Fairy P. Leach
LANCASTER - Fairy P. Leach, 93, of 136 Strasburg Pike, Lancaster, died at 12:45 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2003, at her residence.
Born May 17, 1909, in Harrisburg, she was a daughter of the late Harry E. and Minnie (Wertz) Kise. Her husband, J. Leroy Leach, died May 1, 1981.
Surviving are: a daughter, Joyce Hetrick, Lancaster; three brothers , James D. Zimmerman, Harrisburg, Jack K. Zimmerman, Lewistown, and Jerry H. Zimmerman, Shermansdale; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchildren.
She was a licensed practical nurse.
She worked at Mifflin County Home, Lewistown, and Masonic Homes, Elizabethtown.
She was a member of Pearl Street United Methodist Church, Lancaster. She was also a member of AARP, and the Widow's Support Group.
Her funeral service will be held at noon Monday at Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, Inc., 108 First Ave., Burnham, with Pastor Rick Christopher officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Rock Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.

Marie T. LeGuen
REEDSVILLE - Marie T. LeGuen, 82, of 81 Marlick Ave., Reedsville, died at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at her daughter's home in Sarasota, FL.
Born April 8, 1921, in Brittany, France, she was the daughter of the late Emile and Emilie (Jorand) LeBlanc he. Her husband, Jean LeGuen, preceded her in death on July 29, 2002.
Surviving are: children, Sylvie Anne LeGuen and son-in-law, Truman Menefee, Sarasota, FL, Jacqueline Marie LeGuen, Reedsville, Jean Paul LeGuen and daughter-in-law, Debbie LeGuen, Lewistown, Michael Jean LeGuen, Reedsville, and Colette Anne (LeGuen) Goldberg, Lebanon; sisters , Germaine LeBlanc he and Jeanne LeBlanc he, both of Brittany, France; one grandson, Andrew LeGuen, Lewistown.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters .
She was a floral designer for The Posey Corner, Lewistown for more than 15 years, a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Lewistown and became a naturalized United States citizen in February 2003.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Monday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, with Father Thomas Marickovic officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Anna K. Lehman
MT. HOLLY SPRINGS - Anna K. Lehman, 89, of Mt. Holly Springs, died Saturday, June 7, 2003, in Green Ridge Village, Newville.
Born May 20, 1914, in Altoona, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Elsie Hunt Horner. She was preceded in death by two husband, Clinton B. Matthew and Orrie S. Lehman.
Surviving are: three daughters , Donna M. Yingest of Gardners, Caroline D. Newcomer, Carlisle, and Jeanie Lehman, Modesto, CA; three sons , Ronald C. Matthew, Carlisle, William R. Matthews, Eureka, MO, and Richard S. Lehman of NC; 17 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters , Alice Beam, Boiling Springs, Esther Eslick, Mt. Holly Springs, and Bernice Beagel, Spring City; and a brother, Donald Horner of Reedsville.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ray Lehman; a brother, Clyde Horner and two sisters , Bertha Goss and Ruth Bridge.
She had worked for C.H. Maslands and Son in Carlisle, and retired from C.H. Musslemans in Gardners.
She belonged to Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mt. Holly Springs, and the Womens Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.
Her funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hollinger Funeral Home, 501 N. Baltimore Ave.., Mt. Holly Springs, with Rev. Richard Barner officiating. Interment will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
A viewing will be from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Brian J. Lehman
MCALISTERVILLE - Brian J. Lehman, 43, of RR2 Mifflintown, died at 10:27 a.m. Sunday, June 1, 2003, at the University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville, VA.
Born April 3, 1960, in Derry Township, Dauphin County, he is the son of Leroy L. Lehman, Lebanon and the late Dorothy (Reber) Lehman. His wife, Sharon L. (Helwig) Lehman, whom he married May 30, 1998, survives.
Also surviving are: three step-children, Ted Miller and wife Melissa, Ickesburg, Ali Wright and husband Stephen, Staunton, VA, and Andy Miller at home; three grandchildren, Jared Miller, Emily Miller and Aaron Wright.
He was a 1978 graduate of Lebanon High School and attended the Electronics Institute of Harrisburg.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Mifflintown, where he had served as the sound system operator.
He was an avid baseball card collector and participated in the American Professional Baseball Association. He also enjoyed fishing and woodworking.
He was employed as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, Harrisburg.
His funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday from the First Baptist Church, Mifflintown, with Pastor Ronald L. Shupe officiating. Interment will be in Adams Cemetery, RR4 Mifflintown.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday at the McAlisterville Chapel of Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 16 Westfall St., McAlisterville, with the family present from 7-9 p.m.

