Debbie Mae (Ostroski) Davis, of Edwardsville, died Sunday at her home.
Born in Kingston, she was the daughter of John Leonard Ostroski Sr., of Edwardsville, and the late Alma Mae (Heller) Ostroski.
She attended West Side Area Vocational Technical School and was a life resident of Edwardsville.
She was formerly employed by Nelson Furniture Co., Kingston, and the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
She was a foster parent for Luzerne County Children and Youth Services, Wilkes-Barre, and was a member of Bethesda Congregational Church, Edwardsville.
She was preceded in death by brothers , John, Steven and Thomas.
Surviving, in addition to her Father , are sons , Michael and Brian Davis, at home; companion, Thaddeus Pokaladic, at home; brothers , George Ostroski, Kingston; Joseph Ostroski, Lehman; William Ostroski, Edwardsville; Michael Ostroski, Tunkhannock; sisters , Judy Ostroski Newhart, Edwardsville; Carol Ostroski Carroll, Dallas; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the Edwards and Russin Funeral Home, Inc., 717 Main St., Edwardsville, with the Rev. Loren Swaitz, of Bethesda Congregational Church, Edwardsville, officiating.
Interment will be in Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Walter Nelson Davis, of East Center Street in Shavertown, died Tuesday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Funeral arrangements are pending from the Mamary-Durkin Funeral Service, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre.
Leonard Davis
May 22, 1998
Leonard T. Davis, of Hazle Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Friday at Hospice Community Care Unit, Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, July 28, 1917, he was the son of the late William and Julia Cosgrove Davis.
He graduated from Hanover High School in 1935 and attended Wilkes University.
He served with the U.S. Army during World War II in the 32nd Division and received the Bronze Star.
He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 28 years, retiring as the superintendent of window services.
He was also associated with William Davis and sons Machine Shop, Wilkes-Barre, and the American Red Cross.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Wilkes-Barre.
He and his wife, the former Mary Lenahan, would have celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on June 24, 1998.
He was preceded in death by brothers William and Aaron.
Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters Kathryn, Wilkes-Barre; Mrs. Michael (Molly) Swiontek, Mountaintop; Mrs. Ann Marcinkiewicz, Wilkes-Barre; son, James, Wilkes-Barre; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; brothers Thomas, Wilkes-Barre; Alvin, Scotts, Mich.; sister, Mrs. Peggy Scott, Wilkes-Barre; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday from the Mamary-Durkin Funeral Service, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church.
Interment will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.

DAWE, A. GORDON
November 29, 1999
A. Gordon Dawe, 77, of Meeker Road in Lehman Township, died Monday at his home.
Born June 27, 1922, in Carbonear, Newfoundland, he was a son of the late Walter and Ethel Mae Dawe.
He graduated from St. James Academy in Carbonear, Bishop Feild College in St. John's in Newfoundland, and the University of Toronto, with a bachelor's degree in economics. He also graduated from Penn State University as a paralegal.
He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II as a radio air gunner with rank of pilot officer.
He was employed by the Cities Service Oil Co. in Tulsa, Okla., as a wholesale salesman and assistant division manager.
He was a member of the American Petroleum Institute and the Lehman United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday school.
He was preceded in death by his brothers , John, Harvey and Wallace; and sisters , Olive Dawe and Ruth Dawe.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, the former Judith Simms; sons , William G. and Christopher S., and grandson, John Dawe, all of Lehman Township; brothers , Wilfred G., St. John's, Newfoundland; and Cyril A., Edinburgh, Scotland; sister, Joyce McGrath, St. John's, Newfoundland; nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at a time to be announced at the Lehman Center Cemetery in Lehman Township. There will be no calling hours.

