Hannah M. Hughes, of Nottingham Street, Plymouth, died Monday afternoon at her home.
She was born Oct. 22, 1935, in Wilkes-Barre, daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Roberts) Jones. She attended school in Hanover Township. She was associated with her son, Richard W., Jr., in the operation of the Rolling Stone in Larksville. She was a member of the Baptist Tabernacle, South Wilkes-Barre.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard W.; grandson, Richard W. III; and brother, Thomas.
Surviving are two daughters , Sharon Christman, West Nanticoke; Gertrude Gasey, Plymouth; sons , Richard W., Jr., Plymouth; Hugh O. and Richard W., IV, both at home; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Worthy, Wilkes-Barre; nieces and nephews; her beloved Pekingese, Cuddles.
Funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Williams Funeral Home, 114 W. Main St., Plymouth, with the Rev. William Frank officiating. Interment will be in Oak Lawn, Hanover Township. Friends may call Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Michael Hurley

Michael P. Hurley, 72, of Heather Highlands, Inkerman, Jenkins Township, died Saturday at the home of his daughter, Lynne Hurley, in West Pittston.
Born in Miners Mills, Wilkes-Barre, Sept. 5, 1926, he was son of the late James Hurley and Anna Mondulick Hurley Hosage.
He attended Wilkes-Barre schools.
He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Church, Plains.
He was last employed by Posten Taxi, Wilkes-Barre, for 35 years. He was previously employed as a salesman for 11 years and as a miner.
He was a member of the Teamsters union.
He served with the U.S. Army in the European Theater during World War II.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 558.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Helen M. Blazick, in 1997; son, Michael P. Jr., in 1982; and brothers Thomas and James Hurley.
Surviving are his daughter, Lynne Hurley, West Pittston; son, Richard, Inkerman, Jenkins Township; four grandchildren; sister, Anna Yakel, Baltimore; several nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family from the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St., Plymouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at in St. Mary's Nativity Church, Plymouth.
Interment will be in the St. Mary's Nativity Cemetery, Plymouth Township.
There will be no calling hours.

Hurst, Margaret

Margaret M. (Rowlands) Hurst, 93, formerly of Stanton Street, Wilkes- Barre, died Monday at Little Flower Manor Nursing Home, Wilkes-Barre.
Born March 5, 1907, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Hugh and Mary Ellen (Smith) Rowlands. She was a spinner for Fernbaugh Silk Mill. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 190 South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, Woman of the ELCA and Messiah Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl F.; granddaughter, Amy (Hurst) Ellis; brothers Gwilym "William" and Charles Rowlands; sisters , Dorothy Kaporch, Mary Moore, Miriam Kaporch, Dilys Rowlands and Elizabeth Rowlands.
Surviving are her son, Carl F., Wilkes-Barre; daughter, Margaret Wyda, Wilkes-Barre; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday from the Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, 465 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, with services at 10:30 a.m. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Mount Greenwood Cemetery, Trucksville. The Rev. Peter D. Kuritz and the Rev. Janell Wigen will officiate. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will go to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Wilkes-Barre; and Little Flower Manor Nursing Home, Wilkes-Barre.
Hurtt, Margaret

Margaret J. Hurtt, 90, of Castle Creek, N.Y., formerly of Plains Township, died Friday at Susquehanna Nursing Home, Johnson City, N.Y.
Born in Plains Township, she was a daughter of the late David and Mary Ann (Jervis) James. She was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School and College Misericordia, Dallas Township. She was a teacher for the Plains School District. She was a member of the Miner Congregational United Church of Christ, Wilkes-Barre.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; brothers , Thomas, Richard, David and Hayden James; sisters , Anne Williams, Edith McAvey and Catherine James.
Surviving are her brother, William James; Castle Creek, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at noon Monday from the Corcoran Funeral Home, 20 S. Main St., Plains Township, with the Rev. Wayne Shontz officiating. Interment will be in Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service Monday.
HUSTEY, ANDREW
Andrew D. Hustey, 40, of Wilkes-Barre, died Thursday as a result of a vehicular accident.
Born June 10, 1959, in Mountaintop, he was a son of Andrew and Eleanor (Mihalko) Hustey. He resided with his wife, Teresa (Rallo) Hustey, and daughters , Tara and Deanna. He was a member of the Church of St. Therese in Wilkes-Barre.
He was a 1977 graduate of Bishop Hoban High School, a 1981 graduate of King's College, where he earned a bachelor's degree in accounting and business administration, and a 1987 graduate of the Central Atlantic School of Commercial Lending at Bucknell University.
As senior vice president of Mericle Commercial Real Estate Services, he supervised the entire Brokerage Division of Mericle Commercial, including regional offices in Wilkes-Barre, Stroudsburg and Williamsport. A licensed real estate broker, he was an industrial specialist in the Society of Industrial & Office Realtors. Before joining Mericle, he spent more than 12 years in commercial banking in Northeastern Pennsylvania .
He was a board member of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northeastern Pennsylvania , an adjunct faculty member of Luzerne County Community College, a former member of the Catholic Youth Center of Wyoming Valley and the center's Junior Basketball Officials, a retired certified PIAA basketball official, and a member of the CYC Golf Committee, the chambers of commerce of Greater Wilkes-Barre, Scranton and Greater Hazleton, and the Small Business Counsel of the Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce. He chaired and co-chaired annual fund campaigns for the Catholic Youth Center of Wyoming Valley, King's College and the United Way, and was chairman elect to Bishop Hoban Alumni Phone-A-Thon.
His professional memberships and affiliations include the Society of Industrial & Office Realtors, the Tri-State Commercial & Industrial Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors and the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors. He was a member of the Robert Morris Associates and the Wilkes-Barre Democratic Executive Board, and a former member of the American Bankers Association.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, wife and daughters , are his brother, David Hustey, of Wilkes-Barre, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday from the Desiderio Funeral Home, 2 Academy Road, Marion Terrace, Hanover Township, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Church of St. Therese. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Hanover Township.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
Memorial donations may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northeastern Pennsylvania , or the Wyoming Valley Catholic Youth Center, both in Wilkes-Barre, or to a scholarship fund for his daughters at Mellon Bank.
The CYC Golf Committee and Wyoming Valley Basketball Officials Association will form an honor guard at the church entrance before the funeral Mass.
HUTCHINSON, MARTHA