Brice H. Leister Sr.
LEWISTOWN - Brice H. Leister Sr., 75, of 1214 US Hwy 522N, Lewistown, died at 7:15 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2003, at Lewistown Hospital.
Born July 10, 1927, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Lloyd C. and Hattie (Henry) Leister. His wife, Elizabeth (Kreps) Leister, whom he married in 1944, survives.
Also surviving are six children, Brice H. Leister Jr., Lewistown, Ted Leister, McClure, Larry Leister, Lewistown, Del Leister, Burnham, Kim Leister, Milroy, and Tina Conrad, Bethlehem; three sisters and a brother, Verna Laub, Paintersville, Florence Goss, State College, Sylvia Harper, Lewistown, and Clifford Leister, East Petersburg; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers , three sisters , two infant siblings and a grandchild.
He was a machinist at Standard Steel for 20 years.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, East Derry Fire Company, Belletown Hunting Camp, where he was a past secretary and treasurer, and was a life member of City Fire Company, Moose Lodge #143 and Milroy American Legion. He was also the founder of Leister's Garage, and enjoyed horseracing and hunting.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with Rev Gerald Krum officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
A viewing will be held 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Orpha G. Leister
LEWISTOWN - Orpha G. Leister, 82, a resident of Ohesson Manor, formerly of Kish Apartments, Lewistown and Mill Street, Thompsontown, died at 10:10 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2003.
Born Feb. 17, 1921, in Richfield, she was the daughter of the late Christian and Margaret (Hood) Lauver and the step-daughter of the late Dorothy Lauver. Her husband, Earl G. Leister, died on June 12, 1958. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother .
Surviving are: children, Janet and husband Leonard Hoffman, Ephrata, Karen and husband Howard Winey, New Holland, and James and wife Teresa Leister, Lewistown; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; siblings, Raymond and wife Kay Lauver, Chapel Hill, NC, Orville and wife Iona Lauver, York; and a brother-in-law, Roy and wife Elsie Leister, Thompsontown.
She was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Caroline Leister.
She was a member of Emmanuel's Lutheran Church, Thompsontown. She enjoyed all church activities. She especially enjoyed working in the kitchen, serving the annual turkey dinners and helping with bake sales and bazaars.
She was one of the charter cafeteria cooks at the Thompsontown Elementary School. Serving 24 years with the school district, retiring May 27, 1983.
Celebration of life will be held at noon Thursday at Emmanuel's Lutheran Church, Thompsontown with Rev. Louise Reynolds officiating. Interment will be in Emmanuel's Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Lunch will follow at the church.

