Earl Robb
CENTRE HALL - Earl Robb, 64, of Centre Hall passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2003.
His wife, Myrtle (Grove) Robb, survives, along with a daughters Kendra Long and Denise June and a son, Shawn.
His funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Ceder Heights Brethren In Christ Church, Mill Hall.
Viewing will be 6-9 p.m. today and 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Elaine M. Roberts
PORT ROYAL - Elaine M. Roberts, 65, of Port Royal, died at 3:36 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, at Lewistown Hospital.
Born Dec. 5, 1937, in Altoona, she was a daughter of the late Bernard H. and Ruth I. (Findly) Bopp. Her husband of 46 years, William T. Roberts Sr., survives.
Also surviving are: children, Mrs. Timothy (Tracey) Warner, Mrs. Kenneth (Stephanie) Peterson, both of Arch Rock, Sandra Snyder, Mifflintown, William T. Roberts Jr., and wife Wendy, Port Royal, and William E. Roberts and wife LuAnn, Grantville; a sister, Mrs. Randall (Sandra) Donaldson, McVeytown; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter Wendy Kay Roberts.
She was a 1957 graduate of Lewistown High School.
She was employed as a supervisor for Scotty's Fashions, Lewistown. In earlier life she had owned and operated the Plum Tree Boutique, Mifflintown and later Nice Things N Silk Bridal Shop, Mexico.
She was at one time active in the American Legion Post 90 Sweethearts Drum and Bugle Corp., Lewistown.
She was a prize-winning fisherwoman winning many tournaments in NY and Florida. She also enjoyed bowling and camping.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday from the Mifflintown Chapel of Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with Rev. Danny Neff officiating. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
There will be no viewing.

Gladys L. Roberts
Gladys L. Roberts, 77, of Ocala, Florida and formerly of Burnham, died August 30, 2003 at Munroe Regional Medical Center, Ocala, Florida.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, at Mount Rock Cemetery, Lewistown with Pastor Harold N. Imes officiating. Bohn Funeral Home in Reedsville is in charge of arrangements.
Joseph J. Rocco
SHILLINGTON - Joseph J. Rocco, 92, of 404 Mitti Road, Shillington, died at 11:25 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2003, at Reading Hospital.
Born Jan. 15, 1911, in Messina, Italy, he was a son of the late Frank and Mary (Astone) Rocco. His wife, Marjorie L. (Hay) Rocco, survives.
Also surviving are: a son, J. Michael Rocco, Shillington; two daughters , Gail P. (Rocco) Howland and Lynne S. Rocco, both of Mohnton; a brother, Anthony Rocco, Lewistown; two sisters , Mildred Rocco and Grace (Rocco) Wilt, both of Lewistown; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He served in the Army during World War II with the 80th Division Position of Corporal.
He was owner/operator of Jack's Beauty Salons (3 locations) in Reading. He was employed for 26 years, retiring in 1972.
He was a member of St. John Baptist de LaSalle R.C.C. He was a former member of Elks B.P.O.E, Reading, former member of Knights of Columbus in Lewistown and current member in Reading.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John Baptist de la Salle, Shillington. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the church.

Samuel P. Rocco Sr.
LEWISTOWN - Samuel P. Rocco Sr., 81, of 617 S. Grand St., Lewistown, died at 12:50 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2003, at his residence.
Born Sept. 4, 1921, in Renova, he was a son of the late Frank and Mary (Astone) Rocco, Sr. His wife, Joyce A. (Armstrong) Rocco, whom he married Nov. 26, 1950, survives.
Also surviving are: five children, Samuel P. Rocco Jr., Jeffrey L. Rocco and wife Beth, Ronald S. Rocco, Joseph B. Rocco and wife Kelli, all of Lewistown, and Christopher T. Rocco, Marina del Ray, CA; two brothers and two sisters , Joseph Rocco, Shillinton, Grace Rocco Wilt, Anthony Rocco and Mildred Rocco, all of Lewistown; four grandchildren, Michelle Terry, Eric, Erin and Angela Rocco; two great-grandsons, Ethan and Ryan Terry.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Marie Rocco in 1968 and four brothers and two sisters .
He was a 1939 graduate of Lewistown High School and then attended Brooklyn Prep.
He worked at Rocco's Supermarket for 32 years, and later he was owner/operator of Mifflintown Foodtown Market. He then was a Sales Manager at Lil Colt and Eagle Enterprises and was also a photographer at PennDot.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II as a Base Sgt. Major in the Pacific Theatre.
He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, a life member of B.P.O.E Lodge #663 and UCT Council #591.
His funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Thomas Marickovic officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. A Memorial Mass will be held at a future date.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Friday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, where a Scripture service will be at 8 p.m.

M. Elizabeth 'Libby' Roddy
LEWISTOWN - M. Elizabeth "Libby" Roddy, 95, a resident at Ohesson Manor Nursing Home, Lewistown, formerly of S. Wayne St., Lewistown, died at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at the nursing home.
Born Feb. 2, 1908, in McVeytown, she was a daughter of the late Samuel R. and Mary (French) Stine. Her husband, Raymond W. Roddy, died Dec. 4, 1984.
Surviving are: a daughter, Mary Margaret "Peggy" Dean and husband, Richard, Lewistown; two grandchildren, Roddy Lee Dean and wife, Louise, Sterling, VA, and Allen R. Dean and wife Kim, Durham, NC; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters .
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Grove Memorial United Methodist Church, Lewistown, and the Live Wire Sunday School Class of the church.
Her funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with Rev. D. Gregory Lake officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.