Martha (Pinazek) Hutchinson, 83, of Sherman Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Monday at her home.
Born June 6, 1916, in Nanticoke, she was a daughter of the late John and (Agnes) Pinazek.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Darius Y. Hutchinson; and 11 brothers and sisters .
Surviving are sons , Robert Hutchinson, Staten Island, N.Y.; and David Hutchinson, Wilkes-Barre; daughters , Barbara (Hutchinson) Margolis, Yardley; and Patricia Hutchinson, Pottstown; a sister, Sophie Zapolski, Freemont, Calif.; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private.
Interment will be at St. Mary's Lithuanian Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Salvation Army.
Arrangements are by the Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, 465 S. Main St., Wilkes Barre.
ANNE ISTVAN
Anne T. Istvan, of North Washington Street in the North End section of Wilkes-Barre, and a recent guest at Manorcare Health Service in Kingston, died Friday at Manorcare.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anne Estock Istvan.
She was a member of Sacred Heart/St. John's Parish Community in North Wilkes-Barre.
She resided in Forest Hills, N.Y., for 45 years where she was employed by Globe Security Company, New York City, as a security guard. She retired in 1976 and returned to Wilkes-Barre.
She was preceded in death by her sisters , Margaret Brown, in 1993; Helen Carvin, in 1994; and brother, Cyril B. Istvan, in 1996.
Private funeral services will be at the John V. Morris Funeral Home, 625 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, followed by interment in St. Mary's Cemetery in Hanover Township.
There will be no calling hours.
There will be a Memorial Mass at 4 p.m. Saturday, January 23, at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 415 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre.

Della E. Jabers of Washington Square Apartments, Wilkes-Barre, died Sunday at Wilkes-Barre Mercy Hospital.
Born May 30, 1920, in Plymouth, she was a daughter of the late Ignatius and Petronella (Serafin) Juba.
She was a 1938 graduate of Plymouth High School.
Along with her late husband, Samuel, she was the owner/operator of the Silver Top Diner for 45 years prior to her retirement.
She was a member of St. Mary's Antiochian Orthodox Church in Wilkes-Barre.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel; a brother, Edward; and sisters , Stacia Segar and Peola Conti.
Surviving are her son, Robert S., Wilkes-Barre; two grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Blanche, Emanski, Swoyersville; a brother, Frank Juba, Nanticoke; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the Mamary-Durkin Funeral Service, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre, with services at 11:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Antiochian Orthodox Church.
Interment will be in the parish Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Jabyac, Nicholas

Nicholas Jabyac Jr., 67, of Gravel Street, Parsons section of Wilkes-Barre, died Sunday at his home.
Born Sept. 17, 1932, in Hanover Township, he was a son of the late Nicholas and Anna (Peck) Jabyac. He attended Hanover Township schools and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the
Korean War. He was a machinist at Inter Metro Industries Corp. He a member of St. Dominic's Church, Wilkes-Barre, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5267, Hanover Township.
He was preceded in death by his son, Nicholas; and sister, Mildred Shypulefski.
Surviving are his wife of 32 years, the former Marie Evangelisti; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday from the E. Blake Collins Funeral Home, 159 George Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in St. Dominic's Church.
