova. Mrs. Nehls was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Uniontown and an avid pet lover, who enjoyed her dogs, Sam, Sophie and Luther, very much. She is survived by two sons , Kenneth E. Nehls Jr. of Lemont Furnace and Timothy Nehls and wife, Jennifer, of Franklin Township; two brothers , Ted Sova and wife, Vickie, of Hopwood and Michael Sova of Cleveland, Ohio; a sister, Genevieve Herbert and husband, Dorsey, of Chardon, Ohio; and many special nieces and nephews. MARTINA C. SUTTLE NEHRIG
Martina C. Suttle Nehrig, 81, of Irwin, died Tuesday, April 25, 2000, in the Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born July 11, 1918, in Pittsfield, Mass., a daughter of the late William and Martina Haller Suttle, and Gertrude Suttle. She was a member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Irwin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Nehrig, in 1995. She is survived by two daughters , Diane Ramsey and her husband, Ronald, of North Irwin and Martina A. Funk and her husband, Walter, of Irwin; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters , Marion Loughner of Jeannette and Margaret Suttle of Connecticut; and a brother, William Suttle of Springfield, Mass. Also nieces and nephews. Friends received at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Immaculate Conception. GEORGE W. PIPER
George W. Piper, 73, of Delmont, died Tuesday, April 25, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born Aug. 2, 1926, in Salem Township, a son of the late Howard F. and Ada (Wagner) Piper. George was a retired salesman for Prudential Insurance Co. A U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II, he was a member of the Delmont VFW Post #481 and a member of the Salem Lutheran Church of Delmont. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Lou Piper; three brothers , Leroy, Elsmer and Walter Piper; and two sisters , Catherine Piper and Marion Kane. George is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Doris M. (Rauch) Piper; two daughters , Karen Brandt and husband, Grafton, of North Carolina and Kathy Milligan and husband, Bill, of Georgia; three brothers , Jesse Piper and wife, Margaret, of New Kensington, John Piper of Greensburg and Frank Piper and wife, Jane, of Delmont; and six grandchildren, Kevin and wife, Kiersta, Matthew, Ryan, Casey, Michael and Meghan. Also surviving are two sisters -in-law, Velma Piper of Delmont and Bertie Piper of Maryland; and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. Private interment will be in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. A memorial service for George will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Salem Lutheran Church, 301 E. IDA PARKER MILES RICHARDS
Ida Parker Miles Richards, the wife of the late Ambassador Arthur L. Richards, died Saturday, April 22, 2000, at Redstone Highlands Health Care Center, Greensburg. She was 89. Born Dec. 6, 1910, in Washington , D.C., Mrs. Richards attended George Washington University. She worked on Capital Hill as a legal secretary for a Supreme Court Justice and took law courses at night. In 1934, Mrs. Richards married Herbert Richardson Miles, a naval officer. They had two sons and Herbert Miles died in 1947. Mrs. Richards married Arthur Lincoln Richards, a foreign service officer in 1948. They traveled extensively, living in Iran, Turkey, Ethiopia, and Switzerland. During these assignments, Mrs. Richards acted as the official hostess for U.S. Embassy functions and hosted diplomats from foreign missions and notable dignitaries, including the Shah of Iran and Haile Selassie, the Emperor of Ethiopia. She had the opportunity to dine and dance with the U.S. presidents from Eisenhower through Reagan. An advocate of educational reforms and health reforms, Mrs. Richards promoted these programs in each country to which she was assigned ambassador and Mrs. Richards endured rebellions and revolutions during their foreign assignments and survived to return to Washington , D.C. Mrs. Richards was a member of the All Saints Episcopal Church in Chevy Chase, Md., and the Foreign Service Wives Association. In addition to her parents, John Ralph and Anne Murphy Parker, Mrs. Richards was preceded in death by her first husband, Herbert Miles; her sister, Lily Leigh; and her second husband, Arthur L. Richards. She is survived by a daughter, Sarah Richards Nurminen of Acme; and two sons , Herbert Miles Richards of Laurel, Md., and John Miles Richards of Springfield, Va. She leaves four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the LUTHER J. GRIMM FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Pleasant. A memorial service will be held at the Mt. Pleasant Church of God at 2 p.m. Friday, April 28, with Pastor Charles W. Yost officiating. Interment will be at the Rock Creek Cemetery, Washington , D.C. DOROTHY M. SMITH
Dorothy M. Smith, 81, of Greensburg, died Monday, April 24, 2000. She was born March 18, 1919, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Robert H. Jr. and Mildred Rohrbacher Maxwell. She was a member of F.O.E. Scottdale Ladies Auxiliary and a volunteer for the Food Share Program. Survived by daughters , Mildred A. Arnold of San Diego, Calif., and Alice DeBoo of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; sisters , Margaret Zink of Youngwood, Alice Trout of Hunker, and Mrs. Steve (Ruth) Karas of Youngwood; and brothers , John S. Maxwell and wife, Thelma, of Youngwood and Clifford P. Maxwell and wife, Virginia, of Wellsburg, W.Va. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Charles Smith; and a brother, Robert H. Maxwell Jr. No visitation. A funeral service will be held at the C. JAMES G. WILSON
