MARCELLA H. RUPERT
Marcella H. Rupert, 84, of Level Green, died Saturday, April 22, 2000, in the Medina Hospital, Medina, Ohio. She was born March 5, 1916, in Apollo, a daughter of the late Thomas and Cecilia Braun Heyart. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Trafford and was known as the Flower Lady within the church. She was a member of the Level Green Senior Citizens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert A. Rupert, in 1972; a brother, Nicholas Heyart; and a sister, Catherine Shanteau. She is survived by two sons , Donald Lee Rupert of Medina, Ohio, and Robert Arthur Rupert of Clinton; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Friends will be received at the JOHN M. DOBRINICK FUNERAL HOME, 429 Duquesne Ave., Trafford, Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Trafford, with the Rev. William P. FRANCES POSCICH VISNICK
Frances "Franie" Poscich Visnick, 81, of Delmont, died Sunday, April 23, 2000. She was born March 28, 1919, in Pleasant Valley, a daughter of the late Vincent and Pauline Susa Poscich. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Nick F. Visnick; and two brothers , Vincent and Albert Poscich. Franie was a member of the Delmont Firemen's Auxiliary, the Delmont Lioness Club and the Delmont Women's Club. She is survived by a nephew, David, and his wife, Donna Poscich, of Glastonbury, Conn.; and a niece, Mrs. Ruth (the late Vincent M.) Poscich of Greensburg. She is also survived by several great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins; and a host of friends. Friends will be received at the EDWIN N. WOLFE FUNERAL HOME INC., Export, Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Glen H. Burrows officiating. MICHAEL BOSKO
Michael Bosko, 77, of Charleroi, entered into rest Saturday, April 22, 2000, in UPMC Shadyside, after a lengthy illness. He was born March 29, 1923, in Monongahela, a son of the late Michael Sr. and Anna Druggan Bosko. He was a member of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church of Charleroi, the VFW, American Legion Post #22, Elks Lodge #294, and St. John the Baptist Russian Society, all of Charleroi. He was also a member of the North Charleroi French and Slovak Clubs. A 1941 graduate of Monongahela High School, he served during World War II as a Tech 5 in Battery B, 501st Anti Aircraft Artillery Unit, in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater, receiving the Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal as an M1 Rifle Expert. Mr. Bosko retired as store manager for the PLCB after 43 years of service in the Mon Valley area. Survivors include his wife, Priscilla Cherok Bosko of Charleroi, with whom he would have celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary on May 20; two daughters and sons -in-law, Michelle and Louis Gajewski of Greensburg and Barbara and David Deavers of Sterling, Va.; three grandchildren, Jennifer and Benjamin Gajewski of Greensburg and Katherine Deavers of Sterling, Va.; a brother, George Bosko, and two sisters , Helen Yuschak and Olga Collin, all of Monongahela. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Eugene Bosko. Friends will be received in the ED MELENYZER FUNERAL HOMES INC., 825 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. VFW service will be held in the funeral home Monday at 7 p.m., American Legion services at 7:30 p.m., followed by Parastas service at 8 p.m. Funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by service at 10 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church in Charleroi with Father Emil Hutnyan officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery. Sympathy honorariums may be made to the American Cancer Society or Holy Trinity Church.

C. Herschel Kaufman, 74, of Jefferson Hills, on Friday, April 21, 2000. Beloved husband of Laird (Scheidemantel) Kaufman. Also survived by an aunt and numerous cousins. He was a Noble Grand Odd Fellow of Zelienople, a Worshipful Master of the Blue Lodge F&AM, Ellwood City, commander of the American Legion of Ellwood City, a retired industrial electrical estimator, and a World War II U.S. Army veteran of the 66th Division. He enjoyed golf and bowling. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service at 1:30 p.m. at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME INC., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills. Bruce Kwaczala, 40, of Arlington, Texas , formerly of Greensburg (Midway), died suddenly Thursday, April 20, 2000. He was born Jan. 16, 1960, in Greensburg, a son of Joseph and Verna Kwaczala, now of Arlington, Texas . He attended the Hempfield schools. He is survived by his wife, Gloria; a son, Joshua; and a daughter, Danny, both at home; a sister, Pam Kwaczala and her daughter, Vanessa Kwaczala of Jeannette; and a brother, Jeff and his wife, Cassy, and their children, Michael, Jonathan, and Annamarie, of Greensburg. Preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Joseph and Susan Kwaczala; and maternal grandparents, Charles and Carrie Baker. Friends will be received at the MOORE FUNERAL HOME, 4216 S. E. Fred Lockard, 98, of Greensburg, died Saturday, April 22, 2000, in Redstone Highlands, Greensburg. He was born Aug. 2, 1901, in Lisbon, a son of the late David W. and Mary Atwell Lockard. He started his career in Greybull, Wyo., with Standard Oil Co. and later moved to western Pennsylvania and was general manager of Peoples Natural Gas Co. before his retirement. