Doblix, Mary

Mary A. Doblix, 83, of Skidmore Street, Hudson section of Plains Township, died Wednesday in the Hospice Inpatient Unit of Mercy Hospital.
Born in the Hudson section of Plains Township, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Antoinette (Krett) Kucek. She was a graduate of Wilkes-Barre Business College. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, Hudson.
She was preceded in death by her sisters , Lottie Bohunko; Stella Mazur; and Blanche Swan; and brothers , John Kucek and Michael Kucek Jr.
Surviving are her husband, Edward J., to whom she was married for 51 years; daughter, Annette Doblix Klemp, River Falls, Wis.; son, Edward F., Hanover Township; sister, Helen Castellani, Hudson; brother, Frank Kucek, Plymouth Township; and one grandson.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday from the Mark V. Yanaitis Funeral Home, 55 Stark St., Plains, with a funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Hudson. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
DOMANOSKY, LEONARD
October 28, 1999
Leonard C. Domanosky, Murray Street, Forty Fort, died Thursday in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
He was born and raised in Plymouth and lived most of his life in Forty Fort.
He was a graduate of Plymouth High School.
He was employed as a maintenance man at Nelson Furniture, Kingston, until his retirement in 1973.
He served as a vice president of the West Side Flower Club and was a member of Nelson's Bowling League.
He was a member of Holy Name/St. Mary's Church, Swoyersville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; a son, Robert; brothers , Joseph and Andrew; and sisters , Mary Tkach, Rose Walsh and Adele Semanek.
Surviving are his son, Carl, Pittsgrove, N.J.; four grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday from the Joseph L. Wroblewski Funeral Home, 1442 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Name/St. Mary's Church.
Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Dallas.
Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday.
DOMBROSKI, EDWIN
November 9, 1999
Edwin R. Dombroski, 77, of Spotswood, N.J., formerly of Nanticoke, died Nov. 9 at the McCarrick Care Center in the Somerset section of Franklin Township, N.J.
Born Aug. 16, 1922, in Nanticoke, he was a son of the late Felix and Eleanor Dombroski. He was raised in Nanticoke and was a 1941 graduate of Nanticoke High School.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, stationed in Alaska.
Upon his return from the Army, he worked at Signal Stat in Nanticoke for many years until he retired and moved to Spotswood.
Surviving are his wife, the former Rose Addonizio; daughter, Patricia Geyer, East Brunswick, N.J.; brother, Gerard, Hollywood, Fla.; sisters , Eleanor Dodge, Chatham, N.J.; and Stephanie Zimalzak, Glen Lyon, Newport Township.
A Mass of Resurrection was celebrated at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Spotswood. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park in South Brunswick, N.J.
Rezem Funeral Home in East Brunswick was in charge of arrangements.
Dougherty, William F.
March 9, 2000
William F. Dougherty, of East Green Street, Nanticoke, died Thursday at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
A lifelong resident of Nanticoke, he was a son of the late Joseph and Marion (Conroy) Dougherty. He worked for Servalite Corp. He was a graduate of St. Vincent's High School, Plymouth, and was a member of St. Francis Church, Nanticoke. He was a sergeant with the U.S. Marine Corps from 1957 to 1960, a grand commander of the Alhambra Alhamar 4 and was a 4th degree knight of the Bishop William J. Hafey Council 302.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph.
Surviving are his wife, the former Karen Stadulis; sons , William II, Glen Lyon, Newport Township; Joseph, Patrick and James, all of Nanticoke; daughters , Molly Makowski, Kingston; Mary, Nanticoke; and Karen Durkin, Hawaii; grandchildren; brothers , James, Nanticoke and Thomas, Dallas; sisters , Mary Flanley, Allentown; Jane Kneidinger and Margaret Evans, both of Kingston.
Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Monday from the Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 22 Prospect St., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Francis Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. The Alhambra will conduct services at 7:15 p.m. Sunday.
Duda, Catherine

