Amy Marie Kalmanowicz, 22, of Main Street, Dupont, died Sunday at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
Born June 30, 1977, she was a daughter of Christopher and Debra (Landmesser) Kalmanowicz, of Dupont. She was a 1995 graduate of Bishop Hoban High School, and attended Lycoming College, Williamsport. She worked at Kalmanowicz's Market, Main Street, Dupont. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Anthony and Frances Kalmanowicz; and maternal grandfather, William Landmesser.
Surviving, in addition to her parents, are her brothers , Mark, Pittston; and Keith, Flagstaff, Ariz.; sister, Melanie Kalmanowicz, Pittston; maternal grandmother, Isabelle Landmesser, Pittston; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday from the Kizis-Lokuta Funeral Home, Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Interment will be in the parish Cemetery, Dupont. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
HERBERT KEENAPPLE

Herbert J. Keenapple, 73, of White Haven, died Saturday at his home.
Born in White Haven, he was the son of the late Charles and Alberta (Ammerman) Keenapple.
He was a lifelong resident of White Haven and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He retired after 20 years with the maintenance department of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
He was preceded in death by his brothers , Charles and William; and sister, Elizabeth Butler.
Surviving are his wife, the former Myrtle Getz; son, Ricky, Walnutport; daughter, Debra Lachette, White Haven; and sister, Alberta Feist, Delaware.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the Joseph E. Lehman Funeral Home, Inc., 403 Berwick St., White Haven.
Interment will be in Laurel Cemetery, White Haven.

Keller, Russell

Russell G. Keller, of West Pittston, died Saturday at Mercy Hospital, Scranton.
Born in Scranton, he was a son of the late Charles Wright and Esther ( Schmidt) Keller.
He was a graduate of Scranton Technical School.
He worked for Harper & Rowe, Scranton, for 21 years. He also worked as a manager at McDonald's, Scranton, and at the Pittston YMCA.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, West Pittston.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mary Dellario; and brother, Warren.
Surviving are his son, Charles, Scranton; stepson, Thomas Callea, Philadelphia; four grandchildren; brother, Richard, Levittown, N.Y.; and several nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday from the Donnelly-Callahan Funeral Home, West Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church.
Interment will be in Abington Hills Cemetery, Clarks Summit.

Doris H. Kelly

Doris H. Kelly, 68, of Valerie Street in Waterford, Conn., died Monday at the Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London, Conn.
Born July 28, 1931, in Plymouth, she was a daughter of the late John and Dorothy (Kovalcik) Hudacek.
She was retired in 1994 from the Lawrence and Memorial Hospital, where she had been employed as the director for neurodiagnostic services. She performed her training at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her brothers , John, Steven and Joseph; and sister, Josephine Simonitis.
Surviving are her husband, George W. Kelly, whom she married Sept. 7, 1953; daughter, Carol Hellyer, Drexel Hill; brothers , Dr. Andrew Hudacek, Morristown, N.J.; and Attorney Michael Hudacek, Plymouth; sisters , Ann Henness, of Wilkes-Barre; and Mary Miller, Levittown; and two grandchildren.
A funeral procession will assemble at 9:15 a.m. Friday at the Thomas L. Neilan & sons Funeral Home, 12 Ocean Ave., New London, and proceed to a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church in New London. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery.

KELLY, JAMES

James Joseph Kelly made his journey to heaven in the early morning hours of Oct. 29 in the arms of angels at Los Robles Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 68.
James was born July 8, 1931, in Pittston, to Joseph and Ellen Kelly in a loving home with five sisters , Anne Judge, Catherine Bender, Lois Capenegro, Sheila Walsh and JoEllen Devlin, and three brothers , Thomas, Michael and Richard Kelly. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 42 years, Edna Higgins-Kelly, along with their four children and spouses, Colleen Todd (Donald Jr.); James Jr. (Debra); Kevin (Alisa); and Lynn Levine (Allen); their 11 grandchildren, Donald III; Patrick and Kenneth Todd; Katherine, James III and Paul Kelly; Danielle, Tessa and Gage Kelly; and Bryan and Kellie Rose Levine.
Mr. Kelly retired in 1996 after 22 years of service with Smith-Kline Beecham. He has been a third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Julies Catholic Church in Newbury Park, Calif., for more than 20 years.
The family wishes to invite all of his friends to a "Celebration of Life" viewing and Rosary on Tuesday, Nov. 2, from 5 to 8 p.m., with the Rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. at Pierce brothers Valley Oaks Mortuary in Westlake Village, Calif. The funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Julies Catholic Church in Newbury Park, with the Rev. Cornelius Phelan officiating. Burial will follow at Pierce brothers Valley Oaks, Westlake Village.

