Pennsylvania Obituary and Marriage Records, 1947-2010

Paul D. Reamer
LAURELTON - Paul D. Reamer, 96, of 1665 State Route 235, Laurelton, died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, at his home.

Among his survivors is a daughter, Thiry Olbrich of Lewistown.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Christ's United Lutheran Church, Millmont. Interment will be in Hartleton Cemetery.

The James L. Schwartz Home for Funerals, Mifflinburg, is in charge of arrangements.

George Walter Reed
REEDSVILLE - George Walter Reed, 61, of 68 N. Main St., Reedsville, died at 11:04 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, at his residence.

Born June 10, 1941, in Harrisburg, he was a son of the late George Louis and Caroline Bernice (Milleysak) Reed. His step-mother , Betty (Palmer) Reed, preceded him in death. His wife, Judith Eileen (Stricker) Reed, whom he married June 14, 1968, survives.

Also surviving are: two children, George Brian Reed, Reedsville, and Mrs. Shawn D. (Laurie) Weaver, Mifflintown; a sister, Jeanie Cagney, Newark, OH; a brother, James Palmer Reed, Johnstown; and two grandsons.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Reed and a sister, Patty Varner.

He had been a Corrections Officer in Dauphin and Juniata Counties, retiring on disability in 1983.

His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville with Pastor Tom McElrath officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Milroy.

Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Loise E. 'Snyde' Snyder Reed
LEWISTOWN - Loise E. "Snyde" Snyder Reed, 76, of 1754 Lockport Rd., Lewistown, died at 9 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2003, at Beverly Healthcare William Penn.

Born March 30, 1927, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late J. McClure Snyder and Freida (Leach) Snyder. Her husband, Benjamin Evans Reed, whom she married Feb. 8, 1947, survives.

Also surviving are: a daughter, Barbara Brubaker, 1765 Lockport Rd., Lewistown; a brother, Carl McClure Snyder, Belleville; and two grandsons, Benjamin and Kenneth Brubaker.

She worked for the Arrow Shirt Factory and the Lewistown Hospital, and last worked for Reed's Greenhouse, a family owned business.

She was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.

Her funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown with Rev. Marian Hartman officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.

Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be sent to: Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, 325 Middle Road, Lewistown, PA 17044.

John E. Reeder
LEWISTOWN - John E. Reeder, 78, of 727 W. Sixth St., Lewistown, died at 11:45 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2003, at his residence.

Born May 21, 1924, in Bellwood, he was a son of the late Chester L. and Irene (Caswell) Reeder.

Surviving are three sisters and a brother, Kathryn Edwards, Newport News, VA, Betty Robinson, Orlando, FL, Daniel L. Reeder Sr., Lewistown, and Anna Mesmer, McClure.

He was disabled.

He was a member of the Mifflin/Juniata Special Needs Center.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Private interment will be in Bellwood Cemetery, Bellwood.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Marcella Ganoe Center, 39 S. Juniata St., Lewistown, PA 17044.

Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Yvonne A. Reichenbach-Bishop
THOMPSONTOWN - Yvonne A. Reichenbach-Bishop, 44, of Oakhurst Manor, Thompsontown, died at 3:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25, 2003, at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, following an extended illness.

Born May 4, 1959, in Derry Township, Mifflin County, she was a daughter of Gary L. and Barbara A. (Swab) Reichenbach of Thompsontown. Her husband, Edward C. Bishop, whom she married Feb. 14, 1981, also survives.

Also surviving are: two children, Laura M. Bishop and Daniel L. Bishop, both at home; two brothers , Dennis E. Reichenbach Sr., RR4 Mifflintown, and Craig A. Reichenbach, Thompsontown.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Rita Ann Bishop, and one brother, Carl S. Reichenbach.

She was a 1977 graduate of East Juniata High School.

She was employed by Empire Kosher Poultry, Mifflintown, retiring on disability.

She was a member of the Centre Lutheran Church, RR2 Mifflintown, and a graduate of East Juniata High School.

She enjoyed camping, hunting, bingo and working with children.

Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the McAlisterville Chapel of the Brown Funeral Homes, 16 Westfall St., McAlisterville, with Pastor Louise L. Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow in the Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Thompsontown.

Friends may call 4-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the family present 7-9 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 26 N. Brown St., Lewistown, PA 17044.

Samuel H. Reinard
LEWISTOWN - Samuel H. Reinard, 85, of Valley View Terrace, formerly of Blue Juniata Drive, Lewistown, died at 1:05 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, 2003, at Valley View Terrace.

Born Feb. 10, 1918, in Yeagertown, he was a son of the late Merrill and Ruth (Mitchell) Reinard. His wife, Remona C. (Cromwell) Reinard, preceded him in death on Nov. 29, 2000.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Stephen (Janeann) Runkle, 4 Manor Drive, Mechanicsburg; two sisters , Rosene Pennebaker and Loretta Nichols, both of Lewistown; and two grandchildren, Lynne A. Grew, Mechanicsburg and John A. Runkle, San Francisco, CA.

He was preceded in death by a son, Nevin C. Reinard, in 1997 and two brothers , Russell and Howard Reinard.

He was a freight conductor for the Lewistown Yard Railroad for more than 35 years.

He was a member of Centre Union Church, Burnham Lions Club, Lewistown Lodge #203 F&AM, Harrisburg Consistory and a 32nd degree Mason, Towpath Society and the Special Needs Center.

He was also a volunteer at Lewistown Hospital and was always very active in church and civic activities.

