Mary A. (Milazzo) Hebda, 62, of Rutter Avenue, Kingston, died Sunday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital following an illness.
Born in Wyoming, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Marranca Milazzo.
She attended Wyoming High School.
She previously resided in Plymouth and was a resident of Kingston for the past 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her son, John W. Hebda, in 1983; and brother, August Milazzo, in 1986.
Surviving are her husband, John Hebda; sisters , Regina Lawson and Grace Merlino, both of Hudson, Plains Township; Rose Kaskiel, Plains; Angeline Mattus, Spotswood, N.J.; brothers , Carmen Milazzo, Lake Silkworth, Lehman Township; Charles Milazzo, Dupont; John Milazzo, Spotswood, N.J.; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday from the Hugh B. Hughes & Son, Inc., Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, with the Rev. Michael Shambora, pastor of Wyoming United Methodist Church, Wyoming, officiating.

Hedden, Dorothy

Dorothy T. Hedden, 87, of Dallas, died Wednesday at the Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas.
Born March 20, 1912, in Newport Township, she was a daughter of the late Thomas W. and Fannie (Womelsdorf) Turner. She was a 1929 graduate of Newport Township High School and 1933 graduate of Wilson College, Chambersburg.
She was a member of the Dallas United Methodist Church, a board member of Wilson College Alumnae Association, and a member of the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital Auxiliary and the Westmoreland Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymon R. Hedden; and brothers , Ray W. and Thomas J. Turner.
Surviving are her son, Carl T. Hedden, Dallas; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday from the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home, 140 N. Main Street, Shavertown, with the Rev. William D. Lewis, officiating. Interment will be in Newport Center Cemetery, Newport Township. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Saturday. Memorial donations may be made to the Dallas United Methodist Church, Wyoming Seminary, or Wilson College.
Ruth Heeter

Ruth M. Heeter, 75, of Kingston died Friday at Penn State Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
Born Feb. 20, 1923, in Luzerne, she was daughter of the late Howard and Rachel Traver.
She was a lifelong resident of the Wyoming Valley.
She was employed by Rea & Derrick Drug Store, Edwardsville.
She was a member of Bethesda Congregational Church, Edwardsville.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Traver, and a sister, Alberta Kropa.
Surviving are her husband, Raymond L. Heater; sons , Robert L. McDougal and George T. Krout, both of Wilkes-Barre; Wesley Krout, Edwardsville; Howard Krout, Neumarkt, Germany; David Krout, at home; a daughter, Joyce Walko, Greenville, S.C.; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday from the Kopicki Funeral Home, 263 Zerbey Ave., Kingston, with the Rev. Loren T. Swartz, pastor of Bethesda Congregational Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Franklin Township.

HELFRICH, IRENE

Irene C. Helfrich, 91, of Lee Park Towers, Hanover Township, died Monday at the Birchwood Nursing Center, Nanticoke.
Born June 25, 1908, in Larksville, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Palagia (Malinski) Masiejczyk.
She attended Larksville Borough schools.
She resided in Forty Fort prior to moving to Lee Park more than 20 years ago.
She was a member of St. Aloysius Church, Lee Park, and its Altar and Rosary Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J.; a son, Thomas H.; and brothers and sisters .
Surviving are nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday from the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St., Plymouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Aloysius Church, Lee Park.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends are invited to attend the mass at St. Aloysius Church.
HENRY, ANNA

Anna Henry, of Wilkes-Barre, died Friday at the Heritage House in Wilkes-Barre.
Born Sept. 24, 1911, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna (Mechler) Henry.
She was a graduate of St. Nicholas High School and had been employed as a seamstress in the local garment industry for many years.
She was a member of St. Nicholas Church on South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre and the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.
Surviving are her sister, Dorothy Henry, Washington , D.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers , Edwin and John; and sisters , Agnes Henry and Helen Lauer.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Monday from the Walter W. Lisman and Son Funeral Home, 233 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre, with a funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Nicholas Church. Interment will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery in Shavertown.

