Catherine "Gram" (Jones) Shovlin, of Carey Avenue in Wilkes-Barre, died Sunday at her home.
Born March 2, 1924, in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Blodwen (Kinsey) Jones.
She was preceded in death by her son, Frank Jr.; brothers , William, Robert and Donald Jones; and daughter, Emma Albertson.
Surviving are her husband, Frank; son, Robert, at home; daughters , Blodwen Condusta and Frances McArdle, both of Wilkes-Barre; brother, Samuel Jones, Matawan, N.J.; sister, Sarah Williams, Wilkes-Barre; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday from the Frederick & Snowdon Funeral Home, 617 Carey Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. Bette J. Poe, Pastor of the Firwood United Methodist Church, Wilkes-Barre, officiating.
Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Carverton, Kingston Township.

SHUELLA, THOMAS
October 31, 1999
Thomas Andrew Shuella, 66, of Wilkes-Barre, died Sunday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born Sept. 13, 1933, in West Wyoming, he was the son of the late Rudolph and Julia (Zemancik) Shuella.
He graduated from West Wyoming High School and served in the U.S. Army.
He worked for Western Union for more than 15 years in Washington , D.C., and Nelson Manufacturing.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Church.
He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Andrew Bechtel; and sister, Ruth Olejnik.
Surviving are his former wife, Jeanne Hann (Shuella); son, Joseph Shuella, Wilkes-Barre; daughter, Annette Skameritz, Tunkhannock; sisters , Dorothy Zapusek, Edwardsville; and Eileen Patoskie, Bethlehem.
Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday from Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 465 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. James Leukulich officiating.
Interment will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Chapel Lawn Cemetery. There will be no procession from the funeral home.
Friends may call from 7 p.m. until the time of services Tuesday.
SHULTZ, HELEN
November 5, 1999
Helen Frances Shultz, 79, of Laporte, died Friday at The Highlands in Laporte, after being admitted on Thursday.
Born Oct. 31, 1920, in Sonestown, she was a daughter of the late Emerson and Dotha (Mahaffey) Houseknecht.
She was a 1940 graduate of Davidson Township High School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Duane G. Shultz, whom she married Oct. 13, 1943;
She was a member of the Laporte United Methodist Church and the church Women's Guild.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Anita Moyer.
Surviving are her sons , Terry L., David G., Charles E. and Jeff H., all of Laporte; daughters , Barbara A. Guzy, Hummelstown; Patsy Houghtaling, Virginia Beach, Va.; Cindy D. Schumacher, Mount Pocono; and Tracy M. Shultz, Picture Rocks & Laporte; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Carl, Laporte; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, with the Rev. Robert W. Brown officiating. Interment will be in the Mountain Ash Cemetery in Laporte.

Edmund F. Shupshinskas, of Cook Street, Ashley, died Sunday at the Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.

SIECKO, PAUL
August 15, 1999
Paul Siecko, Jr., 68, of Mt. Hope, N.J., died Sunday at St. Clare's Hospital, Dover, N.J., after a heart attack.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Nellie (Stern) and Paul Siecko. He resided in Wilkes-Barre until 1953, when he moved to New Jersey.
He was an operating engineer for Local 15C, New York, and was employed by LB Smith Terex Equipment, Paterson, N.J., for 29 years. Before his retirement in 1997, he was employed by Mt. Hope Rock Products for 12 years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the
Korean War and a member of the American Legion Post 91, Wharton, N.J. He was a member of St. Bernard's Church, Mt. Hope, and the Rockaway Twp. Senior Citizens.
Surviving are his wife, the former Margaret McLaughlin; son, Paul, Ledgewood, N.J.; daughters Diane Brennan, Hopatcong, N.J., and Marie Brennan, Mt. Olive Twp., N.J.; five grandchildren; brothers John, Meshanic Station, N.J.; and Joseph, Berwick; and sister, Florence Mahalick, Wilkes-Barre.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday from the Bermingham Funeral Home, 249 S. Main Street, Wharton, N.J., with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernard's Church, Mt. Hope, N.J. Interment will be in Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover, N.J.

