MARLIN G. LEX
Marlin G. Lex, 75, of Mariner Health of North Arundel, Glen Burnie, and formerly of Hummelstown and Rutherford, passed away Monday, December 15, 2003.
Born in Rutherford Heights on May 15, 1928, he was the son of the late Frank X. and Phoebe Manbeck Lex.
He was a 1947 graduate of the former Swatara Township High School. He retired from the Hershey Chocolate Company where he had worked in the Cocoa Department. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, Rutherford, and its Men’s Bible Class. He was an animal lover and train buff.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Hendricks Lex, on February 16, 2002.
Marlin is survived by one daughter, Barbara Ann wife of Frank Ferguson of Odenton, MD; three brothers , Elias R. Lex of Hummelstown, Raymond W. Lex of Richmond, VA, and Carl C. Lex of Dauphin; two sisters , Margaret M. wife of Marlin W. Chestnut of Middletown, and Phoebe C. wife of Lawrence B. Lutz of Palmyra; three grandsons, Erik W. Ferguson of Charlotte, NC, Lieutenant Benjamin J. Ferguson of Ft. Hood, TX, and Matthew D. Ferguson of Odenton; and three great grandchildren, Teagan Ferguson, Tevi Ferguson and Trent Ferguson all of Charlotte, NC.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 20, 2003, at 11 AM in the Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, 165 North 67th Street, Harrisburg, with The Rev. Dr. Gordon L. Lewis, his pastor officiating. Interment will be in Hummelstown Cemetery. Friends are invited to call Saturday at the church from 10 AM until the time of the services.

ELIZABETH S. CONZ
Elizabeth S. Rupp Conz, 94, of Hummelstown, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2003, in the Palmyra Nursing Home.
Born in Shippensburg on November 19, 1909, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Clara Agnes Bricker Rupp.
She was a homemaker; and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles C. Conz, on March 11, 1977.
Elizabeth is survived by three sons and daughter-in-laws, John W. “Bill” and June Rupp of Osceola, Iowa, and Charles M. and Lois J. Conz and George S. and Donna M. Conz both of Hummelstown; 16 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 18, 2003, at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. Joann M. Darrow, pastor of Stoverdale United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Hummelstown Cemetery. Friends are invited to call Thursday in the funeral home from 10 AM until time of the service.

RUSSELL L. KELLER
Russell LeRoy “Red” Keller, 78, of Middletown, passed away after a long battle with cancer on Friday, December 12, 2003, in the Spring Creek Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Swatara Township.
Born in South Hanover Township on August 9, 1925, he was the son of the late Adam I. Keller Sr. and Mary E. Spangler Keller.
He had worked for the Snyder & Baker Junk Yard in Londonderry Township; was the owner of Keller’s Painting Service; and for 20 years had Keller’s Antiques at the Silver Springs Flea Market.
“Red” is survived by one daughter, Gloria J. wife of Michael J. Cappel of Middletown; one sister, Emma C. Keller of Hershey; one brother, Clyde A. Keller of Myerstown; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer A. wife of Larry Reed of Wrightsville, Tammy M. Watts and her companion Daniel T. Dolan, Sr. of New Kingston, James M. Bechtel of Harrisburg, and Rebecca L. Watts of Middletown; and 7 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Tarry Linn “J.R.” Bechtel, Jr. on March 17, 2002.
Funeral service will be held Friday, December 19, 2003, at 6 PM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Most Rev. Michael J. Scalzi, officiating. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Lower Paxton Township, at the convenience of the family. Viewing will be Friday from 5 to 6 PM in the funeral home.