Marie A. Hergert, a former resident of the North End Section of Wilkes-Barre, a resident of Myrtle Street, Hanover Township, died Thursday at Penn State Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of Leonard J. and Marie A. Gdovin Sulzinski, of Wilkes-Barre.
She was a 1966 graduate of Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, and the Wilkes-Barre City School of Practical Nursing.
She was a member of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, Lee Park section of Hanover Township.
She received her Pennsylvania license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1968.
Since 1981, she was employed by Penn State Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center as a practical nurse.
She was previously employed by the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital from 1968 to 1981.
Surviving in addition to her parents, are her husband, John, at home; a son Jeffrey, Olympia, Wash.; a daughter, Jennifer M. Wengzen, West Nanticoke; a brother, Dr. Michael A. Sulzinski, Scranton; sisters , Regina M. Bria and Barbara T. Lowe, both of Wilkes-Barre; one grandson; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 8:45 a.m. Saturday from the John V. Morris Funeral Home, 625 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, with a funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church.
Interment will be in Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Cemetery, Dallas.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday.

Mary Heylek, 87, of Butler Street and formerly of North Main Street, both in the North End section of Wilkes-Barre, died Thursday at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Hrivnak) Kovalik. She worked in the garment industry throughout the Wyoming Valley for several years and worked for the former Wilkes-Barre Lace Mill. She was a member of the Sacred Heart-Saint John's Parish Community, North Wilkes-Barre and the International Ladies Garment Workers Union of America.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Andrew Kovalik; and sister, Margaret Grimaila.
Surviving are her son, John Heylek, Wilkes-Barre Township; daughters , Maxie Degnan, with whom she resided; and Margaret Susa, Bethlehem; sisters ; Ann Caruth, North Haven, Conn.; and Mildred Mycek, Wilkes-Barre; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Monday from the John V. Morris Funeral Home, 625 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre; with a funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, N. Helen Heylek, 71, of Crystal Street in the Hanover Green section of Hanover Township, died of a brief illness Thursday at her home.
Born in the Korn Krest section of Hanover Township, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Mary Yanoshak Kulmatiski.
She was a member of Holy Transfiguration Church in the Hanover section of Nanticoke and attended Hanover Township schools.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; son, Joseph; and brothers , Stephen (Spike), Andrew (Gump) and Harry.
Surviving are her sons , Frank, Nanticoke; and Henry, Jr., Hope Mills, N.C.; daughter, Mary Ann Potsko, Korn Krest; eight grandchildren; brothers , Stephen Yanoshak, Korn Krest; John Yanoshak, Hanover Green; Russell Yanoshak, Ashley; Michael Kulmatiski, Connecticut; and Theodore Kulmatiski, Lyndwood, Hanover Township; sisters , Mary Brownlee, California; and Anna Madaj, Edwardsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday from the Grontkowski Funeral Home P.C., 51-53 W. Green St., Nanticoke, with Divine Liturgy at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Transfiguration Church in the Hanover section of Nanticoke.
Interment will be in the parish cemetery in Nanticoke.

JOHN HINCHCLIFFE
May 1, 1999
John A. Hinchcliffe, 69, of Benton Township, with a mailing address of RR 4, Benton, died Saturday at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre, where he was a patient since Feb. 12. He was in ill health for the past eight years.
Born Aug. 26, 1929, in Nanticoke, he was the son of the late Clifford Howard Hinchcliffe and Gertrude Hannah (Snyder) Hinchcliffe.
He was a 1947 graduate of Benton High School and resided in Benton Township since 1954.
He worked at the Magee Carpet Co. in Bloomsburg for 22 years. He later worked for the sewage plant in the municipality of Bloomsburg for eight years, before retiring in 1982.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are his daughters , Carol A. Miller, RR 4, Benton; Linda M. Long, Benton; Nancy L. Fricke, Scottsdale, Ariz.; brother, William Hinchcliffe, Philadelphia; and seven grandchildren.
Private funeral services will be at the convenience of the family.
