Neishell, Edward

Edward T. Neishell, of West Union Street, Hudson Section of Plains Township, died Monday at home.
Born in the Hudson section of Plains Township, he was a son of the late Joseph and Helen (Woloski) Neishell. He attended Plains Township schools. He worked at Atlas Chain & Cable, West Pittston, until retiring in 1972. He was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, the Hudson Servicemen's Club and the Polish American Club, all of Hudson.
He was preceded in death by his brothers , Michael and David; and a sister, Josephine Stepko.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, the former Isabelle Benczkowski; son, Edward, Plains Township; two granddaughters, one great granddaughter and sister, Frances Mango, Plainfield, N.J.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday from the Michael J. Mikelski Funeral Home, 293 S. River St., Plains Township, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Monsignor David L. Tressler will conduct a prayer service today.
Nelson, Donald

Donald J. Nelson, of South Main Street, Hanover Township, died Friday at his home.
Born March 8, 1960, in Hanover Township, he was the son of the late Donald and Dorothy Cotchan Nelson.
He was a 1978 graduate of Hanover Area High School.
Surviving are his sister, Colleen Pukatch, Mountaintop; brothers , Michael, Mark and James, all of Hanover Township; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family from the Mamary-Durkin Funeral Service, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Hanover Township.
There will be no calling hours.
Anna Brinzo

Anna Brinzo of Ransom Street, Plymouth, died Friday at home.
Born in Plymouth and a lifelong resident, she was daughter of the late Nicholas and Julia Venglosky.
She attended Plymouth schools and was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Plymouth.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen, in 1985; brothers Andrew, Harry and Michael Venglosky.
Surviving are her daughters Anne Butchko, Wilkes-Barre; Barbara Rogers, Harveys Lake; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 8 a.m. Monday from the Piszczek Funeral Home, 70 E. Main St., Plymouth, with Divine Liturgy at 8:30 a.m. in SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Plymouth, with the Rev. Dr. Nick Kostiuk officiating.
Interment will be in the parish Cemetery, Plymouth Township.
Friends may call from 7 a.m. to time of services Monday.

Joseph Latona, formerly of Jenkins Court, Pittston, died Saturday at the Wesley Village, Jenkins Township.

Nice, Aldona

Aldona K. Nice, of Garrahan Street, Lyndwood section of Hanover Township, died Friday at the family home.
Born in Larksville, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Kathryn Stanavage. She was a graduate of Larksville High School and resided in Lyndwood for 50 years.
She was a member of St. Casimir's Church, Lyndwood. She was last employed at the Ann Lee Frocks Garment Co., Lyndwood, as a seamstress for 25 years. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J.
Surviving are her son, Edward, Lee Park, Hanover Township; daughter, Diane Judge, Kingston; sisters , Lillian Matley, Lyndwood; Eleanor Stacy, Virginia; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Monday from the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St., Plymouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Casimir's Church. Interment will be in the parish Cemetery, Muhlenburg. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. A prayer service will be conducted today. Memorial donations may be made to the SPCA.
JOSEPH NICHOLS
Joseph Bell Nichols, 94, of Gardner Avenue in the Parsons Section of Wilkes-Barre died Tuesday at his home.
Born July 24, 1904 in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late John and Mary Ellen Bell Nichols.
A lifelong resident of the area, he was a member of Parsons Welsh Baptist Church and was a 54-year member of Landmark Lodge 442, F&AM of Wilkes-Barre.
He was employed at the Hudson Coal Co. as a mine foreman for more than 40 years.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Nettie Hope; brothers , Thomas Nichols, Robert Nichols and Edward Nichols; and sister, Mary Nichols.
Surviving are his wife, the former Helen Telford Shaffer; sons , Joseph W. Nichols, Forkston; daughters , Hope D'Ambrosio, Deptford, N.J.; and Thelma Borowski, Wilkes-Barre; stepson, James Shaffer, Chase; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; sisters , Margaret Fletcher, Milford, Conn.; and Jane Reese, Dallas; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday from the E. Blake Collins Funeral Home, 159 George Ave., Wilkes-Barre with services conducted by the Rev. David McFarland, of Parsons Welsh Baptist Church.
Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Burial Park in the Carverton section of Kingston Township.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Landmark Lodge 442, F&AM will conduct Masonic services at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Helen Nienius, 78, of Beade Street, Plymouth, died Wednesday at Manorcare in Kingston.
Born in Plymouth, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Ritkowski Shebloski.
She was a lifelong resident of Plymouth and attended Plymouth schools.
She was a member of St. Mary's Nativity Church, Plymouth.
Before her retirement, she was employed by J.B. Carr Co., Wilkes-Barre.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor J., in 1996; a son, Victor; brothers , Stanley, Joseph, Clem and Frank Shebloski; sisters , Victoria Wido, Lois Borsavage and Lillian Kupstas.
Surviving are a daughter, Marlene Zekas, Larksville; three grandchildren; a sister, Marcella Nikulski, Hanover Township; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Saturday from the Piszczek Funeral Home, 70 E. Main St., Plymouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Mary's Nativity Church.
Interment will be in the parish Cemetery, Plymouth Township.