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a former member and director of the Greensburg Rotary Club, and a life member of the Greensburg Elks Lodge #511. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Lockard; two brothers ; and two sisters . Surviving are his son, Fred W. Lockard and wife, Peggy, of Greensburg; grandchildren, Harry Byers Lockard and his wife, Kim, and Carol Lockard Dickerson and her husband, Spencer; great-grandchildren, Jason and Sarah Lockard and Rebecca Dickerson; and several nieces. Daniel "Dan" Mrdjenovich, 88, of Turtle Creek, died Saturday, April 22, 2000. A son of the late Steve and Stanka (Petrovich) Mrdjenovich. Husband of the late Ann (Vukasinovich) Mrdjenovich. Beloved Father of Mel and Robert Mrdjenovich. Brother of Nicholas and Charles Mrdjenovich, Mitzi Gibb, Melva Ligush, Walter Mrdjenovich and the late Donald and Milos Mrdjenovich, Diana Sonovick, Violet Lesnau, Michael, George and Joseph Mrdjenovich. Also eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Julia H. Newman, 80, of Jeannette, formerly of Yukon, died Friday, April 21, 2000, at her residence. She was born March 16, 1920, in Yukon, a daughter of the late George and Erma Agatucci Yopek. Julia was a member of the S.N.P.J. Lodge #583, Herminie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Stephen Fabian, and her second husband, Howard Newman. She is survived by two sisters , Evelyn Mullen and Genevieve Gresko, both of Jeannette; an aunt, Elizabeth Agatucci of Yukon; and two nieces, Marsha Lynn Gresko of San Diego, Calif., and Nancy Jean Gresko of Erie. Margaret Olive Oplinger, 96, of Jeannette, died Friday, April 21, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born May 3, 1903, in Boquet, a daughter of the late Clarence and Louella Cline Ashbaugh. She was a member of the Grace United Church of Christ, Jeannette. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Oplinger; two sons , Carl and Kenneth Oplinger; a daughter, Virginia Welshons; a brother, Clifford Ashbaugh; and a sister, Ivy Koch. She is survived by two sons , Robert E. and his wife, Sarah Jane, of Cape Coral, Fla., and Eugene and his wife, Margaret, of Jeannette; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; a brother, Kenneth Ashbaugh of Glendora, Calif.; a sister, Alice Mountain of San Diego, Calif.; and a number of nieces and nephews. Charles J. "Chuck" Saint, 71, of Jeannette, died Thursday, April 20, 2000, at his residence. He was born Jan. 29, 1929, in Jeannette, a son of the late Florence Hower Saint and the late Charles E. Saint. Prior to retirement, he was employed by the Polish Club of Jeannette and the former Jeannette Glass. He was a member of the Polish Brotherhood of White Eagles and American Legion Post #344, both of Jeannette. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict, having served in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Lois Lowery Saint. Surviving are a sister, Esther (Saint) Elias of Georgia, formerly of Jeannette; a brother, Paul M. Elias and his wife, Adelaide, of Jeannette; nieces, Edna Mae Hall and husband, Robert, of Enigma, Ga., and Beverly Saint of Arlington, Va.; great-nieces and nephew, Mrs. Donald (Christina) Childs of Senoia, Ga., Donald Straley of Atlanta, Ga., and Mrs. David (Kimberly) Harris of Senoia, Ga.; great-niece and nephews, Joshua Hunter Childs, Nicholas Trent Childs, Hope Naomi Harris, and Brandon Hugh Harris; and a close friend, Lois Zaleski. Clara Romayne Sloan, 77, of Level Green, died Friday, April 21, 2000, in Woodhaven Care Center, Monroeville. She was born May 11, 1922, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Josiah Stevenson and Goldie Carns McFarland. She was a life member of the First Presbyterian Church in Trafford, where she taught Sunday school for 17 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert McLeod Sloan. She is survived by a son, Robert Sloan of Youngstown, Ohio; three daughters , Carol Sloan of Pittsburgh, Patty Sloan and Amy Sloan, both of Monroeville; a brother, Charles "Bud" McFarland of Greensburg; three sisters , Helen McFarland of Greensburg, Genevieve Mottin of Nanty Glo and Betty Bower of Seattle, Wash.; and two grandchildren, Robert Clyde Sloan and Jennifer Lynn Sloan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Walthour; a son, Rodney A. Walthour; a brother, William Hays; and a grandson. She is survived by three daughters , Mrs. Warren (Virginia) L.