NELLIE SIECKO
Nellie Siecko, 89, of Spruce Street, Wilkes-Barre Township, died Saturday at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Florence and Michael Mahalick, Wilkes-Barre Township.
Born Feb. 2, 1909, in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late John and Catherine Stem.
She was formerly employed at the Pennsylvania Wholesale Drug Company, Wilkes-Barre.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre Township, and its Altar and Rosary Society.
She was an avid crocheter and baker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Siecko, in 1984; daughters , Marie and Maureen Siecko; brother, Demetrius Stem; sisters , Mary, Roseann and Catherine Stem; Anna Krivenko and Sophia Dybach.
Surviving are her daughter, Florence Siecko Mahalick, Wilkes-Barre Township, with whom she resided; sons , Paul Siecko, Dover, N.J.; John Siecko, Neshanic Station, N.J.; Joseph Siecko, Berwick; sister, Helen Siecko, Wilkes-Barre Township; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, Park Avenue and South Street, Wilkes-Barre, with Divine Liturgy at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Dallas.

Paul H. Siegfried, 77, of Birch Street in Wilkes-Barre, died Tuesday at Penn State Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township.

SIKORA, BEVERLY

Beverly J. (Ross) Sikora, 63, of the Fox Run section of Reading died Monday at her home.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Florence (Keener) Ross. She graduated from Hanover Area High School. She resided in Reading since 1989. She previously resided in Pottstown, and earlier in Brooklyn, N.Y.
She was employed as a national sales correspondent by the Yuasa Exide Battery Co. in Reading. Earlier, she was employed by Gallery Bridle Shop in West Reading.
She was a member of the First Church of the Brethren in Pottstown.
Surviving are her son, Duane A. Sikora, Reading; former husband, Edward Sikora, Larksville; brother, Harold Ross, Miles, Va.; one grandson; one stepgrandson; and two stepgranddaughters.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday from the Hugh B. Hughes & Son, Inc., Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, with the Rev. Stephen Hess officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Kingston Township.

CHARLES SIMMONS

Charles A. Simmons, 74, of Nafus Street in Pittston died Thursday at his home.
Born Oct. 10, 1924, in Exeter, he was a son of the late John and Mary (Prosdinnis) Simmons. He attended Exeter schools.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theatre.
Before retiring, he was employed in the maintenance department of David Ertley Motors in Wilkes-Barre.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Pittston.
He was preceded in death by his brothers , Albert, Edward and John, and sister, Dolores Madigan.
Surviving are his wife, the former Marie Walsh; son, Charles T., Springfield, Mass.; daughter, Mary Jo White , Hughestown; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters , Rose Mary Parulis, Exeter, and Eleanor Wallace, Harding, Exeter Township; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Monday from the Kizis-Lokuta Funeral Home, 134 Church St., Pittston, with a funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church.

SIMONITIS, BRAD

Brad Albert Simonitis, 23, died Tuesday at his home in West Pittston.
Born Nov. 8, 1975, in Kingston, he was the son of William Simonitis, of Forty Fort, and Lois M. Nelson Simonitis Phillips, of Wilkes-Barre.
He lived in Wilkes-Barre before moving to West Pittston one year ago.
He attended Coughlin High School in Wilkes-Barre and was later awarded a GED.
He was employed at Music-Go-Round at East End Center in Wilkes-Barre.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Edward Nelson; and paternal grandparents, Sylvester and Anna Simonitis.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his maternal grandmother, Lois Nelson, Wilkes-Barre; stepmother, Dolores Simonitis, Forty Fort; stepfather, Michael Phillips, Wilkes-Barre; stepbrothers, Keith Dickson, Duryea; and Mark Dickson, Lancaster; two nephews, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday from the Joseph L. Wroblewski Funeral Home, 1442 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Boniface Church in Wilkes-Barre. The Rev. Timothy Delaney will officiate.
Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in the Carverton section of Kingston Township.
