Pauline N. Weimer
LEWISTOWN - Pauline N. Weimer, 88, of Brownstown, formerly of 109 S. Walnut St., Lewistown, died at 2:40 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2003, at Ephrata Hospital, Ephrata.
Born July 29, 1914, in Thompsontown, she was the daughter of the late James and Grace (Ramsey) Nearhood. Her husband, Harry J. Weimer, died Feb. 10, 1998.
Surviving are: a son, David H. Weimer and his wife Mary, Brownstown; a brother, Paul Nearhood, San Carlos, CA; and two grandchildren, Ashley and Victoria Weimer.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
She was a graduate of Yeagertown High School.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of Little Valley Presbyterian Church, Vira.
Her funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, First Ave., Burnham, with Mr. Donald P. Goss officiating. Interment will be in Little Valley Presbyterian Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

Brian Edward Weiss
ABERDEEN, SD - Brian Edward Weiss, 35, passed away as a result of a motorcycle accident Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, in Pennsylvania .
He was born Nov. 2, 1967, to Michael and Betty (Gruener) Weiss in Aberdeen, SD.
He is survived by his parents Mike and Betty Weiss of Pierre; two brothers , Eric and wife Lynette of Pierre and David of Pierre and fiance Sara and her son Austin of Rapid City; his grandparents, Esther Weiss of Faulkton and Earl and Emma Gruener of Clear Lake, and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Roy Weiss and uncle, Richard Weiss.
He attended Pierre schools and graduated in 1986 from T.F. Riggs High School. He then attended South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in Rapid City, graduating in 1991. While he attended SDSM&T he was a member of the Theta Tau Fraternity.
He lived in Chicago for six years and worked for Dor-a-matic. He then moved to Reedsville, and was a Senior Electrical Engineer for Overhead Door up until the time of his death.
He enjoyed baseball, motorcycles, mountain biking and flying airplanes. He especially enjoyed hunting pheasants at Faulkton with his family.
A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Isburg Hofmeister Funeral Chapel, on 439 South Pierre Street, which is where flowers should be sent.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Lutheran Memorial Church, located at 320 East Prospect, both in Pierre, SD. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Pierre, SD.
Memorials, in lieu of flowers, will be used to establish a scholarship fund in memory of Brian at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.
There will be a memorial service held in Brian's honor at the Salvation Army, located at 9 S. Dorcas St., Lewistown. This service is being held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, for Brian's friends, coworkers and acquaintances in the Lewistown area.
Local arrangements are by Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown.
William E. Wheeler, Sr.
LEWISTOWN - William E. Wheeler, Sr., 65, of 131 Hillside Drive, Lewistown, died at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 15, 2003, at Hershey Medical Center.
Born April 18, 1938, in Yeagertown, he was a son of the late Harry Edward and Clara L. (Hesketh) Wheeler. His wife, Dorothy (Peters) Wheeler, whom he married Nov. 7, 1959, survives.
Also surviving are: a son, William E. Wheeler, Jr., Lewistown; a daughter, Debra A. Goss and son-in-law, David, Reedsville; and two brothers , Harry V. Wheeler, Burnham and Gene R. Wheeler, Lewistown.
He was employed in the AFM section of Standard Steel for 29 years, retiring in 2000. Early in life he was employed at American Viscose Corp.
He was a Methodist by faith. He was a member of United Steelworkers of America Local 1940.
His funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with Rev. Larry K. Lutz officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

James A. White
SHILLINGTON - James A. White , 75, of State Street, Shillington, died at 5:49 a.m. Saturday Jan. 11, 2003, at Reading Hospital, where he had been a patient since Jan. 6.
Born in Mt. Union, he was a son of the late James A. and Violet (Booher) White . He was the husband of Patricia L. (Stravolo) White .
Surviving are: two daughters , Carol A. ( White ) Blazo, Schnecksville, Lehigh County, and Mary E. ( White ) Schmidt, Mohnton; three sons , J. Michael, Iron, MN, John J. Wernersville, and Thomas E., Mohnton; a brother, John E. Sinking Spring; a sister, Charolette L. ( White ) Foster, Alexandria; 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
He was a 1946 graduate of Lewistown High School.
He was employed for 30 years by AIRCO, Reading, retiring as a gas marketing manager in 1990.
He was a member of St. John Baptist De LaSalle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in St. John Baptist De LaSalle Roman Catholic Church, 420 Holland Street, Shillington at the convenience of the family with Rev. David C. Gillis officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Larry J. White Sr.
MCVEYTOWN - Larry J. White Sr., 57, of 31 Dogwood Drive, McVeytown, died Tuesday, July 8, 2003, at H.C. Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant.
Born July 16, 1945, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Floyd White , Jr., and Ruth J. (Snavely) White . His wife, Carolyn A. (McMullen) White , whom he married Oct. 24, 1964, survives.
Also surviving are: four children, Cindy A. Fultz, McVeytown, Gerald K. White , Burnham, Larry J. White , Jr., and Lauri L. Crosson, both of McVeytown; three sisters , Mrs. John (Connie) Reed, McClure, Mrs. Gerald (Judy) Brittain, and Mrs. Brooks (Betty) Boozel, both of Siglerville; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Whitney McConaughey and a sister, Mrs. Tom (Deb) Wilson.
He was a self-employed truck driver.
He was a member of McVeytown United Methodist Church.
His funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with Revs. Dale Dobbs and Marian Hartman officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Rock Cemetery.

