Marie McCall, 76, of Greensburg, died Wednesday, April 12, 2000, in Westmoreland Manor, Hempfield Township. She was born Sept. 19, 1923, in Wendel, a daughter of the late Arthur and Nancy Thompson Gramlich. She was a member of First Christian Church, Greensburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George M. McCall Sr., in 1974. She is survived by a son, George M. McCall Jr. of Greensburg; two daughters , Bonnie Schmidt and her husband, Raymond, of Delmont and Beth Chew and her husband, Daniel, of Jeannette; six grandchildren, Andrea Schmidt, Thomas Schmidt, Derek Chew, Daniel Chew, Sara Chew and Katie Chew; three sisters , Anna Ludwig of Industry, Viola Ferguson of Canyon Lake, Texas , and Irene Peirce of West Seneca, N.Y.; a brother, Arthur Gramlich of Claridge; a special niece, Kathryn Mott, and a special nephew, William Mott, both of Greensburg. Friends received at the BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green streets, Greensburg, Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Steven L. Welker officiating. Interment will follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township. MARY A. McCULLOCH
Mary A. McCulloch, 91, of Ravenna, Ohio, formerly of West Newton, died Wednesday, April 12, 2000, in Ohio, where she resided with her granddaughter, TerriAnn and John Thompson. She was born Sept. 14, 1908, in Star Junction, a daughter of the late Andrew and Anna (Svec) Matty. She was a member of the Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, West Newton, and the Confraternity of Christian Mothers. She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. McCulloch; a son, Donald A. McCulloch; brothers , John, Joseph, Adam, Stephen, and Andrew Matty; and a sister, Anna Urda. She is survived by three sons , David F. McCulloch (Mary) of Freedom, Pa., William M. McCulloch (Lorraine) of Monroeville, and James J. McCulloch (Mary) of New Springfield, Ohio; a daughter, Monica Stallsmith (Jerry) of Mantua, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the RICHARD F. DODSON FUNERAL HOME, 213 Main St., West Newton, Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Holy Family R.C. Church at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John Regoli as celebrant. Interment will follow in the West Newton Cemetery. Prior to the 11 a.m. Mass, a rosary will be recited in the church at 10:30 a.m. by the Confraternity of Christian Mothers.
RICHARD B. POLLINS
Richard B. Pollins, 68, formerly of Greensburg, died Tuesday, April 11, 2000. He was employed for 23 years as a vice president by Telephone Utilities of Pennsylvania before moving out of state. He is survived by his wife, Jean P. Pollins; four daughters , Patricia Shotts, Karen Underwood, Sandra Register and Roberta Bell; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Elizabeth Yenawine. Memorial service will be conducted at the First United Church of Christ, Second and Maple streets, Greensburg, Saturday, April 15, at 11 a.m. Visitation with the family will be from 10:30 until 11 a.m. prior to the memorial service. Stanley E. Pynos Jr., 69, of Latrobe, died Wednesday, April 12, 2000, in Latrobe Area Hospital. Born July 18, 1930, in Latrobe, he was a son of Mary Maruscak Pynos of Latrobe and the late Stanley E. Pynos Sr. He was a member of St. Rose Church, Latrobe, and its Holy Name Society. He was retired from the former A&P of Latrobe and Shop 'n Save of Greensburg. In addition to his mother , he is survived by his wife, Ella R. Pauley Pynos; two daughters , Brenda Wasil and her husband, Ralph, of Norvelt and Mary Lou Stynchula and her husband, Tom, of Latrobe; two brothers , Theodore J. Pynos of Latrobe and Ronald C. Pynos and his wife, Judy, of Latrobe; four grandchildren, Ralph Wasil Jr., Rebecca Wasil, Greg Stynchula and Tim Stynchula; and a number of nieces and nephews. Romayne P. "Lou" Stout Wadsworth, of Ruffsdale RD2, died Tuesday, April 11, 2000, in the Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. Born in Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of the late Dorothy Jean Rush Stout. She was a graduate of the former East Huntingdon High School Class of 1952. Survived by her husband, Arlin J. Wadsworth of Ruffsdale RD2; four sons , Heath Wadsworth of Bakersville, Pa., James Wadsworth of Mt. Pleasant, Kim Wadsworth of Morrisville, Pa., and Eric Wadsworth of Orlando, Fla.; six daughters , Mrs. Rody (Theresa) Perez of San Angelo, Texas , Mrs. Ernest (Patricia) Dolan of Scottdale, Mrs. Robert (Laurie) Storey of Oley, Pa., Mrs. Frank (Mickey) Petrocelli of Somerset, Mia Wadsworth and Betsy Wadsworth, both of Ruffsdale RD2; 20 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. There will be no public viewing. Memorial service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the LUTHER J. GRIMM FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Meredith Trout officiating. Helen M. Walro, 76, of Lincoln Heights, Jeannette, died Monday, April 10, 2000, in Orlando, Fla. She was born March 15, 1924, in Indiana, Pa., a daughter of the late Stanley and Sally Rymar Wojcik. She was a member of the St. Boniface Church of Penn and the church's Christian Mothers. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John Walro, in 1977; and a sister, Mary Wierzbowski. Helen is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Cottrell and husband, Doyle, of Orlando, Fla.; two sons , John A. "Jack" Walro and wife, Patricia, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Kevin A. Walro and wife, Barbara, of Portland, Ohio; a brother, Lawrence Wojcik of Harrison City; three sisters , Josephine Gadowski and husband, Stanley, of New Baltimore, Mich., Jennie Vodopivec of Harrison City and Delores Visnic of Greensburg; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. NANCY K. WALTON BARTON
