Alexandra A. Ouhrabka, 96, of Dallas, Pennsylvania , and formerly of Rhode Island, died Saturday, May 1, 1999, at the Meadows Nursing Center in Dallas, Pennsylvania .
Born in Turnov, Czech Republic, July 3, 1902, she was a daughter of the late Josef and Alexandra Svobodova Valha. She had attended schools in the Czech Republic.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jan Ouhrabka, 1979; son, Jan Ouhrabka, Jr., 1984; sisters , Jarmila Plihalova and Vera Mullerova, Czech Republic; and brother, Josef Valha, Czech Republic.
Surviving are her daughter, Alexandra C. Moravec, Dallas, Pennsylvania ; sister, LiBuse Skrbkova, Washington ; grandchildren, J. Alexander Moravec, Rhode Island; Alexandra Ocampo, Italy; Dagmar Moravec, Michigan; Marie Groover, Oregon; John Ouhrabka, Rhode Island; Tom Ouhrabka, Rhode Island; great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Ofelia Ocampo; Sheehan, Zack, Nora and Matthew Moravec-Gallagher; Jackson Pace Groover; Tim, Jason and Alyson Ouhrabka; Eric, Brian Jullian and Katie Ouhrabka; and great-great-grandson, Jan Chafe Ouhrabka.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 6, 1999, in St. Mark's Church in Cranston, Rhode Island, followed by interment in St. Ann's Cemetery in Cranston.
OWENS, LEONA

Leona Owens, 83, of Pierce Street in Plymouth, died Wednesday at ManorCare Health Services in Kingston.
Born Jan. 11, 1916, in Plymouth, she was a daughter of the late George and Anna (Valukonis) Plitnik. She attended Plymouth schools.
Before her retirement, she was employed by Mercy Hospital in Wilkes-Barre.
She was a member of St. Casimir's Church in the Lyndwood section of Hanover Township.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; sisters , Anna Plitnik and Tessie Litz; and brothers , George and Anthony.
Surviving are her sister, Alvina Soroka, San Diego; stepson, Henry Owens, Trucksville, Kingston Township; one stepgranddaughter, two great-stepgrandchildren, one niece and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday from the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St., Plymouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Casimir's Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery in Muhlenburg.

OZARK, ANDREW
October 28, 1999
Andrew F. Ozark, of Lidy's Road, Dupont, died Thursday at the Scranton Community Medical Center.
Born in Dupont, he was a son of the late Valentine and Victoria (Polak) Ozech.
He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, Dupont.
He was preceded in death by sisters , Anne Washney and Jean Gratzo; brothers , Louis, Joseph, and Anthony; and a grandson, Robert.
Surviving are his wife, the former Louise Levandowsky; daughters , Elaine, Teresa, Lillian, and Andrea; a son, Anthony; 10 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sisters , Mildred Wesley, Dupont; Mary Sheerer, Avoca; brothers , John, Dupont; Frank, Suscon; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Monday from the Stephen M. Lokuta Funeral Home, 200 Wyoming Ave., Dupont, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church, Dupont.
Interment will be in the parish Cemetery, Dupont.

THOMAS PACEWICZ

Thomas A. Pacewicz, 51, of Nicholson died Wednesday while vacationing in Arizona.
Born April 28, 1948, in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Stanley and Julia (Duskosky) Pacewicz.
He was a graduate of Plymouth High School and a graduate of Villanova University, where he received a bachelor of science degree in chemistry. He received his master's degree in chemistry from the University of Scranton.
He resided in Wilkes-Barre for many years and was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Nicholson.
He was employed as the manager of process control at Integra Life Sciences in New Jersey. He was previously employed by the Pennsylvania State Police at the crime lab in Wyoming. He was a member of the American Chemical Society.
Surviving are his wife, the former Brenda Godek; children, Christina and Louis, at home; brother, Stanley, Jr., Trucksville, Kingston Township; sister, Theresa Santucci, Oakland, Calif.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 8:30 p.m. Sunday from the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St., Plymouth, with the Rev. Bernard Evanofski, of St. Anthony's Church in Larksville, officiating.
Friends may call from 7 p.m. until the time of services Sunday evening.