MILLERSTOWN - Gloria J. "Duck" Rohrer, 59, of Millerstown, died at 10:34 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2003, at the Community General Osteopathic Hospital, Harrisburg.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from the McAlisterville Chapel of Brown Funeral Homes, Inc. Interment will be in Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Thompsontown. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Charles T. 'Charley' Romig
MCCLURE - Charles T. "Charley" Romig, 78, of Summit Road, McClure, passed away at 12:09 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2003, at Lewistown Hospital, where he had been a patient for the past two weeks. He had been a resident of William Penn Nursing Home since 2000, RR1 McClure from 1986-2000 and the majority of his life, Rochester, NY.
He was born Nov. 15, 1924, in Bannerville, a son of the late Jacob H. and Jennie C. (Baker) Romig.
Surviving are: a daughter, Alice Miller, Lewistown; two sons , Larry H. Romig, Lewistown and George T. Romig, McClure; eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters , Fae C. McKnight, McClure and Irene M. Goss, Shinglehouse; and two brothers , Paul H. Romig, McClure and George J. "Hoss" Romig, McClure.
He was preceded in death by: three sisters , Edna G. Richards, Beatrice E. Romig and Shirley A. Romig; and a brother, John W. Romig.
He retired from Bennett's Fur Farm, Holcomb, NY in 1986 after 30 years on the farm.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in Okinawa, Japan.
He was a member of American Legion Post 942, McClure. He enjoyed fishing.
His funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the McClure Chapel of Aurand Funeral Homes, North Brown St., McClure, with Rev. Kevin Brophy officiating. Interment will be in Samuel's Church Cemetery, McClure, where graveside military services will be provided by American Legion Post 942, McClure.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the service time Monday at the funeral home. There will be no evening viewing.

Beatrice N. Rook
REEDSVILLE - Beatrice N. Rook, 86, of 20 Fawn Road, Reedsville, died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born March 30, 1916, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Charles P. and Mertle Ann (Beatty) McMullen. Her husband, Arthur R. Rook Jr., preceded her in death on Dec. 11, 1985.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter, Robert E. Rook, Harrisburg, Larry J. Rook, 20 Fawn Road, Reedsville, and Sharon A. Rook, 118 Valley St., Lewistown; a sister, Mrs. Carrie Hughes, Altoona; a half-sister, Betty Cavanaugh, RR2, McVeytown; three grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters .
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Graveside services will be held at noon Tuesday at Lind Memorial Cemetery with Karen McCachren officiating.
Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.
Daniel C. Roselle
LEWISTOWN - Daniel C. Roselle, 90, formerly of Montgomery Ave., Lewistown, now of the Malta Home, died at 3:45 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2003, at Lewistown Hospital.
Born Nov. 28, 1912, in Altoona, he was a son of the late Salvatore and Katrina (Scepse) Roselle. His wife, Pauline Long Roselle, died in 1971.
Surviving are: three children, Charles Roselle, Lewistown, Donna Lee Werner, Birdsboro, and Samuel Roselle, Reedsville; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
He was a custodian for Mifflin County School District for 9 years. He drove truck for Cosmo Mannino for 40 years, and was a bus driver for J&D Buses, Reedsville.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church and City Fire Company.
His funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with Father Thomas Marickovic officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.

Mary Margaret 'Margie' Rowan
LEWISTOWN - Mary Margaret "Margie" Rowan, 83, of 538 Lindbergh Way, Lewistown, died at 6:41 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2003, at Lewistown Hospital.
Born April 27, 1920, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Massimino Vincent and Mary Eliza (Woodruff) Dughi. Her husband, Edward Paul Rowan preceded her in death on April 3, 1972.
Surviving are two children, Michael E. Rowan and wife, Jane, Poughkeepsie, NY, and Mary Beth Gibb and husband, Henry, Norcross, GA; a brother and sister, James R. Dughi, Santa Rosa, CA, and Dorcas E. (Dughi) Nolan, Camp Hill; and four grandchildren, Amy McGovern, Michael Rowan, Emily Gibb and Jeffery Gibb.
She was preceded in death by two brothers , John William and Donald Joe Dughi.
She was graduate of Lewistown High School and Drexel College, and was an avid watcher of Mitchell Field activities from her porch on Lindbergh Way.
She was a secretary at American Viscoe, a legal secretary for Siegel & Siegel and the law office of Houck & Gingrich.
She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, Lewistown Country Club, Nittany Lion Club and Bridge Club 7. She also volunteered at Sacred Heart School and as a greeter at her church, and was a Cub Scout den mother .
She was an active bowler and avid golfer, and she loved her family.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church with Father Thomas Marickovic officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
A viewing will be held 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with a scripture reading at 8:45 p.m.
