Jasper W. 'Pete' Paige
VINELAND, NJ - Jasper W. "Pete" Paige, 68, of Vineland, NJ, died Sunday morning at home after an extended illness.

He was born and raised in Spruce Hill Twp. and resided in Aston, PA for 12 years, prior to moving to Vineland, NJ, where he lived for 27 years. He was the son of the late Harry and Mary (Klinger) Paige and the husband of the late Shirley (Wert) Paige, who died in 1999.

Surviving are: two daughters and sons -in-laws, Christina and Jay Purcell, and Patricia and Chris Curcio, all of Vineland; two sons , Jasper W. "Butch" Paige, Jr., Schwenksville, and Rodney R. and wife Laurie Paige, Aston; six grandchildren, Craig and Crystal Purcell, Brandon and Holly Paige, and Nicole and Courtney Paige Curcio; a sister, Betty Brackbill, Spruce Hill; a niece, Tina and a nephew, Dennis.

He was employed as a Petroleum Marketing Manager for Ross Fogg Oil Co. in Salem, NJ and he was previously employed by the Sun Oil Co.

He was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army 187th Airborne Division.

He attended the South Vineland United Methodist Church and was a member of a Pennsylvania Masonic Lodge.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR Racing, gardening and supporting the Vineland High School Marching Band.

His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Pancoast Funeral Home, 676 S. Main Rd., Vineland, NJ with Rev. James Doran officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Millville, NJ.

Friends will be received from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

William D. Pandel Sr.
MCCLURE - William D. Pandel Sr., 62, of 300 Mountain Spring Lane, McClure, died at 12:48 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born Feb. 26, 1941, in Walker Township, Juniata County, he was a son of the late John "Fred" and Evelyn Mary (Earnest) Pandel. His wife, Phyllis E. (Gingher) Pandel, died April 28, 2001.

Surviving are: children, William D. Pandel Jr., 300 Mountain Spring Lane, McClure, and Mrs. Randy (Dana) Diven and Ginger L. Pandel, both of McClure; brothers and sisters , Lois Ann Pandel Rodkey, Atlanta, GA, John R. Pandel and Thomas E. Pandel, both of Burnham; and grandchildren, Dara Pandel, Wendy Pandel and Caleb Diven, all of McClure.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald E. Pandel.

He was a cabinet builder for 20 years at Yorktown Kitchen, Mifflinburg. Early in life he was employed at Beaver brothers Bakery, Burnham, and American Viscose Corp., Lewistown.

He was a member of Highland Park Presbyterian Church and Lewistown Moose Lodge #143.

His funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. Monday at Highland Park Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Christina Trimble and Mr. Murray Laite officiating. Interment will be in St. Mark's Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4-5 p.m. Monday at the church where a Loyal Order of the Moose service will be at 4:45 p.m.

Memorials may be made to: The American Heart Association, 501 Howard Ave., Bldg. D, Altoona, PA 16601.

James E. Pannebaker
LEWISTOWN - James E. Pannebaker, 75, of 413 Green Ave., Lewistown, died at 5:22 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2003, at Lewistown Hospital's Emergency Room.

Born Oct. 13, 1927, in Mifflintown, he was a son of the late James G. and Nellie M. (Dumm) Pannebaker. His wife, Rosette M. (Smith) Pannebaker, who he married on June 11, 1949, survives.

Also surviving are three children, Mrs. Ted (Susan) J. Forsythe, Lewistown, Nancy L. Snyder, McClure, and Larry C. Pannebaker and his wife, Carolyn, McVeytown; a brother and sister, Cloyd Pannebaker, Belleville, and Naomi Russis, Palmer, MA; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, George A. Pannebaker.

He was employed as a Rolling Mill Operator at Overhead Door Corp., retiring April 19, 1993, after 37 years of service.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II - Pacific Theatre.

He was a member of Brooklyn Hose Company.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with Rev. George H. Mark officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.

Family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Joseph S. Pannebaker
MIFFLINTOWN - Joseph S. Pannebaker, 83, of RR3 Mifflintown, died at 12:05 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, at his residence.

Born Aug. 29, 1919, in Beale Twp., Juniata County, he was a son of the late Stewart M. and Olive (Warner) Pannebaker. His wife, Adelaide (Jenkins) Pannebaker, whom he married Sept. 1, 1946, survives.

