Robert S. Dressler
MIFFLINTOWN - Robert S. Dressler, 95, of 402 Village Drive, Mifflintown, formerly of Locust Run, died at 11:45 pm Sunday, April 20, 2003 at Lewistown Hospital.
Born July 2, 1907 in Hawstone, he was a son of the late Robert E. and Emma (Rapp) Dressler. His first wife, Hulda (Henderson) Dressler died on March 31, 1946 and his second wife, Elizabeth C. (Lauver) Dressler died on July 13, 2001.
He is survived by 6 daughters and 2 sons : Ruth Williams, Mifflintown RR 2, Mary Walton, McAlisterville, Robert D. Dressler, Mechanicsburg, Nora Stacey, Mifflintown RR 1, Lucille Robey, Harvey's Lake RR 2, Clara Whistler, Mifflintown RR 4, William C. Dressler, Mifflin, and Jackelyn Fowler, McCoysville; two step- daughters , Gloria Johnson and Patricia Johnson Duncan, both of Camp Hill; one brother, Carl Dressler, Mifflintown RR 1; three sisters , Faye Landis, Mifflintown RR 2, Floe Beale, Brookline Manor, Mifflintown, and Janet Davis, Ohio; 31 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two daughters , Mildred Borowski and Carol Dressler and two brothers , Glenn Dressler and Galen Dressler.
He worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad for 48 years, retiring from the Enola car shop in 1972.
He was constable in Walker
Twp. for 12 years.
He was a member of the Locust Run United Methodist Church, Tennis Lodge #371 F&AM, Harrisburg Consistory, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, the Fraternal Order of Police, Walker Grange, the Juniata County Republican Committee, and the Juniata Public Safety Association, which he helped found. He was a life member of the West Enola Fire Company. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing cards.
His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Locust Run UM Church with Rev. Maureen Wagner and Rev. Gerald Wagner officiating. Interment will be in the Locust Run Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 8:45 p.m. at Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown and on Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the services. A Masonic service will be conducted by Tennis Lodge at 8:45 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Trystan Daniel Druckemiller
MCCLURE - Trystan Daniel Druckemiller, 3 days, of 23 Railroad St., McClure, died at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born June 15, 2003, at the medical center, he was the son of Fern, Jr. and Shannon (Lafty) Druckemiller of 23 Railroad St., McClure.
Also surviving are: a brother, Joseph Hillgrube, at home; two sisters , Devon and Jenna Lafty, at home; grandparents, Fern and Sandra (Peffer) Druckemiller, Sr., and the late William and Judy (Newman) Lafty.
A Mass will be celebrated in thanksgiving for the life of Trystan at a later date.

Elmer H. Drum
MONTGOMERY - Elmer H. Drum, 73, of Montgomery died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, in Williamsport Hospital.
He was married to the former Linda L. Canfield.
He was a former race car driver at Port Royal Speedway and owned and operated Drum Trucking.
Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Knight-Confer Funeral Home, Montgomery.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
Christian E. Duda
LEWISTOWN - Christian E. Duda, 31, of 104 Shrefflers Lane, Lewistown, died on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at his residence.
Born Dec. 31, 1971, in Wilkes Barre, he was a son of Edward P. and Carol J. (Stanton) Duda of 104 Shrefflers Lane, Lewistown.
Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Michael (Lisa) DeArmitt of State College.
He was disabled.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
There will be no public viewing.