His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with Rev. Leon Clayberger officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.

Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home. A Masonic Service will be at 1:45 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Centre Union Church, 470 Caldwell Hill, or to Hospice: The Bridge, Second Floor, Lewistown Hospital, 400 Highland Ave., Lewistown, PA 17044.

Randy R. Reinhart, Sr.
LEWISTOWN - Randy R. Reinhart Sr., 45, of 133 Logan St., Lewistown, died at 10 a.m. Sunday, May 18, 2003, at his sister's residence in Lewistown.

Born Feb. 28, 1958, in Columbia, he was a son of Jean (Stewart) Reinhart of 132 1/2 Chestnut St., Lewistown and the late George "Manny" Reinhart. His wife, Marjorie (Beers) Reinhart, whom he married Oct. 9, 1980, survives.

Also surviving are: three children, Mrs. William (Jennifer) Hostler, Middleburg, Randy R. Reinhart, Jr. and his companion Angela Kohler, and Brian G. Reinhart, all of Lewistown; seven brothers and sisters , Barry L. Reinhart, Myerstown, Sharon K. Specht, Mrs. Rick (Debra) Price, Rocky W. Reinhart, all of Lewistown, Vernon J. Reinhart, McClure, Mrs. Michael (Pamela) Gibson, Thompsontown, and Mrs. Steven (Cindy) Brower, McClure; and a granddaughter, Kyla Reinhart.

He was a production employee at Overhead Door. He retired due to disability.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

His funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with Rev. John S. Walters officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown, with graveside military honors by VFW Post 7011, Lewistown.

Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Alice M. 'Bonnie' Renninger
MILROY - Alice M. "Bonnie" Renninger, 60, of 43 Naginey Rd., Milroy, died at 4:40 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003, at Lewistown Hospital.

Born Sept. 6, 1943, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of Jean L. (Phillips) Fultz Ruble, 104 Broad St., Milroy and the late Leon Joseph Fultz.

Surviving are: a step- Father , Homer Ruble, 104 Broad St., Milroy; children, Charles W. Kuhns Jr., Milroy, Tammy Jean Kuhns, Harrisburg, Lisa Star Mallery, Muncy and Shane Mallery, McClure; brother and sister, David Fultz, Milroy and Connie Shirey, Lewistown; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Ann (Mallery) Sunday in July 1992.

She last worked at Metz Hatchery, Belleville.

Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville is handling the arrangements, which will be announced later.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Mifflin-Juniata Unit, 112 N. Wayne St., Lewistown, PA 17044.

Lloyd C. 'Bill' Renninger
MCVEYTOWN - Lloyd C. "Bill" Renninger, 82, of 1571 Ferguson Valley Road, McVeytown, died Thursday, March 6, 2003, at his home.

Born May 30, 1920, in McVeytown, he was the son of the late Howard and Nannie (Moist) Renninger. He was united in marriage to Irene (Fetrow) Renninger on May 22, 1948, in the C&MA parsonage, Mt. Union.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Linda Bunn of James Creek, Margaret "Peg" Ripple and husband Randall of Lewistown, Donald Renninger and wife Kathy of Blue Ridge Summit, and Robert Renninger and wife Deborah of East Berlin; a brother, James Renninger of Mt. Union; a sister, Pearl Booher of William Penn Nursing Home, Lewistown; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Brunner, and two brothers , Eugene and Merrill Renninger.

He retired in 1982 from New Holland, Belleville, with 29 years of service as a welder.

He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, in the European Theatre.

He was a member of the Wesleyan Church, Mt. Union, and the American Legion Post, Wormleysburg.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Heath Funeral Home, Mt. Union, with Rev. Rod Uhlig officiating. Interment will be in Pine Glen Cemetery, Mattawana.

Friends will be received 7-9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.

Lydia K. Renno
MIFFLINTOWN - Lydia K. Renno, 84, of RR2 Mifflintown, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at her residence.

She was the widow of David Yoder Renno, who died May 26, 1998.

Her funeral service will be at 9 a.m. Friday at the RR2 Mifflintown residence. Friends may call Thursday.

Arrangements are by Guss Funeral Home, Mifflintown.

Anna M. Ritter Rhodes
BURNHAM - Anna M. Ritter Rhodes, 97, of Beverly Healthcare/William Penn, formerly of 317 Fourth St., Burnham, died at 10:07 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, in Lewistown Hospital E.R.

Born Nov. 9, 1905, in Burnham, she was a daughter of the late Isaac and Curlie (Heimbach) Stuck. Her first husband, John Ritter died 1969, and her second husband, Leon M. Rhodes died 1997.

Surviving are: a daughter, Fay Kincaid, Jupiter, FL; three step-children, William L. Rhodes, Plumber, Idaho, Mrs. Fern (Doris) Snook, Buchanan, MI, and Barry A. Rhodes, 100 Rhodes Lane, McClure; two grandchildren, John Matthews, Port St. Lucie, FL, and Annette Griffin, South Windsor, CT; 7 step-grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 10 step-great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and 3 step-great-great-grandchildren.

She was the last of her immediate family having been preceded in death by two brothers , a sister, and a son-in-law, Garth Kincaid.

She was a seamstress for 20 years at Arrow Shirt Factory, Lewistown, retiring in 1963.

She was a member of Freedom Avenue United Methodist Church. She was a member of Textile Workers Union.

Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., Burnham, with Rev. John Walters officiating. Interment will be in Birch Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to: Bible Baptist Church, 101 N. Beech St., Burnham, PA 17009.