Decker, Stephen
January 12, 2000
Stephen Matthew Decker Jr., 84, of Mildred, died Wednesday at the Memorial Hospital in Towanda.
Born April 13, 1915, in Lopez, he was a son of the late Stephen M., Sr., and Kathryn (Marhevka) Decker.
He graduated from high school and worked in the Civilian Conversation Corps camp in Peekskill, N.Y., for several years before entering the Merchant Marines, where he was a commander and chief engineer.
During World War II, he joined the U.S. Navy and was commissioned as an ensign.
After the war, he began working in the cutting room at the Endicott Johnson Shoe Manufacturing Co. in Mildred. He retired as a foreman, retiring in 1979 with more than 30 years of service.
He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Mildred, the White Ash Land Association and American Legion McDermott Post 452 in Mildred.
Surviving are his wife, the former Annetta Serafini, whom he married May 7, 1945; sons , Eugene "Jim" Decker, Mildred; and Michael D. Decker, Dushore; five grandchildren; and sister, Susan Machinowksy, Jersey City, N.J.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Michael; brothers , Joseph and Andrew; and sisters , Mary Hill and Catherine Bird.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church. The Rev. Michael B. Harris will officiate. Interment will be in the adjoining parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
Graveside military services will be accorded by members of American Legion McDermott Post 452. Members are asked to assemble and pass in review at the funeral home at 7 this evening.

EMIL DEDDY
Emil A. Deddy, of Centre Street in Freeland died Friday at Hazleton General Hospital.
Born in Freeland, he was the son of the late John and Mary Ondeck Deddy.
He was the owner of Emil's Men's Shop in Freeland for many years.
He was a member of St. John's R.C. Church in Freeland, and the Freeland Elks B.P.O.E. #1145.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Boroski; brother, George; and sister, Mary Sefing.
Surviving are his sisters , Margaret Smudin, Elizabeth Sweet and Irene Komishock, all of Freeland; brother, Thomas, Somerville, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday from Beltz-Petrilli Funeral Home, 235 E. Broad St., Hazleton with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. John's R.C. Church in Freeland.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Butler Township.

A Lodge of Sorrow will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday by the Freeland Elks Lodge.
DeFAZIO, FURIE
December 13, 1999
Furie R. DeFazio, 90, a resident of Old Forge Manor, formerly of Springbrook Avenue, Moosic, died Monday at the Mercy Hospice, Scranton.
Born Sept. 16, 1909, in Old Forge, he was a son of the late Antonio and Maria (Grecco) DeFazio.
He lived in Moosic and Old Forge most of his life, and also resided in New Jersey for 20 years.
He was employed by the family-owned DeFazio Ice and Coal Co. and DeFazio Amusements. Before his retirement, he was employed by DeFazio Express Inc., Moosic.
He was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Old Forge.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Ruth Rohland; second wife, the former Anna Hovan; sisters , Lucy Fulginiti, Rose Mastronardi and Nancy Yarosh; and brothers , Charles, Frank, Benny, Joseph, Palmer and William.
Surviving are his sons , Warren A., Lady Lake, Fla.; and Fred, Westfield, N.J.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday from the Palermo and Zawacki Funeral Home Inc., 409 N. Main St., Old Forge, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Old Forge.
Interment will be in the Old Forge Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

Elizabeth "Betty" (Howell) DeFazio, 75, formerly of Gedding Street, Avoca, died Sunday at her son's home.
Born Dec. 22, 1923, in Pittston, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Rose (Grier) Howell.
She was a member of St. Mary's Church, Avoca.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; brother Raymond Howell; and sister, Mary Lombardo.
Surviving are her sons , Joseph, Moosic; William, Springbrook, Covington Township; and Michael, Avoca; brother, John Howell, Mount Pocono; sisters , Helen Lampman, Avoca; and Rose Mary Barnhart, Sarasota, Fla.; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in St. Mary's Church, Avoca, with the Rev. Joseph Elston officiating.
Interment will be in the parish Cemetery, Avoca.
There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

DEGENNARO, MARY

Mary DeGennaro, 86, of Elm Street in West Pittston died Friday at Kingston Manor.
Born Sept. 16, 1912, in Exeter, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Reskey) Bolock. She was formerly employed at Star Garment Co. in Exeter. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in West Pittston.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Sonny; and sisters , Tessie Abromavage and Ann Toole.
Surviving are her husband, Anthony; daughter, Mary Ann Conforti, Phoenixville; son, Edward, Camarillo, Calif.; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers , Joseph, Lockport, N.Y.; and Bernard, Exeter; and sisters , Marge Plaugic and Dolores Condosta, both of West Pittston; and Josephine Ascani, Exeter.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday from the Recupero Funeral Home, 406 Susquehanna Ave., West Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, with the Rev. Michael Piccola officiating. Interment will be in West Pittston Cemetery.
Friends may call from 8:30 a.m. until the time of services Monday.