Anna M. Duke
MILLERSTOWN - Anna M. Duke, 85, of RR2 Millerstown, died at 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2003, at her residence.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Garman Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant Mills. Interment will be in Mt. Zion United Methodist Cemetery, Millerstown.
A viewing will be from 7-9 Tuesday and from 1 p.m. until the service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Evaleen F. 'Evie' Duncan
MIFFLIN - Evaleen F. "Evie" Duncan, 91, of Locust Grove Retirement Village, HC-67, Mifflin, and formerly of Port Royal, Hobe Sound, FL, and Mifflin, died at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2003, at Lewistown Hospital.
Born July 3, 1911, in Altoona, Blair County, she was a daughter of the late Arthur P. and Harriet (Wilcox) Fisher. Her husband, Carl A. Duncan, preceded her in death Dec. 21, 1982.
Surviving are: a daughter, Sandra J. Duncan, Camp Hill; a son, David R. Duncan, RR3 Mifflintown; 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the last of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by a twin sister, and seven other brothers and sisters .
She was a 1929 graduate of Mifflintown High School.
She retired as an inspector in the cake converting department of the American Viscose Corp., Lewistown.
She was active in the Port Royal Senior Center. She enjoyed collecting seashells and loved game shows, search-a-word, and detective magazines. She had a wonderful sense of humor.
Her graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Nook, with Rev. Louise Knotts officiating. There will be no viewing.

Oscar P. Dunkelberger
MIFFLIN - Oscar P. Dunkelberger, 91, of Locust Grove Retirement Village, HC-67, Mifflin, formerly of Port Royal, died at 8:50 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2003, at the village.
Born Aug. 15, 1911, in Richfield, he was a son of the late Rev. E. E. and Alice I. (Lyter) Dunkelberger. His wife, Kathryn (Yarnell) Dunkelberger, preceded him in death.
Surviving are a son, Richard A. Dunkelberger, RR4 Mifflintown; a daughter, Mrs. Gene (Joan I.) Dumm, Chambersburg; a sister, Margaret Lauver, Lewisburg; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters , Irene Baker and Ruth Kratzer, and a brother, Joseph Dunkelberger.
He was U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was self-employed, owning and operating Dunkelberger Motors, Mifflintown, and Oscar's Wholesale, Mifflintown, and had served as a police officer for Lewistown.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday from the Mifflintown Chapel of Brown Funeral Homes Inc., 100 Bridge St., with Rev. James Harper officiating. Interment will follow in Richfield Union Cemetery, Richfield.
A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.

