FLORENCE KULBACKI
Florence (Bobyak) Kulbacki, 69, of Jay Street, Swoyersville died Saturday in the Inpatient Unit of Hospice Community Care at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born Oct. 8, 1929, in Wilkes-Barre Township, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Yatsko Bobyak.
She was a graduate of Wilkes-Barre Township High School.
She was employed for many years as a seamstress in the local garment industry and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers' Union.
She was a member of Holy Name/St. Mary's Parish Community, Swoyersville, and the Swoyersville Senior Citizens' Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Kulbacki, in 1994; and brother, Leonard Bobyak.
Surviving are her brother, Joseph Bobyak, Wilkes-Barre Township; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, Park Avenue and South Street, Wilkes-Barre, with a funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Name/St. Mary's Church, Shoemaker Street, Swoyersville.
Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Dallas.

Kulick, Kimberleigh

Kimberleigh Susan Kulick, 31, of RR 1, Hop Bottom, died Feb. 20 at home.
Born Oct. 2, 1968, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a graduate of Pittston Area High School and attended several schools, including Community Medical Center School of Nursing and Delaware Valley College, where she majored in small animal science.
She is survived by her mother , Linda, and brother, Kurt, both of Hop Bottom; a half-brother, Robert Kulick Jr., Pittston; maternal grandparents, Rose and Glen Smith, Endwell, N.Y.; aunts and cousins.
Funeral services were at the First Universalist Church, Brooklyn, Pa. Memorial donations may be made to Luzerne, Lackawanna or Susquehanna County Society of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
KURZAWA, MARY
November 2, 1999
Mary Kurzawa, of Penn Avenue in Dupont died Tuesday at her home after an illness.
Born in Avoca, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Theresa Chernesky.
She was a graduate of the Empire School of Cosmetology.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Dupont, and the parish Altar & Rosary Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; sisters , Helen Kaplavka and Catherine Zapko; and brother, John.
Surviving are her sisters , Agnes Warunek, Dupont; Dorothy Baloh, Luzerne; Frances Groncki, Scranton; and Phyllis Galuska, Avoca; brother, Chester, Avoca; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10:15 a.m. Friday from the Stephen M. Lokuta Funeral Home, 200 Wyoming Ave., Dupont, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery in Dupont.

Kush, Henry

Henry E. Kush, 71, of Main Street, Kingston, died Friday at his home.
Born in Larksville, he was a son of the late Andrew and Mary (Giza) Kush. He worked for the Wyoming Valley West School District at the Pringle Street School in the maintenance department, Mountainside Manor, Dallas, the B. F. Goodrich Co., Exeter, and Duplan Corp., Kingston. He was a member of Saint Ignatius Church, Kingston and the Holy Name Society.
He was preceded in death by his brothers , Edward, Andrew and Adolph Kush.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, the former Elizabeth Powlitch; son, H. Richard Kush, Wescosville; daughters , Ann Russell, Mechanicsville, Va.; and Jean Daniels, Trucksville; sisters , Stella Pollick, Swoyersville, Phyllis Krehely, Edwardsville; and Genevieve Keef, Pringle; brothers , John Kush, Swoyersville; and Joseph Kush, Bunker Hill; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services
will be at 9 a.m. Monday from the Hugh B. Hughes & Son, Inc., Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, with the Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Ann's Chapel, Kingston. IRENE ONDASH
Irene (Lada) Ondash, of Murray Street in Larksville died Saturday at her home.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Josephine Poteraj Lada.
She resided in Larksville most of her life.
She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Larksville, and its Rosary Society. She was also a member of St. Nicholas Living a New Life Society in Wilkes-Barre.
She was employed in the area garment industry for 45 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, in 1988; brothers , Leo, Henry, Walter and Joseph; sisters , Cecelia Grezdzinski and Bertha Otto.
Surviving are her daughters , Florence Gosciewski, Larksville; and Joan Newman, Carverton, Kingston Township.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday from the Andrew Strish Funeral Home, 11 Wilson St., Larksville with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 1 Wilson St., Larksville.
Entombment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton, Kingston Township.
A Christian Wake Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Bernard P. Evanofski officiating.

