WINNIFRED E. BUSER PATRICK
Winnifred E. Buser Patrick, 101, formerly of Hummelstown and New Cumberland, passed away Sunday, August 22, 2004, in the Spring Creek Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
She was born the daughter of the late William E. and Margaret J. Vance Buser on January 13, 1903 in Baltimore, MD.
Winnifred was a seamstress for the former Hestico Dress Factory in Hummelstown.
She was a member of the Community United Methodist Church in New Cumberland. She loved to garden and crochet.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ammon W. Patrick on November 18,1978; a daughter, Mary E. DeHaven and four sons , Robert V. Patrick, William E. Patrick, Gerald S. Patrick, and Richard L. Patrick.
She is survived by a daughter, W. Gail wife of Wayne E. Rosenberry of New Cumberland, and a son Ronald E. husband of Virginia E. Patrick of Florence, MS; and a sister, Martha J. widow of Merle J. Patton of Harrisburg; thirty grandchildren, seventy-one great grandchildren, forty-nine great-great grandchildren and one great-great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 26, 2004 at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown. Interment will be in the Westminster Memorial Gardens, North Middleton Township, PA. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 AM until the time of the service.
ALFRED R. TESNO
Alfred R. Tesno, 87, of Cornwall, passed away Friday, August 20, 2004, in the Cornwall Manor Nursing Home.
He was born the son of the late Roy L. and Mae R. Alvord Tesno on February 9, 1917 in Bordina, NY.
Alfred served in the Army during World War II and was retired from the Longitude Department of the Hershey Chocolate Company.
He loved family reunions, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved his church serving as a teacher’s helper at the Ono United Methodist Pre-School, a Camp Counselor at the Gretna Glen Camp, and was a member of the Promise Keepers of America. He was a member of the Lions Club of Annville and volunteered at the Lebanon Rescue Mission. He was an avid baseball fan, enjoyed fishing, cooking and gardening.
He is survived by two daughters , Marcia Ann wife of Charles L. Huff of Lebanon, and Sheila S. wife of Mark E. Karlson of Mechanicsburg; a stepdaughter, Victoria wife of John Watson of Mechanicsburg and a stepson, Lawrence Funck of Lebanon; three sisters , Evelyn A. Still of Three Springs, Alice A. Carlton and Grace M. wife of Benjamin Helm, both of Hummelstown; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown with the Rev. Daniel L. Hall officiating. Interment will be in Citizens Cemetery, Lavelle, PA. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Monday from 7 to 9 PM and on Tuesday 10 AM until the time of the service.

VIOLET I. MARTIN
Violet I. Martin, 77, of Hummelstown, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2004, in the Hershey Medical Center.
She was the daughter of the late Tyson and Mary E. Heisey Martin.
She worked for the former Press Dress & Uniform, the former Rintz’s Confectionary and the Gladstone Candy Factory all of Hummelstown. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Hummelstown. Violet is survived by two daughters , Mary E. Leach of Hummelstown and Debbie I. Wyrick, wife of Scott L. of Mohnton; three sisters , Dorothy E. Geib, wife of Wesley of Halifax, Ethel M. Moses, widow of Eugene R., Sr. of Hummelstown, and Jean D. Wolfe, wife of Raymond Jr.; three brothers , Morris R. Martin, Ray I. Martin and Boyd E. Martin all of Hummelstown; three sisters -in-law, Dorothy B. Martin of Elizabethtown and Margaret Martin and Janet Martin, both of Hummelstown; and 4 Grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Martin and four brothers , Harry Martin, William L. Martin, Paul E. Martin and Chester E. Martin.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 20, 2004 at 11:00 AM in the Trinity United Methodist Church, 210 West Main Street, Hummelstown with the Rev. Dr. John W. Betlyon and the Rev. Dr. Michael L. Stine officiating. Interment will be in Hummelstown Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the church on Friday, August 20, 2004 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.

HENRY ARNDT, JR.
