Strunk, Malcolm Eugene "Moe"

Malcolm Eugene "Moe" Strunk, 71, of Park Drive, Palmyra, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, died Wednesday, at the Hershey Medical Center.
Born March 22, 1929, in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Russell and Jean G. (Merical) Strunk. He was a retired director of store operations for 45 years for the Acme Markets, Forty Fort. He began working for Acme at the age of 14 and became a manager at age 20. He primarily worked in the Pine Grove office. He was a graduate of Kingston High School, Kingston, a member of the First United Methodist Church, Palmyra; where he was past president of the Board of Trustees. He was a member of the Irem Temple, AAONMS, Wilkes-Barre. Surviving are his wife, Eris Louise (Bonham) Strunk, Palmyra; daughter, Cinda L., wife of Michael Gilmore, Auburn, N.Y.; son, Curtis E., Palmyra; grandson, William, Auburn, N.Y.; granddaughters, Elizabeth and Jessica Gilmore, both of Auburn, N.Y.; Megan and Melissa Strunk, both of Palmyra.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Allan Strunk.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church, 520 E. Birch St., Palmyra, with the Rev. William H. Garrett, of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Rothermel Funeral Home, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra; and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church. AMANDA STRUZZERI

Amanda Rose Struzzeri, 19, of Mill Street in Pittston, died Saturday as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Hackettstown, N.J.
Born Sept. 21, 1979, in Carbondale, she was the daughter of Michael and Virginia (Ochrietor) Struzzeri of Pittston.
She graduated from Pittston High School in 1998.
She was employed for the J.C. Penney Catalog telemarketing in Moosic.
She was a member of St. Casimir's Church, Pittston.
Surviving, in addition to her parents, are a brother, James Roxby, at home; a nephew, aunts, uncles, great-aunts and uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday from the Kizis-Lokuta Funeral Home, 134 Church St., Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Casimir's Church, Pittston.
Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

STUBBLEBINE, EDWARD

Edward "Ed" Stubblebine, 62, of Indian Rocks Beach, Fla., died Tuesday at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Fla.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of Eleaner (Oswald) Stubblebine, of Wilkes-Barre, and the late William B. Stubblebine.
He moved from San Antonio to Indian Rocks Beach in 1988.
He was employed as director of sales for Pabst Brewery.
Surviving, in addition to his mother , are his wife of 29 years, Peggy Stubblebine; stepson, Jack McAleer, Berwyn; sister, Carole Peterson, Hilton Head, S.C.; and two grandsons.

Dorothy Stuka

Dorothy A. Stuka of Sidney Street, Swoyersville, died Wednesday at home.
A life resident of Swoyersville, she was daughter of the late John and Pauline Vojtko Lupinsky Sr.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Swoyersville, and its Christian Mothers Association.
She attended Swoyersville schools.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 644, Swoyersville; the Keystone Chapter POWs Disabled Veterans Auxiliary; the Silver and Gold Club, Plymouth.
She was preceded in death by her brother, John Lupinsky Jr.
Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Andrew S., at home; a son, Dr. Andrew J., Exeter; daughters , Dorothy Ziegler, Swoyersville; Diane Halliday, Dallas; Andrea Krupinski, Swoyersville; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday from the Joseph L. Wroblewski Funeral Home, 1442 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Swoyersville.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Members of the Holy Trinity Christian Mothers will meet at 7 p.m. today to recite the Rosary and attend the funeral in a group.

SUDA, GERALDINE

Geraldine (Young) Suda, of Parkview Circle, Wilkes-Barre, died Sunday at the Hospice Community Care, Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born June 23, 1923, in Plymouth, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Emma (Woods) Young.
She was a member of St. Clement/St. Peter Episcopal Church, Wilkes-Barre, and active in various parish activities.
She was employed by various clothing manufacturers throughout the valley and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.
She served as a volunteer at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald J. Sr.; son, Gerald J. Jr.; brothers , Charles, William and Richard Young; and sister, Emma Bush.
Surviving are her sister, Nellie Young, Wilkes-Barre; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday from the Williams Funeral Home, 114 W. Main St., Plymouth, with a Requiem Eucharist at St. Clement/St. Peter Episcopal Church, Hanover Street, Wilkes-Barre, with Father Jerry Doublisky officiating.
Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas.

