Pennsylvania Obituary and Marriage Records, 1947-2010

John L. Foor
INDIANAPOLIS, IN - John L. Foor, 81, of Indianapolis, IN, died May 1, 2003.

He was a Provisioning Specialist for Naval Avionics for 30 years, retiring in 1976. He was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church. He was a decorated World War II veteran, where he served with the 82nd Airborne Division as a paratrooper.

He is survived by: his wife, Mary Lou Jonas Foor; daughters , Carol, Mary, Jean, Anita, Janice and Martha; brother, Robert M. Foor; and sisters , Mary McMillin, Frances Wallace, Alice Roushe, and Lulu Gaut.

He formerly lived at 42 Delaware Ave., Lewistown, with Fred and Mary McMillin.

Frank 'Sonny' Forshey Sr.
LEWISTOWN - Frank "Sonny" Forshey, Sr., 60, of 20 S. Main St., Lewistown, died at 2:49 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2003, at Lewistown Hospital ER.

Born June 12, 1942, in Kaknek, Alaska, he was a son of Anthony Forshey Sr. of 732 W. 6th St., Lewistown and the late Evelyn (Shangan) Forshey, who died in 1968.

Surviving are: four children, Angela L. Forshey, State College, Christine M. Wagner, Frank Forshey, Jr., and Scott Alan Forshey, all of Lewistown; nine siblings, William Kalmakoff, Wisconsin, Henry Forshey, Allentown, Anthony Forshey, Port Royal, Sophia Rane, Chicago, IL, Jeffrey Forshey, Mifflintown, Timothy Forshey and Evelyn M. Hayes, both of Lewistown, Daniel Forshey and Alexandria Stailey, both of Port Royal; seven grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Forshey.

He was retired on military disability.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran of Vietnam.

He was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church. He was a Native American Indian and a member of the 13th Regional Corporation and the Kanatak Indian Tribe.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hoenstine Funeral Home, Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with Rev. Bernard Carpenter officiating. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing.

Lillian R. 'Becky' Forshey
LEWISTOWN - Lillian R. 'Becky' Forshey, 62, of Lincoln Ave., Lewistown, died at 1:35 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at Lewistown Hospital.

Born Jan. 16, 1941, in Huntingdon, she was a daughter of the late Wilbur and Anna M. (Smoker) Yoder. Her husband, Paul J. Forshey, whom she married July 11, 1959, survives.

Also surviving are: children, Joseph Forshey, Mrs. Chester (Anna) Packer, Mrs. Mark (Rebecca) Hutchison, and John Forshey, all of Lewistown; two brothers , Jerry Yoder, Mill Creek, and Charles Yoder, Granville; a sister, Anna Mae Billett, Reedsville; seven grandchildren and three great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Vicki Lynn Forshey, an infant grandson, David Andrew Forshey, and a brother, Paul Yoder.

She was a homemaker.

She enjoyed watching Emmy Awards and Dog shows, playing Yahtzee, working crosswords, and putting puzzles together.

Her funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 S. Market St., McVeytown with Rev. John S. Walters officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Mattawana.

Following the service, a luncheon will be held at Brooklyn Fire Hall, Lewistown. Those planning to attend are asked to bring a covered dish.

Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.

Marshall R. 'Mark' Foust
MCVEYTOWN - Marshall R. "Mark" Foust, 82, of South River Road, McVeytown, died at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2003.

Born Oct. 11, 1920, he was a son of the late Roy and Ethel (Kimberly) Foust.

Surviving are: two brothers , James R. Foust and Robert L. Foust, both of McVeytown; and Donna Carolus, friend and caregiver.

He was preceded in death by sisters , Ruth Foust, Melba James, Faye Buchanan, and Phyllis Harshbarger; and brothers , Lester A. Foust, and Wilbur K. Foust.

He resided on the Wilson Farm in Oliver Township for nearly 70 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, family and friends, and his faithful pets.

His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 S. Market St., McVeytown, with Rev. M. Leon Yoder officiating. Interment will be in Shope Cemetery, Orbisonia RD.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.

Lisa S. Fowler
MIFFLINTOWN - Lisa S. Fowler, 39, of RD5 Box 130, Mifflintown, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at Harrisburg Hospital from injuries due to an auto accident.

Born Oct. 15, 1963, in Lebanon, she was a daughter of Harvey Noll, Mosspoint, MS, and Susan (Rittle) Patches, Lebanon. Her companion, William H. Sassaman, survives in Mifflintown.

Also surviving are: two daughters , Tausha and Trisha Watts, both of Millersburg; five brothers , Robert and Michael Patches, both of Lebanon, Wayne Patches, Gillette, WY, Richard and Dale Noll, both of Cheyenne, WY; four sisters , Shirley Patches, Lebanon, Tracy Patches, Norristown, Ellen Noll, Lebanon, and Robin Shirk, Lewistown.

She was a nurse's aide.

She was a member of Reigle's Bible Church, Millersburg.

Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hoover Funeral Homes, Inc., Millersburg with Rev. Benjamin Brown officiating.

A viewing will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be sent to: Reigle's Bible Fellowship, 158 Reigles Church Road, Millersburg, PA 17061.

Lois Miller Fox
BELLEVILLE - Lois Miller Fox, 77, of 319 Valley View Terrace, Belleville, died at 2:53 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003, at Lewistown Hospital ER.

Born Nov. 12, 1925, in Mt. Pleasant, RD, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Anna (Tomanek) Miller. Her husband, Kyle Fox, whom she married June 28, 1944, died Dec. 24, 1998.

