Julia A. (Marianelli) Picchi, 95, of Old Forge, died Saturday at her home.
Born in Old Forge, she was a daughter of the late David and Elizabeth (Cianchetti) Marianelli.
She attended Old Forge public schools.
Before her retirement, she worked at the Rhonda Dress Co., Old Forge.
She was a member of St. Mary's of the Assumption Church, Old Forge, and its Altar and Rosary Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benedetto; brothers , Dancredo, Silvio and Constantino; and sisters , Margaret Pescetelli and Angeline LoPrete.
Surviving are her sons , Carlo, Philadelphia; and David, Wilmington, Del.; daughters , Maria Picchi, with whom she resided; Jean Cammarota and Betty Riviello, both of Old Forge; and Marguerite Evans, Endwell, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday from the Louis V. Ciuccio Funeral Home, 145 Moosic Road, Old Forge, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's of the Assumption Church.
Interment will be in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's School Fund, Old Forge, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
Alice Pilarek
April 17, 1998
Alice Pilarek, of Schroeder Terrace, Hanover, N.J., died Friday at home.
Born in Nanticoke, she was daughter of the late Pascal and Gertrude Griffith Morgan.
She graduated from Nanticoke High School and the Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing, Newark, N.J.
For the past 35 years, she was employed as a registered nurse in New Jersey.
Surviving are her husband, Anthony Pilarek; son, Anthony, Pittsburgh; and daughter, Jane Schuler, Hanover, N.J.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
The Rev. Stephen Pinchak

The Rev. Stephen Pinchak OFM, 66, of Mount Macrina Manor, Uniontown, formerly of the Holy Dormition Monastery, Sybertsville, died Wednesday at the Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown.
Born in Auburn, N.Y., he was the son of the late Stephen and Fannie Solomon Pinchak.
He was baptized in SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Auburn, as William Pinchak, taking the name of Stephen for religious life.
He attended Auburn schools, entered St. Joseph Seminary, Callicoon, N.Y., and St. Mary's Seminary, Norwalk, Conn., for his theology studies.
His entrance to religious life began with his reception on Aug. 12, 1953, at St. Bonaventure, Paterson, N.J., his first profession on Aug. 13, 1954, at St. Bonaventure and his solemn profession on Sept. 7, 1957, at Holy Protection in New Cannan, Conn. He was ordained a priest on June 7, 1959. He studied in Rome, Italy, at the Oriental Institute from 1960 to 1965.
He served at New Canaan, Conn., and Holy Dormition Monastery, Sybertsville where he presided as guardian from 1984 to 1989.
He taught at Byzantine High School in Parma, Ohio. He was the chaplain at St. Basil at Fox Chase and was chaplain for Sister Servant at Chestnut Hill.
He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters .
Surviving are sisters , Helen Pinchak, Julia Lynch and Anna Kohler, all of Auburn, N.Y.; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday from the Holy Dormition Monastery, Sybertsville, with a Divine Liturgy with Office of Christian Burial.
Interment will be in Holy Dormition Monastery Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Holy Dormition Monastery Chapel. Parastas services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday.
PISANO, RICHARD

Richard Joseph Pisano, 60, of Northview Road in Hughestown, died Wednesday at Mercy Hospital in Wilkes-Barre.
Born Oct. 23, 1939, in Pittston, he was a son of the late Anthony and Antoinette (Serino) Pisano.
He was a 1957 graduate of Pittston Township High School and was a lifelong resident of the Greater Pittston area.
He worked for Prestige Shoe Co. in Wilkes-Barre.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Pittston.
Surviving are his wife, Rosalie Mogavero Pisano; son, Anthony, Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughters , Michele Pisano Marsh, Emmaus; Ann Marie Pisano Chuss, Chicago; three grandsons; brother, Anthony, Pittston Township; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today from the Graziano Funeral Home, Inc., 700 Township Blvd., Pittston Township, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church.
Entombment will be in Denison Cemetery Community Mausoleum in Swoyersville.

HELEN PISH
April 23, 1999
Helen Pish, 85, formerly of Newport Township, died Friday at Davis Manor Nursing Home in Mountaintop.
Born in Wanamie, Newport Township, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Bozik Shershen.
She resided in Newport Township for several years. She later moved to the Park Avenue Apartments in Wilkes-Barre, where she resided for 17 years, before moving to her last address.
She was a member of St. Michael's Church in Newport Township.
She was employed by the Leslie Faye Dress Factory in Glen Lyon for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Zigmund; brothers , Leo, Joseph and Frank Shershen; sisters , Blanche Shemanski, Evelyn Gorgas, Anna Raiewski and Agnes Gembusia.
Surviving are her son, Edmund Pish, Loyalville; daughter, Janice Pish, Mountaintop; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Monday from the Grontkowski Funeral Home, P.C., 51-53 W. Green St., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Michael's Church.
Interment will be in the parish cemetery in Newport Township.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today. The Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.

PISHNICK, AMELIA

Amelia "Milla" Pishnick, 81, of Arch Street in the Glen Lyon section of Newport Township died Thursday at Mercy Hospital in Wilkes-Barre.
Born July 25, 1917, in Glen Lyon, she was a daughter of the late Helen Lelenk and Lucas Pishnick.
She attended Newport Township schools and was a lifelong resident of Glen Lyon.
She was a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Church on East Main Street in Glen Lyon. She was a lifelong member of the church choir, serving with the cantor for 15 years under Monsignor Bohdan Olesh. She was also a member of the Ukrainian CAtholic League in Glen Lyon for many years.
She was preceded in death by her sisters , Anna Evan and Mary Pishnick; and brothers , John and Michael.
Surviving are her sister, Julia Pelava, Kenmore, N.J.; brother, Theodore, with whom she resided; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday from the George A. Strish Inc. Funeral Home, 211 W. Main St., Glen Lyon, with Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. in St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery in Glen Lyon.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Paul Guthrie will conduct Parastas services at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

PITCAVAGE, CATHERINE

Catherine Pitcavage, of Denison Street in Swoyersville, died Tuesday at her home.
Born in Sharpsville, and raised in Tichy-Potok, Slovakia, she was the daughter of the late John and Martha Rejnic Lukesh. She attended Swoyersville schools and resided in Swoyersville for the last 71 years.
She was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Swoyersville and the National Slovak Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; sisters , Mary Smith and Anna Jakubczyk.
Surviving are her brother, Stephen, Forty Fort; sisters , Helen Zaterick, Swoyersville; Martha Sekercak, Reading; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday from the Joseph L. Wroblewski Funeral Home, 1442 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, with Divine Liturgy at 10:30 a.m. in St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Dallas.

Leocadia Plodwick

Leocadia "Lillian" Plodwick, 79, of River Street, Nanticoke, died Thursday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital following a brief illness.
A lifelong resident of Nanticoke, she was daughter of the late John and Stella Walawsk Robaczewski.
She was member of St. Mary's Church, Nanticoke.
She attended Nanticoke schools and was a graduate of Empire Beauty School.
She was self-employed as a beautician.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis J., in 1992.
Surviving are sons , Conrad Plodwick, Mountaintop; David Plodwick, Seattle; a daughter, Claudette George, Lake Carey, Lemon Township; five granddaughters.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday from the Grontkowski Funeral Home P.C., 51-53 W. Green St., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, Nanticoke.
Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Nanticoke.
