Joyce A. Heath
LEWISTOWN - Joyce A. Heath, 79, of 1590 Big Ridge Road, Lewistown, died at 12:49 p.m. Sunday, March 23, 2003, at Lewistown Hospital.
Born Nov. 9, 1923, in Burnham, she was a daughter of the late Noah and Mary Catherine (Wagner) Smith. Her husband, George M. Heath, whom she married April 21, 1946, survives.
Also surviving are: three daughters , Mrs. Bradley (Cathy) Wieland, Palmyra, Debra Sue Reinhard, Enola, and Mrs. Steven (Judith) Geyer, Halifax; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Merle Eugene Smith.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Ellen Chapel Church, Lewistown. She was a life member of the church, a member of the Senior Choir, Service Sunday School Class and held various financial positions in the church. She was also a member of Fort Granville Grange where she held several offices. She was secretary/treasurer of the Lewistown High School, Class of 1941 Alumni Association.
Her funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Ellen Chapel Church, Ferguson Valley Road, Lewistown, with Rev. Mark Hill and Rev. J. Faust Hissong officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Rock Cemetery.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

William I. Heckendorn
REEDSVILLE - William I. Heckendorn, 73, of 198 Marlick Ave., Reedsville, died at 8:45 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003, at his residence.
Born Jan. 27, 1930, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late William I. and Helen (Smith) Heckendorn Sr. and step-mother , Ada (Haller) Heckendorn. His wife, Betty (Ruble) Heckendorn, whom he married on Feb. 26, 1949, survives.
Also surviving are: children: James I. Heckendorn and wife, Carol, of Lewistown, and Mrs. Michael (Jane A.) Hesketh, Reedsville; sister, Mrs. Glen (Betty) Cline, Mt. Crawford, VA; grandchildren, Jason Heckendorn, Jodi Heckendorn, Kristan Hesketh and Eric Hesketh; great-grandchildren, Christopher Heckendorn and Sage Heckendorn; and two nieces and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by: a son, Jerry Lee Heckendorn in 1963; and a grandson, Christopher Heckendorn in 1974.
He was an insurance salesman for American General Life in Lewistown and later worked as a van driver for J and D Transportation. Early in life, he was a manager of J.S. Raub Shoe Store in Lewistown.
He was a 1948 graduate of Lewistown High School and was a member of Grove Memorial United Methodist Church, Lewistown.
His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. D. Gregory Lake and Rev. Richard J. Bender officiating. Private interment will be in Lind Memorial Cemetery, Lewistown.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

William Aaron Heckert
LUTHERVILLE, MD - William Aaron Heckert, 72, of Lutherville, MD, died at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2003, at Union Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 16, 1930, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late William Aaron and Nettie (Heiser) Heckert, Sr. His wife, Suzanna (Guss) Heckert, of Mifflintown, whom he married Dec. 26, 1954, survives.
Also surviving are: two daughters and three sons , S. Beth Heckert Tevis, Westminster, MD, Patricia Lou Heckert Magee, Belair, MD, William Bryan Heckert, Monkton, MD, Timothy Aaron Heckert, Westminster, MD, and Jeffery Guss Heckert, Philadelphia; a brother, Robert L. Heckert, Port Royal and seven grandchildren.
He graduated from Lewistown High School in 1948. He obtained a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University in 1958. He earned a Masters Degree from Drexel Institute of Technology.
He entered the Marine Corps in 1952, and was honorably discharged in 1954.
In 1958 he was hired by the Martin Company in Middle River, MD, where he helped design systems for the Gemini Space Program. He later worked for Westinghouse in Hunt Valley, MD, for 29 years before retiring in 1996.
He was a member of the Rolling Rocks, the BPOE of Lewistown, and the American Legion.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Westminster Church of the Brethren, followed by a luncheon in the Fellowship Hall.
A viewing will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Peaceful Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Center, 2325 York Rd., Timonium, MD.