Also surviving are: a brother, Robert Pannebaker, Arcadia, FL; a nephew, Joseph S. Walker, RR4 Mifflintown; and two great-nephews, Joseph S. Walker Jr., RR5 Mifflintown, and Craig D. Walker, RR3 Mifflintown.

He was preceded in death by a son, David Rex Pannebaker; three sisters , Lillian Sheesley, Anna Houtz Heister, and Mabel Shotzberger; and a brother, Cloyd Pannebaker.

He was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church, Mifflintown, the Mifflintown Lions Club, the Crawford-Brubaker VFW Post 5863, Mifflintown, the Juniata County Sportsman's Club, and he was a life member of the Elks Lodge 663, Lewistown.

He was a 1938 graduate of Juniata Joint High School, Mifflintown.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in World War II.

He worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad and the New York Central Railroad, until he retired from Conrail as a conductor in 1981.

His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, from the Mifflintown Chapel of Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with Rev. William N. Esborn officiating. Interment will be in Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.

Full military burial honors will be accorded by the Juniata County Veterans Council.

A viewing will be from 1 p.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home. The family will provide all funeral flowers.

Olimpia Pannizzo
LEWISTOWN - Olimpia Pannizzo, 82, of 358 Summit Drive, Lewistown, died at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2003, at Lewistown Hospital.

Born June 25, 1921, in Carini, Sicily, she was a daughter of the late Giuseppe Russo and Anna Cracchiolo. Her husband, Giovanni Pannizzo, preceded her in death in 1996.

Surviving are five children, Frank Pannizzo Lewistown, Gaetana Cracchiolo of Lewistown, Anna Amato of Sayre, Joseph Pannizzo of Lewistown and Pietra Picciurro of Belleville; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church with Father Bateman officiating. Interment will be in Carini, Sicily.

Family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Monday at Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, where a vigil will be held at 8:45 p.m.

Twila A. Parchey
MCVEYTOWN - Twila A. Parchey, 69, of Chestnut Ridge Road, McVeytown, died at 8:23 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2003, at Harrisburg Hospital.

Born Feb. 5, 1934, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Boyd and Charlotte (Fultz) Geedey. Her husband, Robert R. Parchey, whom she married Aug. 8, 1951, survives.

Also surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. John (Kathy) Eckley Jr., Milroy; a son, Andrew W. Parchey, Lewistown; a sister, Jeannine Cavanaugh, Lancaster; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela O'Keefe, on April 13, 1995, and three brothers and two sisters .

She retired from Wal-mart in Lewistown and had previously worked as a district manager for House of Lloyd.

She enjoyed league bowling on the team sponsored by Heller-Hoenstine.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Mattawana Cemetery, McVeytown, with the Rev. Tom McElrath officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 501 Howard Ave., Building D, Suite 101, Altoona, PA 16601.

Harshbarger Funeral Home, McVeytown is in charge of the arrangements.

Geraldine M. Parsons
MT. UNION - Geraldine M. Parsons, 77, of 24 Walnut Ave., Mt. Union, died Friday, May 30, 2003, at Brookline Manor, Mifflintown.

Born May 10, 1926, in Love's Valley, Huntingdon County, she was a daughter of the late, David L. and Flora (Goss) McKim. Her husband, Norman O. Parsons, whom she married April 30, 1946, survives.

Also surviving are: children, Wayne Parsons, RD1 Mapleton, Donna K. Harshbarger, Ryde, Rose Waite, RD1 McVeytown, Clyde G. Parsons, Newton Hamilton, and Karen Wertz, Huntingdon; a brother, Gerald McKim, Sunrise Acres; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: a great-grandson, Kip Douglas Kyper; and three brothers , Ralph, Richard and Russell McKim.

She attended Cedar Crest-Lucy Furnace Chapel, Mt. Union.

Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mt. Union, with Revs. Jeff Winstead and Robert Davidson officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Union Cemetery.

Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until the service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

June Alene Pauly
YEAGERTOWN - June Alene Pauly,74, died on Tuesday, April 15, 2003.

Born in Yeagertown, Pennsylvania to the late Charles Edward and Bertrice Treaster Beckwith, she was the wife of the late Thomas Weir Pauly, U.S. N. retired.