Catherine "Gram" Duda, of East Overbrook Road, Shavertown, died Friday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Larksville, she was a daughter of the late John and Julia (Korshalla) Shultz. Formerly of Kingston, she lived in Shavertown since 1972. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Larksville. She formerly worked for Larksville Fashions.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; brother, Frank; and sister, Josephine Nervitt.
Surviving are her son, Edward, Lewistown; daughters , Paula Feeney, Shavertown; and Theresa Homza, Larksville; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Hahn, Larksville.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Monday from the Andrew Strish Funeral Home, Larksville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church. Interment will be in the parish Cemetery, Dallas. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Monsignor John Masakowski will conduct a rosary service at 7 p.m. Sunday. Theresa Dudock

Theresa Claire Dudock, 74, of Reservoir Street, Georgetown, Wilkes-Barre Township, died Friday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital following an illness.
Born in Georgetown, Wilkes-Barre Township, April 3, 1924, she was daughter of the late John and Gertrude Pickett Johnston Dudock.
She attended St. Joseph's and Wilkes-Barre Township schools.
Before retiring, she was employed by the Kirby Memorial Health Center, Wilkes-Barre, for 35 years.
She was a member of the Chapel at St. Joseph's Friary, East Northampton Street, Georgetown, Wilkes-Barre Township.
She was preceded in death by her brother, John G. (Jack) Dudock, in 1991.
Surviving are a niece (adopted daughter), Tracy, with whom she resided; brothers William, Friendsville; Ned, Wilkes-Barre; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday from the McLaughlin Funeral Service, 142 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre, with a funeral Mass at 12 p.m. in the Chapel at St. Joseph's Friary.
Interment will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
DURBIN, HARRIET

Harriet Hays Durbin died Saturday at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Glasser in Shavertown, Kingston Township.
Born June 26, 1902, in Mt. Pleasant Township in Westmoreland County, she was the daughter of the late Jess M. and Mary Belle Hoyman Hays.
She graduated from St. Xavier's Academy and attended Allegheny College.
She taught third and fourth grade at the Mammoth School in Mammoth.
She married Willard N. Durbin in 1924 and resided in Plymouth for seven years before moving to Shavertown in 1935.
She was a member of the Shavertown United Methodist Church. She was a former member of the Keller Class and Ruth Circle of the parish and the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband and daughter, Mary Lou Bucan.
Surviving, in addition to her daughter, Anna Mae Glasser, are her son, Willard H. Durbin, Michigan and Arkansas; sister, Ann Stairs, Acme, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Shavertown United Methodist Church, Pioneer Avenue, Shavertown, with the Rev. Jan Clark officiating.
Interment will be in Fern Knoll Cemetery in Dallas.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday.
Memorial donations may be made to the Ruth Circle of Shavertown United Methodist Church or to Hospice Community Care in Kingston.
Arrangements are by Hugh Jones Funeral Home in Kingston.

Alfred Lawrence Dymond, of South Auburn died Wednesday at Tyler Memorial Hospital in Tunkhannock.
Funeral arrangements are pending from the Nulton Funeral Home on state Route 309 in Beaumont.
Lanning, Edward

Edward E. Lanning Sr., 59, of Shickshinny, died Sunday, at the Towanda Hospital due to injuries he received from a motorcycle accident in Dushore.
Born Sept. 3, 1940, in Nanticoke, he was a son of the late Ernest and Devota (Longenberger) Lanning. He worked for the former Stoeckler Trucking Co., Leslie Fay Co., and Trion Industries Inc. He was a member of the Calvary Bible Chapel, Muhlenburg, and the Sylvania Lodge 354 F & AM, Shickshinny.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Eloise Benscoter. His brother, Donald L. also died in the motorcycle accident.
Surviving are his wife of 30 years, the former Madeline Walker; sons , Edward, Jr., Shickshinny; and Gary, Shickshinny; daughters , Lisa, Larksville; and Amy Stubblebine, Shickshinny; five grandchildren; brothers , Richard, Brandywine; Curtiss, Georgia; and Robert, Hunlock Creek; sisters , Lorraine Janusziewicz, Aston; Patricia Boyer, Berwick; Wanda Chaffinch, Delaware; Gloria Baer, Shickshinny; Yvonne Farrell, Shickshinny; Sandra Thorne, Plymouth; Barbara Joline; Berwick; Darlene Neary, Nanticoke; Sheila Sheetz, Benton; Linda Fritz, Berwick; and Deborah Lanning, Hazleton.