Christine K. (Ohl) Heeter
Christine K. (Ohl) Heeter, 53, of Beavertown RR1, a God-given wife, helpmate and mother , died at 10:25 a.m. Monday, Sept.15, 2003, at home with her family.
She was born April 9, 1950, a daughter of the late Lee and Grace (Edwards) Ohl of Buckhorn. On Nov. 10, 1973, she married Joe D. Heeter, who survives.
She was a member of Samuel's Church, McClure, where she was very active in the Sunday School as a teacher and youth leader. She served in various roles in the worship of the church.
She was a graduate of Bloomsburg High School and Bloomsburg University with a degree in education. She was a fourth grade teacher and later a substitute for the Midd-West School District. She was also a partner in Heeter Lumber Co. She worked at Sears for the past few years. She was primarily a wife, a mother and a homemaker.
She volunteered for many years as a leader with Girl Scouts, Regional Commissioner with AYSO Soccer, Snyder County Solid Waste Management Board and enjoyed being a part of the many organizations in which her children were involved. She also enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, sewing, especially special-event dresses for her daughter, reading, hiking and fishing on family vacations to Canada.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Kathryn G. Heeter and Joshua D. Heeter, both at home; two brothers and their spouses, Thomas and Cecile Ohl, Buckhorn; Arthur and RuthAnn Ohl, Moro, MO; a sister-in-law, Judy Ohl, Bloomsburg; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Ohl.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Samuel's Church by Rev. Clark Kelsey. Interment will be in the Samuel's Church Cemetery.

Joseph A. Heider
GRANVILLE - Joseph A. Heider, 68, of N. River Rd., Granville, died at 3:50 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at Malta Home, Granville.
Born March 13, 1935, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Mary (Heider) Boyer. His wife, Sandra (Stewart) Heider, whom he married Oct. 1968, survives.
Private services will be held at Barr Funeral Home, Inc., 120 Logan St., Lewistown.
Marjorie Evelyn Heidler
SHAMOKIN - Marjorie Evelyn Heidler, 85, of Shamokin passed away at 6 a.m. Thursday Jan. 30, 2003, at Manor Care Center, Sunbury, where she had been a resident for the past two months.
Born Dec. 13, 1917, in Backus, MN, she was a daughter of the late John and Ida (Franson) Erickson. Her husband, Ralph Heidler, whom she married Aug. 28, 1937, passed away July 26, 1985.
Surviving are: six daughters , Naomia Haddon, Shamokin, Ruby Tupper, Williamsport, Rose Clark, New Enterprise, Marjorie Platon, Duncansville, Lillian Brooks, Newtown Square, and Hettie Winstead, Altoona; seven sons , Frank, Needmore, Ralph, Honolulu, HI, Donald, Altamonte, FL, Joseph Loveland, OH, Jonathan, Washington Court House, OH, Meredith, Lewistown, Norman, Altoona; a sister, Anita Pacey, Ellsworth, KS; a step-sister, Valeta Plank, Chicago City, MN; 41 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Calise, six brothers and sisters and a step-sister.
She was a member of God's Missionary Church, Millmont. She enjoyed sewing and baking.
Her funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.Tuesday at the Millmont God's Missionary Church with Rev. Frank Heidler officiating. Interment will be in Hartleton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-9 p.m. Monday in the Beavertown Chapel of Aurand Funeral Homes, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown.

Charles W. Heimbach
MCCLURE - Charles W. Heimbach, 88, of RR2 McClure, passed away at 9:50 a.m. Aug. 19, 2003, as a result of a vehicle accident on route 522 in Beaver Springs.
Born Feb. 23, 1915, in Spring Township, a son of the late Ernie and Estella (Lash) Heimbach. June 27, 1942, he married Irene K. Snook, who resides at Penn Lutheran Village, Selinsgrove.
He was a member of Mt. Bethel United Church of Christ, McClure. He was a farmer in Spring Township for the past sixty years. He had also worked for the former Bickel's, Heeter's and Tressler's Saw Mills as a sawyer during the 1940's, 50's and 60's. He enjoyed hunting and farming. He was a member of the Mountaindale Hunting Camp, RR2 McClure.
Surviving are: a nephew and niece, Park and Mary Fultz, RR2 McClure and several great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Dora Fultz, who passed away in 1993 and a nephew, Lee Fultz in 1986.
The family will receive friends at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the Beavertown Chapel of Aurand Funeral Homes, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Rev. Ken Dockery officiating. Interment will be in Black Oak Ridge Cemetery, RR2 McClure.
Phyllis G. Heister
GRANVILLE &endash; Phyllis G. Heister, 73, of 1430 N. River Road, Granville, died at 12:24 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2003, at her residence.
Born Jan. 19, 1930, in Burnham, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Pearl (Johnson) Havice. Her husband, Edwin E. Heister, whom she married Oct. 19, 1964, survives.
Also surviving are: a son, Herbert "Codger" Hannon and wife Susan, Lewistown; two daughters , Mrs. Edwina (Winnie) Barlett and husband Robert, and Mrs. Georgene (Jean) Wilkins and husband David, both of Lewistown; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 2 brothers .
She was a member of Granville United Methodist Church, Granville Birthday Club of the church, Woman's Club of the church, and Granville Fire Company Auxiliary.
Her funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Granville United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Brower officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Milroy.

