CUMMINGS, MARY

Mary L. Cummings, 88, of Millsboro, Del., formerly of Edison, N.J., and also of the Korn Krest section of Hanover Township, died Friday at the Millsboro Care Center in Millsboro.
Born Sept. 9, 1911, in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Plesco Buksar.
She was a member of the Danish Women's Organization, Metuchen, N.J.; the Nanticoke Senior Citizens Organization; and a life member of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross Church in the Buttonwood section of Hanover Township.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David; brother, Joseph; sisters , Katherine, Helen and Anna.
Surviving are her son, David, Millsboro; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday from the Charles V. Sherbin Funeral Home, 630 Main Road, Hanover Green section of Hanover Township, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Exaltation of the Holy Cross Church.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Hanover Township.

Samuel Curcio

Samuel A. Curcio, 49, of McCarragher Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Friday at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, Oct. 29, 1948, he was son of the late Frank Curcio.
He graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1967.
He served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He formerly was employed by Bartikowsky Jewelers and most recently by Steve Hydock Diamonds as a jeweler.
He was a member of St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Church, Wilkes-Barre.
Surviving are his mother , Ida, Wilkes-Barre; wife, the former Lynn Gregory; sons Christopher and Nicholas; twin brother, Frank, Larksville; and sister, Joann Brague, Plains.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday from the Recupero Funeral Home, 141 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Wilkes-Barre.
Interment will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.

Cushing, Charles

Charles Cushing, of Oakwood Lake, Tunkhannock, died Friday at the Tyler Memorial Hospital, Tunkhannock.
Born in Duryea, he was a son of the late Arthur and Edith (Harold) Cushing. He was a janitor for United Rehabilitation Services, Inc., Hazleton. He was a member of the Brick United Methodist Church, Duryea.
Surviving are his brother, Arthur, Pinellas Park, Fla.; sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Pfautz, New Bloomfield; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers , Danny, Walter, and Thomas; sisters , Ethel Nutting, Catherine Rogers, and Hilda Cushing.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. from the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, 517 N. Main St., Old Forge, with the Rev. Robert G. Wood officiating. Interment will be in Marcy Cemetery, Duryea. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
DAILEY, OLGA

Olga Dailey, 85, of Dallas, formerly of Forty Fort, died Wednesday in the Hospice Community Care Unit at Mercy Hospital in Wilkes-Barre.
Born Jan. 30, 1914, in Edwardsville, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Anna Vrabel Hoblak Sr. She was a graduate of Edwardsville High School.
Before her retirement, she was employed as an office manager for Home Design Kitchen, Inc., in Wilkes-Barre.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Edwardsville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Bernard Dailey; brothers , Joseph, Ashton, George and Michael, Jr.; and sister, Helen Sulyk.
Surviving are her son, George Francis Dailey, with whom she resided; grandson, Christopher; sisters , Elizabeth Hoblak and Catherine Karmilowicz, both of Forty Fort; and Onnie Franconi, Kingston; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday from the Simon S. Russin Funeral Home Inc., 136 Maffett St., Plains Township, with the Right Rev. Michael Slovesko officiating. Interment will be in the Eastern Orthodox Lawn of Fern Knoll Burial Park in Dallas.
There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Community Care in Kingston.
Danilla, Florence

Florence B. Danilla, 69, of Dupont, died Monday in the Allied Skilled Nursing Facility, Scranton.
Born Dec. 9, 1930, in West Pittston, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Helen Brown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter P. Danilla.
Surviving are her daughter, Ann O'Connor, South Amboy, N.J.; brother, Richard, Nazareth; sisters , Ruth Reese, West Pittston; Joyce Williams, Harding, Exeter Township; Judy McDonald, Wilkes-Barre; Linda Krause, Maryland; and Kay Krull, White Haven; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday from the Francis Bednarski Funeral Home, 340 Main St., Dupont, with Divine Liturgy at 9:30 a.m. in St. Michael's Byzantine Church, Pittston. Interment will be in the parish Cemetery, Pittston. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. The Rev. Robert Kemeter will conduct a Parastas service at 3 p.m.

Mary L. (Argenio) Danko, 78, formerly of Levittown, died Sunday at Community Hospital, Toms River, N.J.
Born in West Pittston, she resided in Levittown for 33 years before moving to Toms River.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Danko; and daughter, Loverne Costic.
Surviving are her sisters , Anna Carmeci, Toms River; Nancy Holbrook, Brockton, Mass.; brother, Frank Argenio, Rahway, N.J.; one granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday from the Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William St., Pittston, with a Mass of Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. in St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church.
Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Exeter.

Michael Danko, of Cooper Street in Pringle died Monday at Penn State Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township.
A son of the late Andrew and Anna (Lozinak) Danko, he was a member of St. John Nepomucene Church in Luzerne.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Before his retirement, he was employed at U.S. Rubber in New Jersey.
He was preceded in death by his brothers , John, Andrew, Peter and George; and sister, Helen.
Surviving are his sister, Anna Martin, of Duryea; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday from the Lehman-Gregory Funeral Home, Inc., 281 Chapel St., Swoyersville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. John Nepomucene Church in Luzerne.
Interment will be in the parish cemetery in Coaldale.

Davenport, Mary

Mary S. Davenport, of East Walnut Street, Plymouth, died Monday at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
Born Dec. 27, 1931, in Plymouth, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Rose (Durland) Simons. She graduated from Kingston Township High School in 1949. She worked for A.J. Sordoni, Forty-Fort; Westmoreland Club, Wilkes-Barre; and the Spinning Wheel Restaurant, Hanover Township. She was a member of the American Radio Relay League and a licensed amateur radio operator and instructor.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James F.; and grandson, Maxwell Davenport.
Surviving are her daughters , Diana Fischer, Brandon, Fla.; Deborah Trusso, Tonawanda, N.Y.; three grandchildren; sisters , Doris Zdan, Plymouth; Betty Josuwiet, Dallas; and Carol Simon, Cypress, Calif.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday from the Williams Funeral Home, 114 W. Main St., Plymouth, with the Rev. Donald Littleton officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas.
DAVIES, RICHARD
November 16, 1999
Mr. Richard J. Davies, of South Landon Avenue in Kingston died Tuesday morning at Balanced Care of Kingston.
Born Dec. 18, 1916, in Kingston, he was the son of the late James R. Davies and Jennie Ashton Davies. He graduated from Kingston High School, class of 1934.
Mr. Davies was affiliated with his Father in the truck farming and flower business until 1957. Before retiring, he was employed at Franconi Auto Parts. He was a resident of Kingston his entire life.
He has always been active in Christian activities. He was president of the West Side Union of Christian Endeavor and an adviser to young people. He also served as deacon, Sunday School teacher, treasurer, superintendent and an elder for more than 50 years.
He was a member of Church of Christ Uniting, serving on the parish council and as a greeter, and attending Communion visitations and the morning prayer group.
Mr. Davies was a member of Kingston Lodge No. 395, F&AM, for 43 years.
Surviving are his wife, Doris Newton Davies; sons , James and Julie Davies, Rocky Mountain, N.C.; and Richard and Jane Davies, Levittown, Pa.; grandchildren, Jeffrey and Lisa Davies, Mark and Aimee Arcias, Avi and Julie Kelley, Jennifer and Jessica Davies; great-grandchildren, Kyle and Jane Davies and Hannah Kelley.
The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. from the Hugh B. Hughes & Son, Inc., Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, with the Rev. Gregory Myers, the Rev. James Harring and the Rev. Donald Gilmore officiating. The interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Harding. Friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
