Barbara A. Derbis, 61, of Loomis Street in Wilkes-Barre, died Friday at her home.
Funeral arrangements are pending from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home on Park Avenue and South Street in Wilkes-Barre.
BARRY DEREMER
Barry L. DeRemer, of Gilligan Street, Wilkes-Barre died Sunday at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Nanticoke, he was the son of Dorothy B. Gray DeRemer, Lee Park, Hanover Township, and the late Herbert DeRemer.
He was a graduate of Hanover Area High School and was employed by the U.S. Postal Service, Wilkes-Barre.
He was a member of Christ United Presbyterian Church, Lee Park Avenue, Hanover Township. He was a former member of the Wilkes-Barre Killer Bees.
Surviving, in addition to his mother , are his wife, the former Mary Ann Umlah; sisters , Donna Belawicz, Hanover Township; Bonnie Masters and Faye Gray, both of Hanover Township; brother, Raymond DeRemer, Wyoming; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, Park Avenue and South Street, Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. Robert A. Boyar, pastor of the Christ United Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lake Township.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
CONSTANCE DEROLF
Constance M. (Miller) Derolf, of Terrace Drive in Mountaintop died Tuesday at Davis Manor in Mountaintop.
Born Jan. 22, 1929, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Sterling and Vada Kile Miller.
She was a 1946 graduate of E.L. Meyers High School.
She was formerly employed by Planters Peanuts in Wilkes-Barre.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Mountaintop.
Surviving are her husband, Walter Derolf, with whom she would have celebrated 40 years of marriage Jan. 17; children, Pamela Sawicki, Mountaintop; Dwight Derolf, White Haven; and Mark Derolf, Mountaintop; five grandsons; brothers , Richard Miller, East Liverpool, Ohio; Clayton Miller, Sears Port, Maine; and Jerry Miller, Euclid, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday from the Mamary-Durkin Funeral Service, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre.
Interment will be in St. Adalbert's Cemetery in Wright Township.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

DERWIN, JOHN

John J. Derwin, a former resident of Larksville and Plymouth, died Sunday at the Mercy Health Care Center, Newport Township, where he resided for several years.
Born in Larksville, he was the son of the late James T. and Stacia (Bonesky) Derwin, Sr.
He was a graduate of Larksville High School, class of 1942.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and Korea, serving in Guam, Iceland and Japan.
He was employed at Alta Products, Hanover Township; the Hudson Coal Co., Wilkes-Barre; and University Properties, Seattle.
He was a member of the Church of St. Vincent dePaul, Plymouth; its Holy Name Society; the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1425, Plymouth; the Donegal Society of Greater Wilkes-Barre; and a life member of the Knights of Columbus Council 11901.
He was preceded in death by his sisters , Ella Schacht and Elizabeth Mutone; brothers , Henry, James and Paul.
Surviving are his brothers , Thomas, Wyandotte, Okla.; Andrew, Little Ferry, N.J.; William, Seattle; Joseph, Plymouth; sisters , Blanche Johns, Mechanicsburg; Aleatha Domin, Plymouth; Peggy Bingham, Louisiana ; nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday in the Church of St. Vincent dePaul, Church Street, Plymouth, with the Rev. Joseph Houston officiating.
DESIDERIO, JAMES

James M. Desiderio Sr., 76, of Academy Road in Marion Terrace, Hanover Township, died Wednesday at his home.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Martizano and Maria Annicchiarico Desiderio.
He was an owner-partner of Mart Desiderio & sons Construction Co. in Larksville, a member of the Bricklayers Union Local 5, and a member of the Masonry Contractors of Northeast Pennsylvania Assoc.. He was owner of the Desiderio Funeral Home, Inc., of Wilkes-Barre and Mountaintop, and the James M. Desiderio Funeral Home, Inc., in Marion Terrace.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving as a Motorcycle military Police officer in Africa, Italy and Germany. He was a member of Holy Rosary Church, the parish Holy Name Association, and the Usher's Club. He was also a member of St. Aloysius Church and Ushers Club.
He was a life member of the St. Paulina Social Club and Unico, a member of the Wyoming Valley Chapter of the Italian American War Veterans of Luzerne County, the sons of Italy in Wilkes-Barre, and American Legion Post 609.
He served many years on the Wilkes-Barre Zoning Board, the Glen Miller Society, and the Wyoming Valley Country Club in Wilkes-Barre. He was an honorary life member of Knights of Columbus Council 984 in Plymouth, and the Bishop William J. Hafey Assembly of the Fourth Degree.
He was an owner-partner of the Wilkes-Barre Baron Semipro Basketball Team, and an associate member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 43 Frank Albert Memorial in Wyoming.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Sadie DeGiusto; and brother, Nicholas.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, the former Elizabeth "Libby" Cecere; sons , Martin N. and Michael J., both of Wilkes-Barre; Samuel A., funeral director, Mountaintop; James M., Jr.; eight grandchildren; sisters , Nancy Walker, Michaelene Baranski, Josephine Ostazewski and Rita Rovinski, all of Hanover Township; Maryette DiNicola, Toms River, N.J.; and Florence McCue, Hanover, N.J.; brothers , Anthony, Bethlehem; Basil, Larksville; and Martin, Mountaintop; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Rosary Church on Park Avenue in Wilkes-Barre. Internment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum in Hanover Township.
Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the James M. Desiderio Funeral Home, Inc., 2 Academy Road, Marion Terrace, Hanover Township. The Knights of Columbus will meet at 7 p.m. at the Marion Terrace Funeral Home.