Shirley L. White
LEWISTOWN - Shirley L. White , 75, formerly of S. Wayne St., Lewistown, died at 4:50 a.m. Sunday Feb. 2, 2003, at Ohesson Manor.
Born Nov. 30, 1927, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Grace (Heane) Miller. Her companion, Carl (Jay) Moore, preceded her in death.
Surviving are: a daughter, Connie Drass, Lewistown; a grandson, Scott A. Drass; two great-granddaughters, Alicia A. and Kesia N. Drass; a sister, Carol Stringer, Lewistown; two nieces, Cathy J. Pupo and Mona R. Anastasi; three great-nephews, Ryan R., Vinny J. and Nick W. Pupo; and a great-great niece, Mikaylae Pupo.
She retired from Polyester Fibers with 20 years of service.
Her memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Barr Funeral Home, Inc., 120 Logan St., Lewistown with Rev. Clifford Miller officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.

Mazie E. Howett White side
KIRKWOOD - Mazie E. Howett White side, 100, formerly of Kirkwood, died Thursday morning, Jan. 16, 2003, at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community, where she was a resident for the past nine and one-half years.
Born in Kirkwood, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Ida Stoner Howett. Her husband, S. Milton White side, preceded her in death on Dec. 31, 1963.
Surviving are two sons , Rodney S. White side of Milroy and S. Milton, married to Joan Mote White side, of Kirkwood; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jackie; a sister, Violet Howett; and a brother, Wally Howett.
She was a graduate of Colerain Township High School and Millersville Normal School.
Early in her career, she was a school teacher for eight years. Following that, she owned and operated a grocery store and gas station in Kirkwood for 15 years.
She was a member of Union Presbyterian Church, where she was a former Sunday School teacher and a member of the church's Woman's Society. She was also a member of Colerain Literary Society and served as secretary for Colerain Township school board.
She enjoyed travelling and flowers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at Union Presbyterian Church, 5637 Street Road, Kirkwood. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.
A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Union Presbyterian Church Building Fund.
George I. Wian, Jr.
MIFFLINTOWN - Col. (USA Ret.) George I. Wian, Jr., passed away peacefully in the company of his family and favorite things in his Lee's Summit home on Sunday, June 1, 2003.
Born March 25, 1922, to Dr. George I. Wian, Sr. and Elizabeth North Wian in Mifflintown.
George attended school there, Mercersberg Academy and Gettysburg College. He graduated from Temple University Dental School and was commissioned in the United States Army in 1946.
After a tour at Fitzsimmons General Hospital, George was assigned to the 34th General Hospital in Korea, where he met his future wife, Joyce Clarke, a civilian laboratory supervisor. Upon completing his tour in Korea and Guam, George and Joyce were married in Hayward, WI on June 24, 1950.
Their first family tour was Fort Riley, KS, then assignment to Ft. Sam Houston, TX, where the children, Deborah Elizabeth and Bruce Robert were born. Further Army assignments included Schofield Barracks, HI, Command and General Staff College, Ft. Leavenworth, KS, CONARC, Ft. Monroe, VA, Korea U.S. military Academy, West point, NY, and Germany.
In 1975, Col. Wian retired as Dental Surgeon from Ft. Riley and moved to Lee's Summit. He worked several years for UMKC at the Truman (Lakewood) Dental Facility.
George and his son were partners in Rimini Properties, Inc. He served on ARB and as parcel co-chairman in the Lakewood community, where they have lived for 27 years.
George and his son Bruce, went to Mifflintown in 2002 to visit his cousin, Barbara Gilson and attend his 63rd High School reunion.
Col. Wian is survived by his wife, Joyce; daughter, Deborah and husband, Mike Teague; a son, Bruce Wian; grandchildren, Leslie and Ryan Teague, Joan and Harold Norgaard; nieces, Marjorie, Katherine and Annie; and his cousin, Barbara Gilson, Port Royal.
George wished to acknowledge his doctor and nurses whose personal and professional dedication enabled him to enjoy a full life. He requested that friends join his family for a celebration of life. This will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Lakewood Cove. Cremation with interment at Ft. Riley, KS at a future date.
William H. Wian II
LEWISTOWN - William H. Wian II, 82, a lifelong resident of Lewistown, died Monday Jan. 20, 2003, at Malta Home.
He was the husband of Norma (Innis) Wian, also of Lewistown, until her death in 1977.
Surviving are: his brother, James o. Wian of Carlisle; three children, Deborah (Wian) White house, Atlanta, GA, Susan Innis (Wian) Tilley, and William H. (III) both of Jamestown, RI; and four grandchildren.
He held substantial positions in the pharmaceutical industry before establishing the W.H. Wian Co., a distributor of industrial supplies.
He was a long time member of the Lewistown Country Club where he repeatedly competed for the club championship, although he was best known for his love of the Cleveland Indians baseball team. He also loved to laugh.
He attended the Pennsylvania State University where he majored in industrial arts.
He served honorably in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Mildred J. Wike
MOUNT UNION - Mildred J. Wike, 88, of 142 Lower Country Club Road, Mt. Union, died Sunday Jan. 26, 2003, at her home.
Born July 31, 1914, in Mt. Union, she was a daughter of the late Harry V. and Clara E. (Forney) Wike Eade.
Surviving are: a sister, Mrs. Edgar (Helen F.) Stuter, Belleville.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
She was a bookkeeper at Harbison-Walker Brick Plant, Mt. Union for 44 years.
She was a member of Mount Union Presbyterian Church.
Her memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Valley View Haven Chapel, Belleville with Revs. Samuel G. Strohm and Galen Sharp officiating. Interment will be in Machpelah Cemetery, Belleville.