Harold A.V. Dunn
THOMPSONTOWN - Harold A.V. Dunn, 59, of RR1 Thompsontown (Goodville), died at 9:29 a.m. Sunday, July 27, 2003, at Lewistown Hospital.
Born March 4, 1944, in Walker Township, Juniata County, he was a son of the late George V. and Carrie M. (Civitts) Dunn. His wife, Carolyn J. (Goodling) Dunn, whom he married March 14, 1964, survives.
Also surviving are: four daughters , Karen R. Charles, Linda J. (Dunn) Nipple, both of RR1 Thompsontown, Connie M. Dunn, RR2 Thompsontown, and Bonita J. (Dunn) Lauver, McAlisterville; three brothers , Hoyle Dunn, Kenneth Dunn, both of RR1 Thompsontown, and Donald Dunn, McAlisterville; three sisters , Julia (Dunn) Goodling, McAlisterville, Edna (Dunn) Goodling, RR1 Thompsontown, and Shirley (Dunn) Goodling, McAlisterville; seven grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
He was a supervisor at Lyons Fashions, McAlisterville for 23 years.
He was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, RR1 McAlisterville. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the McAlisterville Chapel of Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 16 Westfall St., McAlisterville, with Rev. Ronald E. Landis officiating. Interment will be in St. John's United Methodist Cemetery, RR1 McAlisterville.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the family present 7-9 p.m.
Evelyn E. Earnest
LEWISTOWN - Evelyn E. Earnest, 79, of County Farm Lane, Lewistown, died at 5:13 a.m. Tuesday Jan. 7, 2003, at Lewistown Hospital.
Born March 11, 1923, in Yeagertown, she was the daughter of the late Rufus S. and Beulah (Murphy) Beaver. Her husband, Ross Earnest preceded her in death in 1978.
She is survived by a daughter-in-law, a grandson and a great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Ross Earnest in May 1998.
Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Hoenstine Funeral Home, Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown.
Interment will be private in Mt. Rock Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Ernest Alvin 'Ernie' Eaton
MT.PLEASANT MILLS - Ernest Alvin "Ernie" Eaton, 90, of RR1, Mt. Pleasant Mills, entered into eternal rest at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, at his residence. He had been under the care of a physician for the past three years.
Born April 29, 1912, in Kistler, he was a son of the late T. Lynn and Mary Alice (Gray) Eaton. His wife, the former Viola Murfin, whom he married Aug. 1, 1938, survives. His passing breaks a martial union of over 64 years.
Also surviving are: two sons and daughters -in-law, John P. Eaton and wife, Carol R., Mukwonago, WI, and Douglas E. Eaton and wife Kimberly P., RR3 Middleburg; a daughter, D. Lucille "Lucy" Leitzel and husband, Lynn L., RR1 Mt. Pleasant Mills; a foster son, Howard "Buster" Donaldson and wife Sandra M., Hampton, VA; a sister, Freda Shoop, East Waterford; a sister-in-law, Audrey Eaton, Lewistown; a daughter-in-law, Lorene D. Eaton, Selinsgrove; four generations of nieces and nephews; seven grandchildren, Michelle G. Davis, Jeffery L. Leitzel, Patrick W. Eaton, Erin L. Eaton, Justin M. Eaton, Brett P. Eaton, and Shannon R. Eaton; four great-grandchildren, Trevor J. Leitzel, Stefan A. Leitzel, Michaela G. Davis, and Cori N. Davis; and his black lab "Charney".
Mr. Eaton was known as " White y" by his friends in the Lewistown area.
He was preceded in death by a son, James Ronald Eaton on Feb. 5, 1990; and five brothers , William, Russell, Melvin, Glenness, and Raymond Eaton.
He was educated at Waterloo High School, Waterloo. He attended Pennsylvania Bible Institute, Philadelphia.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, being inducted March 6, 1944 at Lewistown. He was a Metalsmith 3rd class, serving in Guam he employed his skills on advanced base sectional dock repair of ships afloat. During his military service he completed his schooling.
He was awarded the World War II Victory Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Medal. On Nov. 26, 1945, he was honorably discharged from the service.
His employment history began in early years of the Pennsylvania Railroad, Chester. He then did body and fender work in Lewistown, just prior to his military induction, he worked at Royale Dairy Company, as a milkman in Lewistown. Following his military discharge, he worked at Kreamer Feed in poultry farming, and retired in 1975 as a welder and night foreman for Trailco Corp., Hummels Wharf.
He always provided for his family and was well known for owning and operating a bus service for the Middleburg Joint High School and later for the Selinsgrove School District.
He also assisted the Mennonite sect in providing a travel source for them to medical and other appointments.
He was a former member of Grubb's Lutheran Church, RR1 Mt. Pleasant Mills, where he taught Sunday School classes. He currently (since 1955) was a member of Richfield Mennonite Church. He was a LIFE member of the National Rifle Assoc., and a member of the Whispering Hollow Hunting Camp in rural Troxelville.
He loved his family and instilled strong Christian values to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening and was quite talented in ice skating. He did much walking and bike riding, and he raised horses.
His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Richfield Mennonite Church with Pastor Jerry R. O'Connell officiating and Donald Callison, director of Ambassadors with the Gospel Missionary Union, assisting. Burial will follow in Richfield Union Cemetery.
Family and friends will gather from 7-9 p.m. Friday for the viewing at the church and from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of the service Saturday at the church.

Spurgeon E. 'Bud' Edmiston
ENOLA - Spurgeon E. "Bud" Edmiston, 87, of Enola, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at Holy Spirit Hospital.
He was the widower of Elva H. Edmiston.
Surviving are: two daughters , Jean H. Dimeler, Dauphin and Vicki K. Welker, Enola; a son, Donald E. Edmiston, Enola; a sister, Joan Phelps, Beaver Springs; two brothers , Robert K. Lepley, Plant City, FL, and Terry K. Lepley, Enola; 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 4 step-great-grandchildren.
He was a retired Conductor with the former Penn Central Railroad.
He was a member of St. Johns (Barner's) Evangelical Lutheran Church, Liverpool. He was also a member of Steelton Moose Lodge 382, a member and past President of the United Transportation Union 0997.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in his church. Interment will be in Barner's Cemetery Liverpool.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.