Surviving is: a brother, Roy Miller Jr., Lakeland, FL.

She was preceded in death by a brother, George Miller, and two sister, Jane Benji and Ruth Beal.

She was a homemaker. She attended Baptist Church.

In 1943 she graduated from East Huntingdon High School.

Her funeral services will be private with Rev. Galen Sharp officiating. Interment will be in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Connellsville.

Arrangements are by the Donald E. Baggus Funeral Home, 3813 W. Main St., Belleville, PA 17004.

Glenn R. 'Ray' Franklin
SPRING MILLS - Glenn R. "Ray" Franklin, 60, of rural Spring Mills, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, at his residence.

Born Nov. 16, 1942, in Petersburg, he was a son of the late Thomas Henry and Belva A. Strickler Franklin.

Surviving are: a daughter, Stephanie A. Peachey, Lewistown; four sisters , Coleen Cramer, Lewistown, Florine Richner, Bellefonte, Shirley Flood, Essex, MD, and Mona MacCabe, Alexandria; two brothers , Thomas H. Franklin, Centre Hall, and Benjamin Franklin, Bellefonte; and best friend and companion, Charolette Burcin of Port Matilda.

He was preceded in death by a son, Douglas G. Franklin, who died Sept. 5, 1987, a brother, Duane M. Franklin and a sister, Elizabeth M. Wyland.

He graduated from Penns Valley High School.

He served in the U.S. Army Reserve for four years.

He was employed by State Amusement Company for more than 35 years.

He was a member of American Legion Post 779 at Old Fort.

He enjoyed attending public sales, traveling and woodworking. His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Centre Hall. Interment will be in Reformed and Lutheran Cemetery, Centre Hall.

Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Stephen Franko
REEDSVILLE - Stephen Franko, 83, of 284 Willow Lane, Reedsville, died at 3:45 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2003, at Beverly Healthcare-William Penn, Lewistown.

Born Jan. 30, 1920, in Lyndora, he was a son of the late Harry and Julia (Druga) Franko. His wife, Alys Mae (Armstrong) Franko, who he married April 19, 1945, survives.

Also surviving are a son, Gregory Stephen Franko of Carlisle; a daughter, Julie E. Wheeler of Lewistown; four brothers and a sister, Michael Franko, Harry Franko, Frank Franko and Mary Anderson, all of Butler; five grandchildren, Brian Franko, Jennifer Hile-Mattingly, Amy Franko, Dayna Hile and Christina Franko; and a great-grandson, Benedict William Mattingly.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Paul Anthony Franko, in 1950, and two brothers , John and Andrew Franko.

He retired as an electrician from Viscose Corp., Lewistown, in January 1982.

He was veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in World War II.

He attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lewistown.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 106 N. Dorcas St., Lewistown, with Father Thomas C. Marickovic officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.

Graveside military honors will be conducted by VFW Post #7011, Lewistown.

A viewing will be held 7-9 p.m. Monday at Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.

Raymond E. Frazier
MCVEYTOWN - Raymond E. Frazier, 73, of 165 Arch Rock Lane, McVeytown, died at 8:02 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2003, at Beverly Healthcare-William Penn, Lewistown.

Born Aug. 19, 1929, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Emma Frazier. His wife, Mary (Daly) Frazier, whom he married Jan. 28, 1956, survives.

Also surviving are: two daughters , Mrs. Frank (Mary Patricia) Eward, Lewistown, and Mrs. Jonathan (Celeste) Barthel, Baltimore, MD; four grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

He was employed at Bethlehem Steel for 38 years, retiring in 1998.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.

A Prayer Service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with Rev. John B. Bateman officiating. Private interment will be in St. Mark's Cemetery. military graveside services will be conducted by VFW Post 7011.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Julia Grace Frohm
LEWISTOWN - Julia Grace Frohm, 91, of 438 Ort Valley Road, Lewistown, died at 4:55 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003, at her residence.

Born July 28, 1912, in Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late William and Fannie (Kauffman) Casner.

Surviving are: a daughter, Darlene L. Frohm, Joppa, MD; three sisters , Helen Parkent, Maryland, Alice Leeper, Lewistown and Nellie Hogan, Florida; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a granddaughter with whom she resided, Jamie Anderson.

She was preceded in death by a son, two brothers and four sisters .

She was employed as a nurses aide at various nursing homes.

She was a member of Pleasant Acres Assembly of God Church.

Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Juniata Memorial Park Chapel with Dr. Robert Coutts and Pastor Harold Imes officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the service time Saturday at the chapel.

Memorials may be sent to: Hospice-The Bridge, c/o Lewistown Hospital, Second Floor, 400 Highland Ave., Lewistown, PA 17044.

Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.

B. Luella Fry
YORKANNA - B. Luella (Blouse) Fry, 87, died at 7:10 p.m. Monday Dec. 30, 2002 at York Hospital after a brief illness.

Born July 31, 1915, in Lower Windsor Township, she was a daughter of the late C. Frank and Emma E. (Stein) Blouse. Her husband, John D.G. Fry Jr. died Oct. 1, 1966.

Surviving are: a son, John D. G. Fry III and wife Joan, Port Royal; three grandchildren, Jennifer E. Arensparger and John D.G. Fry IV, both of Newport, and Jeffrey D. Fry, Karthaus; four great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Burg Funeral Home, Red Lion with burial in Machpelah Cemetery, Yorkanna.
