Schmaltz, Elizabeth

Elizabeth "Betty" Schmaltz, 78, of Elizabeth Street, South Wilkes-Barre, died Saturday at her home, following a lengthy illness.
A native of White Haven, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Mayme Meicht Wheeler.
She moved to Wilkes-Barre in the early 1940s and was the bookkeeper for Coldwell Banker Howell & Jones Realtors for 52 years.
She was an active member of the Chancel Choir, Lutheran Church Women and director of the children's music program.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Schmaltz.
Surviving are her daughters , Beth Bowlby, Bound Brook, N.J.; and Leslie Hansen, Warren, N.J.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the Matthew T. Jacobs Funeral Home, Inc., 47 Old River Road, Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. Virginia Biniek, of St. John's Lutheran Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, White Haven.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
NELLIE SCHMIDT
Nellie (Jeyschune) Schmidt, 79, of Apollo Apartments in Pittston died Thursday at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Born March 27, 1919, in Exeter, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Mary Ann (Suchodolski) Jeyschune.
She attended Exeter schools and lived most of her life in Pittston.
She was employed for many years at EmKay Manufacturing in West Wyoming. Before retiring, she worked in the maintenance department of Pittston Area Middle School.
She was a member of St. Casimir's Church in Pittston, and the parish Altar & Rosary Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; sisters , Frances Rudzavich, Helen Butler and Anne Tuthill; and brother, Alex.
Surviving are her son, Joseph, Duryea; three granddaughters; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday from the Kizis-Lokuta Funeral Home, 134 Church St., Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Casimir's Church.
Interment will be in the parish cemetery in Pittston.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Schoch, Emma
March 8, 2000
Emma Schoch, of Centre Street, Freeland, died Wednesday at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
Born in Freeland, she was a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Schell) Beam. She worked in the food service department of the White Haven Center and was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Freeland.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Beam; sister, Dorothy Ashburn; and grandson, Robert McAfee, Jr.
Surviving are her sons , Calvin Schoch, Mountaintop; and David Schoch, White Haven; a daughter, Alice McAfee, Penn Lake; brothers , George, Florida; Robert, Brodheadsville; Ronald and Gordon, both of Freeland; sister; Minnie Bond, White Haven; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the McHugh-Wilczek Funeral Home, 249 Centre St., Freeland. The Rev. Manuel R. Stivers, Jr. will officiate. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
Friends may call from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
CAROL SCHOENBERG
Carol Schoenberg, 54, of Beach Haven, N.J., died Thursday.
Born in Kingston, she was a daughter of Robert Anderson, of the Trucksville Gardens section of Kingston Township, and the late Eleanor Holbrook Carey Anderson.
She grew up in Trucksville Gardens and was a 1962 graduate of Dallas High School.
She was a longtime winter resident of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
She and her husband, Herbert A. Schoenberg Jr., were the former owners and operators of Schoenberg's Hi-n-Dri Boatel in Beach Haven.
She worked for Bell Telephone Co. for six years and also managed restaurants in Beach Haven and Florida.
An avid runner, she participated in the New York City Marathon and many benefit runs to support various charities. She was the recipient of numerous awards, plaques and certificates over the years.
Surviving, in addition to her Father and her husband of 30 years, are her brother, Robert Anderson, of Purcellville, Va.; sisters , Deborah Massimiano and Kathleen Roma, both of Manahawkin, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Thomas L. Price Funeral Home, 553 Northlake Blvd., North Palm Beach, Fla.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. until the time of services Saturday.
Memorial services will also be conducted at a later date in Beach Haven, N.J.

Benjamin Schreiber

Benjamin Schreiber, 86, of Susquehanna Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Tuesday at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, where he was a patient for several weeks.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Abe and Helen Laux Schreiber.
He attended GAR High School, Wilkes-Barre.
He was a clothing salesman most of his life and, before he retired, he was employed by the Boston Store, Wilkes-Barre, for more than 30 years.
He was a member of the Puritan Congregational Church, Wilkes-Barre.
He and his wife, the former Elizabeth "Betsy" Coil, celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary last year.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sisters , Ethel Trimas, Wilkes-Barre; Gertrude Weisman, New York; a brother, Morris Schreiber, Wilkes-Barre; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday from the H. Merritt Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 451 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. Kenneth H. George, pastor of the Puritan Congregational Church, Wilkes-Barre, officiating.
Interment will be in Mount Greenwood Cemetery, Trucksville.

Schultz, Bolish

Bolish "Rocky" Schultz, 88, of West Main Street, Wanamie section of Newport Township, died Wednesday at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born Dec. 28, 1911, in Nanticoke, he was a son of the late Jacob and Mary (Borofski) Schultz. He attended Nanticoke public schools and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific Theater. He was a postal clerk for many years at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, N.J. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Church and American Legion Post 350, both in Nanticoke.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Hedwig Lepkowski; second wife, the former Florise McGuire; eight sisters and seven brothers .
Surviving are nieces and nephews.
military funeral services will be conducted by American Legion Post 350 at 10:30 a.m. Saturday from the Stanley S. Stegura Funeral Home, 614 S. Hanover St., Nanticoke. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Church. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Newport Township. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

Ruth F. Scott, of Plymouth Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, died Monday in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, Nov. 14, 1904, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Lena Roberts.
She attended Wilkes-Barre city schools.
She was a member of Central United Methodist Church, Wilkes-Barre.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; son, Daniel; brother, Daniel; sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Everette.
Surviving are her son, John, De Land, Fla.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be at noon Thursday from Mamary-Durkin Funeral Service, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre.
Interment will be in the Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Carverton, Franklin Township.

SEELEY, ROSE
October 2, 1999
Rose (Rolavage) Seeley, of Pulaski Street in Wilkes-Barre, died Saturday at the Heritage House in Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Plymouth, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes Krinicki Rolavage.
Before retiring she was employed by Little Flower Manor.
Surviving are her husband, Walter J. Seeley; children, James, Shavertown; Deborah Okraszewski, Wilkes-Barre; Patricia Pilch, Warrior Run; Donna Pilch, Wilkes-Barre; Ruth Ann Senkus, Plymouth; brother, Joseph Rolavage, Florida; sisters , Geraldine Williamson, Dolores Burgess, Katherine Clower and Carol Nealson, all of New Jersey; Evelyn Rider, California; Connie Mask, Arkansas; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family the Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 22 Prospect St., Nanticoke.
Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Hanover Township.
There will be no calling hours.
SEILHAMER, KENNETH

Kenneth E. Seilhamer, 88, of Union Street in Exeter, died Tuesday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late John and Ruth (Klee) Seilhamer.
He was a graduate of Patton Trade School in Elizabethtown, and attended Ohio State University and Miami of Ohio College.
He resided in Exeter for the past 20 years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater.
He was employed for many years by McCrory Corp., and in 1968 became the manager of the McCrory's Store at the Midway Shopping Center in Wyoming, where he worked until his retirement.
He was a member of Masonic Oriental Lodge 500 F&AM, and Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite NMJ, in Indianapolis, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Max.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, the former Ann Tish; daughter, Patricia McCarthy, Exeter; three grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Walker, Lewisburg; brothers , John, Columbus, Ohio; and Ray, Xenia, Ohio; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday from the Metcalfe & Shaver Funeral Home, Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming with the Rev. Murray Thompson, of the Second Presbyterian Church in Pittston, officiating.
Interment will be in Mountain View Burial Park in Exeter Township.
Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services Friday.
