Aldona R. Monto of South Grant Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Wednesday at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Adam and Margaret Yankowski Monto.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, East South Street, Wilkes-Barre, and was a graduate of GAR Memorial High School, Wilkes-Barre.
Until her retirement, she was employed as the chef at Ray Hottle's Seafood Restaurant, Wilkes-Barre, for over 35 years.
She was previously employed by Leon Fernbaugh Silk Mills, Wilkes-Barre.
After her retirement, she was a volunteer and member of the Charles T. Adams Senior Citizens Center, Wilkes-Barre, for over 20 years.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Vito.
Surviving are brothers , Leonard, Wilkes-Barre; George, Swoyersville; Olgert, Biloxi, Miss; sisters , Ruth Purdy, Edwardsville; Dolores Dourand, Wilkes-Barre; Caroline Hughes, West Wyoming; Ann Norosky, Starrucca; Marion Mitchell, Manville, N.J.; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Friday from the John V. Morris - Charles J. Leagus Funeral Home, 281 E. Northampton St., Wilkes-Barre, with a funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church.
Interment will be in the parish Cemetery, Bear Creek.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. There will be a Vigil Service at the funeral home at 8 p.m. today with the Rev. Theodore L. Obaza, pastor, officiating.
MONTROSS, ELEANOR

Eleanor M. Montross, 79, of Meadows Apartments, Dallas, died Sunday at her home.
Born May 5, 1920, in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late James and Anna (Keiper) Brown.
She graduated from Kingston High School, class of 1938.
She resided in Shavertown for 20 years and in Dallas Township for most of her life. She resided at the Meadows Apartments for 18 years.
She was a member of the Shavertown United Methodist Church. She also was a former member of the Dallas Junior Women's Club.
Surviving are her son, Ted Montross, Dallas; daughter, Carol Pollick, Shickshinny; brothers , Alfred Brown, Shavertown; Arga Brown, Spring Hill, Fla.; sister, Shirley Bunney, Tunkhannock; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of Routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with the Rev. Douglas A. Clark, of the Shavertown United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas.
Friends may call one hour before the time of services Wednesday.

lfred J. Montville, 79, of Plains Township, died Thursday at the inpatient unit of Hospice of the VNA, Heritage House, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Plains Township, he was a son of the late Joseph and Tillie (Tamisaitis) Montville. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Africa Middle Eastern Theater and was awarded a Purple Heart. He was an area miner; worked for the International Color Press, Wilkes-Barre; The Tobyhanna Depot, and was a custodian at the Veteran Building, Wilkes-Barre. He was a member of St. Francis Church, Miners Mills.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Rita Allen; brothers , William; Walter and Michael.
Surviving are his sons ; Harry, Hughesville; Robert, Plains Township; and James, Exeter; five grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday from the Corcoran Funeral Home, 20 S. Main St., Plains Township, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Francis Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.

Robert M. Moore, 70, of Ransom Road, Dallas, died Monday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Michael P. Moore, 46, of Woodland Hills, Calif., died Saturday at Tarzana Medical Center.
Born Dec. 9, 1953, in Pittston, he was a son of Victoria (Schillaci) Moore, Pittston, and the late Michael P. Moore. He was a 1971 graduate of Pittston Area High School. He worked for Paramount Studios and was an information systems administrator for The Boeing Co., Garden Grove, Calif.
Surviving, in addition to his mother , are his wife, Lynnette; sons , Michael James and Jack Patrick; and daughter, Elizabeth Mary.
A private funeral service was held in Woodland Hills, Calif. Burial will be in Pierce brothers Valley Oaks Cemetery, West Lake Village, Calif.
ELMER MOORE

Elmer E. "Bud" Moore Jr., of Thornhurst, died Friday in Mercy Hospital in Scranton.
Born in Thornhurst, he was the son of the late Elmer E. and Florence (Hayes) Moore Sr.
He earned a bachelor's degree in education from East Stroudsburg University and a master's degree from Lehigh University in 1962.
He began his teaching career in the Palisades School, Bucks County, and later became the head of the humanities department in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. He also was an adjunct English professor for Northampton Community College.
He owned Mountain Nurseries in Thornhurst for more than 30 years and was a deputy wildlife conservation officer with the Pennsylvania Game Commission from 1957 to 1995.
He was a member of the Thornhurst United Methodist Church and the Moscow Lodge Free and Accepted Masons #504.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Moore Wilberding.
Surviving are his wife of 23 years, the former Merabeth Newton; daughters , Lynn E. Moore, Perkasie; Nancy E. Gisondi, Langhorne; sons , Glenn E. Moore, Pipersville; Craig E. Moore, Lansdale; eight grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will begin at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday from the parking lot of Thornhurst Volunteer Fire Co., with services at 11:30 a.m. in the Thornhurst Country Club Estates Pavilion, with the Rev. Lori Steffensen, of Thornhurst United Methodist Church, and the Rev. Gil Evans, of the Thornhurst Volunteer Fire Co., officiating.
There will be no calling hours.