FRANK E. TOMAZIN
Frank E. Tomazin, 81, of Union Deposit, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2003, at his residence.
Born in Elm Grove, WV, on November 2, 1922, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary Ferkol Tomazin.
He was the owner of Frank’s Heating & Fuel Oil Service. He was a 1940 graduate of Perrysville High School, OH. He was an Army veteran having served in World War II.
Frank had the distinct claim to fame as being the only Democrat ever elected to office in South Hanover Township. He was a South Hanover Township Supervisor for six years having served as Chairman of the township board for one year. He was the #1 voter in South Hanover Township, and had worked on the Election Board and at the polls for over 50 years. He was a life member of the Hummelstown Optimist Club and the Union Deposit Fire Company. He was a member of the American Legion Post 265 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1687 both of Hummelstown. He enjoyed gardening, wine making, golfing, fishing, hunting and farming.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty J. Shaffer Tomazin, on April 29, 2002.
Frank is survived by one daughter, Patricia A. wife of Timothy E. Nichols of Elizabethtown; four sons , Robert J. Tomazin of Portlandville, NY, Frank E. Tomazin of Blackfoot, ID, Barry E. Tomazin of Hummelstown, and Scott A. Tomazin of Lebanon; three sisters , Mary Ann Tomazin of New Philadelphia, OH, Ruth Barlow of Carrollton, OH, and Jean D’Giavanni of Cleveland, OH; three brothers , Joseph Carl Tomazin of Savannah, GA, Robert Tomazin of Mesa, AZ, and Richard Tomazin of Jefferson ville, IN; 13 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death 12 years ago by a son, Richard M. Tomazin, on February 1, 1991.
Funeral service will be held Friday, December 12, 2003, at 1:00 PM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. Brian Medkeff-Rose officiating. Interment with military honors will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Lower Paxton Township. DENNIS G. YANTZ
Dennis G. Yantz, 60, formerly of Hummelstown and Mifflinburg, now of Millerstown, passed away Monday, February 9, 2004, in the Select Specialty Hospital, Camp Hill, of natural causes.
Born in Hummelstown on May 13, 1943, he was the son of the late Charles W. Yantz Sr. and Margaret M. Gibney Yantz.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Debra K. Pursley Yantz whom he married on May 6, 1978; one son, Kyle G. Yantz of Millerstown; one daughter, Denise A. Yantz Wood wife of Edward T. Wood of Arlington, TX; and two granddaughters, Lindsey R. Wood and Rachel C. Wood both of Arlington, TX.
Denny was a devoted and loving husband and Father . He spent 40 years coaching baseball and football in Hummelstown, Mifflinburg and Millerstown. His love of sports was second only to his family. He coached high school football in West Perry, East Juniata, Newport and most recently at Halifax. Denny was a dedicated volunteer for the Big 33 for the last 20 years. He was an inductee to the Capital Area Chapter of PA Sports Hall of Fame.
Denny worked at Atlas Energy Products in Camp Hill. He was previously employed at Wesley Forest in Weikert, PA, for the United Methodist Church Conference where he developed a love of the outdoors. He was a 1960 graduate of Lower Dauphin High School. He won the Jaycees Outstanding Young Men of America.
His life was dedicated to young people in the communities in which he lived. He was an avid photographer who loved taking pictures of his family and friends and also sporting events.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Justin Alexander Wood on September 12, 1991, and two brothers , Clyde W. Yantz on March 17, 1978, and Charles W. Yantz, Jr. on May 16, 2000.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 13, 2004, at 2 PM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc. with The Rev. Robert P. Stokes officiating. Interment will be in the Union Deposit Cemetery. Friends are invited to call in the funeral home Thursday, February 12, 2004, from 7 to 9 PM and on Friday from 1 PM until time of the services.
JACK R. ESHENOUR
Jack R. Eshenour, 61, of Hummelstown, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2004, of natural causes at his camp in Coudersport.
Born in Harrisburg on September 19, 1942, he was the son of the late Irvin M. and Clara E. Rogers Eshenour.
Jack retired from the IBM Corporation where he was an Advisories Systems and Procedures Analyst. He had attended the former Shippensburg Teacher’s College; and was a 1960 graduate of Central Dauphin High School where he was an offense and defensive tackle on Central Dauphin’s 1958 football team which was undefeated and ranked #1 that year in Pennsylvania . In 1954 he played in the final game of the Little League World Series.
He attended Andrew’s Settlement Union Church, Potter County. He was a Kentucky Colonel; a Deputy Game Protector for Cumberland County from 1967 to 1976; Past President and member of Trout Unlimited; and Past Treasurer and member of the Spring Creek Lodge #802, F&AM, Hershey. He was a member of the Hummelstown Area Historical Society; the Mechanicsburg Club; the Crazy Eight Golf League; the American Volksmarch Association; and the Sweden Feed Association, Genesee Rod and Gun Club, Gaines Feeding Club, Potter County Anglers Association, and the Oswayo Rod & Gun Club all of Potter County. He was a former member of the Oberlin Fire Company, Carlisle Fish and Game Commission, Federation of Fly Fishing, and the Brotherhood of the Jungle Cock. He was an avid golfer, turkey hunter and fly fisherman; and was an accomplished turkey caller.
Jack is survived by his wife, Catherine E. Reed Eshenour whom he married on February 12, 2003; two daughters , Karen Louise Eshenour of Manassas, VA, and Jenny Lynn Piper of Harrisburg; one step-son, Lawrence H. Allen II and his wife, Emily Allen of Ossining, NY; two brothers , Irvin Eshenour of Dillsburg and Richard Eshenour of Waynesboro, Virginia; one sister, Cara A. wife of Robert Johnson of Hummelstown; and two grandchildren, Joshua G. Eshenour of Manassas, VA, and Zack Q. Piper of Harrisburg.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Eshenour.