Deborah L. Lakey, 46, of Riverview Manor in Pittston died Thursday at Penn State Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township following an illness.
Born in Newark, N.J., she was the daughter of the late John and Theresa Brockup. She attended Newark schools.
She was employed in the housekeeping department at the Woodlands Inn and Resort in Plains Township.
Surviving are her husband, Claud H. Lakey, and sons , Asa, Jason and Travis, all at home.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at the convenience of the family from the Paul F. Leonard Funeral Home, 575 N. Main St., Pittston.

Landau, Miriam
March 4, 2000
Miriam (Siegel) Landau, 86, died Saturday in the Heritage House, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Bertha (Williams) Siegel.
She was a graduate of Cornell University and studied at the Sorbonne in France.
She taught French in local high schools.
She volunteered at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital and performed Braille work for the blind. She was on the board of directors for Jewish Family Services. She was a life member of Temple Israel and its sisterhood, the Jewish Community Center and Hadassah.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel; and sister, Sarah Amdur.
Surviving are her son, Richard, Providence, R.I.; daughter, Sara Glassman, Allentown; four grandchildren; and sister, Anita Plotkin, Scranton.
Graveside funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. today in Temple Israel Cemetery, Swoyersvile, with Rabbi Larry Kaplan and Cantor Ahron Abraham officiating.
Shiva will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday at the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Plotkin, 550 Clay Ave., Apt. 5C, Scranton.
Arrangements are by the Rosenberg Funeral Chapel, 348 S. River St., Wilkes-Barre.
LANGAN, ANTHONY
October 30, 1999
Anthony A. Langan, 66, of North Pennsylvania Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, died Saturday in the emergency room of Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Andrew and Mary Boyle Langan.
He was a graduate of St. Mary's High School, Wilkes-Barre, and was a life resident of Wilkes-Barre.
He served with the U.S. Army in Japan during the
Korean War. He served with the Armored Cavalry and received several decorations, including the Combat Infantryman's Badge and the Korean Service Medal.
Following his military service, he worked for Hess Goldsmith Co., Wilkes-Barre. He later became a manager with the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board for more than 30 years and worked in Philadelphia, Hazleton, Freeland, Glen Lyon and Wilkes-Barre. He retired as manager of the Kingston Plaza Wine and Spirits Shoppe in 1993.
He was a member of the parish community of Sacred Heart/St. John the Evangelist, Wilkes-Barre; the former Christian Stegmaier Post; Veterans of Foreign Wars, Wilkes-Barre; honorary member of the Pennsylvania Sheriffs' Association; member of the Irish American Partnership, Boston; and the Library of Congress.
He and his wife, the former Mary M. Walsh, celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary earlier this year.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Anthony A. Langan, at home; and daughter, Joyce A. Langan, Philadelphia.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday from the H. Merritt Hughes Funeral Home, Inc., 451 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, with a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church, Wilkes-Barre.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. A Christian Wake Service will be Monday evening.

Lanteigne, Jean

Jean Lanteigne, of East Shawnee Avenue, Plymouth, died Wednesday at home.
Born Nov. 2, 1945, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late John and Frances (Lewis) Minuski. She attended the First Evangelical and Reformed Church, Plymouth, and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Black Diamond Post 395, 386 Wyoming Ave., Kingston.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Kapitula.
Surviving are her husband, Joseph G., whom she married May 7, 1966; daughter, Lisa Eckrote, Pittston; son, Paul, at home; three grandchildren; sisters , Joan Brady, Colonia, N.J.; Janet Borsavage and Judy Judzikowski, both of Plymouth; and Janice Berjewski, Nanticoke; brothers , John, Hunlock Creek; and James, Plymouth; nieces and nephews.