Jean L. (Griffith) Leitch
ENOLA - Jean Lenore (Crissman) (Griffith) Leitch, 80, of 13 Louis Lane, Enola, died peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2003, in the Jewish Home of Greater Harrisburg.
Born Oct. 26, 1922, in Sproul, she lived in Bedford County for most of her youth. Her family later moved to Burnham, where she graduated from Burnham High School in 1939. Following her marriage to Nelson G. Griffith in 1943,they moved to Huntingdon and resided there until moving to Enola in 1962.
Surviving are: her husband, Robert W. Leitch, formerly of Akron, OH; her daughter, Susan J. Zimmerman and husband, Gary L. of Harrisburg; a sister, Vivian Lindenberger and husband, Richard, Cuyahoga Falls, OH; a brother-in-law, Michael Griffith and wife Sondra, Yeagertown; a step-daughter, Amy M. Leitch and husband Frank, Akron, OH; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel W. Crissman and N. Pearl Reighard; a brother, Jack Crissman and a sister, Virginia Leitch. She was widowed in 1972 upon the death of former husband, Nelson G. Griffith.
From a very young age, her natural musical talent was well-recognized and led her to a career as an accomplished, professional entertainer. She performed at many notable venues, including the Governor's Mansion, Harrisburg. Prior to her former husband's discharge from the Army at Camp Atterbury, Indiana, she played piano with the 451st ASF Band alongside lifetime friend and well-known musician, Sammy Nestico. She once had an opportunity to sing with Jack Teagarten, when he visited Lewistown.
She provided entertainment at various senior centers, the annual Mechanicsburg Naval Depot Christmas party for children and area nursing homes. Over the years, she was a house musician at the Summerdale Junction Restaurant, Coakley's in New Cumberland, Geo's Restaurant and Bumper Bob's Restaurant in Yocumtown. During her lifetime, she was a member of the Lewistown Musical Association, the Musician's Union Local #269 AF&M and the Central PA Friends of Jazz, from its inception. In addition to her musical career, Jean was an auditor for Sears, Roebuck and Co., retiring after eighteen years and subsequently, retired from the Harrisburg Housing Authority.
A private family gathering will be held at Mt. Rock Cemetery, Lewistown. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Robert C. Lenning
MCVEYTOWN - Robert C. Lenning, 71, formerly of McVeytown, died Friday at Bon Secours Hospital.
Born May 25, 1931, in Hollidaysburg, he was the son of the late Paul Lenning and Marian (Kelly) Zimmerman of Hollidaysburg. He was married to the late Evelyn H. (Hockenberry) Lenning on Sept. 23, 1961.
Surviving are: five children, Darel Lenning, Petersburg, Robin Nixon, Ashville, Cindy Keith, Altoona, Deenya Everetts, McVeytown, and Rev. Robert K. Lenning, Albuquerque, NM; four siblings, Carol Fry, Rev. William Zimmerman, James Zimmerman, and Gary Zimmerman;11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
He graduated from Hollidaysburg High School, Class of 1949.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He worked as a switching technician for Bell Atlantic for 39 years.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, the outdoors and gardening.
He was a lifetime member of the NRA and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. He was a member and past Trustee of McVeytown United Methodist Church.
His private funeral service will be at Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mt. Union.

Russell O. Lightfoot
STRODES MILLS - Russell O. Lightfoot, 84, of 97 Old Route 22 Road, Lewistown, and formerly of Strodes Mills, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, at his residence.
Born Nov. 17, 1918, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Stewart and Rhoda (Rheam) Lightfoot.
Surviving are: seven children, Beverly Grove, St. Petersburg, FL, Wanda Markel, Lewistown, Robert A. Lightfoot, Willow St., William J. Lightfoot, Lancaster, Sandra L. Clinger and Dennis E. Lightfoot, both of Lewistown, Steven W. Lightfoot, Millersburg, and their mother , Dorothy S. Kauffman Nichols; a sister, Arlene Confer, Michigan; a brother, Howard Lightfoot, Texas ; 22 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
He retired from Standard Steel with 35 years of service.
He served in the U.S. Army, a veteran of World War II.
He was a Baptist by Faith.
His funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hoenstine Funeral Home, Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown with Rev. Jacob T. Traxler officiating. Interment will be in Lind Memorial Cemetery.

Florence K. Fultz Lloyd
ROCKLEDGE, FL - Florence K. Fultz Lloyd, 86, formerly of West Fourth Street, Lewistown, died at 8:53 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003, at her residence in Rockledge, FL.
Born July 24, 1916, in Armagh Township, she was the daughter of the late Grant and Ruth (Bradford) Goss. Her husband, William P. Lloyd, whom she married in 1958, survives at home.
Also surviving are two children, Mary M. Fisher and Kevin Lloyd, both of Rockledge, FL; a brother, Russell Goss of Outlook Pointe, Reedsville; and a close family friend, Arthur Lucas of Rockledge, FL.
She was preceded in death by four brothers .
She had owned Fultz's Store on Third Street, Lewistown, and was a member of Lake Park United Methodist Church, Lewistown.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown with Rev. Mark Brower officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
Family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