Henry Arndt, Jr., 77, of Hummelstown, passed away Saturday, August 7, 2004, in Spring Creek Care Center, Harrisburg.
Born in Steelton on January 2, 1927, he was the son of the late Henry Sr. and Anna Martz Arndt.
He retired as the Administrator of the Disability Determination Office of the Wilkes Barre Branch of the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry. He was a 1945 graduate of the former Swatara Township High School, and a 1950 graduate of Gettysburg College. He was an Army Air Force veteran having served in World War II, and was a veteran of the Army National Guard serving during the
Korean War. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1213, Rutherford, and the American Legion Post 609, Wilkes Barre; and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 410, Middletown.
Henry is survived by his wife of 55 years, Geraldine G. Stouffer Arndt, whom he married on August 26, 1948; one son, Roger W. Arndt and his wife Patricia Stone Arndt of Hummelstown; one brother, Edward Arndt and his wife Marion Arndt of Harrisburg; 4 grandchildren, Miranda E. wife of Jonathan R. Snavely, Jeanette I. Arndt, Shendi L. Arndt and Matthew R. Arndt all of Hummelstown; one great granddaughter, Zowie I. Mentzer of Hummelstown; one niece, Victoria wife of Todd Heckel of Baltimore; and one grand niece, Olivia Marie Heckel of Baltimore, MD.
There will be no viewing or services.

DOROTHY E. FISHER
Dorothy E. “Dot” Fisher, 79, of Hummelstown, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2004, at the residence of her daughter, Patti Harold, in Crofton, Nebraska.
Born June 30, 1925, in Union Deposit, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary Wickenheiser Brown.
She grew up in the Union Deposit area and graduated from Hershey High School in 1941. On September 29, 1949, she married Wilbur Fisher. After their marriage, they lived in Hershey, until moving to Hummelstown in 1952. After she became sick with cancer, she moved to Crofton, Nebraska, to be with her daughter, Patti Harold.
Dot was a homemaker. She was a member of the Union Deposit United Methodist Church; and the Red Hat Rebus Chapter #17435 of the Red Hat Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur W. Fisher, on June 24, 1978.
Dot is survived by three children and their spouses: Robert E. and Glenda G. Fisher of Missoula, Montana; Dennis J. Fisher of Bloomington, Indiana; and Patricia and Mike Harold of Crofton, Nebraska; six grandchildren: Tammy Fisher, Elicia Larson, Joyel Cardona, Jessica Bleacher, Brandy Abel and Jeremy Fisher; eleven great grandchildren; one brother and his wife, Harry R. and Jacqueline Brown of Jonestown; and a stepmother, Stella M. Kreiser Brown of Union Deposit.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Martha Brown; and a brother, Kenny Brown.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 20, 2004, at 10:30 AM in the Union Deposit United Methodist Church, 34 West Main Street, Hershey, with The Rev. Thomas R. Searfoss, her pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are invited to call in the church Saturday from 9:30 AM until time of the services. ZELLA I. ALLEN
Zella Isenberg Allen, 80, of Lower Paxton Township, and formerly of Rutherford, passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2004, at her residence.
Born in Elliottsburg on February 2, 1924, she was the daughter of the late John and Irene Henry Isenberg. She retired as a supervisor for Hershey Chocolate Company. She was a graduate of Ickesburg High School. Zella was a member of the Chambers Hill United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Eggers. She was also a member of the Farm Women and the Railroad Retirees Association; enjoyed gardening; and was an avid golfer.
Zella was preceded in death by her husband, Earle Allen.
She is survived by one daughter, Beverly J. Allen Sturgeon wife of Stephen R. Sturgeon of Export, PA; one sister, Iola Smith of Elliottsburg; one brother, Harold Isenberg of Camp Hill; two grandchildren, Timothy John Sturgeon and his wife Shannon Sturgeon of Irwin, and Jennifer Mae Sturgeon of Rochester, PA; and two great granddaughters, Brenna Morgan Sturgeon and Brianne Elizabeth Sturgeon both of Irwin.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 15, 2004, at 11 AM in the Chambers Hill United Methodist Church, 6300 Chambers Hill Road, Harrisburg, with The Rev. Stephen G. BERTHA E. SNYDER
Bertha E. Drumheller Snyder, 92, of Hummelstown, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2004, at the Polyclinic Medical Center, Harrisburg.