DESORMO, DOLORES
July 9, 1999
Dolores V. (Carangelo) Desormo, of Harris Hill Road in Shavertown, Kingston Township, died Friday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Agnes Dougherty Carangelo.
She resided in Lehman for the past 36 years and was employed as a certified nursing assistant at the Mercy Center in Dallas.
Surviving are her daughters , Dolores Brennan, Shavertown; Janet Desormo, Lehman; brothers , Anthony Carangelo, Snellville, Ga.; Eugene Carangelo, Cherry Hill, N.J.; Albert Carangelo, Hammonton, N.J.; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Blessed Sacrament Chapel at Mercy Center, with the Rev. Francis Kulig officiating.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Andrew Strish Funeral Home, 11 Wilson St., Larksville.
MARIE DETERICK
Marie K. (Summers) Deterick, 84, formerly of Martzville Road, Berwick, died Friday at the Grandview Health Homes, Danville, where she resided since May, 1993.
Born Dec. 23, 1914, in Columbia County, she was the daughter of the late Luther P. and Dolly V. Myers Summers.
As a young woman she worked at a canning factory in Bloomsburg; the former W.T. Grant Store, Berwick; and Berwick Industries. In 1980 she retired from the former Keefer Army Navy Store, Ames Plaza, Berwick. She also babysat and did domestic work.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Berwick, and attended St. John's Lutheran Church, Espy.
She volunteered for over 25 years at the Berwick Hospital gift shop.
She was a member of the former Martzville Homemakers Club; a life member of the Board of Directors of the Columbia County Unit of the American Cancer Society; and she served as Briar Creek Township chairwoman for many years.
She was the second recipient of the Ray J. Calabrese Memorial Award in 1976.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Theron V., in April, 1979.
Surviving are her sons , Joseph L. Deterick, Bloomsburg; James L., at home; daughter, Mary Kay Keil, Berwick; brother, Luther E. Summers, Berwick; sisters , Betty I. Norton, Wilkes-Barre; Lois P. McDevitt, Bloomsburg; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and several step great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren;
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, 2575 Old Berwick Road, Espy, with the Rev. Gordon E. Smith officiating and the Rev. Dr. A. Michael Boggs, of Grace Lutheran Church, Berwick, assisting. Interment will be in Hidlay Cemetery, Bloomsburg.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the church.

Lanning, Donald

Donald L. Lanning, 69, of Town Hill, died Sunday at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, due to injuries he received from a motorcycle accident in Dushore.
Born Aug. 2, 1930, in Berwick, he was a son of the late Ernest and Devota (Longenberger) Lanning. He was a special guard for the Eastman Kodak Co., Rochester, N.Y. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the
Korean War. He was a member of the Town Hill United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post 0945, the Pennsylvania Sheriff's Association and the National Rifle Association.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mary Alice Wandel; and sister, Eloise Benscoter. His brother, Edward E., also died in the motorcycle accident.
Surviving are his sons , Donald G., Sinking Spring; Ronald D., Sodus, N.Y.; Mark B., Nescopeck; and Joseph E., Newark, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; brothers , Richard, Brandywine; Curtiss, Georgia; and Robert, Hunlock Creek; and sisters , Lorraine Janusziewicz, Aston; Patricia Boyer, Berwick; Wanda Chaffinch, Delaware; Gloria Baer, Shickshinny; Yvonne Farrell, Shickshinny; Sandra Thorne, Plymouth; Barbara Joline, Berwick; Darlene Neary, Nanticoke; Sheila Sheetz, Benton RD; Linda Fritz, Berwick; and Deborah Lanning, Hazleton.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday from the Town Hill United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Barbara Woodrig officiating. Interment will be in Benscoter Cemetery, Muhlenburg. JEFF DOBINICK
Jeff Dobinick, of Laurel Drive, Oakhill, Dallas, died Sunday.
Born in Syracuse, N.Y., he was the son of Dennis J. and Ellen Kinney Dobinick, Dallas.
He resided in Dallas for the past 30 years and was a graduate of Lake-Lehman High School.
He was employed for Contractors Group Inc., West Wyoming, for the past several years.
He was a member of the Lehman Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Association and served as the current captain. He was also a member of the Back Mountain Fire Association.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Catherine Dobinick; and maternal grandparents, Francis and Ellen Kinney.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are sisters , Barbara K. Milks, Dallas; Kelly E. Lyons, Sweet Valley; Vicki J. Gromel, Harveys Lake; brother, Dennis B. Dobinick, Loyalville; nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services will be at the convenience of the family from the Metcalfe & Shaver Funeral Home, Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, with the Rev. Joseph P. Rafferty of Our Lady of Victory Church, Harveys Lake, officiating.
Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Park, Franklin Township.
There will be no calling hours.