Mary Elizabeth Kelly, 80, of North Gates Avenue, Kingston, died Thursday at Hospice Care of the VNA at the Heritage House, Wilkes-Barre, following an illness.
Born in Edwardsville, she was the daughter of the late Rutherford and Anne Jenkins Collett.
She was a graduate of Edwardsville High School, Bloomsburg University and College Misericorda. She did graduate studies at Bucknell University and Wilkes University.
While attending Bloomsburg University, she was an ASA soloist with the New York Metropolitan Opera Company.
She resided with her daughter, Anne Kelly, on North Gates Avenue in Kingston for the past eight years. She previously resided in Edwardsville for many years.
Before her retirement in 1977, she was employed as a school teacher for 34 years by the Wyoming Valley West School District. Earlier she was employed by Bethesda Maryland Boys School, the Tunkhannock Area School District and Edwardsville School District.
She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Alpha Rho Chapter, International Teachers Sorority, the Serve Your City Club and the Oratorio Society.
She was a life member of Bethesda Congregational Church.
An active volunteer, she did volunteer work with the American Red Cross, the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard J. Kelly, in 1988.
Surviving are her daughter, Anne Kelly, Kingston, Director of the American Heart Association; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday form the Hugh B. Hughes & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, with the Rev. Lawrence Recla, chaplain for Hospice Care of the VNA, officiating.
Interment will be in Forty Fort Cemetery.

Bernard Kemmerer, of Seal Beach, Calif., and Fullerton, Calif., died Oct. 4.
Born and reared in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Peter and Cecelia Kemmerer.
He was a 1939 graduate of GAR Memorial High School.
He was employed for 17 years by El Toro Marine Base in El Toro, Calif., before his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his son, Wayne; brother, John; and sisters , Eleanore Dybach and Dorothy Eckenrode.
Surviving are his wife, the former Catherine Ellman; sisters , Freda Ball and Verna Kennedy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted in Seal Beach. Arrangements were by Forest Lawn Mortuary in Cypress, Calif.
KEMMERER, RALPH
July 3, 1999
Ralph C. Kemmerer Sr. of Orchard Place, Forty Fort, died Saturday at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Milton and Blanche (Conner) Kemmerer.
He was a graduate of GAR Memorial High School, Wilkes-Barre.
He was employed for 30 years by the Endicott-Johnson Corp., in Johnson City, N.Y., until his retirement in 1975. He moved to Forty Fort during his retirement.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kingston where he served as head usher.
He was preceded in death by brothers , Sheldon, Herbert and Harold.
Surviving are his wife of 66 years, the former Mary Anne Hunt; a son, Ralph C. Jr., Montclair, Calif; three grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Metcalfe & Shaver Funeral Home Inc., 504 Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, with the Rev. Richard Hawley, his pastor, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Kingston.
Kern, William

William Harold Kern, of Linwood, N.J., died Feb. 5 at Hanamen Hospital, Philadelphia.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a 1949 graduate of St. Mary's High School and moved to the Linwood area in 1957. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served with the military police during the
Korean War. He retired from the Glaziers Union, Local 252. He was a member and employee of Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Linwood, and president of the Men's Club.
Surviving are his wife, Melba Dodson Kern; daughters , Judith Kern Portnoy and Colleen Kern; sons , Ronald, William and James; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brother, John.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, with entombment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing, N.J. Memorial donations may be made to the William H. KATHRYN KIETHLINE
Kathryn E. Kiethline, 90, of R.R. 2 in the Rock Hill section of Laceyville died Friday at the Carpenter Care Center in Tunkhannock.
Born Jan. 5, 1909 on Golden Hill in Windham Township in Wyoming County, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Pheobe Champion.
She was a graduate of Laceyville High School.
She was employed for more than 30 years as a bookkeeper at the Vandervort Mill in Laceyville.
She was a member on the Jenningsville United Methodist Church; the Wyoming County Historical Society; Laceyville Oldest House; the Tunkhannock Chapter of DAR, were she was a past reagent; the Northeast Reagents Club; the Tri-Co Reagents Club; and the Meshoppen Chapter No. 70 Eastern Star, were she was a past matron and a past district deputy grand matron.
She was a past member of the Wyoming County Extension Service; a 50-year member of the American Red Cross; and a member of the Montrose Camera Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the late William T. Kiethline, in 1968; and her sister, Cora Neigh.
Having no children of their own, she and her husband raised three nephews, Willis K. Bennett, of Rock Hill; Gerald E. Bennett, Tunkhannock; and the late Clark F. Bennett.
Surviving are her nephew, Gerald Johnson, Laceyville; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the Sheldon Funeral Home on Main Street in Laceyville, with the Rev. Catherine Parsons, of the Jenningsville United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will be in the North Flat Cemetery in Laceyville.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Monday. There will be an Eastern Star service at 5 p.m. Monday by the Meshoppen Chapter No. 70, Eastern Star.