Funeral services for the Hummelstown area will be held Thursday, February 12, 2004, at 2 PM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. Robert W. Terricciano, Jr. of the Andrews Settlement Union Church, officiating. Friends will be received Thursday in the funeral home from 12 noon to 1:45 PM. A Masonic Funeral Service will be held Thursday at 1:45 PM in the funeral home. Interment will be held in the Stoverdale Cemetery, Derry Township.

MICHAEL S. TORRES, SR.
Michael S. Torres, Sr., 50, of Elizabethtown, passed away Friday, February 6, 2004, at his home. Born in Mt. Joy on July 25, 1953, he was the son of Luz L. Santiago Torres of Mount Joy and the late Luis Stephan Torres.
He was the Maintenance Supervisor for the former Omni Products, Mount Joy.
He was a 1971 graduate of Donegal High School, Mount Joy, and had received mechanics training through General Motors. He was a member of the Marietta Community Chapel. He was a Harley Davidson biker, and enjoyed auto mechanics and historic home remodeling and restoration.
In addition to his mother , Michael is survived by his wife, Linda J. Stevens Torres whom he married on September 14, 1997; one son, Michael S. Torres, Jr. of Dallastown; one daughter, Stephanie M. Alleman of Ft. Leonardwood, MO; two sisters , Julia Torres of Elizabethtown, and Liz wife of Kyle Migueis of Columbia; and two step granddaughters, Nicole and Alicia.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jeremiah “John” McKeag Alleman, on November 1, 1998.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 21, 2004, at 11 AM in the Marietta Community Church, 1125 River Road, Marietta. A private inurnment will be held in the Mt. Joy Cemetery. Friends will be received following the service on Saturday in the church’s Fellowship Hall.

CHARLES F. STILES
Charles F. Stiles, 74, of Newberrytown, passed away Monday, February 2, 2004, in the Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
Born in Steelton on October 11, 1929, he was the son of the late Robert S. and Mary Cresswell Stiles. He retired from the former Uhlmann Company, Highspire, where he had worked in the Cereal Department. He attended the Highspire United Methodist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed fishing and camping.
Charles is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty Fike Stiles whom he married on March 14, 1951; two daughters , Rosemary wife of Allen Castillo of Chambers Hill, and Robin M. Stiles of Newberrytown; three sisters , Mary Sipe of Middletown, Ruthann wife of William Smith of Mechanicsburg, and Margaret wife of Gerald Shaffner of Williamstown; two brothers , William Stiles of Harrisburg and James Stiles of Highspire; 6 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two daughters , Janice Stiles on February 2, 1959, and Betty Shipper on July 31, 1991.

DARLENE MARIE REIGLE
Darlene Marie Moore Reigle, 59, formerly of Hummelstown and State College, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2004 in the Claremont Nursing Home, Carlisle.
She retired as a secretary from the PA Department of Transportation, was a member of the Chambers Hill United Methodist Church, was a former member of the Harrisburg Chapter of the American Business Woman’s Association, and the Hummelstown VFW Ladies Auxiliary Unit 1687
She is survived by two daughters , Dawn Marie Hetrick of Marysville and Aaron Henrietta Reigle of Chambers Hill, and one granddaughter, Michaela Marie Hetrick; four sisters , Marlene Ellerick, Hilda Putsman, Dorothy Weaver and Carol Warner; two brothers , Robert Moore, Sr, and Albert Moore.
Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, February 4, 2004 at 2:00 pm in the Trefz and Bowser Funeral Home, Inc. 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, at the convenience of the family.