She is survived by six children, Donna L. Hayes and husband, Larry of Virginia Beach, Dennis W. Pauly and wife, Susan of Norfolk, Diane M. Whalen and companion, Walter of Virginia Beach, Douglas C. Pauly and wife, Barbara of Chesapeake, Damon T. Pauly and wife, Christine of Virginia Beach, Darren A. Pauly of Virginia Beach; nine grandchildren, Douglas Whalen, Chris Hayes, Shawn Whalen, Erin Pauly, Danielle Pauly, Kelly Whalen, Ann Marie Pauly, Gregory Brooks Pauly and Damon T. Pauly, II (Ty); and one great-granddaughter, Lauren D. Rench.

She is also survived by sisters , Barbara Parson and Shirley Gussler and husband, Guss, of Pennsylvania ; brothers , Ronald Beckwith and wife, Betty, James Beckwith and wife, Marlene, and Martin "Nick" Beckwith, all of Pennsylvania ; sister-in-law, Alma Beckwith of New York; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Charles E. Beckwith, Jr.

Mom was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was loved by all who knew her. She crossed the paths of many and will be greatly missed.

The visitation will be held at Altmeyer Funeral Home 5792 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach, on Thursday, April 17, 2003 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. The services will be held at the funeral home Friday, April 18, 2003 at 11:00am with burial to follow at Hampton National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Mary's Infant Home at 317 Chapel Street, Norfolk, Virginia 23504.

John Leonard Pawl
SOUTHPORT, NC - John Leonard Pawl, 74, of 4152 Telfair Lane, SE, died Wednesday, June 4, 2003.

Born Sept. 20, 1928, in Allegheny County, PA, he was a son of the late Stanley and Elizabeth Goski Pawl and moved to Southport, NC from Amelia Island, FL two years ago. His wife of 53 years, Evelyn Argo Pawl, survives.

Also surviving are: two daughters , Jan Lee Strouzas and husband, Kosta, of Southport, NC and Penny Marie Viswanathan and husband, Kumar, of Hilton Head, SC; a son, Benjamin T. Pawl and wife, Kimberly, of Monnessen, PA; sisters , Cecelia, Anna, Marie, Stella, Helen and Leona; brothers , Tony and Archie; and four grandchildren.

A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he retired from Standard Steel as an industrial engineer in 1982 following 21 years of service.

He was a graduate of the University of Tulsa and a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Southport, NC, where he was a parishioner.

LEWISTOWN - Ray O. Peace, 80, of Ferguson Valley Road, Lewistown, went to be with the Lord at 10:15 p.m. Friday Jan. 24, 2003, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born Oct. 26, 1922, in Hastings, he was a son of the late Lloyd A. and Anna (Johnson) Peace. His wife, Tracey E. (Walker) Peace, whom he married June 23, 1943, survives.

Also surviving are: two sons , Donald E. Peace and wife Judy of Ort Valley Road, Lewistown and children, Lori, Amy, and Melinda, Robert E. Peace and wife Manice of Blandon and children, Jennifer and Robert Jr.; a daughter, Karen and husband Randall Stahl Sr. of Ferguson Valley Road, Lewistown and children Randall Jr., Valerie, and Melody; two brothers , Wesley A. Peace, Forest Estate Apts., Lewistown, and Clifford L. Peace, Big Ridge Road, Lewistown; two sisters , Mrs. Joseph (Ruth) Long, Long Drive, Lewistown, and Mrs. Kermit (Doris) Whitsel, Birch Drive, Lewistown; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother and two grandchildren.

He was a clerk for 32 years at Conrail, retiring Oct. 1, 1982, later he worked part-time for Hoenstine and Heller-Hoenstine from 1989 to 1997.

He was in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theatre.

He was a member of Lewistown Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.

His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lewistown Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Juniata Terrace, with Rev. John Looney and Rev. Jacob T. Traxler officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.

Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Heller Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the church.

Barbara C. Peachey, 83, of 1768 Front Mountain Rd., Belleville, died at 2:50 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2003, at Big Valley Area Medical Center, Belleville.

A service will be held 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the residence of Rudy Peachey, 1764 Front Mountain Rd., Belleville.

The viewing is 2-9 p.m. Friday at the Rudy Peachey residence.

BELLEVILLE - Lydia M. Peachey, 76, of 59 Cedar Lane, Belleville, died at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2003, at the residence.

Family will receive friends Saturday P.M. and Sunday at the residence.

The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at the Joe Wengerd residence. Burial will be in White Hall Amish Cemetery, Belleville.
