August E. "Augie" Pascoe of Woodbury Street, Hanover Township, died Thursday at the New Jersey Medical Center.
Born Jan. 23, 1939, in Kingston, he was the son of the late August and Anna Kleman Pascoe.
He was a 1958 graduate of the former Plymouth High School.
He was employed by Shanahan's Express in Pittston.
He was a former member of the 109th Field Artillery, Pennsylvania National Guard.
He was a member and elder of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Lee Park, Hanover Township.
He was past president for 24 years of the AAL Branch 1738. He was also a member of the Teamsters Local 401, Wilkes-Barre.
He and his wife, the former Shirley A. Sonnenberg, celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary on Nov. 16.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Heidi Ann, Las Vegas, Nev.; a brother, Richard A., Plymouth; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 1000 S. Main St., Lee Park, with the Rev. Gerald Grimm officiating.
Private Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Williams Funeral Home, 114 W. Main St., Plymouth, and from 10:30 a.m. to the time of the service at the church on Monday.
Pashinski, Edward

Edward M. Pashinski, 63, of Shoemaker Street in West Wyoming, died Sunday at Virginia Beach Hospital in Virginia.
Born Dec. 26, 1936, in Plymouth, he was a son of the late Charles E. and Verna (Duchinski) Pashinski. He was a 1954 graduate of Plymouth High School.
He resided in the Back Mountain for several years and later moved to West Wyoming, where he lived for about 10 years.
Before his retirement, he had been the supervising air traffic control specialist in the Air Traffic Division at Regional Headquarters at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York City.
He previously was employed as a procedure specialist and air traffic controller, working in the field for more than 30 years. He also had worked at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport and the Harrisburg Airport for many years.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of St. Mary's - St. Stephen's Parish Community of Plymouth.
He was preceded in death by a son, Edward L.; and an infant brother, Alfred.
Surviving are his children, Pamela A. Bevilaqua, Forty Fort; Thomas J., Plymouth; and John, U.S. Navy, Norfolk, Va.; five grandchildren; siblings, Charles M., Wilkes-Barre; Geraldine Lesperance, Fla.; and Robert J., Plymouth Township; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Friday from the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St., Plymouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Mary's Nativity Church in Plymouth. Interment will be in the parish cemetery in Plymouth Township.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday. There will be a prayer service Thursday evening.
PASTERNAK, JOHN
October 28, 1999
John S. Pasternak Jr., 46, of Short Street in Edwardsville, died suddenly Thursday at his home.
Born in Kingston, he was a son of Jennie (Jackowski) Pasternak, with whom he resided, and the late John S. Pasternak Sr.
He was employed by the Offset Paperback Co. in Dallas.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his daughter, Angie; son, John Paul; sister, Gail Brennan, Edwardsville; one grandson; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday at a time to be announced from the Kopicki Funeral Home, 263 Zerbey Ave., Kingston.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
PAUL PATRICK

Paul J. Patrick, of Clark Street in Wyoming died Tuesday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Wyoming, he was a son of Paul A. Patrick, of Wyoming, and the late Sophie (Ostrowski) Patrick.
He resided in Harding, Pittston and Wyoming for most of his life. He was a graduate of Wyoming High School and Penn State University.
He was employed at Ma's Old Fashioned Plant in Plains Township, and later at Coca Cola Bottling Co. in Pittston Township.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.
Surviving are his wife of 19 years, the former Diane Falcone; daughter, Jill Angela Patrick, West Pittston; son, Paul David, at home; sister, Marcy Weisberg, Philadelphia; brothers , Thomas, Wyoming; Allen Jake, Exeter; and Matthew, Tobyhanna; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9 p.m. Thursday from the Metcalfe & Shaver Funeral Home, Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, with Elder Louise Uritz, of the Second Presbyterian Church in Pittston, officiating. Interment will be private.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
Paul, John

John L. Paul Sr., 86, a guest at Star Hill Nursing Home in Beaumont, died Monday at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township.
Born in Kingston, he was a son of the late William and Bessie (Lewis) Paul. He was a graduate of Kingston High School and had resided in Shavertown for many years.
Before retiring, he was employed as supervisor of maintenance by the Dallas School District. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the
Korean War.
He was a member of Daddow Isaacs American Legion Post 672 in Dallas, and the Audubon Society.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Herriotts Paul.
Surviving are his son, John L., Jr., Harveys Lake; companion, June Sorber, Noxen; brothers , William, San Jose, Calif.; and Richard, North Carolina; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 672 Memorial Highway, Dallas.
Memorial donations may be made to the Back Mountain Memorial Highway.
VICTOR PAULASKIS
Victor M. Paulaskis, 80, of Andover Street in Wilkes-Barre died Tuesday at his home.
Born Nov. 15, 1918 in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Casimer and Mary Ann Gutauskas Paulaskis,
He was a lifelong resident of Wilkes-Barre.
Before retiring in 1981, he was employed as a wire worker by the American Chain and Cable Co. in Wilkes-Barre. He also worked in the construction trade for 30 years as an iron worker in the Scranton Area and was a foreman for Pennsylvania Power & Light's steam electric station near Berwick.
He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II, serving from Nov. 23, 1942, until May 25, 1946 and reaching the rank of boatswain mate, petty officer first class.
He sailed on the USS Galatea from 1943 to 1945 and spent two years on a cutter patrolling and escorting convoys in the North Atlantic.
He also spent five years in the Merchant Marines.
He was a member of the Iron Workers Union, Local 489 in Scranton; and the American Home Association, Post 673 in Ashley.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Buckley.
Surviving are his wife, the former Marion Morgan, whom he married Nov. 16, 1950; brother, Charles Paulaskis, Bergenfield, N.J.; sisters , Lucie Bartuski, Wilkes-Barre; and Stella Hromchak, Buffalo, N.Y.; nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday from the George A. Strish Inc. Funeral Home, 105 N. Main St., Ashley, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church in Wilkes-Barre.
Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum on St. John's Walk in Hanover Township.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. this evening.

Helen E. (Sharpe) Pearce, 75, of Colonels Road, Hanover Township, died Sunday at her home.
Born June 22, 1924, in Pittston, she was a daughter of the late John and Kathleen Sharpe.
She was a graduate of St. John's High School, Pittston.
She was employed as a telephone operator at Pomeroy's Department Store for 18 years.
She was a member of St. Aloysius Church, Wilkes-Barre.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas F.
Surviving are her daughters , Maureen Britzke and Linda Schultz, both of Wilkes-Barre; son, Thomas F. Jr., Wilkes-Barre; brother, Neil Sharpe, Pittston; sister, Mary Kay Luongo, Pittston; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday from the Matthew T. Jacobs Funeral Home Inc., 47 Old River Road, Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Aloysius Church.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.

NAOMI PECUKONIS

Naomi R. (Siegel) Pecukonis, of West Church Street in Nanticoke died Monday in the Hospice Community Care Unit at Mercy Hospital in Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Mildred (Van Horn) Siegel.
Before her retirement, she was employed at the Boston Store, and also by the Social Security Administration.
She was a former member of Firwood Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward.
Surviving are her sons , Michael, Mountaintop; and Eric, Nanticoke; daughters , Deborah Theiman and Karen Pecukonis, both of Nanticoke; 10 grandchildren; sister, Marjorie Hooper, Plymouth; and brothers , Ernest, Wilkes-Barre; and James, Mountaintop.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday from the Earl W. Lohman Funeral Home, 14 W. Green St., Nanticoke with the Rev. Thomas Miller officiating. Interment will be in Fern Knoll Burial Park in Dallas.