O'Donnell, Bernardine
March 9, 2000
Bernardine E. O'Donnell, 70, of Red Coat Lane, Hanover Township, Wilkes-Barre, died Thursday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Nanticoke, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Butchko) Zarzetski. She was a graduate of Nanticoke Area Schools, obtained a B.S. Degree in Nursing from Wilkes College, and a Masters Degree from Villanova University. She taught nursing at the University of Pennsylvania , Philadelphia, was an associate chief of nursing education in VA hospitals in various states, an associate director of nursing at Hershey Medical Center, and an evaluator of nursing programs for the state department of nursing. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Nanticoke, the University of Pennsylvania Alumni Association, and Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph.
Surviving are her nieces, nephews, cousins and one uncle.
Funeral services will be 9 a.m. Saturday from the Grontkowski Funeral Home P.C. 51-53 W. Green St., Nanticoke, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Nanticoke. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday.
Ohnmacht, Cecelia

Cecelia M. Ohnmacht, of Scott Street, Parsons section of Wilkes-Barre, died Friday at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born May 21, 1911, in Pittston, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Perry Wiskowski. She attended the Pittston schools and was formerly employed at Hitchner's Baking Co. She also resided in Waymart and Philadelphia for several years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Ohnmacht; daughters , Elsie Jenkins and Jane Bonk; and son, John Ohnmacht.
Surviving are sons , Ronald Ohnmacht, Vestal, N.Y.; Jerome Ohnmacht, at home; Joseph Ohnmacht, Los Angeles; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Private funeral services will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are by E. Blake Collins Funeral Home, Wilkes-Barre.
OLDFIELD, OLWYN

Olwyn "Ollie" Oldfield, 79, of West Union Street in Kingston, died Wednesday of an apparent heart attack at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Edwardsville, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Bessie Thomas Lewis.
She resided on West Union Street in Kingston for the past 15 years. She previously resided on West Dorrance Street in Kingston for many years.
She had formerly been a crossing guard in Kingston.
She was a member of Dorranceton United Methodist Church in Kingston. She was past president of the MOC Auxiliary of Kingston, a member of Colon Beaver of District 11 Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a volunteer to Meals on Wheels, the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and to the State Deputy to the VAVS to the Veterans Medical Center. She also belonged to the Kingston Senior Citizens Center, its shuffleboard team and line dancing at the center.
She was preceded in death by her brothers , Robert and Harry.
Surviving are her daughter, Barbara Mansfield, Eastern; sisters , Gladys Korey, White house Station, N.J.; Minnie Caves, Ocala, Fla.; Ilonwhy "Lonie" Sachs, Kingston; and Margaret Eddy and Ceinwen DeMarco, both of Forty Fort; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Dorranceton United Methodist Church, 549 Wyoming Ave., Kingston, with the Rev. Michael Willis officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Cemetery in Carverton.
Friends may call from noon until the time of services Saturday.
Memorial donations may be made to the Kingston Senior Citizens Center, 690 Wyoming Ave., Kingston, 18704; or to the American Heart Association in Wilkes-Barre.