Nancy K. Walton Barton, 86, of Delmont, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, in the Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. She was born Sept. 10, 1913, in Hempfield Township, a daughter of the late Florence R. and Cora Armour Walton. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a legal secretary for attorney Christ Walthour in Greensburg. She had also worked as a secretary for the U.S. Treasury Department in Washington , D.C., and for the Old Republic Insurance Company in Greensburg. She was a lifetime member of the Delmont Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Barton; by two brothers , Riley Walton and Eugene Walton; and by three sisters , Mary Swinter, Bertha Brunot, and Helen Shaffer. She is survived by a sister, Sara W. Probst of Greensburg; by three stepsons and two stepdaughters, Gary Barton of South Thetford, Vt., Vicki Tasney and David Barton, both of North Quincey, Mass., Fred Barton of Mechanicsville, Va., and Pat Brewer of Folsom, Calif.; and by a number of nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to attend a public memorial service to be held in the Delmont Presbyterian Church on Friday, April 21st, at 11 a.m. with her pastor, the Rev. Glen H. Alberta M. (Moyer) Brill, 94, of Bethel Park, died Friday, April 14, 2000, at her home with her husband, son, and daughter-in-law at her side. She was born Feb. 12, 1906, in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Mary Knight and Felix Moyer. Beloved wife of Walter Bernard Brill. Dear mother of Walta B. McLennand of New Jersey and Aaron W. Samuel J. Capozzi, 70, of Greensburg, passed away at home on Friday, April 14, 2000. He was born Jan. 30, 1930, in Greensburg, a son of the late Carmine and Vitangela Petrilla Capozzi. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers , Antonio and Anthony Capozzi; stepmother, Bessie Capozzi; a stepsister, Theresa Pedicone Daverse; and stepbrothers, Carmen, Henry and Joseph Pedicone. He was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, South Greensburg, and various organizations, including the Herminie Button Box Club. Sam was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the
Korean War. He is survived by brothers , John Capozzi and wife, Kay, Vincent Capozzi and wife, Virginia, all of Greensburg, Richard and wife, Julie, of Harrison City, and Robert Capozzi and wife, Marlea, of North Carolina; sisters , Constance "Katie" Capozzi, Helen Capozzi, Elizabeth Nagrocki and Mary Beacon; and sister-in-law, Ann Capozzi, all of Greensburg. Also surviving are the following stepbrother and stepsisters: Frank Pedicone and wife, Pearl, Mary Ann Sikora and husband, Adam, Genevieve Loncharich, Nancy Capasso and husband, Alex, Angeline Schultz and husband, Morris, and Florence Grey and husband, Walter; and several nieces and nephews. M. BLAIR DAVIS
M. Blair Davis, of Mt. Lebanon, died Friday, April 14, 2000. Beloved husband of Joan M. Melham Davis. Father of Donna Lynne Davis Wright of Gibsonia. Grandfather of Christina Anne Bordini and Emily Joan Wright of Gibsonia. Brother of Lynne Davis Land of Cullman, Ala. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton I. and Ethel A. Davis. Mr. Davis tirelessly labored with great dedication for over 30 years working his way up through the ranks, starting as a telephone lineman and installer and in various other positions until his retirement as manager of labor relations for Bell of Pennsylvania , where he won accolades for his firmness and fairness in the negotiation of labor-management contracts for Bell of Pennsylvania . Mr. Davis was an avid track and hurdle champion during his student days, and graduated from Thiel College, where he was a proud member of the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the
Korean War era in Fairbanks, Alaska, a member of the Aliquippa Lodge #375, F&AM, and a member of the Bell Telephone Pioneers. He was newly re-elected county committeeman of the Republican Committee of Allegheny County from Mt. Lebanon. Elizabeth E. Detrick, 76, of Murrysville and Bradenton, Fla., died suddenly Friday, April 14, 2000, in Bradenton. She was born May 13, 1923, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Donald and Alma Carr Murray. She was a retired secretary for Koppers Research in Monroeville. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Murrysville and the Whitfield Estates Presbyterian Church in Florida. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by a sister, Peg Lilja. She is survived by her husband, Sherman Detrick; two daughters , Judy Donovan of Searcy, Ark., and Lynn Lemmon of Dunedin, Fla.; three stepdaughters, Diane Horning of Kempton, Pa., Lynn Marks of Houston, Texas , and Sharon Ross of Portland, Ore.; a stepson, Robert Detrick of West Falmouth, Mass.; and 13 grandchildren. She was born Jan. 18, 2000, in Greensburg. She was preceded in death by her great-great-grandfather, William Smail. In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sisters , Giovanna Gilley at home and Tressa Gilley of Saxonburg; maternal grandparents, Leslie and Bonnie Smail of Penn; maternal great-grandparents, Tirzah and Bill Connolly of Latrobe; maternal great-great-grandmother, Edna Smail of Penn; paternal grandfather, Ken Gilley Sr. of Altoona; and a number of aunts and uncles.