Vera R. Helwig
YEAGERTOWN - Vera R. Helwig, 87, of 126 N. Derry Ave., Yeagertown, died at 5:15 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2003, at Lewistown Hospital.
Born Oct. 14, 1915, in Brooklyn, NY, she was a daughter of the late Constinte and Anna (Hostella) Rachitsky. Her husband, Michael W. Helwig, Sr., died May 2, 1987.
Surviving are: a son, Michael W. Helwig, Jr., 101 Grace Drive, Cranberry Township; a sister, Margaret White , 31 Brooknar Drive, Reedsville; two grandchildren, Sylvia Helwig and Shane Sprecher.
She was preceded in death by two brothers .
She worked for the Arrow Shirt Factory Div. of Cluett Peabody for 12 years, retiring in 1964 due to disability.
She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. today at Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., Burnham with Father John Bateman officiating. Interment will be in Birch Hill Cemetery.

Frances V. Henry
BURNHAM - Frances V. Henry, 85, of 536 E. Freedom Ave., Burnham, entered into eternal peace to be with the Lord and her loved ones who went before her at 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2003.
Born Aug. 9, 1917, in McVeytown, she was a daughter of the late Cloyd G. and Ethel (McMurtie) Casner. Her husband, Harold F. Henry, preceded her in death in February 1987.
Surviving are two daughters , Darlene A. Libby, Langhorn, and Mrs. C. Leonard (Barbara) Eby, 617 Freedom Ave., Burnham; a brother and two sisters , Glenn Casner, Clara P. Barth and Mrs. Raymond (Margarette) Crosson, all of McVeytown; 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Clifford (Linda) Hartman; two sons , Harold F. Henry Jr. and Rodney D. Henry; four brothers and two sisters .
She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother , grandmother and friend.
She enjoyed antiques and reading her Bible, and devoted her life to her family.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church and was a Sunday School teacher earlier in life.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.

Raymond B. 'Brownie' Henry
LEWISTOWN - Raymond B. "Brownie" Henry, 83, of 3378 Old Stage Road, Lewistown, died at 7:45 a.m. Sunday Jan. 26, 2003, at his residence.
Born Dec. 14, 1919, in Brown Township, he was a son of the late Albert T. and Nancy (Shank) Henry. His wife, Ruth (Haller) Henry, whom he married March 28, 1940, survives.
Also surviving are: four children, William A. Henry, RD1 Richfield, Mrs. Gary (Nancy) Haines, RD1 McClure, Ronald E. Henry, McVeytown, and Cynthia L. Hoar, Centre Hall; a sister, Mrs. Dean (Edna Mae)Leach, Mifflintown; 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by six brothers , three sisters and one grandson.
He was employed by American Viscose Corp., Lewistown in the Spinning department for 26 years, later he worked at Standard Steel, Burnham in Machine Shop I for 11 years.
He served in the US Navy during World War II in the European Theatre.
He attended Vira United Methodist Church. He was a member of McClure American Legion Post, USWA Local 1940. He enjoyed camping in Poe Valley.
His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown with Rev. Marion Hartman officiating. Interment will in Juniata Memorial Park with graveside military rites by VFW Post 7011, Lewistown.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