Catherine Sulitka, of Trenliegh Road in Baltimore, Md., formerly of Avoca, died Monday at her home after an illness.
Born in Avoca, she was the daughter of the late George and Victoria Lockett.
She was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Church in Avoca.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph.
Surviving are her daughters , Marie Leonard, with whom she resided; Carol Gibson, Bel Air, Md.; and Patricia Welch, Bowie, Md.; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday from the Ruane & Regan Funeral Home, 1308 Grove St., Avoca, with a Mass of Christian Burial at Saints Peter & Paul Church, with the Rev. Mark Bochinski officiating.
Interment will be in the parish cemetery in Moosic.

Brian Sullivan, 31, of West Main Street, Nanticoke, died Thursday in an automobile accident on U.S. Route 11 in Hunlock Creek.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of Donald and Joan Meshinski Sullivan.
He was employed at the Strick Corp., Berwick.
Surviving, in addition to his parent, are his wife, the former Diane Skoniecki; sons , Alex and Nicholas, at home; a sister, Denise, Nanticoke; and his maternal grandmother, Helen Meshinski, Newport Township.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday from the Earl W. Lohman Funeral Home, 14 W. Green St., Nanticoke, with the Rev. Walter Lauver officiating.

Helen S. Sunder, of Oak Street in the Hanover section of Nanticoke died Tuesday at Mercy Hospital in Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Hanover Township, she was a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Homick) Fromel.
She had been employed in the local garment industry and at Acme Markets.
She was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Church in the Hanover section of Nanticoke, and United Food and Commercial Workers Local 72.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; and sister, Dorothy Englot.
Surviving are her daughters , Susan Brocious, Plymouth; and Jacqueline Demko, Mountaintop; son, Paul, at home; four granddaughters; brothers , John, Mountaintop; and James, Copiague, N.Y.; and sister, Arlene Meehan, Flushing, N.Y.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday from the Earl W. Lohman Funeral Home, 14 W. Green St., Nanticoke, with Liturgy at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Byzantine Church. Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery in the Glen Lyon section of Newport Township.

Mary (Kopcho) Sunder, of Oak Street, Hanover section of Nanticoke, died Sunday at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born Aug. 14, 1908, in Alden, Newport Township, she was a daughter of the late Wasil and Anna (Kachurek) Kopcho. She attended Askam School, Hanover Township, and lived in Nanticoke most of her life. She was a head cook at weddings and social events in her younger years, and assisted in the startup of pierogi making at Nardozzo's Pizzeria. She was a former member of the Altar & Rosary Society of St. Mary's Byzantine Rite Catholic Church, Nanticoke.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael; daughter, Katherine (Sunder) Wengen; brother, John; and sister, Helen Lopatto.
Surviving are her daughter, Mary Ann Sunder, with whom she resided; one grandchild; sisters , Ann Warren, Hanover Township; Jean Cooper, Wapwallopen, Conyngham Township; Susan Luzenski, Wilkes-Barre; and Margaret Koflanovich, Wanamie, Conyngham Township; nine godchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday from the George A. Strish, Inc., Funeral Home, Glen Lyon, Newport Township, with Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Byzantine Rite Catholic Church. Justyna "Josie" Supulski, of Hamilton Avenue, West Wyoming, formerly of Kingston, died Thursday at the Dorrance Manor, Kingston.
Born in Edwardsville, she was a daughter of the late Philip and Sophia (Luzetski) Evanitski. She was a graduate of Edwardsville High School. She was a seamstress in the local garment industry and worked at Konefal's Restaurant, Edwardsville. She was a member of St. Mary's Annunciation Church, Kingston.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John J.; brother, Frank Evanitski; and sisters , Rosa Berkowski, Julia Pistun and Mary Tomashefski.
Surviving are her daughter, Dr. Johnyne Elechko, Goffstown, N.H.; son, Joseph J., West Wyoming; four grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