THOMAS PALSHA
April 13, 1999
Thomas A. Palsha, 72, of Montgomery Village, Md., died April 13, following a battle with cancer.
Born in Ashley, he was the son of the late Andrew and Helen (Henicheck) Palsha.
He attended the Hanover Township School and later moved to Washington , D.C.
He was trained as a Golden Glove boxer in the Navy.
He instructed and managed the local metropolitan studios for Arthur Murray's Dance Studio in Washington , D.C., where he met his wife, Bernice N. Palsha. The couple taught ballroom dancing and put themselves through cosmetology school. They opened their first beauty salon in 1963, Thomas Hair Stylist's, Rockville, Md. They later opened more salons and serviced the community for over 28 years. They couple recently completed their 20th year of ballroom dancing.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Andrew.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his daughter, Debrah Palsha, Frederick, Md.; son, T. Andrew Palsha Jr., Abingdon, Md.; sisters , Mary DelPrior, Florida; Gertrude Heaney and Helen Fetchko, both of Ashley; Dorothy Jordan, Switzerland; brothers , Carl and Joseph, both of Ashley; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Funeral services were held April 16 at the First Baptist Church of Gaithersburg, Md.
Interment was in Parklawn Memorial Park, Rockville.
Arrangements were by Pumphrey's Colonial Funeral Home, Rockville.
PALUCK, MARY
October 3, 1999
Mary (Volak) Paluck, of Church Street, Swoyersville, died Sunday in Mercy Center, Dallas.
Born in Swoyersville, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Julia (Starcec) Volak.
She was a member of St. John Nepomucene Church, Luzerne, and its Altar and Rosary Society.
Before retiring she was employed as an assembler at the Duplan Manor and Valley Plastics. She also was a volunteer in the cafeteria at Central Catholic High School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emery; son, Edward; brothers , Lawrence, Michael and John Volak; and sister, Blanche Volak.
Surviving are daughters , Mary Ann Basarab, Swoyersville; Joan Dzanko, Shavertown; son, Robert, Alexandria, Va.; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday from the Lehman-Gregory Funeral Home, Inc., 281 Chapel St., Swoyersville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. John Nepomucene Church, Luzerne.
Interment will be in the parish Cemetery, Courtdale.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. A wake service will be conducted Tuesday.
John Papi

John Edward Papi, 43, of Acker Avenue, West Scranton, died Saturday at home.
Born in Scranton, he was son of Secondo Papi, with whom he resided, and the late Theresa Hall Papi.
He graduated from the former West Scranton Catholic High School and attended the University of Scranton.
He was employed as a mixologist for the Arena Billards, Moosic, and also for Paul's Pub, Scranton.
He was a member of the United Iron Workers Union and also a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, West Scranton.
Surviving, in addition to his Father , are brothers Joseph, Tunkhannock; Larry, Old Forge; Thomas, Moosic; James, West Scranton; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday from the Durkan-Cuff-Kearney Funeral Home, 125 N. Main Ave., Scranton, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Main Avenue, West Scranton.
Interment will be in the St. Joseph's Cemetery, the Minooka section of Scranton.

Lucile Parker

Lucile M. Parker, 78, of Sutton Road, Shavertown, Kingston Township, died Sunday in Largo, Fla., following a brief illness.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Jerome and Elizabeth Malloy McCrystle.
She graduated from Wilkes-Barre Institute and Manhattanville College of the Sacred Heart.
She was employed as a realtor, associated with the offices of Howell & Jones Inc.
She was a lifelong resident of the Wyoming Valley.
She was active in community affairs and served on the boards of many local service organizations, including the board of trustees of the YWCA; chairman of the advisory committee of Luzerne County Child Welfare Services; The League of Home Health Services; Welfare Planning Council of Luzerne County; and The League of the Northeast Philharmonic Society. She was a trustee of Community Services of Pennsylvania .
She was a sustaining member of the Junior League of Wilkes-Barre and a member of St. Therese's Church, Shavertown.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Oscar S. Parker.
Surviving are daughters Deirdre Arntz, Seattle, Wash.; Alexa Parker, Indian Shores, Fla.; sons Jerome S., Lansdowne; Gregory R., Milwaukee, Wis.; four grandchildren; sister, Jacqueline Price, Stuart, Fla.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday from the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home, 140 N. Main St., Shavertown, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Therese's Church, Shavertown.
Interment will be in the Huntsville Cemetery, Jackson Township.

Richard Parry
May 21, 1998
Richard A. Parry, 31, of Smith Street, Dupont, died Thursday at the home of his in-laws, Stanley and Louise Magda, Jenkins Township, where he was being cared for during an illness.
Born Aug. 16, 1966, in Scranton, he was the son of James Parry of Moosic and Beverly Gardner of Dickson City.
He was a graduate of Florence High School, Florence, Miss.
He received specialized training in telecommunications from Henkels & McCoy Training in Wilkes-Barre.
Before his illness, he was employed by AT&T in Scranton.
He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Hughestown, and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union.
He and his wife, the former Louise Magda, celebrated their second wedding anniversary on Aug. 5.
Surviving, in addition to his parents and wife, are aunts, uncles, cousins and half siblings.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday from the Frank A. Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter, with the Rev. Denise Brown of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Hughestown, officiating.
Interment will be in Old Forge Cemetery.