Born in Sunbury on March 13, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Alice Reitz Drumheller.
She was a former comptomitrist. She was a 1930 graduate of Sunbury High School. Bertha was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hummelstown. She enjoyed bowling and had played on leagues at the former Community Lanes of Hummelstown.
Bertha was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood J. Snyder, on June 16, 1975, and by a daughter, Lois S. Tucker, on March 29, 1973. She is survived by one grandson, Shane T. Tucker and his wife Michelle Kline Tucker of Middletown; and two great grandchildren, Skyler Jean Tucker and Andrew Thomas Blackburn both of Middletown.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 10, 2004, at 1 PM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. Thomas E. Karge, her pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be in the funeral home Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM and Wednesday from 12 noon to 1 PM.

GEORGE E. HAWTHORNE
George E. Hawthorne, 61, of Hummelstown passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 4, 2004, at the Lebanon Veterans Administration Medical Center.
Born in Hershey, he was the son of the late George L. and Ethel M. Shertzer Hawthorne.
He retired as an operator for the Hummelstown Plant of the United Water Corporation. He was a 1962 graduate of Lower Dauphin High School. He was a Marine Corps veteran having served in the Vietnam War. He was a life member Bob Smith Detachment Marine Corps League; a member of Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 1687; and enjoyed gardening and playing his banjo, guitar and electronic piano.
George is survived by his wife of 26 years, Nancy L. Garrison Hawthorne, whom he married on July 15, 1978; one brother, Paul R. “Pete” Hawthorne husband of Rosalie Wilson Hawthorne of Hummelstown; two sisters , Alice M. Hawthorne and Betty L. Bashore both of Hummelstown; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 8, 2004, at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. Ray Kanoun, pastor of the Independent Bible Church of Sand Beach, officiating. Interment with military honors will be in the Grantville Cemetery. MARGARET J. WERNER
Margaret J. Wily Faust Werner, 92, of Hershey, and formerly of Chambers Hill, passed away Thursday, November 4, 2004, at the Twin Oaks Nursing Home, Campbelltown.
Born in Barnesville, Schuylkill County, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth Jane Pascoe Wily.
She was a homemaker. Margaret was a 1930 graduate of Mahanoy City High School. She was a member of the former Hummelstown Brethren in Christ Church; and enjoyed knitting, gardening and reading.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, David Faust on April 14, 1973, and Albert Werner on December 17, 2002.
Margaret is survived by two sons , David W. Faust of New Orleans, and Jan H. Faust and his wife Marianne Faust of Hershey.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Faust, on January 15, 1997.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Inurnment will be in the Methodist Church Cemetery, Barnesville.
RICHARD J. WALTERS
Richard John Walters, 79, of Glasgow, KY, formerly of Rutherford, passed away Monday, October 25, 2004 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital, Glasgow.
He was born in Harrisburg, the son of the late Charles and Ada Davidson Walters. He was a retired Master Sgt. in the U.S. Army having served in WWII and the
Korean War. He was a member of the South Green St. Church of Christ in Glasgow.
Richard is survived by a daughter, Frenchie Marie Belcher and husband Doug of Glasgow; three sisters , Gloria Walters and Fern Sucec both of Harrisburg, and June Loose of Enola; two brothers , Charles Walters of Harrisburg, and Donald Walters and wife Dee of Mechanicsburg; one granddaughter, Genelle Jones of Glasgow; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Walters; a sister- in-law, Betty Walters; and two brothers -in-law, Stan Sucec and Jim Loose.
Funeral services and burial were held Thursday, October 28, 2004 in Kentucky.