James G. Wilson, 84, of Saltsburg, died Tuesday, April 25, 2000, at Indiana Area Hospital, Indiana, Pa. He was born June 18, 1915, in Saltsburg, a son of Robert M. and Alice C. Grant Wilson. He had lived in Saltsburg all of his life. He retired in 1980 from the University of Pittsburgh as a project supervisor and construction supervisor; and was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army 602 AAA Battalion. His life was one of love and service to his family, community and God. Also he was a member of Saltsburg Presbyterian Church in Saltsburg for over 63 years and an elder of the church; a member of the Saltsburg Town Council; Williamson Lodge F&AM #431, Saltsburg; Saltsburg Lion's Club; life member of Saltsburg Fire Department; and a member of the Carpenter's Union Local 0462 in Greensburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Herbert Wilson. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Grace Wilson; three sons , Charles B. McKee of Fort Collins, Colo., Jere L. McKee of Daytona Beach, Fla., and James L. Wilson of Lewes, Del.; a brother, Robert H. Wilson of Greensburg; a sister, Mrs. Edward (Betty) Franklin of Long Beach, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Alex G. "GiGi" "Cheeko" Bogochenko Jr., 50, of Bridgeport, Ohio, formerly of Scenery Hill, Pa., died Thursday, April 27, 2000, at 1:30 a.m., in Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, W.Va. Born July 2, 1949, in Washington , Pa., he was a son of the late Alex G. Sr. and Mary Ellen Bell Bogochenko. Formerly employed by Jessop Steel and as a self-employed truck driver, he presently worked for B&T Express. Surviving are his wife, Flo Miklas Bogochenko; two sons , David Hartzell of Scenery Hill and George "Peep" Bogochenko of Cokeburg; two daughters , Lisa Hartzell and Mary Ellen Bogochenko-Main, both of Eighty Four, Pa.; two sisters , Sharon Mazutis of Marianna and Nancy Fonner of Martins Ferry, Ohio; a brother, Thomas Bogochenko of Bentleyville; and 17 grandchildren. He is also survived by two stepsons, Robert L. Miklas of Martins Ferry, Ohio, and Matthew Miklas of Wheeling, W.Va.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. OLGA DiGENOVA (ROSSI) CAPUANO
Olga DiGenova (Rossi) Capuano, 91, of Rostraver Township, formerly of Monessen, died Wednesday, April 26, 2000, in the Washington Hospital, Washington , Pa., following a brief illness. She was born Nov. 14, 1908, in Bruckhausen, Germany, a daughter of the late Vincent and Elisa (Tiberi) DiGenova. Mrs. Capuano was a resident of Monessen since she was four years old and a 1926 graduate of Monessen High School. She was employed as a clerk for the water company and also worked as a teller in the First National Bank in Monessen, prior to getting married. She was a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church of Monessen. She was also a member of the sons of Italy and the Italian Mutual Aid Society, where she served as president, vice president, corresponding secretary, and trustee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John Capuano, who died April 6, 1992; her aunt and uncle who raised her, Vincent and Manina (Tiberi) Rossi; and by three brothers and two sisters . She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Elise and Franklin Silko of Rostraver Township; five grandchildren and their spouses, Dr. Gary and Teresa Silko of Erie, Lisa and Ronald Spang of Belle Vernon, David and Maureen Silko of Lewisville, Texas , Alan and Beth Silko of McDonald, Pa., and Mark and Erika Silko of Dover, Pa. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Antonio Capuano of Milan, Italy; a sister-in-law, Marie Capuano of Monessen; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 441 Reed Ave., Monessen. A blessing will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass in the Epiphany of Our Lord R.C. Church. Interment will follow in the Grandview Cemetery, Monessen.
DOMINICK A. DiSTEFANO
Dominick A. "Socko" DiStefano passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2000, at West Hills Hospital in West Hills, Calif. Socko's death was due to an aortic aneurysm. Socko was born Dec. 3, 1911, in Greensburg. He worked for Walworth Valve Co. for 42 years before relocating to southern California in 1977. He is survived by his wife, Hazel; his daughter, Mrs. Shirley Wertz and husband, Joe, who live in Greensburg; and his son, James, who resides in Burbank, Calif. Dominick has five grandchildren, Joe, Mark and Doug Wertz of Greensburg, James DiStefano of Woodstock, Ga., and Mrs. Sheree Brown of Woodstock, Ga. He has five great-grandchildren, Joanna and Christopher Wertz and Hannah, Abby and Chelsea Brown. Graveside services were held on April 22 at San Fernando Mission Catholic Cemetery in Mission Hills, Calif.

Harry E. "Butch" Heller Jr., 57, of North Versailles, died Friday, April 21, 2000. He is survived by a sister, Carol I. Trappen of Greenock; a brother, Edward J. Heller of North Huntingdon; also nieces and nephews.