James Moore

James Moore, 84, of Fellows Street, Shickshinny, died Friday at the Berwick Retirement Village II. He was a resident there since Feb. 20.
Born in Elmira, N.Y., Jan. 26, 1914, he was the son of the late Leo and Florence Clark Moore.
He first worked for the DL&W Railroad and was last employed as a security guard at the BIDA Complex, Berwick, retiring in 1977 from M&T security.
Surviving are his wife of 34 years, the former Betty Hontz; daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Judith) Rinehamer, Wanamie; step-son, Robert Titus, Old Bridge, N.J.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday from the Mayo Funeral Home Inc., 77 N. Main St., Shickshinny.
Interment will be in the Slocum Cemetery, Slocum Township.

Norman J. Morckel, 43, of Lewis Avenue, Trucksville, died Friday at Hospice Community Care, Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of Herman and Leila Wilson Morckel, of Trucksville. He was a graduate of Dallas High School and resided in Trucksville most of his life. He was once employed as a cabinet maker by Marval Kitchens, Wyoming, and was a member of First Baptist Church, Wilkes-Barre.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are a brother, Brian, Charlotte, N.C.; and sister, Elaine Sands, Tunkhannock.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday from the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 672 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with Dr. William Silfee, of First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Park, Carverton. Friends may call from 1:30 p.m. until the time of services Monday. Memorial donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Morgan, Roy

Roy E. Morgan, 91, of Forty Fort, died Saturday at the home of his son, James E. Morgan, in Wilkes-Barre.
Born Dec. 2, 1908, in Nanticoke, he was the son of the late Morgan John and Margaret Edwards Morgan.
He was educated in Hanover Township schools and received his bachelor's degree from Penn State University in 1931. He received his master's degree from Penn State in 1935. He was an assistant professor and administrator at Yale University in New Haven, Conn.
After graduation, he was employed by Penn State at the main campus in State College and in Hazleton, Pottsville and DuBois.
In 1936, he married Mary Parry Morgan, of Plymouth, who preceded him in death.
He served as the music, drama and art critic for the Times Leader for 25 years.
In 1947, he received a license to operate WILK, an AM radio station in Wilkes-Barre, which he operated until 1989. His organization, the Wyoming Valley Broadcasting Co., launched the second UHF television station in the nation, WILK-TV, in the 1950s, which through a merger became WNEP-TV. He also operated WILK-FM, WTLQ-FM in Pittston and WSER in Elkton, Md.
Over the years he headed 25 civic and charitable organizations and received numerous broadcasting awards. In 1996, he was inducted into the Broadcasters Hall of Fame.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Wilkes-Barre and was active in Masonic affairs, especially at Caldwell Consistory in Bloomsburg, and received his 33rd degree.
Surviving are his sons , James E. Morgan, Wilkes-Barre; Roy J. Morgan, Tampa, Fla.; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home, 420 Wyoming Ave., Kingston, with the Rev. Dr. Robert Zanicky, of the First Presbyterian Church in Wilkes-Barre, officiating.
Entombment will be in Denison Cemetery in Swoyersville.

Frank B. Morgan Sr., 71, of White Haven Pocono, White Haven, died Sunday at the Hospice Care Unit, Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Willard and Louise (Esser) Morgan.
He worked for the White Haven Center for many years before his retirement.
He was a member of the White Haven and Kidder Township fire company social clubs.
Surviving are his sons , Willard, Wilkes-Barre; and Frank B. Jr., Hanover Township; daughter, Louise Croughn, White Haven Pocono; brother, Willard C., East Side, White Haven; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the Joseph E. Lehman Funeral Home, 403 Berwick St., White Haven, with the Rev. Michele Kaufman of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, White Haven, officiating.
Interment will be in Laurel Cemetery, White Haven.
